2010.02.01 13:00 - Micks treat about the retreat

The Guardian for this meeting was Mickorod Renard.

Mickorod Renard: its a bit colder than Malta was

Agatha Macbeth: What here or the UK?

Mickorod Renard: even though Malta wasnt the horttest of climates

    Agatha Macbeth: No?

Bertram Jacobus: heyy ara ... :-))

Mickorod Renard: yes, uk is cold at the mom

    arabella Ella: Hiya

    Agatha Macbeth: is shocked

    arabella Ella: shocked Agatha?

    arabella Ella: :)

Agatha Macbeth: That Malta was not warm :)

Mickorod Renard: yes, Agatha must think its the tropics in Malta

    arabella Ella: today was sweltering

    Pema Pera: :-)

    Mickorod Renard: ohhh nooo

    Agatha Macbeth: Ooooh yessss!

Pema Pera: Malta was the warmest outdoors place in Europe and the coldest indoor place in Europe :-)

arabella Ella: but i guess we often had four seasons in a day

    Wol Euler: heheheh

Yakuzza Lethecus: it wasn´t too cold on malta compared to the 0°C in germany :)

Mickorod Renard: maybe its for the best,,as otherwise we would have wanted to be on the beach all the time

    Agatha Macbeth: Ah....er....right

Pema Pera: indoors and outdoors about 60 F or 15 C

Mickorod Renard: But there were 10 warm hearts

Agatha Macbeth: That's warm enough :)

    Pema Pera: !!

    Pema Pera: Hi Tarmel!

    Eos Amaterasu: Tarmel!

Pema Pera: Mick, do you want to get started?

    Agatha Macbeth: G'day Tarm

    Mickorod Renard: ok

Mickorod Renard: I was just about to start

Wol Euler: you've got a good crowd, mick :)

    Mickorod Renard: yea

Mickorod Renard: hope my old pc holds out

Pema Pera: (wow, seven of the ten Malta retreaters are here right now!)

Mickorod Renard: well,,maybe u can help me out

    Bertram Jacobus: :-)

    Tarmel Udimo: exciting!

Mickorod Renard: I noticed today just how much I missed all the retreaters

Pema Pera: Bert, Arabella, Mick, Wol, Yakuzza, Eos, and me

Mickorod Renard: its amazing how we become so entwined

Bleu Oleander: you all have a special bond!

Mickorod Renard: and our chracters are so similar in ways to how we are in sl too

    Wol Euler smiles.

    Mickorod Renard: yes,,a special bond

Storm Nordwind: (Premium bond - comment for UK PaBers only)

    Mickorod Renard: yea,,

    Agatha Macbeth: groans

    Liza Deischer: hi Zen

Wol Euler was thinking of Brook Bond

    Mickorod Renard: Hi Zen

    Wol Euler: hello zen

    Agatha Macbeth: Or James?

    Agatha Macbeth: Hi Zen

    Eos Amaterasu: maybe treacle

    Zen Arado: Hi All

Mickorod Renard: I liked the way we slowly edged into the retreat

Mickorod Renard: as we arived in Malta on diferent days etc

    Bertram Jacobus: hy zen :-)

Mickorod Renard: so the apprehension rose gradually

Mickorod Renard: then,,finally the retreat started

Mickorod Renard: I for one was worried we may have issues over the hotels or the farmhouse

Mickorod Renard: and first impressions wre wor

    Mickorod Renard: rying

    Mickorod Renard: pc lag

    Mickorod Renard: sorry

Mickorod Renard: but then we made ourselves comfortable

Mickorod Renard: and most importantly,,the focus

Mickorod Renard: on each other,,and the retreat

Mickorod Renard: all for one and one for all

Mickorod Renard: also, I think of it as a nice meal

Bertram Jacobus: helllo sophia, lia and zon (!) ... :-)

Wol Euler: hello lia, sophia, zon

Mickorod Renard: lots of different courses

    --BELL--

Lia Rikugun: hello sorry i am late..

