"Wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world,
The heart has its beaches, its homeland and thoughts of its own.
Wake now, discover that you are the song that the mornin brings,
But the heart has its seasons, its evenins and songs of its own....."

Hello and Meeho chooses it, black and white ...

Caledonia Heron: hey there Maxine :)
    Maxine Walden: hi, Cal
Caledonia Heron: how are you today?
Maxine Walden: well, thanks and you?
Caledonia Heron: hey there Meeho :)
    Meeho Putzo: hey ladies
    Maxine Walden: hi, Meeho
Maxine Walden: I'm not sure we have met, Meeho, nice to meet you
Caledonia Heron: care to join us - we are having a discussion group - play as being - discussing the nature of reality , something light and airy first thing in the day :)
Meeho Putzo: what what alright then
    Meeho Putzo: so uh...
Caledonia Heron: you can read about it at http:..... loading url, sorry taking a bit
    Meeho Putzo: kkkk
    Caledonia Heron:
    Caledonia Heron: bye :)
Maxine Walden: nice to have such a definitive reaction
    Caledonia Heron: lol
Caledonia Heron: yes, no question about choice on that one :)
Maxine Walden: not a gray strand anywhere
    Caledonia Heron: lol, agreed

    Ethics and being ...

    Caledonia Heron: what's up today?
    Caledonia Heron: busy workload?
Maxine Walden: yes, busy most days, but I try to come to at least one of the meetings where you are goc, we seem to have interesting discussions
    Caledonia Heron: awwww, shucks :)
    Caledonia Heron: yes, I agree
Maxine Walden: not to put pressure...
Maxine Walden: had an interesting middle of the night experience:
Caledonia Heron: really? do tell :)
    Caledonia Heron: hey Adams :)
    Caledonia Heron: good timing
Maxine Walden: was awaken by an intense realization -- hi, Adams
Caledonia Heron: Maxine is about to tell a story :)
Adams Dubrovna: hello Maxine and Cal. Don't let me interrupt
Maxine Walden: an intense realization about how to deal with an ethical question
Maxine Walden: arising in my organization.
    Caledonia Heron: [just starting]

    Ethics and procedure ...

Maxine Walden: As background, I have just left the leadership of a small organization which I founded about 9 years ago, others are appropriately taking over, new leadership etc
Caledonia Heron: sure, a transition time
Maxine Walden: and there just came to light a festering issue, concern about an ethical issue
    Caledonia Heron: uh-oh
Maxine Walden: which was addressed during my time but seems not entirley
Maxine Walden: and the awakening involved a sudden intense awareness that
Maxine Walden: the thing to do was for leadership to promptly gather together the involved parties, and address the issue in a containing fashion, and then go to the students with this situation, which is not in people's mind, as a lesson about the need for clear
    Maxine Walden: procedures re ethical concerns. To do otherwise seems appear as hiding things, keeping secrets. Guess the bottom line here is the issue of privacy vs apparent secrecy;
Maxine Walden: But there is also the issue that I am not longer the leader, tho I am an ex officio advisor
Caledonia Heron: which carries it's own gravitas I would think
Caledonia Heron: perhaps there can be transparency while maintaining privacy
Caledonia Heron: that is the ethical issue, correct?
Maxine Walden: I think that is key, Cal
Caledonia Heron: to inform yet respect privacy?
Maxine Walden: yes, to inform and to let the students, who are trying among other things, to learn about how to address clarity of boundaries, to let them know of procedures for this

Giving it away; passing on leadership to others ...

Adams Dubrovna: That is one of the hardest things to do, to allow others to take over leadership while still advising them
Caledonia Heron: makes sense to me to put it in the open and establish the procedure
    Caledonia Heron: agreed Adams ....
Maxine Walden: maybe why it comes up right now is that I was so intensely awoken by this 'realization' and how to relate to that realization: a valuable insight or something which an old leader feels she needs to impose
    Adams Dubrovna: Hello Steve :)
Caledonia Heron: ah, the fact that you awoke to the realization .... interesting
Maxine Walden: yes, it woke me up, it was that intense
Caledonia Heron: it seems significant when that happens
    stevenaia Michinaga: hello
Caledonia Heron: hey there stevenaia :)
Maxine Walden: and I could not really go back to sleep until I phoned my thoughts into the voicemail of hte new president, not waking her but putting it out there for her consideration today
    Maxine Walden: hi Steve
Caledonia Heron: wow - you acted on it right then
Maxine Walden: I think so, respecting the intensity of the experience as communication
Caledonia Heron: I see that .... maybe follow up later today, see if she got your meaning

Hearing more acutely at night ...

