Adams Rubble: :)
Pema Pera: glad you made it, Eliza!

Pema Pera: it must affect you too, Adams?
Pema Pera: (just arrived in princeton in time)
Adams Rubble: Yes, I have an extra day of weekend :)

Vendy Walpole: Hello to everyone :)
Eliza Madrigal: haha..like me with rain storms...love it, when I don't have to drive
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Vendy
Vendy Walpole: thank you pema for the transport
Chiaiu Chiung: hi
Pema Pera: I guess Vendy came here yesterday for the first time, only to be swept of her feet by Moon's onigokko . . . . must be a curious introduction to Play as Being
Vendy Walpole: Pema*
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Susi Alcott: hi Vendy
Vendy Walpole: hi
Pema Pera admiring the way Stargate and Susi are dressed like brother and sister :-)This was Licia's first visit, seemingly not planned :).
Stargate Tone: hi Vendy
Stargate Tone: my this dress is a present from a friend :)*****
Pema Pera: :)
Pema Pera: it looks nice!
Pema Pera: like the snow outside my window
Adams Rubble: It is very pretty Stargate :)
Stargate Tone: felt more than honoured when I got it....
Vendy Walpole: does it have some symbolic meaning?
Stargate Tone: yes
Vendy Walpole: but a secret?
Vendy Walpole: smile
Stargate Tone: no
Stargate Tone: for all to see who wants :)****
Stargate Tone: maybe Pema's thought was not so far from the truth :)*
Pema Pera: :)
Pema Pera: the connection with the snow, you mean?
Susi Alcott: _/!\_
Stargate Tone: that too
Adams Rubble: and Susi too :)
Adams Rubble: like the snow
Vendy Walpole: this dress reminds me on Angel in disguise
Stargate Tone: but ...well..maybe more like a 'monk' :)
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Licia
Vendy Walpole: Angel who came to chech the things here on Earth :)
Adams Rubble: Hello Licia
Stargate Tone: thank you very much Vendy for your words <3
Pema Pera: hi Licia
Licia Cisse: hello...
Vendy Walpole: I see it in that way :)
Stargate Tone: hi LIcia
Susi Alcott: hi Licia
Eliza Madrigal: Hmm
Licia Cisse: i'm sorry..i really don't know where i am now...Licia quickly zoomed in on a PaB-like topic:
Stargate Tone: ..thinking that it's much how my friend sees me....yet; he lemme to be a human being :)****
Pema Pera: feel free to join us, Licia
Pema Pera: take a seat!
Adams Rubble: you are with friendly people Licia :)
Pema Pera: We get together a few times a day to chat about the nature of reality, and everything else, and we have a wiki http://playasbeing.wik.is/ -- We record our conversations there. Do you mind being included in our blogs?
Susi Alcott: _/!\_ yes Licia
Licia Cisse: np
Pema Pera: thanks!
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, nice Stargate.
Susi Alcott: >Pema's words
Licia Cisse: my english is very poor...
Licia Cisse: but thanx
Vendy Walpole: mine too, plase have a patience
Pema Pera: what is your native language, Licia?
Pema Pera: Italiano?
Licia Cisse: i'm frome rome...italian
Pema Pera: welcome!
Pema Pera: sono olandese
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble surprised to understand that
Licia Cisse: please continue your conversation...
Adams Rubble: we haven;t really started yet
Susi Alcott: sad that I again must go
Susi Alcott: have nice time
Adams Rubble: bye Susi
Pema Pera: bye Susi!
Susi Alcott: _/!\_
Eliza Madrigal: We tend to give one another time and space, so language becomes way less of an issue than can be
Vendy Walpole: bye
Licia Cisse: so you are talking about the nature of reality... thinghs like..quantuum..or energy ...or the map is not the territory???..:)I tried to extend the saying, adding a third element.
Eliza Madrigal: Bye Susi
buddha Nirvana: C u Susi:)
Stargate Tone: C U Susi
Pema Pera: more the map is not the territory, Licia
Eliza Madrigal: Licia, Oh sure...always have my attention there
Pema Pera: we are trying to go beyond words
Eliza Madrigal: Map is not the territory and PaB are very compatible ideas...having to do with boundaries and words
Eliza Madrigal: ...The finger pointing at the moon not being the moon...
Licia Cisse: i've studied brainwaves stuff... i practice meditation..and i think that "words" are a very poor way to describe reality..
buddha Nirvana: What technique of meditation do you pratice, Licia?
