Korel Laloix: Oh do tell.
Lucinda Lavender: I was able to celebrate with kids, people my age and people of parental age
Lucinda Lavender: many age ranges then
Korel Laloix: Sounds fun.

stevenaia Michinaga: nice
Korel Laloix: That does sound lovely.. congratulations.
Lucinda Lavender: I made a few pizzas
Lucinda Lavender: and husband made a turkey tomato and olive dish
Korel Laloix: What kind of pizza?
Lucinda Lavender: for the kids at school I brought straberries
stevenaia Michinaga: did you celebrate at school too?
Lucinda Lavender: well...I made one with mozz. basil, onion, ...
Lucinda Lavender: and one with artichoke heart, italian sausage, peppers, olives, tomato,
Lucinda Lavender: and I forget the third
Lucinda Lavender: some conglomeration
stevenaia Michinaga: sounds like much work for your own party
Lucinda Lavender: I like to cook without a recipe
Lucinda Lavender: :))work and a great opportunity to give back
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, cooking is its own reward when you get to eat it, and someone else cleans up
Lucinda Lavender: noone makes their own pizza in the family I guess
Lucinda Lavender: :))
--BELL--
Lucinda Lavender: I was given a new book...
Lucinda Lavender: sorry bell
Lucinda Lavender: Daily Rituals..How Artists Work by Mason Curry..from my daughter who knew I would like that sort of thing.
Korel Laloix: Will look it up.
Korel Laloix: I can't wait until I can read things I want to read again...
Lucinda Lavender: Cool
Korel Laloix: This school thing is just getting old.
Lucinda Lavender: Aww...I bet!Do either of you have a favorite wine? Luci full of questions as usual...
stevenaia Michinaga: you will miss it soon
stevenaia Michinaga: I an not a wine explorer
Lucinda Lavender: do you have a favorite ritual?
Lucinda Lavender: :))
Korel Laloix: I do... smiles.. but I just buy it by the bottle... not sure what brand it is.. one sec, let me check the trash.
Lucinda Lavender: or a favorite part of the day?
Lucinda Lavender: because of what you always do then?
stevenaia Michinaga: meditation is a ritual that comes in may flavors for me
stevenaia Michinaga: *many
Lucinda Lavender: nodding , nice...
stevenaia Michinaga: work meditation, play meditation,
Ewan Bonham: 's current display-name is "Ewan".
stevenaia Michinaga: meditation meditation :
stevenaia Michinaga: 0
stevenaia Michinaga: :)
Lucinda Lavender: yes...combining meditation...
Lucinda Lavender: Hi Ewan!
stevenaia Michinaga: Hi ewan
Korel Laloix: My meditation is when I run.
stevenaia Michinaga: perhaps Ritual=meditation
Lucinda Lavender: work plus meditation is very valuable
stevenaia Michinaga: hi Ewan
Ewan Bonham: Hello friends...:)
Lucinda Lavender: interesting Korel and steve...
Lucinda Lavender: Ewan...I just asked them if they had a favorite wine, or ritual...
stevenaia Michinaga: looks for quote in my profile: If life is a meditation, what is not meditating
Korel Laloix: When the endorphins kick in I can really clear than focus.
Ewan Bonham: 's current display-name is "Ewan".
Lucinda Lavender: for me stopping to take a picture on a walk came up as a meditation today
Lucinda Lavender: I like the sound of a clear experience like that Korel
Lucinda Lavender: an awakening
Ewan Bonham: Nod..
Lucinda Lavender: in the body
Ewan Bonham: Feel of refreshment..
Lucinda Lavender: all moments as meditation
Lucinda Lavender: today watching and helping children sharpen pencils was like meditaion
Lucinda Lavender: meditation
Lucinda Lavender: watching them ponder the shavings
stevenaia Michinaga: smiles, my favorite meditation is the point of a pencil touching paper
Ewan Bonham: Yes, all and anything that allows us to relax our minds..
stevenaia Michinaga: and to focus
stevenaia Michinaga: in an undistracted way
Lucinda Lavender: oh my! steve...
Lucinda Lavender: the children like watching the transformation of the pencil to the shaving..and that some pencils sharpen so much more finely!
Korel Laloix: I don't know if the word relax is the right one though.
Lucinda Lavender: consciously shift perhaps
Ewan Bonham: For me it is release..
Lucinda Lavender: for me it is my shoulders settling
Korel Laloix: When I do my meditations, if that is the right word, it is turing my mind fully on, but setting it to idle.
Korel Laloix: Maybe those are not the right words though.
Lucinda Lavender: idle on...
Lucinda Lavender: sounds good to me...
Ewan Bonham: For me, it is mindfulness in the moment..
--BELL--
stevenaia Michinaga: I remember there was a course in school, I forget the course title, but for the most part if was staring at the abstract drawing or image you were crating to fully understand it and move it to the next level, but what they were really teaching is meditation on an image, hart to understand that at the time
Ewan Bonham: I like the idea of the pencils..
Lucinda Lavender: the potential of the sharp pencil...on its way to creating. the next level
Korel Laloix: I am just thinking about the last time I actually touched a pencil outside of my makeup routine... smiles
Lucinda Lavender: :)
Lucinda Lavender: images that move to next levels...very interesting
Lucinda Lavender: the creativity piece
Korel Laloix: Sorry about teh bell.