Maxine Walden: as if it were coming from a Being aspect, which in my lingo is the unconscience.
Caledonia Heron: a whole other interesting aspect ... being as the unconscious
Maxine Walden: sorry to fill the airwaves, but guess my inner airwaves were filled pretty full with this stuff. But once i phoned it to the new pres I could rest
Caledonia Heron: no apology required, it's on your mind and an interesting ethical question
Adams Dubrovna: It is amazing how often clear answrs seem to come in the middle of thje night
    Maxine Walden: agree, Adams
Maxine Walden: as if when the noise of the day recedes some of these clarion things can come through
    Adams Dubrovna: yes
Caledonia Heron: yes the signal to noise ratio is more discernable

    White noise ...

    Caledonia Heron: hi Magdalena :)
    Adams Dubrovna: hello Magdalena
    Maxine Walden: hi Magdalena
Magdalena Colclough: HI Cal, Adams, Max, Steve
stevenaia Michinaga: hmmm, were were talking a bit about "white noise" last night
    stevenaia Michinaga: Hi Maggie
Caledonia Heron: was there a conclusion about "white noise"?
stevenaia Michinaga: better copy what was posted, I was kind of out of it
Caledonia Heron: ok, prolly on the wiki too?
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, I posted it last night
stevenaia Michinaga: I'll find it in a sec

    Processing signals ...

Maxine Walden: suddenly I am confused...
    Caledonia Heron: how come Maxine?
    Adams Dubrovna: Yes maxine?
Maxine Walden: the 'white noise' referring to something else than our previous topic?
Adams Dubrovna: "White Noise" might be a good description for what is happening in my brain every night lately
stevenaia Michinaga: I think it relates to the intensity of our surroundings
stevenaia Michinaga: Threedee Shepherd: The white noise analogy suggests that as the noise increases equally it wraps around the other side and meets calmness
Caledonia Heron: I think a tangent Maxine ... we were discussing being able to understand things at night when the signal is clear and Steve hyperjumped to white noise ... I think that's the linkage :)
Maxine Walden: ah...thanks, Cal that was my supposition
    stevenaia Michinaga: seemed relates
    stevenaia Michinaga: related
Caledonia Heron: sure, about processing signals , said in different ways :)
Magdalena Colclough: I'm sorry--I have to go
    Caledonia Heron: bye Magdalena :)
    Maxine Walden: bye Magdalena

    Hello mind, meet body ...

Adams Dubrovna: And the calmness might just be ignoring the racket :)
Maxine Walden: white noise for me suggests that there is little value in the 'noise' and maybe discerning what is of value to process and what not is a question here
Caledonia Heron: by stating that you interpret being as the unconscious Maxine do you mean that we are typically unconscious of being or that it *is* being?
Caledonia Heron: yes, agree Maxine, to me white noise is background to the perceived relevant signals
Maxine Walden: more the latter, Cal. Thinking of the vast region of the unconscious as very similar to what Pema and others are calling Being...not quite the same but in the neighborhood
Maxine Walden: and that the unconscious regions seem full of wisdom, kaleidoscopic in nature, if we can just 'listen'.
stevenaia Michinaga: work intrudes, I will see you later
Maxine Walden: Often messages come in bodily symptoms if we cannot hear or pay attention with our minds due to 'traffic'
    Caledonia Heron: bye stevenaia :)
Maxine Walden: Often messages come in dreams...
Adams Dubrovna: My current experience seems to indeicate to me that there is more speaking to me than some inner wisdom
Maxine Walden: and it seems the unconscious is the storehouse of experience and fantasy we cannot/do not keep in mind
Maxine Walden: ah, Adams, would like to hear more
Caledonia Heron: messages in symptoms such as waking up, forgetfulness, illness, systemic illness, etc
Caledonia Heron: which is represented in dreams Adams?
Adams Dubrovna: In my waking periods there is some distant noise going on
Maxine Walden: yes, interesting to think that nearly all experience including illness holds messages
    Adams Dubrovna: wakeful
Adams Dubrovna: Stim had indicated it is my body that is unsettled
Maxine Walden: (listening for Adams to say more)
Caledonia Heron: as it's own entity Maxine?
Adams Dubrovna: Most indications seem it is although I have had a few nights where thoughts started coming
Maxine Walden: not sure of the question, Cal
Caledonia Heron: [will table thread to hear Adams]
Adams Dubrovna: It seems to be subsiding a little now or I am paying less attention, one or the other
Adams Dubrovna: But it seems to me to be just noise
Adams Dubrovna: Does that make any sense?
Adams Dubrovna wonders if he is just too tired to care anymore
Maxine Walden: (trying to pick up the thread) oh, Adams, sounds discouraged
Caledonia Heron: I think I get it ... that your sleep is filled with thoughts and dreams that sometimes seem like noise to you?
Adams Dubrovna: The wakeful periods aren't as clearly efined as they were
Adams Dubrovna: No I am not really discouraged. I am more waiting it out :)
Adams Dubrovna: Maybe a little bored with whatever it is that is going on :)
Caledonia Heron: maybe you have the microscope turned on, or said another the way focus returns is when you focus less
Adams Dubrovna: not all that interesting while it is happening
Adams Dubrovna: Interested that there has been a subtle change

To sleep perchance to dream ...

