Wol Euler: I'm used from the plane
Alfred Kelberry: i'm ok here, archy :)

Alfred Kelberry: there! you have a trusted ari now :)

    Alfred Kelberry: purr
Alfred Kelberry: how was the flight, woly?
    Wol Euler: long, dull
Alfred Kelberry: ate and slept well?
    Wol Euler: no and no
    Alfred Kelberry: :/
Wol Euler: but waht the hell :)
Zen Arado: you sleep you sleep
Alfred Kelberry: no, food on a plane is important :)
    Alfred Kelberry: bruce :)
Zen Arado: if not you stay awake
Wol Euler: happy new year, bruce
    Wol Euler nods to zen
    Zen Arado: Hi Bruce
Alfred Kelberry: i like the flights when you wake up on touch down
    Wol Euler: I know, arch.
Wol Euler: that some people need to have a leg amputated doesn't make my sore tooth hurt less
Zen Arado: HNY to you too Bruce
Zen Arado: can put it in perspective tho :)

    Alfred Kelberry: i kill you
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Zen Arado: I was telling a woman how cold my legs get at retreats
    Zen Arado: she said i
Zen Arado: 'it could be worse'
Zen Arado: she had had both legs amputated
    Wol Euler: huh
    Wol Euler: perspective is good
    Alfred Kelberry: yes, perspective
Alfred Kelberry: or just a point
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
    Zen Arado: Hi Sharon:)
Zen Arado: what does Neko mean?
Zen Arado: better clear up this mystery
Alfred Kelberry: *pushes the like button on sharon*
    SophiaSharon Larnia: laughs
SophiaSharon Larnia: *Boxy* you are so sweet I love it
Alfred Kelberry: *flaps his ears* :)
    Wol Euler: pretty :)
    Bleu Oleander: hey all :)
Wol Euler: hello bleu, happynew year
    Bleu Oleander: happy new year!!
Alfred Kelberry: zen, neko... um, it's a cute kitty of a japanese descent :)
    Multiverse1 Resident: Hi all
    Alfred Kelberry: multi :)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hi Multiverse
    Zen Arado: ok ty Boxy
Zen Arado: Hi Bleu and Multi
Alfred Kelberry: blue! full house this session :)
    Alfred Kelberry: mmm
    Arisia Vita envies boxy's nose...
Wester Kiranov: I think one of us will have to claim this session, as Fef won't be here today
Wol Euler leans over and licks Ari's nnose
SophiaSharon Larnia: what is the topic?
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hahahah
    Bleu Oleander: :)
    Arisia Vita: tickles...
Alfred Kelberry: *licks ari's nose* :)
Wester Kiranov: I think the topic is "things to do with noses" ;)
Bruce Mowbray: afk for a couple of minutes -- phone call from doctor.
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hmm
    Wol Euler: hehehe

    Sense of smell:

Multiverse1 Resident: Multi wonders what alf can smell arund and about him
Alfred Kelberry: mid winter, i think
Multiverse1 Resident: lighting an insence here
Zen Arado: 1000 times more than we can
    Bleu Oleander: :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: a smell will take you back in time like little else will
    Alfred Kelberry: true, sharon

    Bruce Mowbray: back.
    Wol Euler: wb
SophiaSharon Larnia: Olfaction is among the oldest sense in vertebrates
    Zen Arado: wb Bruce
Bruce Mowbray: welcome Multiverse and Bleu.
Arisia Vita: wb, good news I hope
Bruce Mowbray: well, just scheduling two cat scans.
    Zen Arado: it is?
    Bleu Oleander: hiya Bruce
SophiaSharon Larnia: in the oldest part of the brain
    SophiaSharon Larnia: yep
Bruce Mowbray: I wish I could have gotten a dog scan .l.. but oh well.
    Zen Arado: interesting
    Wol Euler: boom boom
Wol Euler: ah, the old jokes are the best
    SophiaSharon Larnia: he Bruce
Alfred Kelberry: i have certain perfumes associated with certain girls and of course memories :)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: :D
Zen Arado: and humans have a weak sesne of smell?
    SophiaSharon Larnia: yes indeed
Multiverse1 Resident: What was the 1st sense
    Zen Arado: vision?
Multiverse1 Resident: touch I would think
    Bleu Oleander: probably touch
SophiaSharon Larnia: interesting thought, first sense :)
    Zen Arado: yeh
Alfred Kelberry: weak or not, it's predominant in liking the food we eat
SophiaSharon Larnia: i tend to agree Bleu :) but have nothing to base it on
    Bleu Oleander: me either :)

