Yaku (yakuzza.lethecus): just been curiou,s about some electronics stuff and am in sweden on vacation

Yaku (yakuzza.lethecus): arduinos are based on 8bit microcontrollers from atmel

Yaku (yakuzza.lethecus): it´s pretty popular DIY electronics stuff, but it´s getting interesting when more devices are connected and more sensors are build in

Zen (zen.arado): you could make a computer
Yaku (yakuzza.lethecus): i don´t know enough to really talk about that, i only changed some code to see humidity and temperature on a webinterface but i can´t really create anything without tutorials yet

Yaku (yakuzza.lethecus): that´s the purpose, lately the raspberrypi´s became a lot more popular
Zen (zen.arado): I started an electronics course one time but it was all maths calculations
Yaku (yakuzza.lethecus): i thought you´ve been working with electronics before humanity´s cought you

Zen (zen.arado): I did a general technology degree

Zen (zen.arado): useful for me because I wroked in a power station

Zen (zen.arado): so you are working with a transducer to measure humidity
Yaku (yakuzza.lethecus): that´s for example what ppl like to do with their arduino´s, putting a lot of sensors in them and experimenting robots or homeautomatisation
Zen (zen.arado): I would love to have an Anybot robot
Zen (zen.arado): I could have one in America and meet people from SL
Yaku (yakuzza.lethecus): i bought only a few sensors so far, dht22 for humidity and temperature, a PIR sensor that should switch the lights on when i am moving the flat at some point, these things of course all exist but it´s quiet interesting to make it oneself
Zen (zen.arado): I wonder how it measure humidity
Zen (zen.arado): it must have a substance that changes the amount of electrical current passes through when the humidity changes
Yaku (yakuzza.lethecus): hmm maybe resitance changes on the chip depending on humidity level, i don´t know actually