    Agatha Macbeth: Hi all

    Yakuzza Lethecus: hi lia

Liza Deischer: hello sophia, lia and zon

Pema Pera: So now we have 8 Malta retreaters here, of the 10: Lia, Bert, Arabella, Mick, Wol, Yakuzza, Eos, and me

Mickorod Renard: Hi Lia. sophia and Zon, and sophia p

Zen Arado: hello sophia, lia and zon

    Tarmel Udimo: hi new comers

Eos Amaterasu: Plus Tarmel is a CA retreatant

Storm Nordwind: And two people froma previous retreat too

    Eos Amaterasu: :-)

Mickorod Renard: yes, a good meal, with diferent courrses,,diferent tastes to flavour

    Wol Euler: :)

Mickorod Renard: there was no rushing into anything either

Tarmel Udimo: nods to Eos and storm

Mickorod Renard: and the joy of being able to take it slow,,and question more in depth about certain processes

Lia Rikugun: wow so many people!

    Mickorod Renard: its amazing

    Tarmel Udimo: like old times:)

    Fael Illyar: Hi Everyone :)

Mickorod Renard: I liked the getting bedded in before the silent day

    Tarmel Udimo: hi

    Agatha Macbeth: Pardon Mick?

Mickorod Renard: cos that gave us a chance to think deeper during the silent day

    Mickorod Renard: he he

Agatha Macbeth: Sorry, read that as 'getting bedded' :)

    Mickorod Renard: naughty

Agatha Macbeth: (Wishful thinking as usual)

    Tarmel Udimo: :)

    Wol Euler chortles

Mickorod Renard: well, you could have come

Pema Pera was wondering too, Agatha . . .

    Mickorod Renard: oops,,wrong word again

Agatha Macbeth: In a manner of speaking....

    Eos Amaterasu: :-)

    Wol Euler coughs

    Agatha Macbeth: whistles

    arabella Ella: :)

Agatha Macbeth: Anyway Mick, you were saying......

arabella Ella: we did that though didnt we in the afternoon of the silent day?

    Eos Amaterasu: :-)++

Mickorod Renard: and then after the silent day,,we were so full of questions

Wol Euler: almost all of us, yes

Archmage Atlantis: Ok. if you peeps are all sexed up......well

Agatha Macbeth: raises her hand. What was the 'Silent Day' please?

arabella Ella: sorry Arch ... no one mentioned the 'S' word

    arabella Ella: except for Silent

Mickorod Renard: well, the afternoon of the silent day resulted in many people dozing off

    Agatha Macbeth: Oh

    Agatha Macbeth: No snoring then?

Mickorod Renard: we became so relaxed I think

    Mickorod Renard: some snoring

    Zen Arado: silent meditation?

    Mickorod Renard: grunts and stuff

    Wol Euler nods to zen

    Agatha Macbeth: 'Grunts and stuff'?

Mickorod Renard: yea,,well there was small lapses in the silent bit

    Agatha Macbeth: ????

Mickorod Renard: Agatha,,you must make the next retreat

Eos Amaterasu: "functional" communication was okiay

Tarmel Udimo: just reconnecting with Being at a different level:)

    Mickorod Renard: its fun

Agatha Macbeth: So I can do grunts and stuff eh?

arabella Ella: there were times when it was absolutely necessary to communicate

    Mickorod Renard: sure

Storm Nordwind: As in "you're standing on my foot"?

    Agatha Macbeth: Hmmm

arabella Ella: yes to communicate with grunts and stuff

Mickorod Renard: it must have been so much less complicated before language was invented

Agatha Macbeth: Yeah, they just bashed each other with rocks

Mickorod Renard: well,,there are lots of rocks on malta

Eos Amaterasu: it was a flintstone era place in some ways :-)

Agatha Macbeth: Well there you go....

    Agatha Macbeth: Fred?

Mickorod Renard: but we refrained from comunicating with rocks

    Eos Amaterasu: or shells

arabella Ella: Malta has often been known to be a 'rock'

Agatha Macbeth: Adams Rubble would have felt at home then :)

Tarmel Udimo: interesting - most retreats are silent so I wander about the impact of just one day?

Mickorod Renard: but I think for me,,it took several days to chill out

Archmage Atlantis: Cat climbs over chest,,,communicates with no words

    Agatha Macbeth: Right Arch

Mickorod Renard: many of us must have very hectic lives during regular weeks

Mickorod Renard: and to achieve silence in the mind,,well to a point, must take adjustment

Tarmel Udimo: it takes longer than 24hrs:)

Mickorod Renard: I feel that the weeks retreat was superb for me and for a first time

    Wol Euler: good!

    Agatha Macbeth: Result!

Mickorod Renard: but I would look forward to a longer retreat now

    Wol Euler: very good :)

Agatha Macbeth: (No pleasing some folk....)

    Zen Arado: or more silence?

