    Widget Whiteberry: hi Wol

    Wol Euler: hello widget

Wol Euler: I love your av, widget, you look so sympathetic and calm :)

    Widget Whiteberry: thank you!

    Wol Euler: hello eos

Eos Amaterasu: Hi Wol and Widget!

Wol Euler: afk for making tea :)

    Eos Amaterasu: Good idea!

    Widget Whiteberry: Hello Eos

Widget Whiteberry: we haven't spoken for ages

Widget Whiteberry: are you all set for this hour?

Eos Amaterasu: I have no choice :-)

Eos Amaterasu: It's been a busy weekend

Eos Amaterasu: But yes we should talk

    Widget Whiteberry: cold too

    Eos Amaterasu: cold?

Widget Whiteberry: arent you in NS?

    Wol Euler: back

    Wol Euler: hello pema

    --BELL--

    Eos Amaterasu: hi Pema

Pema Pera: Hi Wol, Eos, Widget!

    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey everyone

    Eos Amaterasu: :-)

    Wol Euler: hello yaku, calvino

Pema Pera: Hi Calvino and Yakuzza!

    Calvino Rabeni: Hello all

    Eos Amaterasu: HI Cal

Wol Euler: an interesting gesture, calvino.

    Eos Amaterasu: TM?

    Pema Pera: Hi Arabella!

    arabella Ella: Hiya!

    Wol Euler: hello ara

    Eos Amaterasu: Arabella Guida!

    arabella Ella: ciao Eos!

    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey ara

    Wester Kiranov: hi all

    Wol Euler: hello wester

    Eos Amaterasu: Hi Wester

    Pema Pera: Good evening, Wester!

    Pema Pera: and Bert!

    Eos Amaterasu: und Bert!

Yakuzza Lethecus: Goeden avond Wester, nabend bert :)

    Bertram Jacobus: hey everybody :-)

    Wol Euler: hello bertram

Pema Pera: Eos, would you like to start?

    Eos Amaterasu: Yes...

Eos Amaterasu: I think these reporting sessions have been themselves remarkable

Eos Amaterasu: the attendance and quality of presence and listening and sharing has been really strong

Eos Amaterasu: a carryover of the retreat through SL, and from SL extending retreat / appreciation atmosphere

Eos Amaterasu: Re Malta.... the locale is different in each retreat, and Malta with its ancient history, stone-walled little roads, beautiful Maltese language, steeped us in some kind of atmosphere

Eos Amaterasu: the retreat hut was on the side of a valley, overlooking a big space, with some hills toward the mediteranean

Eos Amaterasu: Arabella was our guide, providing continuity with the inhabitants of the island, its culture (extremely knowledgable, Ara!)

    arabella Ella blushes

Eos Amaterasu: and the delightful process of shuttling back and forth

Eos Amaterasu: Something celebratory about it

Eos Amaterasu: the "meditation farmhouse" brought its own coincidence and history

Eos Amaterasu: and then there were the almond cookies

    Pema Pera: :)

    Bertram Jacobus: lol

    Eos Amaterasu: and Fefonz's soup

    Wol Euler: :)

arabella Ella: and Fef's almonds too

    Eos Amaterasu: ummm

    Bertram Jacobus lols again

Eos Amaterasu: I'm constantly impressed by the different styles people bring to this exploration

Eos Amaterasu: and how trusting in the process, which I think means caring for it and attending to it but also leaving it open

Eos Amaterasu: brings completely unexpected results

Eos Amaterasu: I get the impression that this was transformative and a step forward for many

    --BELL--

Pema Pera: "trusting, caring, and leaving open" -- what a beautiful summary!

Eos Amaterasu: Pema, as you said, "step through the window of the open moment"

Eos Amaterasu: We played a lot with stories, and imagery, and dialoguing with those

Eos Amaterasu: such as through Lia's explorations

Eos Amaterasu: Fefonz had a great line, "stories are more sculpting reality than describing it"

    Calvino Rabeni: :)

Eos Amaterasu: so in that way Being is not some thing to be described, but something dynamically encountered, including oneself re-sculpted

Eos Amaterasu: Wol also talked about architecture as embodying a kind of story

Eos Amaterasu: Compared to last August's California retreat, we did fewer "structured", or sequenced, exercises

Eos Amaterasu: this was a bit more chaotic (partly because we did not stay "on site" the whole time, but did a lot of moving back and forth)