Licia Cisse: (absurd...i was searching a lesbian land..and i'm here talking to you now...someone would call it ..serendepity)
Eliza Madrigal: Stumbled in
Licia Cisse: I have my brainwaves record..i'm experiencing differents freq..
Adams Rubble: Many of us have stumbled in :)
Pema Pera: :)
Pema Pera: Hi Genesis!
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Genesis
Adams Rubble: Hello Genesis :)
buddha Nirvana: Go well everyone, C u later :)
Pema Pera: bye Buddha!
Adams Rubble: bye buddha
Pema Pera: You could even go one step further, and say that the map is not the territory is not reality -- these are three different things, map, territory, realityWe all had our views on the notion of territory.
Pema Pera: territory is still a particular way to judge reality, not really open
Eliza Madrigal: The map is not the territory makes me think immediately of approaching things "new"..not having fixed ideas about some things
Eliza Madrigal: I see that too
Pema Pera: yes, that is a great step! And then we can make a second stop
Adams Rubble: Yes Eliza...so helpful
Pema Pera: territory implies possession
Eliza Madrigal: Does it
Eliza Madrigal: Definition?
Pema Pera: or at least it implies boundaries, borders, defenses
Licia Cisse: no...territory in my vision implies environment...or the space where i live..mentally and phisically
Eliza Madrigal: I thought that's what the map does
Pema Pera: territorio
Licia Cisse: i think it's a semantic different concept
Eliza Madrigal: Hmm...stretching to see third stop....might take a second
Licia Cisse: yes...good italian Pema
Pema Pera: :)
Pema Pera: interesting that this word has such different associations
Pema Pera: of course we can choose how to use it
Licia Cisse: yes...the confusion of languages...it's in the bible too...:)
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: That's what SL is for
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Vendy Walpole: I am sorry, I am distracted by Ims from a friend who has a problem, better to go to her, she needs me
Pema Pera: yes, we are using words to go beyond words
Pema Pera: bye Vendy!
Eliza Madrigal: Bye Vendy
Vendy Walpole: see you soon
Adams Rubble: bye Vendy
Vendy Walpole: Bye
Licia Cisse: ciao Vendy
Chiaiu Chiung: bye
Vendy Walpole: friends....:)
Eliza Madrigal: For me the territory is wide open, and the map the boundaries imposed. And is the third being the territory?I threw the notion of appreciation into the mix.
Eliza Madrigal: Or not.... Ok...will take much more than a second :)
Adams Rubble: different kinds of maps
Adams Rubble: some with boundaries, some without
Pema Pera: take your time, Eliza :)
Licia Cisse: different kinds of perceptions of reality (territory)..or maybe, multiples realities?
Pema Pera: generally, when we draw maps, we draw maps of borders . . . they can be natural borders, but often they are political borders, which don't really exist in nature
Pema Pera: so the concept of a country and armies to defend that country and borders is one step removed from nature
Adams Rubble: yes..or of populations
Pema Pera: and the map is two steps removed
Pema Pera: a depiction of the idea of a country
Pema Pera: the word "territorial" indicates that kind of limitation
Pema Pera: but of course I'm happy to use the word in a more free sense, if we prefer :-)
Eliza Madrigal: I do see what you're saying....politically agreed upon lines...
Chiaiu Chiung: a map is intentionally designed to simplify things
Eliza Madrigal: Can be a fun way of thinking about words
Chiaiu Chiung: if it is contrasted with terrritory
Chiaiu Chiung: it makes sense to understand territory as open, or real
Licia Cisse: i don't know..maybe we are a talking about two differents concepts...i mean territory as my reality...
Pema Pera: that's fine too, of course!
Eliza Madrigal: Sure...can blend though...an idealistic "world without maps"
Eliza Madrigal: where no one "owns" lands...
Licia Cisse: and my reality...have no borders...my territory (reality )depends by personal map
Licia Cisse: and my map is different everyday
Licia Cisse: (i hope u can understand my poor eng..and my poor concepts..:) )
Pema Pera: your English is very very clear, Licia!
Adams Rubble: yes, you speak very well
Eliza Madrigal: Of course...and concepts are not poor
Licia Cisse: thanx
Pema Pera: we sometimes talk here about appreciation: about seeing everything as new, each momentLicia talked about working with brain waves.
Pema Pera: your map being new every day is probably very similar
Chiaiu Chiung: maybe the first step to do without map finally
Eliza Madrigal: Yes, to be able to "drop" the map and see things anew..
Chiaiu Chiung: the ultimate goal...