Korel Laloix: I like mechanical ones... not the ones you have to sharpen.
stevenaia Michinaga: lesson 1: place two lines perpedicular to each other and the edges of the board varying only line thickness and placement, you have 4 weeks, go
Ewan Bonham: grin..
stevenaia Michinaga: I remember, Visual Training was the course title
Ewan Bonham: Does sound like mind training..
Lucinda Lavender: my husband says...perhaps you live in Pencilvania:)))
stevenaia Michinaga: lol
Ewan Bonham: Lol...
Korel Laloix: Silly.. smiles
Lucinda Lavender: a way of learning with that project?
Lucinda Lavender: that
stevenaia Michinaga: the lessons moved to more complexity, so yes
Lucinda Lavender: the product ...so challenging for me.
Korel Laloix: The product?
Lucinda Lavender: rather than the process...
Lucinda Lavender: the thing you create...
Korel Laloix: Oh OK.
stevenaia Michinaga: in fact, the process was as important as the product
stevenaia Michinaga: the lines were paper things, cut uniformly out of paper
Ewan Bonham: Always... even more..
stevenaia Michinaga: no fuzzy edges, lots of razor cut finders late at night
stevenaia Michinaga: *fingers
stevenaia Michinaga: a rite of passage, learning to not be stupid with sharp objects
Lucinda Lavender: hours spent too...
Lucinda Lavender: creating proficiency.
Korel Laloix smiles.. I ran a half marathon carrying scissors once for a charity thing.
Lucinda Lavender: :))))))
Ewan Bonham: Scissors?
stevenaia Michinaga: kept you sharp?
Ewan Bonham: Made sure you did not stab yourself?
Korel Laloix: It attracted far more attention than I wanted it to for sure.
--BELL--
Paradise Tennant: smiles and waves all round :)
stevenaia Michinaga: Hi Paradise
Lucinda Lavender: hiya Para!
Korel Laloix: Hyea
Lucinda Lavender: what have we been talking about?
stevenaia Michinaga: Rituals and meditation
Lucinda Lavender: the ways of meditation, ritual, pencil sharpening, release, ...they all were joining in.
Lucinda Lavender: and running
Korel Laloix: with scissors
Lucinda Lavender: with scissors
stevenaia Michinaga: with sissors
stevenaia Michinaga: :)
Lucinda Lavender: hahah
Paradise Tennant: running is great meditation
Korel Laloix: That is how I do it for sure
Paradise Tennant: that rythmic sound of your feet hitting the pavement .. so calming
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, and your breath becomes part of the music
stevenaia Michinaga: I used to run (a long time ago)
Lucinda Lavender: rhythmic breathing
Lucinda Lavender: Luci thinks of the marathon runners...
Lucinda Lavender: and wishes for blessings for all our breathing
Korel Laloix: I ran my last marathon a couple of months ago.. not desire to do that again.
Korel Laloix: I love a good half thogh.
Paradise Tennant: when you do it a lot you can get to that floaty space
Paradise Tennant: where it does not feel like any effort
Korel Laloix: That is very true.. until about mile 22.
stevenaia Michinaga: :)
Korel Laloix: after that, you notice every step.. twice
Lucinda Lavender: :))
Lucinda Lavender: for me 22 is about Dreaming
Korel Laloix: Yes.. dreaming of when it will be over.. smiles
Lucinda Lavender: the nuber I mean
Lucinda Lavender: number
Lucinda Lavender: :))
Lucinda Lavender: maybe new information comes with that dreaming
Paradise Tennant: what does a 22 number dream look like luci ?
Lucinda Lavender: Ihave never run a marathon so I do not really know
Lucinda Lavender: It is a number associated with the dream work I have studied
Lucinda Lavender: and it is about hearing the information of the void
Lucinda Lavender: and it is located in the body in the womb/or a similar area on a male
Lucinda Lavender: a place deep inside that is creative
Lucinda Lavender: just a place on my mental map
Lucinda Lavender: that tunes in to the cosmos
--BELL--
stevenaia Michinaga: I get to walk up 5 floors of steps every day :)
Lucinda Lavender: good job!!
stevenaia Michinaga: in my new office
Lucinda Lavender: do you find it gets easier?
Korel Laloix: I like stairs... glad I have two sets in this appartment
stevenaia Michinaga: sorry, missdirected text
stevenaia Michinaga: they are marble stairs
Lucinda Lavender: cool:))
Lucinda Lavender: Luci imagines Korel running uo and down
Lucinda Lavender: in a loopa
Lucinda Lavender: loop
Korel Laloix: When I need a pulse raisor when studying I will just go upa nd down a couple of times.
Korel Laloix: Gets me back in the head game.
Lucinda Lavender: sometimes that is very helpful.
Paradise Tennant: use to find .. .would a run or swim was always so nice after a long bout of studying
Ewan Bonham: For me, it is bike riding..
Paradise Tennant: smiles
Korel Laloix: Getting out on an open highway on the Buell is very mind clearning as well.
Paradise Tennant: yes when you clear out your mind it is always a wonder at how it got so crowded
stevenaia Michinaga: amazing looking bikes, Korel
Ewan Bonham: And how you are able to clear it by refocusing..
Korel Laloix: I think I clear, then refocus....
