Calvino Rabeni: brb .. AFK with a BLT :)
Paradise Tennant: hiya cal how are you :)
Calvino Rabeni: back ... Hi Para :)
    --BELL--

Paradise Tennant: read a wonderful book you would love .. In Arabian NIghts by Tashir Shah about a man trying to find the story in his heart :)
Calvino Rabeni: I'm well, enjoying a break from the weather
Calvino Rabeni: oh that sounds like a nice space to get into
    Paradise Tennant: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tahir_Shah

Editor:  The author is the son of the famous Sufi writer / teacher Idries Shah.

Calvino Rabeni: I was thinking of getting a book for traveling
Calvino Rabeni: (in more ways than one )
Paradise Tennant: how is the trip going
    Calvino Rabeni: thanks
    Paradise Tennant: http://www.amazon.com/Arabian-Nights-Caravan-Moroccan-Dreams/dp/0553384430
Paradise Tennant: you would love it ..all about stories and story telling :)
Calvino Rabeni: It's flying by ... there's been a lot more rainy weather than expected.
    Paradise Tennant: ahh
Calvino Rabeni: Also I've made a kind of error to schedule my return during
Calvino Rabeni: thai new year .. that is the biggest disruption of the year, though it is fun
Calvino Rabeni: actually storms can be exciting, though
    Paradise Tennant: http://www.google.ca/search?q=thai+new+year...
Calvino Rabeni: lots of people like to go down to the sea wall and wathc the power of the ocean
Calvino Rabeni: sending big waves that crsh up where it is usually dry beach
Paradise Tennant: looks like a big water pistol fight
Calvino Rabeni: as a foreigner I thought it funny to see sponges in the parking lot
Calvino Rabeni: More natural than artificial, though I saw both thpes (!)
Calvino Rabeni: The water pistol fights have a really pleasant cultural space they come from
Paradise Tennant: how long have you been there now ?
Calvino Rabeni: more "let's have fun together" than "I'm going to get you!"
Calvino Rabeni: I've been a month in Australia
Paradise Tennant: so thailand then australia ?
Paradise Tennant: or did Australia come first ?
Calvino Rabeni: then Thailand .. the itinerary has Australia in the middle
Calvino Rabeni: a big thick sandwich with thai bread and aussie filling
    Paradise Tennant: smiles
    Paradise Tennant: very different places
    Calvino Rabeni: yes quite
Paradise Tennant: what have been the highlights so far ?
Calvino Rabeni: AU is "the same but different" compared to US, and Thailand is really different than what I'm used to
    --BELL--

Calvino Rabeni: Highlights .. hmm, funny I don't really have a sense of scale about that ... I was impressed with the power of the ocean driven by cyclone ..how hard it can rain ...
Calvino Rabeni: liked the temple bells in thailand
Calvino Rabeni: learned how to drive on the "wrong" (I mean left) side of the road .. with some difficulty :)
Calvino Rabeni: Like being able to walk long distances .. glad I'm able
Paradise Tennant: yes see so much more walking
    Calvino Rabeni: nods
Paradise Tennant: hardly ever drive anywhere :)
Paradise Tennant: you get use to the pace
    Calvino Rabeni: indeed
Calvino Rabeni: sometimes I wonder about that
Calvino Rabeni: like I see no need to rush through the housekeeping tasks either
Paradise Tennant: yes housework is really relaxing and pleasant ifyou are not under pressure or in a hurry
Calvino Rabeni: It makes me wonder though if I'd be still adaptable to working in a fast paced corporate environment
Calvino Rabeni: which most of my work life I rather liked
Paradise Tennant: I find on the weekend I don't feel normal until the sunday .. it seems I need a full day to just unwind the spring
Calvino Rabeni: I've been think that's true, even without working ... what kind of spring have I gotten wound up
Calvino Rabeni: that would be reveled by a retreat type session
Calvino Rabeni: Life has so much .. maybe a predominance of unfinished situations, ones that arouse but don't complete a full response
Calvino Rabeni: it seems like part of the nature of our culture
Calvino Rabeni: to be constantly presented with the middles of unfinished, but important stories
    Paradise Tennant: smiles
Paradise Tennant: the middle of unfinished situations
Calvino Rabeni: yes, always thrown off balance
Calvino Rabeni: I think I start to see why people like all those TV series about crime dramas with serial killers ... though it seems to go on and on, the story usually gets finished at least for this week
Calvino Rabeni: all those finishings ... might be the payoff
Calvino Rabeni: I've been trying to get into it a bit ... for some thing different ... I think I might start to like the reality shows about food and building things :)
    --BELL--

