2013.02.05 19:00 - Space, Time and Patience

The Guardian for this meeting was Eos Amaterasu. The comments are by Eos Amaterasu.

Catrinamonblue Resident: 's current display-name is "Catrinamonblue".
Catrinamonblue Resident: listening to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CL2jcwBc0HY
    Catrinamonblue Resident: talking about shame
Eos Amaterasu has been listening to the birds
    Eos Amaterasu: clicks
    Catrinamonblue Resident: very interesting
Eos Amaterasu: hmm... (saves the tab)
    Eos Amaterasu: shame around oneself?
Catrinamonblue Resident: it is, she does several talks about shame and vulnerability
    Catrinamonblue Resident: yes

    --BELL--

Eos Amaterasu: that somewhat relates with patience, especially with patience with ourselves
Catrinamonblue Resident: yes I think so :)
Eos Amaterasu: we are with ourselves every second, so there's lots of opportunities for patience.
Catrinamonblue Resident: the feeling of not being good enough, not being enough, and feeling shame about it, impatient with ourselves for ot doing enough
Eos Amaterasu: yes, I recognize that
Catrinamonblue Resident: this one is her talk on vulnerability http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCvmsMzlF7o
Catrinamonblue Resident: another to watch later
Eos Amaterasu: what are you exploring with these talks, cat?
Catrinamonblue Resident: understanding me I think
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
Eos Amaterasu: hehe , nicely put
Catrinamonblue Resident: looking at different perspectives of figuring out how I work
    Catrinamonblue Resident: thanks
    Eos Amaterasu: the you experience
    Eos Amaterasu: that catrinamonblue experience
    Catrinamonblue Resident: yes :)
Eos Amaterasu: playing right here right now :-)
Catrinamonblue Resident: I always thought myself a plain simple girl
    Eos Amaterasu listens
Catrinamonblue Resident: but a friend once said I was extremely complicated
Catrinamonblue Resident: and that has puzzled me greatly
Eos Amaterasu: maybe it simple looking out and complex looking in
    Eos Amaterasu: hi Para
Catrinamonblue Resident: so I have been trying to figure that out
    Catrinamonblue Resident: Hi Para :)
Paradise Tennant: hiya cat . eos :)) smiles and listens
Catrinamonblue Resident: [19:02] Catrinamonblue: this one is her talk on vulnerability http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCvmsMzlF7o
Catrinamonblue Resident: talking about this series of talks
Catrinamonblue Resident: this one on vulnerability and another of hers on shame
    Catrinamonblue Resident: me exploring me
    Eos Amaterasu: who's zoomin' who
Catrinamonblue Resident: shame is fear of disconnection
    Eos Amaterasu: disconnection from?
    Catrinamonblue Resident: others
    Catrinamonblue Resident: ourselves?
Paradise Tennant: dissonance from feeling disconnected from our true selves ?
Eos Amaterasu: but it's not fear of loneliness
    Catrinamonblue Resident: maybe
Catrinamonblue Resident: for me a bit yes
    Eos Amaterasu: shunned?
Eos Amaterasu: you shun yourself .... is that shame?
Catrinamonblue Resident: this is still new in my head so I'm not sure I'm going to make sense on this yet
Catrinamonblue Resident: exploring the idea is all
Catrinamonblue Resident: vulnerability is needed to find connection. we have to expose our true selves in order for others to see and connect
Eos Amaterasu: and if there's some we're ashamed of, don't want to expose and share...
    Catrinamonblue Resident: yes
    Eos Amaterasu: that's depressing
    Catrinamonblue Resident: lol
    Catrinamonblue Resident: maybe so
Eos Amaterasu: cause in a way we can't share what we are (like a weakness for chocolate)?
Catrinamonblue Resident: fear of disconnection....... fear of ridicule..... fear of being small...... fear .......