Maxine Walden: seems there may be different lenses to bring, different ways to perceive and make sense of 'stuff' from our interior. Maybe the issue is which lens/point of view to use
    Maxine Walden: subtle change?
Adams Dubrovna: If it IS the body, then I do not know how to listen
Adams Dubrovna: Yes <maxine, change in that the boundaries between wakefulness and sleep are less defined for me now
Caledonia Heron: am I getting it right that you posit the mind and body are separate?
Adams Dubrovna: Well, up to the last month or so, I had not considered the body into the equation Cal
Maxine Walden: In my experience I try to pay as much attention to what a physical symptom as a signal about an emotional element as a fleeting thought or dream
Caledonia Heron: ah, ok I get it better now
Adams Dubrovna: So I am just learning how the body can affect the mind in a big way
Adams Dubrovna: Well mine still comes from the October 4 experience with the "great space"
Adams Dubrovna hoping his wakefulness is not starting to get boring for everyone else too
    Caledonia Heron: :)
Maxine Walden: not boring at all, Adams.
Maxine Walden: I am often wakeful these days and I am taking the attitude that the mind/self is trying to do something in that wakefulness,
Maxine Walden: to do something creative...so just try to let it be.
Adams Dubrovna: Yes, maxine. I have sort of just learned to live with it
Maxine Walden: And not get too stirred up by the worries of 'not enought sleep'
Adams Dubrovna: waiting to see what happens
    Maxine Walden: agree, Adams
    Adams Dubrovna: (yawn)

Is being hard to bear? ...

Caledonia Heron: maybe nothing happens :)
Maxine Walden: trying not to fight what might be natural processes
    Adams Dubrovna: :)
Caledonia Heron: maybe you are describing a lull, an ebb after a period of high activity?
Maxine Walden: right, maybe nothing happens, but might be good to try to clear away the worries, fretting about 'not sleeping'
    Caledonia Heron: take your vitamins!
    Adams Dubrovna: haha Cal
Maxine Walden: maybe this is an aspect of 'being that is hard to bear: not sleeping or having these periods which we fear will be depleting...
    Maxine Walden: yes, Cal, !!
Maxine Walden: and hard to trust that something creative ishappening
Adams Dubrovna: Yes, maxine. I have been surprised that I have been very productive during most of this period
    Maxine Walden: Me too, mostly
Maxine Walden: (gotta go in a minute or two)
    Caledonia Heron: :)
Adams Dubrovna: It was great to share our experiences
    Caledonia Heron: for sure
Maxine Walden: agree, Adams and Cal, these are very nice conversations
Maxine Walden: OK, will go now
Maxine Walden: see you all soon
Adams Dubrovna: Bye Maxine. Have a good day :)
Caledonia Heron: bye Maxine, nice to see you :)

A really big hatrack for everyone ...

Caledonia Heron: I hear a "sigh" in your remarks .... you are ok, yes?
Adams Dubrovna: Yes, thank you. You are perceptive to pick it up :)
Caledonia Heron: ok, good .... this is [insert descriptor] business we're engaged in .... not always clear what's happening ... to me anyway :)
Adams Dubrovna: Well, one thing is that we all ebb and flow
Adams Dubrovna: I don't usually pick it up either unless someone says it outright
Caledonia Heron: yeah, I know ... sometimes I swing one way to the other big time... sometimes feel like I need a do-over to clean things up ... aye carumba
Adams Dubrovna: I keep finding myself trying to sum things up; try to organize it (like a good librarian)
Caledonia Heron: yeah, I am a librarian too, always thought I'd hire a cataloger while I ran the joint :)
Adams Dubrovna could use a cataloger
Caledonia Heron: but I find I catalog like nobody's business :)
    Adams Dubrovna: :)
Adams Dubrovna: The problems with a small staffed operation
Caledonia Heron: yes, one person with a large hatrack ... new job? different hat :)
    Adams Dubrovna: :)
Adams Dubrovna: I haven;t found the right hat to understand Being yet
Caledonia Heron: lol, I think they all work :)
    Adams Dubrovna: :)
    Caledonia Heron: hey Coby :)
    Coby Footman: HI BABES
    Adams Dubrovna: hello Coby
    Caledonia Heron: HEY DUDE :)
    Coby Footman: HELLO ADAMS
Caledonia Heron: your caps are on Coby :)
Caledonia Heron: I have to take off - nice talking with you Adams :)
Caledonia Heron: see you round Coby :)
Adams Dubrovna: Yes, you too Cal. Thanks for the chat. Have a good day
    Adams Dubrovna: bye Coby
