    Paradise Tennant: got a new computer at work with a 27 inch screen .. now I have screen lust :) want one that size at home too
    stevenaia Michinaga: in a pinck I jsut plug mine into the lcd tv

    Paradise Tennant: never tried it
    stevenaia Michinaga: there are adapters for everything
    Paradise Tennant: sigh yes ..and we so quickly get use to faster
    Paradise Tennant: have wind up clocks .. which I really enjoy .. they last 7 days and then you have to wind them again
    stevenaia Michinaga: I have a small one I use that moves on a stand to to the table, it;s actually lower rez than my laptop but works for "other screen stuff" like text and email while I work
    stevenaia Michinaga: do they fill your house with ticking?
    Paradise Tennant: yes and chining
    Paradise Tennant: I can only wind them when I don't have company
    Paradise Tennant: if I know someone is coming to stay I let them wind down

    Paradise Tennant: somehow when you owns something for a long time it gets a kind of cozy feel to it
    Paradise Tennant: this was an old wooden on veyr sturdy
    Paradise Tennant: eventually the handle dried out and snapped
    stevenaia Michinaga: it may be able to be repaired, shoes used to be repairable
    Paradise Tennant: smiles possibly ..
    Paradise Tennant: blnks and thinks of where she would find an umbrella repair man
    Paradise Tennant: still resole my shoes

    stevenaia Michinaga: There is a happy ending to this story: the kind people at Toronto store Raindrops have offered to have a look at my umbrella and see if it can be easily fixed – although they don't officially repair umbrellas, they can do minor work. Wish my umbrella luck!

    Paradise Tennant: I bought a replacement a lovely italian one .. which I had a very short time before guilt made me give it away

    Paradise Tennant: I had borrowed a collegue's late one rainy night and promptly left his a cab so came in the next morning contrite bearing wine and my lovely umbrella as a peace offering

    Paradise Tennant: he most certainly did was very pleased with the deal
    stevenaia Michinaga: my son at 4 yrs once left his teddybear in a cab in montreal, the cabbie cam back and delivered t to the apartment we were staying at where he left us off