    Diets and dieting:

Bruce Mowbray: oh yes -- and the Sensa diet is based on olfactory sense -- and WORKS!
SophiaSharon Larnia: it kinda makes sense, creeping around for food
    Zen Arado: Sensa?
Bruce Mowbray: I'll find a link.
Bruce Mowbray: The diet is great.
Zen Arado: new year new diets
Alfred Kelberry: no diet is even better :)
Multiverse1 Resident: Can you gain weight with this Sensa?
    Zen Arado: :)
    Bruce Mowbray: http://www.trysensa.com/
SophiaSharon Larnia: the diet sounds like it'd give you some satisfaction, that you enjoyed what you ate
Alfred Kelberry: ah, good domain name
Bruce Mowbray: It fools the brain into thinking you are not hungry -- therefore you lose your appetite.
Multiverse1 Resident: Not for me then
Wester Kiranov: I don't thinkl trying to fool the brain in food matters is a good idea
Bruce Mowbray: no changes in diet or exercise required (or so they say) -- but you have no cravings for snacks. . .
Bruce Mowbray: (My brain is easily fooled.)
    Alfred Kelberry: i like snacks
Zen Arado: seems you would waste food then?
Multiverse1 Resident: we spoke of this yesterday, sometymes we are too busy to eat, then binge
Alfred Kelberry: *takes out a cookie from his pocket*
Zen Arado: couldn't finish a meal?
Wester Kiranov: I think the brain only plays a secondary role in food nutrition matters anyway
Multiverse1 Resident: I ate 6 cookies today, choc chip
Alfred Kelberry: multu, too busy to eat is true
Wester Kiranov: it's secondary to the body
Arisia Vita: sprinkle the sensa in your mouth before you fix the meal... :)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: nods
    Wester Kiranov: (the brain)
Zen Arado: the stomach plays main role?
Bruce Mowbray: I tend to eat out of habit, while doing something else (SL or TV, etc.) -- and also for comfort. . . Sensa knocks out the craving for that.
Wester Kiranov: no, the cells in your body
Zen Arado: well my stomach tells me
Zen Arado: it rumbles at me :)
Wol Euler looks at the half-eaten package of liquorice allsorts and nods sadly
Wester Kiranov: the body is actually quite good at regulating the amount of food it takes in.
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: laughs
SophiaSharon Larnia: my sense of hunger is broken too
Multiverse1 Resident: Spoke of something I haven't eaten in years today, Baked Alaska
Wester Kiranov: That's where all these stories of "you only have to eat 100 calories less" come from
Wol Euler: I can at least blame my mis-eating tonight on jetlag
Zen Arado: who only eats when hungry?
    SophiaSharon Larnia: ohj!
    Wester Kiranov: me
Bruce Mowbray: eating tries to be a substitute for emotional needs - as well as nutritional. . . so that's where Sensa can help.
Alfred Kelberry: woly, not a problem for you. you can eat :)
Bruce Mowbray: (probably a psychiatric problem, of sorts, actually).
    Zen Arado: comfort eating
    Bruce Mowbray: yep, comfort eating.
    SophiaSharon Larnia: = releasing endorphins
Alfred Kelberry: also, talking about food makes you hungry :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: the licorice talk made me want licorice
Alfred Kelberry: *ponders a walk to the kitchen*
Bruce Mowbray: not me, anymore, Alfred.
Multiverse1 Resident: I do not gain, I have to force myself, my body wants food but my brain outs it off
Zen Arado: I am still hungry after meals