Eos Amaterasu: the approaches to appreciating being arose more from the participants

    Wester Kiranov: hi eliza

    arabella Ella: Hiya Eliza

Eos Amaterasu: (shhh, Eliza has still now woken up, and is a butterfly :-)

Eliza Madrigal: hi :) (sneaks in quietly for just a few minutes)

    Eliza Madrigal grins@Eos

    Bertram Jacobus: :-)

Eliza Madrigal: (also a note that I'm on my son's laptop and can't seem to use IMs)

Eos Amaterasu: As everyone has said, the silent day allowed things to arise, be perceived

Eos Amaterasu: Interesting that retreat can include cutting down inputs, away from things, but also reducing outputs, creating more stuff

Eos Amaterasu: making the process of ourselves generating narrative, often reactively, more obvious

Eos Amaterasu: The silent day was also a bit more of a scattering of people, walking around, on their own or with others (Pema and Eos to the two special hills, Mick making sure Arabella didn't fall if the earth collapsesd :-)

    arabella Ella giggles

Eos Amaterasu: We may want to play around with how to have larger groups talk around dinner table - maybe break into smaller groups? (Often it's hard to hear)

Eos Amaterasu: how about we discuss....?

Eos Amaterasu: "malta almond cookies / first taste still sticks embedded / in no time fullness"

    Pema Pera: :)

    Wol Euler smiles.

    Wester Kiranov: :)

    arabella Ella: :)

Eos Amaterasu had a dream about those cookies :-)

    Wol Euler: :)))

Wester Kiranov: so-thats what you look like if you have a LOt of them?

    --BELL--

Widget Whiteberry: Eos, if I may, what were the most moving moments for you?

    Eos Amaterasu: hmm...

Eos Amaterasu: there was sometimes a very strong sense of presence in the middle of the circle of people, being silent

Eos Amaterasu: I recall that especially the last day

Eos Amaterasu: also just meeting and getting to know some of the AVs in real life, and the depth of their stories, lives

Eos Amaterasu: what they are bring to this and sharing

Eos Amaterasu: the exploration down the stairs with Lia, inside the circle of hands holding as suggested by Fefonz

Eos Amaterasu: the power of these simple explorations, and the willingness to jump in and discover, and how much capacity for that there is / we have

Eos Amaterasu: I think we have something really intriguing and unique going on with these SL/RL/SL practices, and going back and forth

Eos Amaterasu: (is Eliza's typing not coming thru?)

Eliza Madrigal: :)) ty Eos, sorry to pop away so soon, bye all

    arabella Ella: bye Eliza

    Wester Kiranov: bye eliza

    Widget Whiteberry: pls continue, Eos

    Pema Pera: bye Eliza!

Eos Amaterasu: Anyone else have comments?

Eos Amaterasu: Also, San Francisco coming up!

    Wol Euler: hello steve

    Eos Amaterasu: HI Steve

    stevenaia Michinaga: hello

    Wester Kiranov: hi steve

    arabella Ella: Hiya Steve

Calvino Rabeni: The sign of a really good party - people entering and leaving through the window

Widget Whiteberry: Can you say more about SL/RL/SL practices? I've only experienced PaB inworld

Eos Amaterasu: Well, I've found that doing RL retreat then re-inspires being here in SL doing sessions

Eos Amaterasu: and being in SL lets you kind of pop out of RL to take it less for granted, see with newer eyes

Eos Amaterasu: and also questions what is being in either world/life

    --BELL--

Widget Whiteberry: I'm so sorry, need to leave, I'll read the record

    Eos Amaterasu: bye!

    Yakuzza Lethecus: bye widget

    Wester Kiranov: bye widget

    Pema Pera: bye Widget!

    Wol Euler: bye widget

Yakuzza Lethecus: i'am also leaving, night, thx eos!

    Eos Amaterasu: Bye Yakuzza!

    Wester Kiranov: bye yaku

stevenaia Michinaga: Eos, was there an expectation of Being being different in RL vs SL?

    Wol Euler: hello fael

    Wester Kiranov: hi fael

Wol Euler: sweetness, come and join us :)

Eos Amaterasu: I think the handles and circumstances to approach Being, or come from Being, are different

Eos Amaterasu: and they complement each other

Wol Euler: I'll give you an introduction in IM so we don't disturb the others

Eos Amaterasu: knowing the RL people reveals a lot of richness, complexity, history

Eos Amaterasu: and that also reflects off the SL persona

Eos Amaterasu: we're always kind of avatar-ing

Bertram Jacobus: ty all , ty eos - have a good time please ! lookin forward ...

