Pema Pera: (sorry, my connection is very very slow .. . . am stuck in a restaurant in Manhattan in the snow . . . .)
Archmage Atlantis: Yes, but that is not the trouble
Archmage Atlantis: I have been stuck in snow also
Pema Pera: We have been completely snowed in here in Manhattan, after two days of continuous snow, so moving around has been slowed down
Pema Pera: alas, internet connection is very slow here in the restaurant, and I wasn't able to get home in time -- well, I'll see how far I can get -- hi Eliza!

Pema Pera: Eliza, I was just explaining how Eiko and I got stuck in a restaurant, quite a nice one though, not able to get home in time :-)

Eliza Madrigal: Ah, no fun to have to eat and type....
Archmage Atlantis: I was dead.....I returned........alway stay blue each time that happens
Pema Pera: after our marathan session earlier about Malta, we had to get back from Princeton to New York, which took a loooong time, and then getting around in Manhattan was slow too . . . .

Eliza Madrigal: Some of the most sensitive people I know are quite verbally sharp at times

Eliza Madrigal: though maybe not relate too well. It seems 'we' spend our days in such sharp environments... constantly knocked around by traffic, people in stores, etc...
Eliza Madrigal: so nice to be allowed to be soft at times

Eliza Madrigal: Ah... well there I see a different point... Yes re not staying in pablum land :)
Archmage Atlantis: This world, it is not one I was trained for

Archmage Atlantis: Still, I was taught by a family of teachers

Eliza Madrigal: Well thank goodness for some changes in the world collectively, Arch, and in worlds individually ....
Eliza Madrigal: We can keep some of those things... gentleman-ness for instance :)

Eliza Madrigal: I live a life quite different from the one I was raised in, especially as concerns the way I have parented my children
Archmage Atlantis: From that I learned our children have an opportunity to live in another world.....as long as they believe it is possible/

Archmage Atlantis: I also have learned that our story is important......back to the first cave paintings, the first songs, the first poems;

Eliza Madrigal: There was a major earthquake in Chili today... reminded me of a friend in highschool, a very devout person, who said when he saw the pope there, that he prayed for me...
Eliza Madrigal: though not catholic, it meant a lot to me, because I knew what it meant to him...
Eliza Madrigal: I suppose that's a story about sharing in between space, in a way...
Archmage Atlantis: There is a belief I have in a Creator...........I summarize it this way

Archmage Atlantis: Creator not interested = free for all, with occasional intrusion

Eliza Madrigal: not straying so far from those who see 'creator' as potential...
Archmage Atlantis: Not particularly fitting in a belief system.....that gives comfort in stability

Eliza Madrigal: yes... for me it is the difference between an artist and pop star
Eliza Madrigal: her visuals are often disturbing... and yet the music itself 'fun'
Archmage Atlantis: The artist vs. pop star - that comment makes me think
Archmage Atlantis: In my younger days, a pop star by definition was not an artist
Eliza Madrigal: I think some called 'artist' who just mass produce things and push the buttons popular at the moment... might well better be called pop stars...
Archmage Atlantis: Yet music now sees some pop stars as artists
Eliza Madrigal: its funny how much repetition we live with, too
Archmage Atlantis: They pushed the buttons (good metaphor btw) but added something more
