    --BELL--
    druth Vlodovic: suprise suprise :)
    Catrinamonblue Resident: hi :)
druth Vlodovic: aren't you supposed to be cutting paychecks or something?
Catrinamonblue Resident: waiting for timesheets :)
    druth Vlodovic: lazy things, timesheets
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Catrinamonblue Resident: not much to do here this morning :)

druth Vlodovic: Russia almost got hit by a meteor
druth Vlodovic: blew up and hurt 500 people
    Catrinamonblue Resident: saw that
    Catrinamonblue Resident: really scary
druth Vlodovic: I dropped a link to the B612 foundation on a yahoo news thingy, have to see if it gets any responses
    Catrinamonblue Resident: nods
    druth Vlodovic: scientists :)
druth Vlodovic: they ought to have called it "earth defence, 1st ring" or something, to drum up donations :)
    Catrinamonblue Resident: lol :)
    druth Vlodovic: http://b612foundation.org/
Catrinamonblue Resident: this is an open session, there is no guardian listed should one of us take the session?
druth Vlodovic: "the future is here, and we are living it."
druth Vlodovic: ah, I was wondering who's it was
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
druth Vlodovic: I have a game of rock paper scissors in my inventory if you want to fight for it
    Catrinamonblue Resident: lol sure
druth Vlodovic: ah, I got rid of it, I have a pillowfight but how do you determine a winner?
Catrinamonblue Resident: no winner in a pillow fight :)
    druth Vlodovic: :)
druth Vlodovic: of course, the thing in Russia is our fault
    Catrinamonblue Resident: hows that?
druth Vlodovic: one of the rules of magic is that there are no coincidences
druth Vlodovic: right after we start talking about vulnerability a meteor blows up right over a city
    druth Vlodovic: dun dun dun!!!!!!
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
    druth Vlodovic: hi Korel
    Catrinamonblue Resident: Hi Korel :)
druth Vlodovic: we were talking about PaB's first successful strike against Russia
    Korel Laloix: Heya
    Korel Laloix: Bowling?
druth Vlodovic: a sort of bowling :)
    --BELL--
Korel Laloix: I think vodka would go well with bowling
druth Vlodovic: they got nailed by a meteor in order to help our discussions on vulnerability
    Korel Laloix: brb
    druth Vlodovic: hb
druth Vlodovic: does an excess of security cause paralysis?
    Catrinamonblue Resident: depends I think
druth Vlodovic: we think everything is rock solid so what is, is
Catrinamonblue Resident: what is can always be changed, life is not static
druth Vlodovic: "rock solid" is a bit tongue in cheek for me since I was in the earthquake in Mexico :)
druth Vlodovic: the earth wandering about
    Arisia Vita: greetings all
druth Vlodovic: the sky dropping huge flaming things on you
    Catrinamonblue Resident: Hi Ari
    druth Vlodovic: nothing is invulnerable
    druth Vlodovic: hey ari
druth Vlodovic: there is talk about "straightening hooks" attached to chains binding us to things around us
druth Vlodovic: maybe we get more inclined to create these chains when we think the things we put them on are immoveable
Catrinamonblue Resident: no nothing is invulnerable, there is always a vulnerability somewhere, whether you talk about security, life or people
Catrinamonblue Resident: do you think there are chains binding us to things? I've never thought of it that way
druth Vlodovic: I think we think there are
druth Vlodovic: we create them, and obey them
druth Vlodovic: and sometimes you start to do something and find yourself at the end of one and can't go further
Catrinamonblue Resident: but can they not be flexible, movable, changeable?
druth Vlodovic: depends on what we make them out of :)
Catrinamonblue Resident: I think you can go further
Catrinamonblue Resident: just scary to push at that boundary
druth Vlodovic: it makes us feel secure to have lots of chains
druth Vlodovic: binding us to things we think we can trust
    Catrinamonblue Resident: yes it does
druth Vlodovic: or even just limiting our possibilities
druth Vlodovic: so we don't have to decide
Catrinamonblue Resident: sometimes it is s good thing to push ourselves outside of those chains, to let go and see
Catrinamonblue Resident: sometimes you are stronger than you think
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey everyone
druth Vlodovic: yakuzza looking sexy in his bunny slippers :)
    Catrinamonblue Resident: Hi Yaku
    Yakuzza Lethecus: ha
    --BELL--
druth Vlodovic: of course to do this discussion properly we should spend next week talking about the power of security and the negative effects of vulnerability :)
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
    Korel Laloix: Back.. with breakfast.
    druth Vlodovic: yayy!
druth Vlodovic: what did you make me?
