    Pema Pera: hi again Eos!
    Eos Amaterasu: Hi Pema!
Pema Pera: may I ask about your thoughts re: snow globe app?
Pema Pera: what would be the next step?
Eos Amaterasu: I think having a snowglobe in the pocket or the backpack would be handy
    Pema Pera: hi Sine!
    Pema Pera: :-)
    Eos Amaterasu: Hi Sinequanon
Pema Pera: yes, as an iPhone app?
    sinequanon Sahara: Hello Pema,,Eos
Eos Amaterasu: Well, in the purely analog realm just having a small snowglobe would be handy
Eos Amaterasu: as a tangible timer/demonstration
Pema Pera: oh sure, but I really like the idea of sharing globally (no pun intended)
Eos Amaterasu: demonstration of letting be, so to speak
Pema Pera: perhaps you can summarize your original idea to Sine?
Eos Amaterasu: In that case, an iPhone or smartphone html5 app could do the trick
Eos Amaterasu: being html would allow you to access it on any computer as well
sinequanon Sahara: snow globe is an sl viewer i guess?
Pema Pera: oh, that's an idea!
    Eos Amaterasu: hah aha, maybe
Pema Pera: please do summarize your idea, Eos!
Eos Amaterasu: actually I was talking of a literal snowglobe...
Eos Amaterasu: but the basic idea is:
    sinequanon Sahara: hello Lila
Eos Amaterasu: when it's about time to reach a 15 minute boundary
Eos Amaterasu: at which you will do a 9 second pause
Lila Darkmatter: Hi Sinequanon, Eos, Pema
Eos Amaterasu: you access a web page, or app for mobile device
    Eos Amaterasu: hi Lila
Pema Pera: hi Lila, just sent you IM with chat till now
Eos Amaterasu: which knows who you are (ie, you've logged in)
Eos Amaterasu: you click a button, and it tells you who else has clicked, wherever they are in the world
Eos Amaterasu: so you know who else is about to do a 9 second break
Eos Amaterasu: After the 15 minute boundary, when you click you see who else has just done a 9 second pause
Eos Amaterasu: and then, at some in-between point - maybe 8 minutes after a 15 minute boundary
Eos Amaterasu: the deck gets cleared, and it starts all over, collecting names of people who will do a 9 second break on the upcoming 15-minute boundary
Eos Amaterasu: (this all refers to the idea of paying a 1% attention tax by "dropping" for 9 seconds every 900 seconds, 900 seconds equally 15 minutes)
Eos Amaterasu: there's a prototype of such an app on our wiki
Eos Amaterasu: it could be combined with snowglobe graphics
sinequanon Sahara: i was saying something like this yesterday...that the 90 second break must be the greatest invention in public discource since socrates
Eos Amaterasu: or various other kinds of graphic, information (such as people's locations, their suggested framings for how to approach the 9 or 90 seconds, etc)
Pema Pera: do you know about the original 9 seconds, Sine?
sinequanon Sahara: no i dont know of the original
    sinequanon Sahara: what is it
Pema Pera: we started this whole Play as Being idea
Pema Pera: more than three years ago
Pema Pera: around the notion of a 1 % time tax:
Pema Pera: for 9 seconds every fifteen minutes
Pema Pera: in RL, just stop
Pema Pera: and you can take a deep breath, or look around, whatever
Pema Pera: if you like a one-liner advice, it could be:
Pema Pera: "drop what you have in order to see what you are"
Pema Pera: and after coming up with that idea, of stopping four times an hour
Pema Pera: I decided to come in-world here four times a day
Pema Pera: so that we can all exchange and share our experiences here
Pema Pera: and while doing that, after a year or so, somebody came up with the 90 suggestion as a form of turbo-9 :-)
Lila Darkmatter: such a small thing, but if you really do it then there can be quite a bit to report :)
    Eos Amaterasu: periodic punctuation
    Pema Pera: http://wiki.playasbeing.org/About_PlayAsBeing/Basic_Ideas
    Lila Darkmatter: :)
Eos Amaterasu: maybe we can try "drop what you have to see what you are" in upcoming 90 seconds