Wester Kiranov: most of us comfort eat to some point, but for some the body balances that out well and for some it doesn't
Multiverse1 Resident: a consort of smell
Zen Arado: if you starve yourself the body only stores more fat I heard
    Multiverse1 Resident: taste
    Wester Kiranov: it's true, zen
SophiaSharon Larnia: yes, hence my problem Zen lol
Multiverse1 Resident: I am and have always been thin
    SophiaSharon Larnia: feast or famine
Zen Arado: so no point in dieting?
Bleu Oleander: all this talk is making me hungry ...
Wester Kiranov: I have lost 15 kilos in the last year
Multiverse1 Resident: A diet is what we eat
Zen Arado: wow a lot Wester
Wol Euler: dietary change works, but a crash diet only teaches your body that famines occur
    Wol Euler: (so htey say)
SophiaSharon Larnia: wow wester I hope intentional
Multiverse1 Resident: a weght loss diet is an abberation
    Bruce Mowbray: yeppers, Wol.
Wester Kiranov: I had actually given up on ever getiing to a healthy weight again
Zen Arado: how did you do it Wester?
Bruce Mowbray: What would you suggest for folks who are over-weight, Multi?
Wester Kiranov: Yes, very intentional :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: yay then :D i could learn from you
Multiverse1 Resident: smoke cigarrttes is my foible
Bruce Mowbray: Emotional support from friends is also important.
Zen Arado: tho it can keep weight down
Multiverse1 Resident: also High Metabolic rate
Wester Kiranov: I read a book called Good calories Bad calories whichj told me a lot about the mechanisms
Zen Arado: I don't get enough exercxise
Wester Kiranov: then I cut out all high-carb foods
Zen Arado: checks on Amazon ;)
SophiaSharon Larnia: oh those high carb foods darn :P
Multiverse1 Resident: I walk miles every week also, sometymes as many as 20
Wester Kiranov: I highly recommend the book, even if you're happy with your weight
Bruce Mowbray: The Adkins Diet is a no-carb way to go -- and it actually works, IF you have the will-power (and Sensa can give you the will-power.)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: makes a note
    Zen Arado: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Good-Calorie...5713460&sr=1-1
Wester Kiranov: Atkins was the method I followed, yes
    Bruce Mowbray: see? It works!
    --BELL--
Multiverse1 Resident: I also eat little " Processed foods"
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
Multiverse1 Resident: I want a nose like that!
    Bruce Mowbray: fitting.,
Zen Arado: noy sure about Atkins
Wester Kiranov: on most other diets, you get hungry. then you need a lot of will power. on Atkins you only need to cut out certain food, but you don't get hungry
Multiverse1 Resident: Multi wants to yaste an ear of " Boxy's "
Korel Laloix: The sad part about it, I try various diets to gain weight with little success... amazing how we want what we dont have.
    SophiaSharon Larnia: nods
Wester Kiranov: (or other diets sufficiently low-carb)
Alfred Kelberry: kori, you think you're too thin?
Zen Arado: a bit low on fruit and vegetables?
Wester Kiranov: korel: maybe you should try a high-carb diet
Alfred Kelberry: multi, no ears script, sorry :)
Alfred Kelberry: wester, lots of meat and cookies, i'd say
Multiverse1 Resident: balance is considerable, as well as heredity and occupation, and vocations
Zen Arado: cereals and porridge are high carb?
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