Calvino Rabeni: (heh, reminds me of the 80's music album ... More Songs about Food and Buildings)
Paradise Tennant: I start with a list every day
Paradise Tennant: spend about 15 minutes doing it up and find I often add easy bits so I get to scratch something off :)
stevenaia Michinaga: I try to start one every now and then, have an app to help me get organized
Calvino Rabeni: That sounds like a good discipline ... Hi stevenaia
Calvino Rabeni: I hae one of those too
    Paradise Tennant: hiya stev )
stevenaia Michinaga: sometimes it's more important to write them down then to look at them again
Calvino Rabeni: Sounds like it is well in hand, practical, Para
    stevenaia Michinaga: hi Para, Cal
Calvino Rabeni: yes, actually, I think at least for me, part of using the app and system is a kind of sacrificial ritual to let go of the tasks that one desires but could never do
Calvino Rabeni: as desires seem always to fly far above practial abilities
Calvino Rabeni: it's like writing things on a list to be able to forget about them
stevenaia Michinaga: but... you know where they arew
Calvino Rabeni: like burning a piece of paper, or setting it adrift
Calvino Rabeni: on the wates of cyberspace
    Calvino Rabeni: yes
Calvino Rabeni: you hand them over
Calvino Rabeni: but can get them back
Calvino Rabeni: and thus hae them but not carry them on the back
stevenaia Michinaga: or get lost in the backroads of your mind
Calvino Rabeni: nods .. i think it kind of builds a bridge between those backroadds and the external world
Calvino Rabeni: something can be spooky about those back roads sometimes
Calvino Rabeni: all those "lost" things I suppose
    Calvino Rabeni: hmmm, bucket list?
stevenaia Michinaga: more freightening when you remember something left there a while ago, and say, uh oh, I should have remembered that
Paradise Tennant: we should do a go round of bucket list items :)
stevenaia Michinaga: interesting, never thought of mine,......except to travel far
Calvino Rabeni: I have time for that .. good idea ... will need to go soon after
Paradise Tennant: right it is getting late one go round of bucket list items did you want to start cal ?
Calvino Rabeni: wonders if they have to be easily doable items
    Calvino Rabeni: yes
Paradise Tennant: hiya geo welcome :)
Calvino Rabeni: a few rounds .. I'd like to write a novel or a screenplay that gets produced
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
Calvino Rabeni bows in return to Geo Netizen
Paradise Tennant: would you like to sit with us we are doing a go round of items that are on our bucket list
    stevenaia Michinaga: night geo
    Paradise Tennant: namaste :)
    Calvino Rabeni: bye !
Paradise Tennant: what kind of screen play cal ?
    --BELL--

Calvino Rabeni: probaably a quirky indie drama
    stevenaia Michinaga: Para?
Paradise Tennant: hmm I have a very long bucket list .. but I would like to stop for a good long while and just really remember and appreciate some of the experiences I have already had ..
    Calvino Rabeni nods
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, you miss so much of your past
Paradise Tennant: the gifts of knowing certain people
Calvino Rabeni: "write memoir" -> list
    Paradise Tennant: smiles
Paradise Tennant: yes need to get very still to see you you can bring those moments back
Paradise Tennant: think of all the richness we have had :)) hannah's woodstock weekend for example how marvelous
stevenaia Michinaga: I've lost so many memories that old friends bring back to me
Paradise Tennant: I can remember as a teenager saling and have an impromptu sock hop under the biggest carribean moon imaginable
Calvino Rabeni: gtg .. but I didn't want to miss stev's bucket list item
Calvino Rabeni: if you have one ready :)
stevenaia Michinaga: the memories are usually nicer than I remember
    Paradise Tennant: smiles and listens
Calvino Rabeni: sounds like a song- icon memory Para
stevenaia Michinaga: mine was as I mentioned earlier... to trravel
    Calvino Rabeni: somewhere(s) particular?
    stevenaia Michinaga: europe, Paris, spain
    Calvino Rabeni: <- likes Spain
Calvino Rabeni: I put Venice and the Malta Hypogeum on my list after PaB conversations
stevenaia Michinaga: friends at dinner tonight are going to Scotland this week, that would be nice
Calvino Rabeni: As for me I have a chance to X off one .. "find Kangaroocrossing"
Calvino Rabeni: this area has Wombat Crossing road signs :)
    Paradise Tennant: smiles
Calvino Rabeni: ... and with that ... /me hops off down the road ..

    --BELL--

    stevenaia Michinaga: yes
stevenaia Michinaga: two couples were academics, architect and phillosophy and my friend who run a school for the arts, jsut reveived a state grant to design a new school building
Paradise Tennant: nothing like great food and great conversation they are such a nice pairing
stevenaia Michinaga: a happy time, said she just wanted to be around friends since she works 24/7 to get the school; to get a new building, sees the vision is near
