Bleu Oleander: we visited this lab
Eliza Madrigal clicks
Bleu Oleander: sooo cool what they are doing
Louis Onyett: At least we think so
szavanna Resident: :) lets see
Bleu Oleander: a game to map the brain
Bleu Oleander: anyone can join them
Bleu Oleander: I would sooo go to MIT if I could lol
Louis Onyett: My map keeps coming back mostly blank. Is that a bad thing?
Bleu Oleander: haha!
Eliza Madrigal: you are very prepared to attend MIT in next life, Bleu
Bleu Oleander: lol
Louis Onyett: Nice to be back with all of you, btw.
Bleu Oleander: felt like they were zooming past me
Eliza Madrigal: so nice for you to be here too
Eliza Madrigal: how so?
Louis Onyett: I would check out UCSD or Standford. Nicer.
Bleu Oleander: nice to see you here Louji
Louis Onyett: My younger brother went to both. Lucky him.
Bleu Oleander: yes I love UCSD
Bleu Oleander: have had a few trips there
Bleu Oleander: "neuron valley"
Louis Onyett: Ha. And, guess MIT is for slouches, exactly.
Bleu Oleander: Stanford may be our next trip
Bleu Oleander: lol
szavanna Resident: I went to Eotvos Lorand Tudomany Egyetem °͜°

szavanna Resident: I introduced Sex Pistols in the English dept
szavanna Resident: n stuff
Bleu Oleander: lol
Eliza Madrigal: @@ :))
szavanna Resident: ok it was not me
szavanna Resident: hehe but a prof did that
Bleu Oleander: hehe
szavanna Resident: called John Drew
Eliza Madrigal: I did it myyyyyy wayyyyy
Bleu Oleander: lol
Bleu Oleander: don't we all haha
szavanna Resident: lalalaaa
Louis Onyett: Seems like yesterday...but it turns out it wasn't
Eliza Madrigal: bit o this way, bit o that
Louis Onyett: lol
Bleu Oleander: so any good conversations that I missed this week?
Bleu Oleander: don't even know what theme is lol
Eliza Madrigal was not in SL much actually, but enjoyed the retreat session
Eliza Madrigal: "thoughts as things"
Bleu Oleander: feels funny to be typing again lol
Bleu Oleander: oh how did that go Eliza?
szavanna Resident: I also missed a lot of that
szavanna Resident: sounds like such an interesting topic
Eliza Madrigal: was pleasant... simple.... enjoyed this setting
szavanna Resident: ahh I loved the retreat
szavanna Resident: lookin forward to tomorrow
Bleu Oleander: nice!
Eliza Madrigal: "thoughts as things" is really interesting and Riddle had some fun with it, although I'm not sure in other sessions we really grasped the angle
Bleu Oleander: will have to read his log
Bleu Oleander: one of the most interesting conversations we had was on dreams
Eliza Madrigal listens
Bleu Oleander: our group will participate in a dream study too
--BELL--</still>
<still and="" bleuji="" br="" by="" cute="" distracted="" how="" sunji="">
Eliza Madrigal: interesting - what sort?
Bleu Oleander: we will be investigating the uniqueness of dreams
szavanna Resident: :)
Louis Onyett: hmmm, uniqueness?
Bleu Oleander: so will be included in a paper with the results
Bleu Oleander: pretty cool :)
Eliza Madrigal: so basically you will be logging dreams and then there will be a database for comparison?
szavanna Resident: Bleuji does such cool stuff
Bleu Oleander: yes exactly
Louis Onyett: Dreams are unique, but I guess will share characteristics
Bleu Oleander: yes
Bleu Oleander: some of the basics are very similar
Louis Onyett: Wonder if the more unique dreams will be self filtered...
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Louis Onyett: They can be too hard to explain or whatever
Bleu Oleander: of course there will be some self filtering
Bleu Oleander: no "naming names"
Bleu Oleander: lol
Louis Onyett: lol
Eliza Madrigal: interesting that the first thing that I thought of about the topic, was dreams too - I guess because they are the easiest/most tangible way to see that things are thoughts
Eliza Madrigal: that feeling when first waking from an immersive dream... sure that the meeting one was in there was going on
Bleu Oleander: yes, our conversation on Quantum Beauty was related also
szavanna Resident: looks up - quantum beauty?