    --BELL--

    Lila Darkmatter: Hi Stevie :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: waves
Pema Pera: for me, a heightened sense of thinking, seeing, hearing, rather than "I see, think, hear"
    Pema Pera: (hi Steve, Aphro)
    Lila Darkmatter: Hi Aphrodite :)
Aphrodite Macbain: Hi Lila, hi everyone
Pema Pera: we just did a "drop what you have to see what you are" in the last 90 sec break, a minute ago
Eos Amaterasu: stevenaia drops in, aphrodite appears: hi!
stevenaia Michinaga: Pema, perhaps you should host all the 7:00 PM slots :)
sinequanon Sahara: yes drop the I
    Pema Pera crawls away
stevenaia Michinaga: nice to see you here often
    Pema Pera: :-)
    Pema Pera: same here, Steve!
Pema Pera: how did it feel, Sine, did you get a chance to try it out?
    sinequanon Sahara: it feels...regenrative...
sinequanon Sahara: thats is still a selfish expression i guess...it feels more being in confluence
    Pema Pera: yes
Pema Pera: yes to "regenerative" :-)
Pema Pera: we normally wear ourselves out
Pema Pera: keep going till we almost drop
Pema Pera: better to drop on purpose
Pema Pera: and regenerating can certainly extend to a group
sinequanon Sahara: more then that...sometimes we are ...point scoring...we suddenly realize...
    sinequanon Sahara: the ego...
Eos Amaterasu: notice yourself in the act
    Pema Pera: yes
    stevenaia Michinaga: Are-ness
    Pema Pera: :-)
Pema Pera: (when we are careless we become areless)
Pema Pera: ((or so it seems))
stevenaia Michinaga: the ever refreshing pool of self, the more you drop, the more you have
sinequanon Sahara: you seriously need to patent this idea...or someone else will and sue you for a million dollars :)
    Pema Pera: hehehe
Pema Pera: it's been on the web for three years, I don't think someone can easily claim to have invented it suddenly
Pema Pera: but we have been talking about a creative commons idea
    Pema Pera: Eos?
Pema Pera: you had some thoughts?
Eos Amaterasu: the basic meme has been around a long time
Eos Amaterasu: very short sessions many times
Pema Pera: shot gun approach to happiness
sinequanon Sahara: have you heard about "intellectual ventures"
Aphrodite Macbain: what creative commons idea?
Eos Amaterasu: expressions of that idea can be protected by things like creative commons license
Lila Darkmatter: basically protecting the openness
sinequanon Sahara: its a software company in the valley that buys patents from inventors and then sues people through back door affiliates
Eos Amaterasu: how many people license their creative works, often so that they can be re-used and re-mixed while still being credited
Eos Amaterasu: patents are something else entirely
Pema Pera: ah, yes, I've heard of that, Sine
stevenaia Michinaga: perhap a new way to fund the group?
    Pema Pera: hehehe
    Aphrodite Macbain: :-)
sinequanon Sahara: they have stashed around 30,000 patents for the exact same purpose...
Lila Darkmatter: a real time tax
Eos Amaterasu: we can sell 9 second intervals
    Lila Darkmatter: :)
    Pema Pera: :-)
Pema Pera: with nothing in it
Aphrodite Macbain: The fear is that the works are re-used in a way that is inappropriate. I wonder how the concept of 9 second intervals can be abused
stevenaia Michinaga: each one is charges a use fee
Eos Amaterasu: surprising how they get filled up
    Lila Darkmatter: overflowing
Lila Darkmatter: good question Aphrodite... true 'do no harm' idea
Eos Amaterasu: playing as true grit: the lone cowboy rides into town, hitches his horse, walks into the saloon.... and plunks down his snowglobe
    Lila Darkmatter: hahahahahahhaha
    Pema Pera: great comic strip!
Eos Amaterasu: you'all pause for 9 sconds, you hear!
Pema Pera: and then the waitresses ignore him
Pema Pera: can't get a drink
Aphrodite Macbain: right. so many art works are transformed into things that are totally inappropriate
Eos Amaterasu: but they stare in fascination as the snowglobe flakes slowly settle....
Eos Amaterasu: next 90 seconds coming up:
    Eos Amaterasu: let settle?
    Lila Darkmatter: :)
Pema Pera: but then silence falls over the saloon -- Bad Billy walks in with his own snow globe pulled out, ready to turn over
    --BELL--
Eos Amaterasu: they face each other, and say: pause!
Aphrodite Macbain tries to imagine what a snow globe holster might look
    Aphrodite Macbain: like
Lila Darkmatter: meanwhile Daisy wipes the bar, waits to see who drops first
Eos Amaterasu: or who drops a tip
sinequanon Sahara: no..they will first get a law passed to have all institutes pause for 90 seconds...and then pass another law to tax the poor to pay for the revenue supposedly lost during that time
Eos Amaterasu: re letting settle, there were lots of my intentions buzzing around
    Pema Pera: :-)
stevenaia Michinaga: mmm, the image of my head as a snowglobe, part of it above the flacks, part filled with flakes settling slowly to the ground is a very nice emptying image
    stevenaia Michinaga: *flakes
Pema Pera: it being very hot here in Kobe at the middle of the day, I just marveled in the feelings of cool snow flakes
stevenaia Michinaga: droping my flakes to see what I am
    Lila Darkmatter: :)
Pema Pera wondering at a leadership convention: dropping the flakes -- now THAT might sell :-)
Aphrodite Macbain: lots of flakes at a leadrship convention
stevenaia Michinaga: looks into selling licensing rights (by the flake)
Lila Darkmatter: "if he can't drop for 9 seconds he's not worth your time'
    Eos Amaterasu: confetti parade
    Pema Pera: hi Storm!
    Lila Darkmatter: Hi Storm :)
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hiya Storm
    Storm Nordwind: Hi there!
    Eos Amaterasu: hi Storm
    Pema Pera: hi Paradise!
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hi Paradise
    Eos Amaterasu: hi Para
    Lila Darkmatter: Hi Paradise :)
stevenaia Michinaga: wave to Storm and Paradise
    sinequanon Sahara: hi Storm...Paradise
Aphrodite Macbain: you are glowing Para
Paradise Tennant: smiles and waves cloudily at everyone and listens :)
    Pema Pera waves mistily back
Eos Amaterasu: the 9 seconds done often is like little punctures in solidity
Eos Amaterasu: but then it can reverse so that little solidities are punctuating space
Pema Pera: back to work -- nice talking with y'all !
    Eos Amaterasu: bye Pema
Pema Pera: and looking forward to your beta snow globe app version Eos!
    Lila Darkmatter: Bye Pema :)
    sinequanon Sahara: bye Pema
Eos Amaterasu: Pema unhitches his horse and rides off
    Paradise Tennant: nite nite pema
Pema Pera: snow globe in pouch
    Storm Nordwind waves
    Aphrodite Macbain: Bye
    Aphrodite Macbain: Bye! Pema
Eos Amaterasu: Storm, we could have a snowglobe effect for this pavilion, could we not?
Eos Amaterasu: snowflakes settling for 90 seconds?
Paradise Tennant: smiles and looks for a parka :)
Storm Nordwind: We can anything and everything :)
    Lila Darkmatter: :))
Aphrodite Macbain wonders what the figure might be in the snowglobe
Storm Nordwind: I don't have anything right now that would settle, but I do have the snow
Eos Amaterasu: could be lotus petals dropping too, Paradise :-)
Lila Darkmatter: well for one in RL, the pavillion
Storm Nordwind: I can make the settling
    Lila Darkmatter: nice idea
Lila Darkmatter: who make the sun rise... la la la la la
    Lila Darkmatter: *can
Storm Nordwind: I'd prefer to leave it a couple of months to the first snowfalls in RL here ;)
Aphrodite Macbain: snow settling over the pavilion and its inhabitants
Paradise Tennant: oppps left my lotus blossom petal generator at home :)
Aphrodite Macbain: I ahte it when that happens
    Aphrodite Macbain: hate
Eos Amaterasu: wow, I see my mind!
    Paradise Tennant: smiles
Aphrodite Macbain: you have a mind full of butterflies Eos?
Lila Darkmatter: monkeys chasing butterflies, in my case
    Aphrodite Macbain: mine are moths
    Eos Amaterasu: better than monkeys
Aphrodite Macbain: chewing my grey matter
sinequanon Sahara: heres some music that should go with this
    sinequanon Sahara: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ofaoLKPz7c
    Lila Darkmatter: hah
Eos Amaterasu: let the buzzing in your mind drop