Korel Laloix: Eggs and vegi burger on reheated frybread.
Korel Laloix: Much better than it sounds.
druth Vlodovic: I hope so :-?
Korel Laloix: Anything on frybread is lovely.
Yakuzza Lethecus: didn´t sound bad in the first place, so it must be awesome :)
Korel Laloix: If nothing else, I can cook.
druth Vlodovic: gives a nice point of security :)
Korel Laloix: I grew up cooking for myself, so there is a matter of satisfaction I get from it.
Korel Laloix: Makes me feel independant.
druth Vlodovic: standing on your own two feet
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Korel Laloix: I there is also a satisfaction in cooking for the one/s I love as well.
druth Vlodovic: I suppose one reaction to replacing chains with vulnerability is that we learn how to cover a lack with ability
Korel Laloix: Not sure what you mean, chains make you vulnerable.
druth Vlodovic: they can give the feeling of security
Korel Laloix: OH OK... I see what you mean.
druth Vlodovic: I guess at this level I'm talking about feelings and impressions and our reactions to it
druth Vlodovic: rather than what people call "real" reality
Catrinamonblue Resident: they may give a feeling of security but I wonder if it's false security as the chains are not really real
Korel Laloix: I think all senses of security in reality are false.
Catrinamonblue Resident: they change and move with the wind of time
Korel Laloix: But then again, I grew up always in danger, so I might have a more pessimistic view of things.
druth Vlodovic: I remember hearing about people trying to "toughen up" their kids by making them go through things on their own, without comforting
druth Vlodovic: my approach has been to comfort them and hope they grow their own strength
druth Vlodovic: I never found standing on the cliff's edge to be strengthening
Korel Laloix: Depends on so many factors what people eventlly become.
    --BELL--
druth Vlodovic: my big awakening on security was being in a minor earthquake
druth Vlodovic: nothing that we always rely on, and have faith in, is stable or secure
Korel Laloix: We had an earthqute here.. small one a few months ago.. it was odd.
druth Vlodovic: until it happened i didn't even know I had faith in the "solid ground"
    druth Vlodovic: odd how?
Korel Laloix: You just expect earthquakes in Oklahoma..
Korel Laloix: And it was just small, so just felt like a bit of dizziness really.
druth Vlodovic: when did you realize what was happening?
Korel Laloix: When I read the news about the earthquake a couple of hours later.
    Korel Laloix: brb
druth Vlodovic: it is easier to blame our fragile health than the "solid" world around us :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: I think the meteor this morning also gave such an example since it´s such a rare event but can have enourmous consequences
Arisia Vita: it's been great being with you all but rl calls...keep your heads down... :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: bye ari
    Arisia Vita: and keep smiling
    Arisia Vita: bye for now
    druth Vlodovic: bye ari
Catrinamonblue Resident: Bye Ari sorry missed you :)
druth Vlodovic: you wake up one morning and BOOM
druth Vlodovic: a bit of a shake up
    Catrinamonblue Resident: yes
Yakuzza Lethecus: the last earthquake i felt here in my area in germany was in the 90th
druth Vlodovic: makes you realize that there isn't really much between you and danger
Yakuzza Lethecus: also in the night
druth Vlodovic: how did you react to it yaku?
Yakuzza Lethecus: I do not recall, I think i was just confused and didn´t even believe it was an earthquake
druth Vlodovic: I found it hard to connect myself
    --BELL--
Yakuzza Lethecus: just googled for it, that was in 1992, 3:20 am regional time
Catrinamonblue Resident: the earthquake we had here a few years ago I remember very well, was very scary for me here in my basement office
Yakuzza Lethecus: there weren´t any damages here, but it was still feelable was a 5.9
druth Vlodovic: did it affect you emotionally cat? beyond the initial fear I mean
Catrinamonblue Resident: the one we had was I think 5 or 5.2
Catrinamonblue Resident: every time a truck rummbles by I look to be sure it's a truck
Catrinamonblue Resident: and not the earth rummbling again
Catrinamonblue Resident: I must go now, timesheets are in, pay checks are written and now must be signed.
    Catrinamonblue Resident: bye guys :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: bye cat
    druth Vlodovic: have fun cat
Yakuzza Lethecus: i will also log out for now
    druth Vlodovic: ttfn
    Yakuzza Lethecus: see you soon