Licia Cisse: i think appreciation is a sort of imposition... the way i draw my map depends by my states of mind...
Pema Pera: imposition in what sense, Licia?
Licia Cisse: i can be free to not see everything as new, each moment
Licia Cisse: i repeat..it depends by my mind states
Pema Pera: yes, we have that freedom
Eliza Madrigal: Hm...I see appreciation as being the *point* of wanting to see things anew...enables a shedding of preconceived limitations maybe
Licia Cisse: imagine your map ...then drink 3 vodka...your map would be really different... (it's a paradox)
Eliza Madrigal: I'd then rely on someone else's map to get home :)
Licia Cisse: :)
Eliza Madrigal: haha
Pema Pera: :)
Licia Cisse: as i said..i'm experiencing with brainwaves..as a game...but it's powerfullAnd Eliza pointed out the portability of meditation.
Eliza Madrigal: I certainly don't mean to classify maps as a negative...or territory...
Licia Cisse: and in my experience..i can say that reality depends just by our mind state
Pema Pera: do you think it might be possible to drop mind states, Licia?
Chiaiu Chiung: to see only one reality?
Pema Pera: or perhaps not even one . . . .
Eliza Madrigal: Hm
Licia Cisse: no..i think that there ara some particular mind states where you can really paint your reality
Pema Pera: we are so used to jumping from state to state . . . a big question is whether it is possible to find an openness beyond states . . .
Pema Pera: when we try to drop what we have to see what we are, perhaps it really is possible to drop all states
Licia Cisse: well..try to hear a 10hz freq. for a 10 minutes...with your eyes closed
Licia Cisse: it's easy...
Licia Cisse: and it's great..you should try it..
Chiaiu Chiung: what will happen?
Licia Cisse: it's the same effect of meditation
Chiaiu Chiung: how do you play the 10 hz, with headphones?
Licia Cisse: you feel really relaxed..and really..you can see a lot of thinghs that generally are hidden by stress or other mental trash
Chiaiu Chiung: or special speakers?
Licia Cisse: wel..it's easy...there is a lot of software in the net
Chiaiu Chiung: i know, but how to play it
Chiaiu Chiung: my speakers are good, but i doubt they play 10 hz
Licia Cisse: my preferred one is the older..and it's free...it's called Brainwave generator
Eliza Madrigal: Are you talking about the new "meditation technology" ? holosync or something like that?
Licia Cisse: well..if u will use it..remember to disable all the effects in your soundcard
Licia Cisse: no...i don't like holosync
Eliza Madrigal: I've been leary of that...
Licia Cisse: bw gen is free..you can experience you freq
Eliza Madrigal: I like meditation because you take it everywhere...even in shower :)Licia asked about the PaB chat logs
Licia Cisse: well...i was always stressed...then my ex bf (i'm les just in sl..) begin to use BWG...
Licia Cisse: i can say it's powerfull...and the best thingh is that you can use it as you want..you can create your freq
Chiaiu Chiung: how would you describe the effect it has on you?
Licia Cisse: it's like meditation...
Eliza Madrigal: Yesterday I stood with birds at a rehabilitation place....felt like their presence made me very peaceful....have been thinking about that a lot. We do "converse" brainwaves I'm sure.
Licia Cisse: but it's faster
Licia Cisse: there are a lot of scientific articles about binaural beats and bw...
Eliza Madrigal: Which maybe opens up conversation about personal interaction with technology at some point
Pema Pera: yes, an interesting topic!
Pema Pera: Sorry, I have to go
Adams Rubble: bye Pema :)
Eliza Madrigal: Bye Pema
genesis Zhangsun: bye Pema
Pema Pera: nice seeing you all, nice meeting you, Licia!
Licia Cisse: maybe my casual presence here is to move someone of you to try BW...:)
Licia Cisse: ciao Pema
Pema Pera: time will tell, Licia :-)
Chiaiu Chiung: bye Pema
Pema Pera: bye everybody
Licia Cisse: ok...
Eliza Madrigal: I'm working on slow...right now...but I do find it interesting :)
Licia Cisse: well...try it... type brainwave generator on google...
Licia Cisse: download it
Licia Cisse: and then try some preset
Licia Cisse: hey..so you are recording this conversation...why?
genesis Zhangsun: Well Licia for other members to read
Licia Cisse: when i can read your past conv?
Licia Cisse: ops..where...
Eliza Madrigal: http://playasbeing.wik.is/
genesis Zhangsun: on our wiki http://playasbeing.wik.is/
genesis Zhangsun: hehe
Licia Cisse: ok..