    --BELL--

Mickorod Renard: I left the retreat with so many answers,,yet also with a hunger for more

    Mickorod Renard: oops

Mickorod Renard: I would welcome more silence, but perhaps seperate days to aid reflexion on the things talked about,,sort of to split it up

Mickorod Renard: the end came all too quick

    Wol Euler nods.

Mickorod Renard: and I feel we had almost just started

Pema Pera: future retreats will likely be five full days, instead of three full days, Mick

Mickorod Renard: like just started to get our teeth into things

Pema Pera: and next year summer we will have a two week retreat in Nova Scotia

    Mickorod Renard: yes Pema?

    Lia Rikugun: nice pictuire

Mickorod Renard: I was in no way dissatisfied

Archmage Atlantis: For some of you, yes

    Archmage Atlantis: For others,no

Mickorod Renard: but like a lovely meal,,I was left full but longing for a revisit

Mickorod Renard: also the visit to another country is also fun

Mickorod Renard: for example, we saw things of interest too

Mickorod Renard: so as an all round trip,,it was great

Tarmel Udimo: (did you mean this summer 2010 or 2011 Pema?)

Mickorod Renard: viually stimulating, cultural,,and also importantly,,the social and play as being aspect

Pema Pera: (next summer, 2011, Tarmel, for the two-week thing; this summer for one week)

    Tarmel Udimo: ta

Yakuzza Lethecus: i just uploaded a few photo´s how the countryside and coast looked like: http://www.flickr.com/photos/40413449@N07/ only the 5 newest photos

Zen Arado: is that at Pema Chodron's place?

    Mickorod Renard: wow, thanks Yaku

    arabella Ella: oh thanks Yaku!

    Bleu Oleander: beautiful!

    Agatha Macbeth: Nice Yaku :)

    Tarmel Udimo: tks Yak beautiful!

    Lia Rikugun: wow nice

Eos Amaterasu: (to Zen: no, Windhorse Farm....)

Mickorod Renard: I liked the balance,,maybe some would have liked more of one thing or another,,but we are a mixed croud

arabella Ella: yes and for some of us it was a first retreat of this kind

Zen Arado: ok thanks - I know she has a place there somewhere

Mickorod Renard: perhaps in the future some emphasis could be placed on describing the intensity

Wol Euler: MIck, you said that you found many answers, would you tell us a little about that or is it too personal?

Mickorod Renard: so as those who want a light intro,,or those who want total submession could choose

Mickorod Renard: well, some are perhaps a lil personal

Mickorod Renard: but as with many things,,one can loose the path

Mickorod Renard: PaB here can be so diverse in discussion

    sophia Placebo sneaks

Mickorod Renard: and if we mix this with Wok and time space and perhaps other sessions outside Kira

Mickorod Renard: then it can become a muddle

Mickorod Renard: the retreat offers a realignment

    Wol Euler nods.

Mickorod Renard: a chance to get back on track

Mickorod Renard: this too can also mean opening avenues within ones own structure of understanding

Archmage Atlantis: or a chance to find a new track, in the muddle

    Liza Deischer: hi Gilles

Mickorod Renard: yes Arch, even a track through the fog

    --BELL--

Eos Amaterasu: Pema knows about muddles :-)

    Mickorod Renard: confidence too

    Tarmel Udimo: (Hi Gilles)

    Mickorod Renard: Hi Giles

    Gilles Kuhn: hello all

    Bertram Jacobus: [hi gilles]

    Agatha Macbeth: Hello Mr Wolf

Pema Pera: hehehe, Eos, well, that was a puddle more than a muddle . . . .

    Zen Arado: Hi Gilles

Mickorod Renard: one thing that I felt happy with was that one is never pushed into feeling that you are being convereted into anything

    Tarmel Udimo: nods

Mickorod Renard: its an open way of seeing,,within anyones beliefs

Tarmel Udimo: nothing to be converted to:)

Mickorod Renard: I dont see why it wouldnt suit anyone and everyone

    Mickorod Renard: its a tonic

    Tarmel Udimo: nods

    Wol Euler nods.

Mickorod Renard: I felt very invigorated aftyerwards

Tarmel Udimo: opening up is always great

Mickorod Renard: and I am sleeping better too

Agatha Macbeth: I think you need a bigger cushion Gilles :)

    Wol Euler: that's great, mick.