    --BELL--

Catrinamonblue Resident: I think I have to think more on this before I try to talk on it :) otherwise I will make no real sense of it. Will have to listen to her talks a few times more to absorb the words of them.
Paradise Tennant: funny how we find things when we need them ..always found that a kind of wonder .. really
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Catrinamonblue Resident: yes really I was just browsing youtube when I came across it
Eos Amaterasu: maybe we play the universe a bit and it plays back
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Paradise Tennant: smiles .. yes :))
Catrinamonblue Resident: I like that Eos
Eos Amaterasu: if we feel we are basically good then we can relax
    Eos Amaterasu: soften and open
    Eos Amaterasu: connect with self
    Eos Amaterasu: with others
Eos Amaterasu: be vulenerable to ourselves
Catrinamonblue Resident: I'm only just learning all this, exploring these new ways of experiences
Eos Amaterasu: be vulnerable to others, with others
    Eos Amaterasu: scary!
Catrinamonblue Resident: yes it is in a way and yet here in SL and most particularly here at PaB I have been more open than in RL
    Paradise Tennant: open and patient
    Catrinamonblue Resident: yes
Catrinamonblue Resident: patient to wait and see and learn
Paradise Tennant: things move a bit slower here ... you get to know people in a slightly different way
Eos Amaterasu: patience includes you and all that happens
Eos Amaterasu: eventually you find that patience is already there :-)
    Catrinamonblue Resident: like deep breaths
Eos Amaterasu: deep space within which is all
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Catrinamonblue Resident: is patience waiting? or is waiting patience?
Eos Amaterasu: maybe it's not pre-pouncing
Paradise Tennant: kind of an abiding
    Catrinamonblue Resident: abiding :)
Paradise Tennant: being in or surrendering to the flow
Eos Amaterasu: (the dude is back!)
Eos Amaterasu: being willing to accept all the particles in the flow
    Catrinamonblue Resident: not easy sometimes
Eos Amaterasu: patience is beyond the momentary
Eos Amaterasu: not at all easy
Eos Amaterasu: within that space something like tonglen can happen
Paradise Tennant: hmmm actually .. patience makes everything easier though once you have it in hand in heart in mind
Paradise Tennant: helps you to see all the things that are difficult about people their harshness say or unreasonableness are momentary ..
Eos Amaterasu: I heard Chögyam Trungpa tell his community in Vermont "thanks to you I have attained enlightenment through patience"
    Paradise Tennant: oooooooooo
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Paradise Tennant: you have led such an exciting life Mr Amaterasu
Paradise Tennant: still love the story about him driving a car into a toy shop
    Catrinamonblue Resident: patience overcomes fear?
Paradise Tennant: but apparently does not help your motor vehicular skill set :))
Eos Amaterasu: I think patience is before and after and ahead and behind you
Paradise Tennant: oooo and in you :)
Eos Amaterasu: so the you to be fearful for gets lost
    Paradise Tennant: ahh
Paradise Tennant: smiles ... a framework for a no you scenario :)

    --BELL--

Catrinamonblue Resident: no you, no me?
Paradise Tennant: smiles .. had a very early morning so I will thank you for your company .. and the conversation :)) will stroll under a dark sky with the dog to night and ponder patience :))
    Eos Amaterasu: 'night, Para
    Catrinamonblue Resident: night Para :)
Paradise Tennant: namaste my friends sweet dreams :))
Eos Amaterasu: you experience, me experience
Catrinamonblue Resident: words on a screen
Eos Amaterasu: in which you is experience, me is experience
Eos Amaterasu: and who is it that is experiencing experience?
Catrinamonblue Resident: in which experience is made :)
Catrinamonblue Resident: word plays in the night of experience and you, me
    Eos Amaterasu: emotional play also
Catrinamonblue Resident: am being a bit silly I know but words are playing me today
    Catrinamonblue Resident: emotions too
Catrinamonblue Resident: thinking and trying to learn the complexities of me
Eos Amaterasu: the space playground of emotions and words can turn them into poetry
Catrinamonblue Resident: sometimes yes but today is just expressions of expression
Eos Amaterasu: with Shakespeare you have a sense of space within and around the words and the players embodying through the words
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Eos Amaterasu: sense of ordinary sacredness is a bit like that as well: it may be an ordinary object, but let be in a sort of bigger view, or patience
    Catrinamonblue Resident: nods
Eos Amaterasu: then the ordinary object becomes a special object, and we put a scarf around it
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Catrinamonblue Resident: the me in I
    Catrinamonblue Resident: patient and enduring
    Catrinamonblue Resident: waiting
Catrinamonblue Resident: for a scarf :)
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
Catrinamonblue Resident: words words words all talk round in circles but where do they go?
Eos Amaterasu: words are our specialty as human beings
Catrinamonblue Resident: (is a little crazy tonight and hopes Eos won't mind)
Eos Amaterasu: they let us connect with each other!
Eos Amaterasu: you can leave a story inside me
Eos Amaterasu: how crazy is that?
Catrinamonblue Resident: yes they are special aren't they, back to connections again :)
Hana Furlough: 's current display-name is "Hana".

