The Guardian for this meeting was Paradise Tennant. The comments are by Eos, Calvino

    Paradise Tennant: hiya eos
Eos Amaterasu: splash ! splash !
    Paradise Tennant: smiles gtsy !
    Eos Amaterasu: Hi Paradise!
Paradise Tennant: how have you been :)
Eos Amaterasu: I had the same question!
Eos Amaterasu: I'm about to leave for San Francisco RL retreat
Paradise Tennant: very well thanks .. really been busy but it is all good here :)
    Paradise Tennant: wow!
Paradise Tennant: smiles say hello to everyone for me :)
Eos Amaterasu: This is a crazy travel year for me
Paradise Tennant: yes you are skipping about the globe
Eos Amaterasu: the Finland volcano could possibly affect that
    Paradise Tennant: ?
Eos Amaterasu: ie, Wol and Gaya are coming in from Northern Europe
    Paradise Tennant: ahh yes
Paradise Tennant: just listening to the news on youtube
Eos Amaterasu: There's kind of a Big Zipper running all the way up the Atlantic, in the middle, where the continents are moving apart
Eos Amaterasu: and Iceland is right there on top
Eos Amaterasu: the product of such volcanism
Paradise Tennant: you know this is the first I have heard about it
Paradise Tennant: I have been at work .. immersed in numbers to just a few minutes ago
    Eos Amaterasu: an amazing phenomenon
    Paradise Tennant: wow looks huge
Eos Amaterasu: could possibly ground flights for a long time, maybe intermittently but long term. Last time this volcano erupted it kept on for 18 months
    Paradise Tennant: wowser
Paradise Tennant: do not see anything on germany
Eos Amaterasu: Would you like to suggest a 90 sec motif?
    Paradise Tennant: yes
Paradise Tennant: tsk ..I have been reading it this week
Paradise Tennant: anything you would like from there
Eos Amaterasu: oh, I though you were going tsk tsk.... :-)
    Paradise Tennant: smiles
    Eos Amaterasu: Please go ahead
    --BELL--
Paradise Tennant: ok why don't we do the giant body thingy ?
    Paradise Tennant: smiles
Paradise Tennant: been really enjoying it
Paradise Tennant: though taking it in very small bits ..have to blink alot !
Eos Amaterasu: can you say what the giant body thing is, and what you experience?
Eos Amaterasu has not red tsk (is taking it along with him)
Paradise Tennant: well it is one of the visualization exercises in the TSK
    Paradise Tennant: ahh kk
    Paradise Tennant: one sec
Eos Amaterasu: HI Cal (ahh, slow link from Thailand?)
Paradise Tennant: well you are imagining you are very very very very very small
    Paradise Tennant: hiya cal
Calvino Rabeni: YEs, sometime sgood, sometimes im-possible
Eos Amaterasu: not hard to do in a very very very big universe
    Paradise Tennant: smiles
Paradise Tennant: and facing a huge body .. then intimately examining all the component parts .. down to the tiniest sub atomic particle
Eos Amaterasu: nano play as being
    Paradise Tennant: lol
    Paradise Tennant: yes!
Eos Amaterasu: Cal, have you experienced the demonstrations et al in Thailand?
Paradise Tennant: how is thailand ?
Calvino Rabeni: I saw lots of sodier checkpoints in Bangkok, but no "action"
Eos Amaterasu: our t-shirt says it all
    Eos Amaterasu: *your
Calvino Rabeni: Last inght I caught up on sleep finally - now I find the desire to explore is returning :)
Paradise Tennant: always hard adapting to transatlantic travel .. much easier coming back
Calvino Rabeni: Life is a fine balance around the dege between change and not-change
Calvino Rabeni: I've noticed each of those has its "fans"
Calvino Rabeni: Eos would probably have thought of what leads to resilience?
Eos Amaterasu: hmm... probably also the non-dual wu-weists
Paradise Tennant: lol wu weists? smiles
Eos Amaterasu: I guess something like immoveable vision
Eos Amaterasu: with lots of openness to what happens and can happend: spontaneity
Eos Amaterasu: the vision is way ahead, and like accomodating space
Calvino Rabeni: Any life form, whether or not capable of philosophy or even conscious awareness, seeks naturally to live near the "edge of chaos"
Eos Amaterasu: that's where the good stuff is
Calvino Rabeni: Even the unassuming Amoeba
Eos Amaterasu remembers Sid the Amoeba
Calvino Rabeni: Right, that's where the action is
Eos Amaterasu: "I may be siimple, but my feelings are easily hurt"
Paradise Tennant: hmm there is a law in physics which suggests that the universe trends towards chaos.. whenever I look in the bottom of my purse ..I think ahh it is quite correct :)
Calvino Rabeni: And as a result, even the vastly more intelligent Humans are hard-pressed to indicate "non-doing"
Eos Amaterasu: Varela talks about it being in the breakdowns that autopoiesis happens
Calvino Rabeni: Yes, He may have got that from Heidegger
    Paradise Tennant: autopoiesis ?
