Alfred Kelberry: wow, this is the news!
Alfred Kelberry: pema has entered the private sector space race!
stevenaia Michinaga: I think he's been there for a while
stevenaia Michinaga: was amazed to read about it in a local paper
stevenaia Michinaga: thinking it sounded familiar :)
Alfred Kelberry: this is very exciting initiative
stevenaia Michinaga: he seems to have his fingers in diverse and interesting things
Santoshima Resident: thanks for the link, Stevenaia
Alfred Kelberry: sadly he's not in sl anymore. i'd love him to host a b612 theme session :)
Eos Amaterasu: Pema has been involved in the asteroid detection community for a while
Alfred Kelberry: on the other hand, i'm glad he puts more effort into hard science rather than on play here in sl :)
stevenaia Michinaga: I'll pull the weight of the WG and see what can be done about that
Eos Amaterasu: Hercules was looking for you; needs a job done
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
stevenaia Michinaga: kind words can move mountains
Eos Amaterasu: "the curve is mightier than the sword" - Mae West
Eos Amaterasu: meanwhile, any concluding or other words on Masks?
Alfred Kelberry: the cost of their proposed spacecraft is only a few hundred milion dollars
Alfred Kelberry: also, the group has been around since 2002
Alfred Kelberry: what caused this sudden interest by the media now?
Eos Amaterasu: I think there's a current movie about an asteroid impact
stevenaia Michinaga: the proposed a schedule, a design, funding
    Alfred Kelberry: eos, title please?
stevenaia Michinaga: there was that bruce willis one about it Arrmageddon

Eos Amaterasu: 70 mile wide asteroid on way to earth
Alfred Kelberry: "NASA, along with all government agencies, is under severe budget pressure right now" - fuck investment casino bankers!

Alfred Kelberry: grr, makes me angry each time i read those crisis budget comments
Alfred Kelberry: eos, oh! i think i've seen an ad

Alfred Kelberry: "does anyone wants to be cfo? anyone?!" - haha :)
Eos Amaterasu: We're on the road to nowhere....
    stevenaia Michinaga: lol
Alfred Kelberry: so, hollywood has to come up with a movie about an asteroid for the media to notice b612
stevenaia Michinaga: probably how it should really happen
    Alfred Kelberry: amen
Eos Amaterasu: it ain't real if it's not on film (so to speak)
stevenaia Michinaga: perhaps a fundraising ploy, what do they call that product placement
Eos Amaterasu: welll, they had 60,000,000 years to prepare for Matilda....
    Santoshima Resident: waltzing
Alfred Kelberry: well, i think the probability of an impact is minuscule, but nonetheless it's a cool project
    Eos Amaterasu: 2029
stevenaia Michinaga: nice to know where they are
Alfred Kelberry: i'm quite confident of an asteroid free life until 2050 - so i'm covered, i think :)
stevenaia Michinaga: is that your masks list stand eos?