Bleu Oleander: bye all ... going for a snack :)
    Wol Euler: heheh
    SophiaSharon Larnia: bye Bleu :)
    Bruce Mowbray: Bye bye Bleu.
    Wol Euler: bon appetit bleu
Zen Arado: what would I have fro breakfast?
    Bleu Oleander: bye bye
Wester Kiranov: yes they are zen
    Zen Arado: bye Bleu :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: eggs and bacon Zen
    SophiaSharon Larnia: everyday
    SophiaSharon Larnia: lol
    Zen Arado: hmm
Multiverse1 Resident: each of us is individual in this
Wester Kiranov: you can have eggs, or cheese, or leftovers of the last evening
SophiaSharon Larnia: its not really a diet for a vegetarian
Wester Kiranov: the thing is, I really don't miss the things I can't have on this diet
    Zen Arado: for sure Sharon
Wester Kiranov: no, difficult for vegetarian, I admit
SophiaSharon Larnia: beans and more beans lol
Korel Laloix: I do a high carb diet...
Korel Laloix: But I am up to 76 now... from 73 about a month ago.
Wester Kiranov: I only get mildly nostalic for carbs, like meeting someone you had a crush on 10 years ago
SophiaSharon Larnia wants to get away with that
    Wol Euler chuckles.
    Zen Arado: 76 what Korel?
    Wol Euler: (to wester(
    Multiverse1 Resident: kg Kore;
    Korel Laloix: Lbs.. sorry.
Korel Laloix: I am only 4'9
    Zen Arado: gosh
    Multiverse1 Resident: wow
Multiverse1 Resident: that's light even for that height
Korel Laloix: I know I know...
    Korel Laloix: Slowly gaining again.
Korel Laloix: Hard for me to put on weight.
    Multiverse1 Resident: I'm 6'1" and 165
Multiverse1 Resident: used to be 220 and not fat
    Multiverse1 Resident: samr here
Multiverse1 Resident: an anti-diet is what I need
Wester Kiranov: wow korel, that is seriously too light
    Multiverse1 Resident: or reduce tobacco
    Multiverse1 Resident: too light indeed
Bruce Mowbray: Some folks simply cannot get the exercise we need to brun off calories (Zen and I, for example), so sometyimes diets are required. . .
    Bruce Mowbray: burn*
Multiverse1 Resident: Korel the feather then
    Zen Arado: I'm 6' 0" and 67 kg
Zen Arado: but I lost a lot of muscle
Korel Laloix: I was up ro 95lbs a bout 18 month ago.
Bruce Mowbray: what is 184 pound in kg?
Korel Laloix: But it is so easy to loose.
    Wol Euler: 84kg
Multiverse1 Resident: thinking and not eating? Too busy Korel?
    Wol Euler: 2.2lb = 1kg
    Bruce Mowbray: thanks, Wol!
Korel Laloix: I run too much.
Korel Laloix: And I can't have dairy.
    Multiverse1 Resident: ah
Multiverse1 Resident: I walk and not run
Wester Kiranov: Most people work up an appetite if they run a lot :)
Bruce Mowbray: Wow -- Zen is skinny!
Wester Kiranov: I can understand food intolerance would not help
    Multiverse1 Resident: Skin Zen then
Zen Arado: but lost anout 20 or 30 lbs of muscles
    Bruce Mowbray: no good.
    Bruce Mowbray: not*
Multiverse1 Resident: I have lost muscle mass too
Zen Arado: still have fat around y waist
Korel Laloix: I lift three times a week as well.
Multiverse1 Resident: 18,322 days and soft
Zen Arado: I watch my weight
Multiverse1 Resident: Korel you burn want you eat
Zen Arado: if not I would not be able to get around
Korel Laloix: I bit more than I eat recently.
    Multiverse1 Resident: what
Korel Laloix: Back to RL... take care all.
Wol Euler: 'night korel, take care
    Bruce Mowbray: Bye, Kori!