Eos Amaterasu: the force that through the green chute drives the poem
    Calvino Rabeni: Self-organization
    Calvino Rabeni: :) Eos
    Paradise Tennant: smiles
    --BELL--
Eos Amaterasu: same root as poetry
    Calvino Rabeni: Nice point
Calvino Rabeni: Even the edge of a japanese sword - one of the sharpest instruments of mankind, is folded and folded many times inside its construction, leading to a combination of rigidity and resiliency
Eos Amaterasu: Interesting... a kind of alchemy
Calvino Rabeni: Yes, having been heated red hot and plunged into cold water for tempering
Calvino Rabeni: It embodies the history of its experience with the opposites
Eos Amaterasu: I suppose you could consider your own experience to be that kind of forge
    Calvino Rabeni: Yes !
Calvino Rabeni: Nice that we all can speak "metaphor" :)
Calvino Rabeni: One of the most efficient languages available
Eos Amaterasu: well, to get back to Heidegger, "language is the clearing of being"
Eos Amaterasu: I think that's part of what autopoiesis is about, as the organism/enviornment mutuality, so that the world becomes a language
Calvino Rabeni: Heidegger's thought went to the edge of language, I think then stopped, unsure where to go further
Calvino Rabeni: Maybe lost courage? Or stuck with conceptual signes that said "beyond here there be dragons"
Eos Amaterasu: I think he met Being, but yes, couldn't go out with it
Calvino Rabeni: But I really agree with your previous statement
Calvino Rabeni: Where language comes from the encounter
    Calvino Rabeni: in mutuality
Eos Amaterasu: that's along the lines of the question "is mind just in the brain?"
Eos Amaterasu: mind is also all over the map :-)
Paradise Tennant: brings me to a quote from TSK ..The view that our ordinary faculties of cognition and perception "make the world" is not affirmed by this new vision. Perhaps these faculties structure and even falsify some features of the world but they do not make it. .. The world is not merely a concept in any ordinary sense.
Calvino Rabeni: We seem to struggle with that one a lot
Paradise Tennant: our concept of mind is not very accurate
Eos Amaterasu: That's true, because you have to address the seeming solidity of the holder of those faculties, in that question
Calvino Rabeni: It is not like mind stops where language seems to stop - but then neither does language - it is not "in the head" either
Paradise Tennant: In point of fact there may not be even a "here" a truly solid vantage point to construe the world - smiles
Eos Amaterasu: the "ah" of language is very old, and very young
Calvino Rabeni: OK, suppose we all agree that we understand that point - then, we can move on, right?
    Calvino Rabeni: :)
    Eos Amaterasu: where?
Calvino Rabeni: Trans-conceptual mind and communication
    Paradise Tennant: smiles transconceptually :)
Calvino Rabeni: We've agreed the conventional stopping point is a chimaera
Calvino Rabeni: So why not move on?
Calvino Rabeni: Actually we do it all the time, but don't recognize it, I would say
    --BELL--
Eos Amaterasu: Yes, so exploring what that world looks like
Calvino Rabeni: Yes that would be a good "being play" wouldn't it.
Eos Amaterasu: Thank you, Paradise and Calvino - I must depart....
Paradise Tennant: good nite eos .. safe trip !
Calvino Rabeni: Have a good dya, Eos
    Eos Amaterasu: Thanks, caio!
Paradise Tennant: smiles more transconceptual communication or can I ask how the trip is going :)
Calvino Rabeni: I went to bed early last night, and today feel refreshed
Paradise Tennant: what time is it there
Calvino Rabeni: Living at the edge of chaos - I like that about travel
Calvino Rabeni: The time is 9:49 AM
Paradise Tennant: what are you planning to see ..temples .. beaches ?
Calvino Rabeni: Everything is pretty data-enabled by now, since I first came here
Calvino Rabeni: I have some temple destinations in mind - and a boat tour
    Paradise Tennant: smiles
Paradise Tennant: sounds great ..how many weeks?
Calvino Rabeni: I am with a friend but at some time soon will branch out and do some more free-roaming by motorbike
Calvino Rabeni: I only had 2 weeks, so until Monday after the next one
Paradise Tennant: you know the country well ?
Calvino Rabeni: Moderately - I've been at least through the different regions, except the south border with malaysia, and know transportation
Calvino Rabeni: I have a kind of laziness until I get rested up - things take more thinking here still
Paradise Tennant: my brother and his wife were just there ..doing a 4 month jaunt india, thailand, vietnam
Paradise Tennant: yes always enjoy travelling more when I am rested ..usually walk all day and go to bed fairly early .. so much to see ..:)
Calvino Rabeni: Very satisfactory trip they had?