Bleu Oleander: seems the very smallest parts of reality are embodies ideas
Eliza Madrigal: :::tentacles become more alert;;;;; interesting new phrase
szavanna Resident: ;D:D
Louis Onyett: Hmm, alert tentacles?
Bleu Oleander: still one of my fav books - The Lightness of Being
Eliza Madrigal: noodle knowing
Bleu Oleander: Wilczek
Eliza Madrigal: is he also the person who talks of time crystals?
Bleu Oleander: yes
Eliza Madrigal: ah he is... have been reading this: http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/20...n%252Bfacebook
Eliza Madrigal: (able to see it? it is a FB link)
Bleu Oleander: he's the smartest person I know :D
Eliza Madrigal: love to read smart people who haven't lost their joy
Bleu Oleander: he's great
Eliza Madrigal: do you keep dream records Louis or Sun?
szavanna Resident: no never tried
Bleu Oleander: i'm going to have to learn how to do that
szavanna Resident: I have had lots scary ones and very vivid also
Bleu Oleander: short term memory of dreams is not good
Bleu Oleander: so much try to remember right away
Eliza Madrigal: it is a skill, to learn to remember
Bleu Oleander: and write down
Bleu Oleander: yes
Eliza Madrigal: a voice recorder in bed is a good idea if spouse doesn't mind :)
Bleu Oleander: yes
Eliza Madrigal: funny to hear sleepy self talking jibberish sometimes the next day, hah
Bleu Oleander: haha
szavanna Resident: lol imagines
szavanna Resident: "and then I walked into a dark alley"
Bleu Oleander: lol
szavanna Resident: "and there was a zulu"
szavanna Resident: "I fainted"
Louis Onyett: Have not journaled dreams since a young age
Eliza Madrigal: hehe
Bleu Oleander: Sunji lol
szavanna Resident: ;D
szavanna Resident: just tested how it would sound
Louis Onyett: Was interesting how vivid recall is
szavanna Resident: recording right after I wake up
Eliza Madrigal: I find it amazing... the boundary
Bleu Oleander: yes
Eliza Madrigal: I journal "moments of uncanny" now... only occasionally a dream
szavanna Resident: hmmm yes it is
--BELL--</still>
<still and="" bleuji="" br="" by="" cute="" distracted="" how="" sunji="">
Bleu Oleander: "moments of uncanny" say more?
Eliza Madrigal: got the idea from Fox, our PaB dream researcher...
Eliza Madrigal: had heard of people noticing synchronicities before... and had tried that
Eliza Madrigal: since to me, it seems like one of the things noting dreams does, is allow one to see dreamy moments in waking life...
Eliza Madrigal: but it was a little complicated and felt like trying to nail down magic to do that...
Eliza Madrigal: so now, if it seems natural I'll just make a tiny note
Eliza Madrigal: something uncanny that popped up
szavanna Resident: what is uncanny?
Bleu Oleander: nice
szavanna Resident: asks the natives
Eliza Madrigal: rarely if a dream is intricate I'll write it out
szavanna Resident: ;p
Eliza Madrigal: lol Sun
Louis Onyett: You are killing me, since I find it hard just to take a not about what I eat
Louis Onyett: *note
Eliza Madrigal: something "off" - I guess it fits with dralas too
Eliza Madrigal: :) Louis
szavanna Resident: something off?
Eliza Madrigal: well this has been an evolution over years
szavanna Resident: weird?
Eliza Madrigal: mhm...
Bleu Oleander: nstance where something can be familiar, yet foreign at the same time, resulting in a feeling of it being uncomfortably strange or uncomfortably familiar
szavanna Resident: ah
Eliza Madrigal: like, the way in a lucid dream one knows they are dreaming is that something is a bit strange
Eliza Madrigal: and one sort of takes it as a cue
Eliza Madrigal: this happens in waking life too :)
szavanna Resident: is it true that you can actually control your dreams?
