Meditations and a retreat

Calvino Rabeni: How have things been going?
Darren Islar: okay
Darren Islar: 9 to 10 persons for the meditation groups
Darren Islar: I'm pleased with that
Calvino Rabeni: That's great
Darren Islar: yes, almost two full groups
Darren Islar: I'm looking forward to it
Calvino Rabeni: How long will they meet - how many meetings?
Darren Islar: well, to start with 4 times
Darren Islar: but I hope I can do 8 if everybody is willing
Darren Islar: because then you get the hang of it
Darren Islar: and we can close that before summertime
Darren Islar: after that I don't know
Darren Islar: I can do more, maybe we keep one group left in september
Darren Islar: I woud like that, but just let's see what happens
Darren Islar: and how are you doing?
Darren Islar: there are some changes in your life from the looks of it
Calvino Rabeni: I'm home now - it is really quiet - i have a little jet lag

Calvino Rabeni: Still digesting impressions from my travels

Calvino Rabeni: I'll be traveling again starting thursday - but hope to join one of your meditation meetings
Darren Islar: where are you going this time?
Darren Islar: you said you should do some travelling in the US
Calvino Rabeni: a retreat in oregon at a remote place - then down to maintain some property I have in southern oregon - kind of a road trip, about 26 hours driving total
Darren Islar: a retreat, great
Calvino Rabeni: The waters come from snow that fell 10000 years ago, and eventually emerge from the hot springs on sits in

I noticed, since I met Cal, that he slowly starts to change his outfit, wearing a bright orange rope today, in a way monks often do

Shifting to the issue of genders

Calvino Rabeni: I think, thailand has 3, as far as I can tell
Darren Islar: what is the third?
Calvino Rabeni: #1 are men, whether gay or straight, #2 women gay or straight, and #3 appear to be lady-boys (katouy)
Calvino Rabeni: that being men with sex change modifications
Darren Islar: ah, yes of course, that is pretty common in Thailand