Calvino Rabeni: Yes, one of the thing I like best is just exploring around without destination or agenda
Paradise Tennant: they are in vietnam .. I get emails every few days ..yes would say they are having a wonderful time
Paradise Tennant: hmmm I call them starbuck holidays ..you wake up ..pick up a coffee and just start to wander around .. with only a very loose plan
Calvino Rabeni: RIght - one time I considered, a walking tour of Bangkok, where you visit all the Starbucks sequentially
Paradise Tennant: lol or a tea house trek in tibet .. thought that would be fun too .. trudging from teahouse to teahouse
Calvino Rabeni: Another thing I'd like is to take a boat tour of the smaller canals in Bangkok
Paradise Tennant: yes did a barge tour in france a couple of years ago very civilized way to see the country ..ran through fields and fields of sunflowers every day .. was really beautiful :)
Paradise Tennant: what is bangkok like
Calvino Rabeni: I arrived on possibly, the dayy of the year with the most bedlam - new years
    --BELL--
Calvino Rabeni: Bangkok is huge, hard to describe - a mix of everything along many scales - dense with people, noise, color, Not at all tidy, very alive, mixed modern and ancient together
Calvino Rabeni: Large and flat, bisected by a river and with many side canals, old teak houses, sky towers,
Calvino Rabeni: all streets lined with open-front businesses and food carts, fully occupied
Calvino Rabeni: Many things on huge scales, stores or whatever
Calvino Rabeni: small buddhist shrines everywhere, many street dogs, wandering monks
Paradise Tennant: hm always find how odd it is that you can be somewhere so different and then in a short while land back in your same same world .. knowing that it is all still bustling along with out you .. far far away
Calvino Rabeni: big variety of dress styles - monks robes, uniforms, hippie, uber-sexy, etc
    Calvino Rabeni: East meets west
    Paradise Tennant: poor street dogs
Calvino Rabeni: The dogs un an area usually reflect the character of the people around, they pick up the same personaities - think they are one species
Paradise Tennant: and really good thai food ~ my personal favourite !
Calvino Rabeni: In another PaB session I recounted that I was fascinated by the safety video on Bangkok Airways - some one asked - is it on the internet - .... but of course!
    Calvino Rabeni: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9_XHILutcg
Calvino Rabeni: Yes, I like thai food. Eating is the national sport of the thais
Calvino Rabeni: Could go on a walking / eating tour of Thailand
Calvino Rabeni: A lot more variety than in US / Canada
Paradise Tennant: that sounds nicely balanced :)
Calvino Rabeni: If you want Frog Soup, just ask, they will possibly whip it up
Calvino Rabeni: No "food factory" production methods in the restaurants
Paradise Tennant: been on wine tours .. even a ghost tour but never an eating tour
Calvino Rabeni: The walking would be to keep up an appetite and keep off the weight
Paradise Tennant: yes .. a good mix.. like walking .. you see more I think ..
Paradise Tennant: you do not cover as much ground but still think you actually see more
Paradise Tennant: well I am starting to fade .. so I will wish you a wonderful day full of adventure and transconceptual communication and frog soup!
Calvino Rabeni: It's prettty economical - most prices about 15- 25% of US / Canada equivalents
    Paradise Tennant: smiles
Paradise Tennant: good shopping for some things I would bet ..
Calvino Rabeni: And (insert PaB commercial here) lots of Play and lots of Being
Paradise Tennant: smiles yes a wondeful place to "play as being "
Calvino Rabeni: Bargaining an expected skill of commerce
    Paradise Tennant: lol
    Paradise Tennant: of course ...
Paradise Tennant: almost a sport :)
Calvino Rabeni: Sport or, a social skill
    Paradise Tennant: smiles
Calvino Rabeni: After visiting Thailand, I tried it sometimes in the US :)
    Paradise Tennant: lol
Calvino Rabeni: Where not expected, of course, like at the grocery
Paradise Tennant: can work sometimes with some people
Calvino Rabeni: Sometimes it works, yes
    --BELL--
Calvino Rabeni: It is one of those things like meditation which, you can't get fixated on results or predictability
    Paradise Tennant: like life
    Paradise Tennant: smiles
Calvino Rabeni: Good place to have a varied diet - like yoghurt and dried squid
Calvino Rabeni: I like the traditional thai markets
Paradise Tennant: hmm never had dried squid ..
Calvino Rabeni: Salty / chewy :)
Calvino Rabeni: The new airport is good
Paradise Tennant: how many times have you been to thailand
Calvino Rabeni: Bangkok Airways, a domestic carrier, has a lounge for all travellers, with free food, espresso, wireless, goodies wrapped in banana leaf - very civilized
    Paradise Tennant: nice !
Calvino Rabeni: I've been here 6 or so times, once for 4 months
    Paradise Tennant: wow
Paradise Tennant: kind of nice going somewhere you know your way around ..like coming home in a way
Paradise Tennant: well cal I got to scoot or I will be sludge in the morning .. :) enjoy the squid !
Calvino Rabeni: I think, a main reason I like it , is in so many ways, economics has not overshadowed human qualities
Calvino Rabeni: Nice tlaking to you, Bye Paradise
Paradise Tennant: yes my brother said the same thing .. family life much more important than anything else there
    Paradise Tennant: :)
Calvino Rabeni: I realy like it - is is very human
Paradise Tennant: thanks for the travel log like a mini break
Paradise Tennant: smiles and poufs !
Calvino Rabeni: Piblic life is not harsh or optimized for efficiency
    Calvino Rabeni: YW
    Paradise Tennant: yes
Paradise Tennant: kk big wave from toronto
    Calvino Rabeni: CU