    Eos Amaterasu: Ciao Bert

    arabella Ella: nite Bertram

Wol Euler: 'night bertram, schlaf gut

    Bertram Jacobus: thxx

    Pema Pera: bye Bert!

    Wester Kiranov: bye bert

Eos Amaterasu: In RL we can go deeper, partly because of richness of RL lives, partly because of time, and beng bunched together

    Wol Euler nods.

arabella Ella: Yes it would be difficult to for example re-create the feeling and intensity of the holding hands exercise we did with Fefonz here in SL

    Wol Euler: heh, yes

stevenaia Michinaga: Bunches always creates a nice intensity

Eos Amaterasu: I think the emotional quality is also more there

Wester Kiranov: the weird thing is, with the right people you don't really need to do much to get really deep contact.

Wester Kiranov: now I have to learn to do that with other people too ;)

    Wol Euler: :)

Eos Amaterasu: maybe in RL there are more "bottom lines" that are important to us (we can't just re-rez)

Eos Amaterasu: and so the exploration touches and opens that, more to our core

    --BELL--

arabella Ella: yes we can use (or chose not to) all our five senses ... perhaps more ... in RL

    arabella Ella: oooops

    Eos Amaterasu must leave

Pema Pera: as for RL/SL playoff: the combination of the intensity of RL encounters and the frequency of SL encounters may hold the key to real integration of what we learn in our practices/explorations into daily life.

    Eos Amaterasu: Thank you all

Pema Pera: and yes, I have to go too -- thank you very much, Eos!

    Wester Kiranov: thank you eos

    Wol Euler: thank you, eos.

    Wester Kiranov: bye eos, pema

arabella Ella: thank you so much Eos for a lovely description

Pema Pera: This concludes the tenth theme session on the Malt Retreat!

    arabella Ella: bye Pema

Eos Amaterasu: and San Francisco is coming up!

    stevenaia Michinaga: bye Pema, eos

Wol Euler: bye pema, bye eos

Pema Pera: quite a treat, to have had so many reports in the time span of just a week

    Wol Euler: oh, sorry :)

arabella Ella: must go too night all!

Wol Euler: bye ara, take care

    Wester Kiranov: bye ara

    Sweetness Delwood: nite ara

Wol Euler: I agree with Eos that the encounter in RL strengthens and deepens all sorts of relationships

Wol Euler: between people, but also I found a kind of internal strengthening in my confidence with what I am doing here.

stevenaia Michinaga: agree, but not sure it defines Being in any new way

    stevenaia Michinaga: (for me)

Calvino Rabeni: Who would have thunk it :)

Wol Euler: no, that is still just as vague :)

Wol Euler: but I'm pretty easy about it being vague

Wol Euler: some questions do not require answers

Wester Kiranov: I think it's pretty important to leave Being undefined

Calvino Rabeni: Awareness of being is measured by its ability to penetrate material realms

Wester Kiranov: something about killing the Buddha when you meet him ;)

    Wol Euler smiles.

Calvino Rabeni: If you meet the Calvino on the road ...

    Wol Euler: heheheh

    Wester Kiranov: :D

stevenaia Michinaga: perhaps "define" was not the word I intended

stevenaia Michinaga: I must be going..,

    stevenaia Michinaga: hold that thought

    stevenaia Michinaga: :)

    Wol Euler: :)

Calvino Rabeni: If you mean Being as a quality of experience, not in the "abstract", it seems to be strengthened by the cycling between

Wol Euler: bye steve, take care

    Wester Kiranov: :)

    Calvino Rabeni: Bye

    Wester Kiranov: bye steve

    Sweetness Delwood: bye stevenaia

Wester Kiranov: we did not make full circle but its a nice square now

    --BELL--

Wol Euler: I too must be off, goodnight everyone.

Wol Euler: I've claimed the session

    Wester Kiranov: bye wol

    Calvino Rabeni: Bye

Calvino Rabeni: same here, I have someplace else to "Be" , so good evenint :)

    Sweetness Delwood: good eve, Cal

Wester Kiranov: bye cal. I think I'll be off too. hope to see you again sweetness

Sweetness Delwood: yes, Wester, bye for now