    --BELL--

    Lila Darkmatter smiles
Lila Darkmatter: not sure the butterflies will quite make the settling point
    Lila Darkmatter: heheh
Lila Darkmatter: but they sure are pretty
    stevenaia Michinaga: nice music, thanks
sinequanon Sahara: theres is going to be one big storm today somewhere
Lila Darkmatter: yes... wonder what effect pixelated butterflies have on weather patterns
    Lila Darkmatter: still movement :)
    Lila Darkmatter: Hello Gia
    Paradise Tennant: hiya gia .
    sinequanon Sahara: Gia
    Lila Darkmatter: pretty dress Gia
stevenaia Michinaga: feel free you come sit and join us
    stevenaia Michinaga: *to
Paradise Tennant: was hiking at a beach near me one fall came into a clearing where there were tens of thousands of monarch butterflies resting .. dog when rushing in and they all rose in the air as one .really amazing to watch
    Lila Darkmatter: wow
Lila Darkmatter: quite a moment Paradise
Lila Darkmatter: monarchs travel quite a distanc
    Lila Darkmatter: *distance
Paradise Tennant: one day was in an cherry blossom storm .. driving down a wide road in the spring windy day had to pull over could not see for all the cherry blossoms in the air
Lila Darkmatter: sounds like you live in a snowglobe already

    Aphrodite Macbain: Nite everyone
Paradise Tennant: nite nite aph :))
Andres Marquis: Consider me a cautionary tale, Stevenaia.

Andres Marquis: Thank you for the note card, Eos.
Eos Amaterasu: a little opening to .... just opening, space, letting go
Eos Amaterasu: for instance, coming up on the hour