    --BELL--

    Eos Amaterasu: ahHana]
    Catrinamonblue Resident: hey Hanna
Hana Furlough: hi cat and eos
Catrinamonblue Resident: How are you doing today Hanna?
Eos Amaterasu: Hana's pigeon just coo-ed!
Hana Furlough: i am better, thanks, cat
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Hana Furlough: haha yes! she has a nice voice, right?
Hana Furlough: how are you both doing tonight?
Catrinamonblue Resident: good :) thank you
Eos Amaterasu: talking about shame, and connection, and patience, ....
    Hana Furlough: interesting
Catrinamonblue Resident: and words and silliness :)
    Hana Furlough: : )
Eos Amaterasu: it's interesting to think of patience as a quality of space
    Catrinamonblue Resident: space time
Eos Amaterasu: patience as a vast space
Hana Furlough: yeah just letting things happen
    Eos Amaterasu: space time, yes
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Eos Amaterasu: letting them happen, not ignoring them
    Hana Furlough: right
Hana Furlough: and not forcing them
    Catrinamonblue Resident: deep breaths :)
Eos Amaterasu: patience has a kind of expectant but accomodating quality, like pregnant
Catrinamonblue Resident: I like that :)
    Eos Amaterasu: expanding space :-)
    Catrinamonblue Resident: yes
    Hana Furlough: nice
Catrinamonblue Resident: and on that note I bid you all good night :)
    Hana Furlough: good night cat!
    Eos Amaterasu: good night cat!
    Hana Furlough: pleasant chatting
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Eos Amaterasu: thanks for company, connects, patience :-)
    stevenaia Michinaga: aww, poof time
Eos Amaterasu: wow, nice move stevenaia
    stevenaia Michinaga: hi hana, Eos
    Hana Furlough: hi stevenaia!
    stevenaia Michinaga: nice dove, Hana
Hana Furlough: thanks! courtesy of san
stevenaia Michinaga: I heard it last night
    stevenaia Michinaga: snow's melting here
    Hana Furlough: it is
    stevenaia Michinaga: must be spring
Hana Furlough: as the medeival poets would say: spring's footsteps
    Eos Amaterasu: ever hopeful
Eos Amaterasu: seeing seasons brings patience
Eos Amaterasu: maybe initially brings impatience
    stevenaia Michinaga: howso
stevenaia Michinaga: hope for the new season
    stevenaia Michinaga: ?
Eos Amaterasu: seeing multiple seasons you see cycles
Eos Amaterasu: but within a cycle you may get impatient for the next phase
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, hope is usually future directed
Eos Amaterasu: there's also faith that that's the way the seasons cycle
stevenaia Michinaga: people rarely hope to change the past
    Hana Furlough: sometimes i do
Eos Amaterasu: that's the despairing part, that you can't
stevenaia Michinaga: you might wish to change the past, but hoping to.... can you explain, hana?
    Hana Furlough: well
Hana Furlough: if there were no time
Hana Furlough: i guess you could change the past

    --BELL--

Eos Amaterasu: I am hearing your words in a time that is your past, Hana
Eos Amaterasu: (about 12 hours ago)
Hana Furlough: but i suspect once you really realized there is no time, you would see why the past is as it is and not want to change it
    Hana Furlough: (haha yes!)
Eos Amaterasu: so there really is not time!
Eos Amaterasu: except for bed time :-)
    Hana Furlough: ahh yes
    Hana Furlough: that is real
    Hana Furlough: : )
stevenaia Michinaga: ponders what no time does to patience
    Hana Furlough: interesting
    stevenaia Michinaga: night Eos
    Hana Furlough: good night eos!
Eos Amaterasu: hmm, yes, night Hana and steveniaa

stevenaia Michinaga: I'm busy timing myself for the 99 days, not to see how long, but to see how slow
Hana Furlough: sorry can you tell me what the 99 days is?
Hana Furlough: i keep hearing about it but i'm out of the loop
stevenaia Michinaga: that's the exercise that Wol created where those who wish to are given a place to paratice what they they want to for 99 days to create a habit they wish to continue with
stevenaia Michinaga: will post a link.....
    Hana Furlough: oh nice
    stevenaia Michinaga: https://wiki.playasbeing.org/Classes_and_Sessions/The_99_Days_project
    Hana Furlough: thank you
stevenaia Michinaga: you can begin anytime, but it also offers a place to create a daily blog comment about it and to suppport others
    Hana Furlough: very nice
stevenaia Michinaga: this is the 4th time some of us have done it
stevenaia Michinaga: for instance Eden write a hiku every day, I practice meditation and Chi Gong
stevenaia Michinaga: each chooses what they want
    Hana Furlough: sounds great
stevenaia Michinaga: you should find something and try it a few day, you can join in or miss anytime
    Hana Furlough: thank you
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
Hana Furlough: it looks like a great blog
    stevenaia Michinaga: bedtime
    stevenaia Michinaga: night hana
    Hana Furlough: good night!
    Hana Furlough: happy dreams!
