Adams Rubble: I have been fairly quiet this week. Last night I was pondering the harmony between the inner and the outer and how the 9-seconds helps connect the two

Adams Rubble: I have been sleeping a little better the past few nights. Not sure if it is temporary or I am slowly sliding back to a normal state

Adams Rubble: I am beginning to see the harmony in that our various systems are working together
Adams Rubble: Without it we can not change our RL
Adams Rubble: The nine seconds may be a bridge for me
Adams Rubble: stopping and remembering
Pia Iger: what do you need to remember?
Faenik: why not?
Adams Rubble: For me I get wrapped up in stuff and need to remember there is a different way to look at it (just one facet)

Adams Rubble: It is hard for me to explain but I find I can get a big boost of mental energy by stopping regularly
Adams Rubble: I focus better on the things I am doing
genesis Zhangsun: by bringing changes into RL do you mean integrating this practice and insights into your RL life?

Adams Rubble: I began to see it differently last night
Adams Rubble: That any changes in RL were part of the harmony

Adams Rubble: When I started here one of my goals was to live a better life, to be more compassionate (hoping not to sound TOO pompous)

Adams Rubble: My thought was not all that deep to begin with unfortunately but I do see any changes in RL as being part of the harmony in ourselves
Adams Rubble: rather than we just deciding to do it
genesis Zhangsun: yes I agree that it isn't just about deciding
genesis Zhangsun: we clean the window so the light shines through more clearly
genesis Zhangsun: we don't just turn up the "on" button to make it brighter
genesis Zhangsun: its always there ready to come through
genesis Zhangsun: we are not the ones to decide whether it is "there"
genesis Zhangsun: but we can help...open the window...makes sure too much dust doesn't collect

Wol Euler: adams, I'm not sure I follow you. Are you saying that deciding doesn't make it happen? that happening requires that your inner state be in readiness for it?

Adams Rubble: Wol, we can't force it. It is our outer state that must be in harmony with our inner state for it to happen is what I am trying to say. Whether that is correct or not is another matter. That was my thought

Adams Rubble: I feel myself starting to come together I think
Moon Fargis: hmm maybe the only one who separates is your mind
Adams Rubble: I really feel it has been more than my mind keeping me awake for the last month
Moon Fargis: ahh but keeping you awake means that your thought can be restless
Wol Euler: or is it maybe like the overlapping parts of a Venn diagram? the coming together that you feel is the area of overlapping of the different bits becoming larger.
Adams Rubble: I have been watching my thoughts and they have been mostly calm
Wol Euler: no longer so separated, more in common with yourself
Adams Rubble: It has seemed to be my body which has been keeping me awake
Moon Fargis: ahyes okay, you know... there are layers of thought, responsible to dream or for a good sleep
Moon Fargis: ahh yes maybe something that is not produced
Moon Fargis: but .. maybe you just got a lack of enough... candy
Adams Rubble: A few nights I noticed some activate either very small or very distant in my peripheral vision. When I tried to look at it, it disappeared and has;t returned

Moon Fargis: ah you know there comes a state, in meditation when you lower the noise of your thoughts
Moon Fargis: ahh sure gaya

Moon Fargis: it can be possible you also lowered, or forced the lowering of the silent background thoughts who are responsible for you to dream

Moon Fargis: but thats just a possibility.. so much things can happen to cause sleepless nights
Adams Rubble: This has been a new experience for me. usually sleeplessness is accompanied by stress