Gilles Kuhn: even a tonic can be intoxicating and so cannot suit everyone you always need contradiction even in methods to evolve

Tarmel Udimo: also don't forget its great to be in Pema's orbit:)

Mickorod Renard: I will decypher that afterwards Gilles

Gilles Kuhn: lol yes and i have not taken a dragon avi ;-)

Tarmel Udimo: soaking up the Pema vibes:)

Mickorod Renard: Well, I didnt like to say, but what wonderfull company

Mickorod Renard: everyone on this retreat at least, were so great..exept me

    Tarmel Udimo: hahahahaha

    Pema Pera: hahaha

    Mickorod Renard: he he

    arabella Ella: owwwwww Mick

    Lia Rikugun: :)

    Wol Euler: nonsense.

arabella Ella: I must say we have a lot to thank Mick for too ....

arabella Ella: he had lots of patience as the official designated driver of an 8-seater vehicle

Mickorod Renard: It was something that I had spoken with Ara about,,we both agreed that everyone was so nice

arabella Ella: thanks Mick for your patience!

Pema Pera: it was amazing to see how again everybody got along so well with everybody else -- a minor miracle in a group, suddenly spending so much time together so intensely

    Mickorod Renard: your welcome

Lia Rikugun: yes thank you for driing!

    Lia Rikugun: driving

arabella Ella: and your patience with getting lost too once or twice :)

arabella Ella: following a female driver ... no names here!

    Liza Deischer: :-)

Mickorod Renard: and how much work and effort Ara put in to aranging stuff too

Bertram Jacobus: ty for being mick !

    Wol Euler nods gratefully.

arabella Ella: thanks ... it was a pleasure!

    Bertram Jacobus: and all

Mickorod Renard: and I didnt realise how much Eos was so central to it all too

Mickorod Renard: Eos was so instrumental in providing extra asngles of vision

    Wol Euler nods.

arabella Ella: and i feel Eos was like a solid anchor throughout the retreat too

Eos Amaterasu ponders this, & ?

Archmage Atlantis: i was commenting earlier that the PaB sessions are better when both aspects of gender are represented

Mickorod Renard: I was almost going to type those same wrds Ara

Tarmel Udimo: Eos is a solid anchor:)

    Mickorod Renard: yeaaa,,too right

    arabella Ella: :)

    Yakuzza Lethecus: :)

Bertram Jacobus: sry all - leave now - thanks so lot - may all beings be happy please (!) ... :-)

Mickorod Renard: and Berts vocals too

    Bertram Jacobus: dankeeee :o))

    arabella Ella: amazing

    Pema Pera: indeed!

    Zen Arado: bye Bert

Yakuzza Lethecus: He brought the entire hypogeum into vibration :)

    Pema Pera: :-)

Eos Amaterasu: from 3600 BC to the present

Mickorod Renard: careful not to excite Agatha Yaku

    Storm Nordwind chuckles

Agatha Macbeth: Ah, those were the days....

arabella Ella: well Agatha ... a visit to the Hypogeum with Bert would do you more good than you can ever imagine

Liza Deischer: thanks for sharing Mick

    Wol Euler laughs.

    Agatha Macbeth: How so?

Mickorod Renard: each and every person at the retreatgave some fantastic imput,,in diferent ways

arabella Ella: we'll leave it to Bert himself to explain during his own session on the retreat

    Pema Pera: :)

    Wol Euler: :)

    Agatha Macbeth: ?

Mickorod Renard: ok,,I must leave some stuff to be said by others

    Wol Euler: patience, grasshopper.

Mickorod Renard: thankyou Pema and Eos for making it be

Bleu Oleander: very interesting hear about the trip from everyone! thanks and bye for now :)

arabella Ella: just ask Bertram during his session about the vibrations he created at the Hypogeum ok Agatha?

Eos Amaterasu: Thank you Mick for heartfelt being

Pema Pera: really Arabella and Eos, Mick, as the two main organizers!

Zen Arado: thanks Mick and everyone - have to go - bye

    Agatha Macbeth: (Bleu Monday?)

Archmage Atlantis: The only grasshopers we have here eat all the bushes

Yakuzza Lethecus: is tsk happening now ?

Agatha Macbeth: thought that was locusts

Much fun reading your retreat report Mick and the whole log with all the voices of PaBbers in a crowded Cybercafe of Pahar Ganj in New Delhi with hindi surround sound of tv playing and hindi cell phone conversations. Wifi access is rare over here but I can feel the joy of the Malta retreaters just reading the logs. Yesterday, 5 little cows were jumping in the street of Main Bazar.Play as Being one being amongst one billion human beings.
