    stevenaia Michinaga: hello Storm
    Storm Nordwind: Hi Steve
Storm Nordwind: I saw you all by yourself, so I came in-world to say "Hi"
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
    --BELL--
    stevenaia Michinaga: hello Paradise
    Storm Nordwind: Hi Paradise
stevenaia Michinaga: thank you for stopping in, it's always nice to have an hour here
Paradise Tennant: hiya storm .. steve :) gtsy
stevenaia Michinaga: with or w/o company
    Paradise Tennant: smiles :)
Paradise Tennant: how are you tonight ? steve ? storm?
stevenaia Michinaga: I am suffling paper all over the dinning room, this is my hour break here
    stevenaia Michinaga: shuffling
Storm Nordwind briefly had the image of Steve cooking paper
stevenaia Michinaga: piles here and piles there, it;s a monthy ritual
Paradise Tennant: smiles yes knows that ritual well :)
Storm Nordwind: A monthly ritual to let it build up? ;)
Paradise Tennant: sticky stuff paper sometimes
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, easier to organize on a monthly bases, you get a nice perspective on things
    Paradise Tennant: yes
stevenaia Michinaga: wonders why there are 12 parts to a year
    Paradise Tennant: blinks
Storm Nordwind: I think that depends where you come from
stevenaia Michinaga: was thinking about "one's perspective" and how it relates to "appearence"
stevenaia Michinaga: I haven;t read pems email yet, but will find the time shortly, once the paper relocates itself
    stevenaia Michinaga: *Pema's
stevenaia Michinaga: but ti touched on a re-centering moment for me with PaB
Storm Nordwind: What do you think so far about perspective and how it relates to appearance?
Paradise Tennant: the moon rotates around the earth 12 times in the year ..it is the lunar calender :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: nods
Storm Nordwind: Ah no - the moon goes around closer to 13 times, not 12.
    Paradise Tennant: smiles
stevenaia Michinaga: didn;t the Roman have 10 months originally?
Storm Nordwind: They did - then they added ones named after Julius and Augustus Caesars
stevenaia Michinaga: having developed a multi faceted approach to seeing here, it offers a great variety of ways to see
stevenaia Michinaga: no matter what it is one sees
    Bleu Oleander: hi all
    stevenaia Michinaga: hello Bleu
    Storm Nordwind: Hi Bleu
Paradise Tennant: smiles hiya bleu gtsy :)
    --BELL--
stevenaia Michinaga: one is like walking around a box, everything changes as you move, like that little spinny "domb bell sculpture" in the art's park, when you sit on that, all seeing changes as it moves
Paradise Tennant: seeing being .. being seeing :)
stevenaia Michinaga: cat arrives between me an keyboard, typing gets dificult
    Bleu Oleander: :)
Storm Nordwind: You may have to paws
    stevenaia Michinaga: lol
    Bleu Oleander: ha!
Storm Nordwind notes that paws, pause, pours, pores and poors all sound exactly the same in his dialect
stevenaia Michinaga: I have purrs at the moment
    Storm Nordwind laughs
stevenaia Michinaga: can you give us a glimps of what you did on your retreat, storm?
Storm Nordwind: Hmm... I can, except that I also did so at the session 12 hours ago! (Not wanting to dominate the chat logs :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: nods
stevenaia Michinaga: will read that session
Paradise Tennant: what was the best part?
Storm Nordwind: The best part was the bit between the start and the end ;)
    Paradise Tennant: smiles
    stevenaia Michinaga: laughs
Storm Nordwind: All really good :)
Paradise Tennant: well you are not missing anything that way :)
Storm Nordwind: Lots of effects, not least the fact that I redid my guardian plot as a result of the retreat
Bleu Oleander: nice addition to the guardian plots Storm!
stevenaia Michinaga: I was once asked by someone who could not fathon how there could be a test (to become a licensed architect that would last 12 continuous hours and what it could possible consist of
    Storm Nordwind: Thank you Bleu!
stevenaia Michinaga: he thought it must have been like those envelope drawigns, ... draw this without crossing lines or lifting pencil
Storm Nordwind: I would have said "ONLY 12 hours?"
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, it;s never enough time, like meditation
    Storm Nordwind nods and smiles
stevenaia Michinaga: always room to do more
Storm Nordwind: Do you ever model RL work in SL. SL as a tool for RL?
stevenaia Michinaga: I've done very little modeling here, the tools are not very efficient as they are in RL modeling...like "Google Sketchup" for eample
stevenaia Michinaga: which is extremely fast
Bleu Oleander: DB Bailey does that
Bleu Oleander: have you seen his work?
stevenaia Michinaga: no, bt I ahve seen amazing architedctural models here
stevenaia Michinaga: there is a Frank Lloyd Wright sim here too
    --BELL--
Bleu Oleander: yes, the FLW Museum
Paradise Tennant: yes that was fabulous
Paradise Tennant: also a replica of "falling waters" ?
    stevenaia Michinaga: yes
    stevenaia Michinaga: and the guggenheim
Storm Nordwind: SL does have its plusses I find. For example, I'm often frustrated with the Google Earth interface. Quite hard to navigate quickly with. I often wish it would follow SL camera manipulation techniques for getting around buildings and landscapes.
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, it also depends on how much time you practive with any "tool"
stevenaia Michinaga: it always improves with time
Storm Nordwind: Sure. Unfortunately however, some user interface designers confuse "easy to learn" with "easy to use", and the two are often very different
stevenaia Michinaga: be it a pencil, a modeling workflow or meditation
stevenaia Michinaga: and there is still no easy way to brings RL models into SL, which would be helpful in some instances
    Storm Nordwind nods
Paradise Tennant: loves google earth it is like a secret litle doorway to the large bits of the globe sitting on your desk
stevenaia Michinaga: probably has to do with those pesky pims
    stevenaia Michinaga: Prims
Storm Nordwind was going to ask "No.1 cup?"
    stevenaia Michinaga: ?
    Storm Nordwind: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pimm
    stevenaia Michinaga: smiles
    Paradise Tennant: hiya cal :)
    Bleu Oleander: hi Cal
    stevenaia Michinaga: hello Cal
    Calvino Rabeni: Hello everyone :)
stevenaia Michinaga: you still in Thailand?
    Storm Nordwind: Hi there :)
Calvino Rabeni: Actually I got back home yesterday
Calvino Rabeni: I went native for a while :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: welcome back
    Calvino Rabeni: Thanks

    Calvino Rabeni: True yes

    stevenaia Michinaga: bye Paradise
Bleu Oleander: bye P .... take care
Bleu Oleander: me too, cu later :)
Storm Nordwind: And I think I'll go and turn the prayer wheels before departing for the night
stevenaia Michinaga: thanks for stopping bye
    Storm Nordwind: Namaste
    Calvino Rabeni: _/!\_
    --BELL--
stevenaia Michinaga: I also need to return to Rl, thanks for stopping by Cal