Bleu Oleander: a cue?
Eliza Madrigal: a "you are dreaming" cue
Bleu Oleander: ah ok
Eliza Madrigal: like in the Matrix when there was a double cat
Eliza Madrigal: sort of interesting to think about too since once we talked about beauty as off spots ^.^
Eliza Madrigal: deja vu can be uncanny
szavanna Resident: aha
szavanna Resident: °͜°
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Bleu Oleander: day dreaming, hallucinations, etc can be very interesting to log ... yes deja vu also
Eliza Madrigal nods nods
Eliza Madrigal: but would be more fun with others and a whole database :)
szavanna Resident: I find these things sort of "logical"
szavanna Resident: the deja vu moments
Eliza Madrigal: yes?
szavanna Resident: because I think we live the same life ;o) you knoww
Louis Onyett: This whole conversation sounds vaguely familiar...
Eliza Madrigal giggles
Bleu Oleander: so now for the first time and just very basically we are looking into the brain during these different states of consciousness
szavanna Resident: we all have similar experiences
szavanna Resident: and sometimes they can be really reallly similar
Bleu Oleander: hehe Louji
Eliza Madrigal: ah! that was an interesting conversation last week... Xs was saying she "remembered" people while she was with them right then
Eliza Madrigal: it was sort of a quantum reincarnation view :)
Eliza Madrigal: so Louis could remember being Bleu... in that view
Bleu Oleander: what is quantum reincarnation?
Eliza Madrigal: :)
szavanna Resident: quantum what?
szavanna Resident: ;p
szavanna Resident: looks up
Bleu Oleander: :P
Eliza Madrigal: let me give link to sessoin... Xs is a writer and articulates really fun sensibilities
Bleu Oleander: Louji being Bleuji ... I'll lend you my blue violets outfit :)
szavanna Resident: Xs is fun :)
Louis Onyett: Well, I could not remember being Bleu and Louis at the same time due to uncertainty
Bleu Oleander: hehe
Eliza Madrigal: https://wiki.playasbeing.org/Chat_Logs/2013/04/2013.04.21_01%3a00_-_Remembering
Eliza Madrigal smiles at Louis
Louis Onyett: Different interesting note on memory
Bleu Oleander: spooky action for sure lol
Zen Arado: 's current display-name is "Zen".
Louis Onyett: Memory is the only time travel I can vouch for
Bleu Oleander: hi Zenji
szavanna Resident: ZenDJi
szavanna Resident: °͜°
Eliza Madrigal: ah, nods
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Zen :)
Louis Onyett: and, it doesn't' violate any of the conundrums
Zen Arado: Hi all
Eliza Madrigal: do you have a list of conundrums?
Eliza Madrigal: that is sort of like moments of uncanny ^^
Bleu Oleander: ah but memory always happens in the present
Louis Onyett: Well, I didn't kill my parents in any of my memories for example
szavanna Resident: ;))
szavanna Resident: what?
Bleu Oleander: hehe
szavanna Resident: thank god ;o)
Eliza Madrigal: there go those filters again
Louis Onyett: can't run into the problems with time travel with memories since you didn't do anything that hurts the current timeline
Louis Onyett: Plus, you can't go forward. Another challenge with other types
Louis Onyett: lol
Bleu Oleander: lol
Zen Arado: the notion of time travel requires a very linear view?
Eliza Madrigal: well Xs was saying that she could indeed remember great-grandchildren yet to be born, with this idea
Bleu Oleander: going forward is def a challenge lol
--BELL--
Eliza Madrigal: Aggers is stomping her foot...
Eliza Madrigal: better get to guardians session
Bleu Oleander: bye all
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Bleu Oleander: thanks for coming
Zen Arado: BFN
Eliza Madrigal: bye Bleu - thanks so much for a fun session
szavanna Resident: °͜° ty and see u there
Eliza Madrigal: yay
szavanna Resident: that was funji
Louis Onyett: Nice as always.
szavanna Resident: waves her tentacles
Bleu Oleander: byeji</still>