Arisia Vita: you are all special, no matter what you weigh
    SophiaSharon Larnia: laughs
    Zen Arado: ty Ari :)
    Wol Euler: hehehe
Zen Arado: fat but special :)
SophiaSharon Larnia is greatful for Ari's wisdom
    SophiaSharon Larnia: grateful*
Multiverse1 Resident: I weigh nothing here in sl
    Zen Arado: true
    Zen Arado: SL diet
Zen Arado: great way to get slim :)
Wester Kiranov: or whatever shape you want :)
Multiverse1 Resident: can eat everything in sight, and what you can't see you can grow in a few minutes
Multiverse1 Resident: solve the world's famine
    Zen Arado: yeh
Wester Kiranov: it's a pity you can't smell or taste anything here though...
SophiaSharon Larnia: lose weight in one slide
    Wol Euler: yes, wester
Multiverse1 Resident: Muti wants a watermelon
SophiaSharon Larnia throws a watermelon at Multi
    Multiverse1 Resident: not really
SophiaSharon Larnia: gtg, have fun all!!! See ya
Multiverse1 Resident: they grow them squarely in Japan no?
    Zen Arado: take care Shaon
    Multiverse1 Resident: By Soph
    SophiaSharon Larnia: you too :)
    Wester Kiranov: bye sophia
Wol Euler: bye sophia, take care
Multiverse1 Resident: Has anyone seen the way they grow watermelons in Japan?
    Zen Arado: no?
Multiverse1 Resident: They grow them in buckets so they can be stacked in the stores
    Multiverse1 Resident: square
    Zen Arado: hmm
Multiverse1 Resident: a very big item there from what I understand, shall ask pema
Zen Arado: Japanese always seem to be reducing size of things
Multiverse1 Resident: they grow to the container
Zen Arado: dod you see them Wol?
Multiverse1 Resident: seasonal perhaps, but I saw thounds on the tv
    Multiverse1 Resident: thousands
    Multiverse1 Resident: all in buckets
Wol Euler: no, or they didn't register with me
Wol Euler: I was not often in food stores
Multiverse1 Resident: then stacked on top of one another, quite smart I think
Wol Euler: perhaps not at all actually ... a surprising omission
Wester Kiranov: time for me to go as well
Archmage Atlantis: Why do we condemn ourselves....yes we smoke, drink, drug at times in the long history of our lives.....but is that the thing that is important?..
Wol Euler: bye wester, happy 2012
    Zen Arado: ok bye Wester
    Multiverse1 Resident: by Wester
    Wester Kiranov: namaste
Archmage Atlantis: Is not kindness more important
Wol Euler: I would say so, arch, yes
Multiverse1 Resident: hmm Arch, what is important?
    Zen Arado: good question
Archmage Atlantis: Is not love for each other more important
Zen Arado: kindness as Arch said ?
Zen Arado: as Dalai Lama said
Archmage Atlantis: I am so tired of each of us judging each other
    Zen Arado: love for ourselves
Multiverse1 Resident: yes, of course, thought Arch had something particular in mind when he stated that is all
Zen Arado: if you know what I mean
Zen Arado: judging is a survival tactic is it not?
Zen Arado: so we can be prepared
    Multiverse1 Resident: daily
Multiverse1 Resident: I make that my goal, "not to judge "
Archmage Atlantis: This world, this reality is tired
    Multiverse1 Resident: hourly
    Multiverse1 Resident: be objective
Zen Arado: 'judge not lest ye be judged'
Archmage Atlantis: Blessings and Namaste, Kids.....got to go
    Zen Arado: _/!\_
Multiverse1 Resident: not that so much as being "objective"
    Zen Arado: bye Arch
Multiverse1 Resident: by Arch, Bye Zen and woler and boxy. Had a friend walk in TC
Zen Arado: what's halfway between subjective and objective?
    Multiverse1 Resident: a wall, by
    Zen Arado: bye Multi
    Wol Euler: bye multi
    Wol Euler: bye arch
Zen Arado: I better go too
Zen Arado: I'll post the log

    Wol Euler nods and smiles
    Wol Euler: thanks, zen
    Wol Euler: goodnight, take care
Zen Arado: be and TC too :)
