The Guardian for this meeting was Riddle Sideways. The comments are by Riddle Sideways and joined by Eliza, Zen, Lawrence and Yakuzza.

For a couple weeks there were no sim restarts.  Then Eliza was here :).

themes of death, impermanence, birth, openness, wisdom, wonder, hotels and retreats.

    Riddle Sideways: Good Morning, Eliza
    Eliza Madrigal: Morning Riddle :)
Riddle Sideways: if it is one :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)

Riddle Sideways: hope you brought a great topic with you
    Eliza Madrigal looks in pocket
Riddle Sideways: this goC is empty
Eliza Madrigal: where the best topics come from, so we're set then Riddle :)
Riddle Sideways looks in the coffee cup
    Riddle Sideways: ah, grounds
    Riddle Sideways: grounding
Eliza Madrigal: grounding is a wonderful topic
    Riddle Sideways: the foundation
Riddle Sideways: starts with a deep breathe
Riddle Sideways: probably not need to wait for the quarter hour
    Eliza Madrigal: surely not :)

Speaking of needing to take a deep breath
Riddle Sideways: daugther is having anxiety attach over school, life, future, decisions
Riddle Sideways: got up this morning to find a note on kitchen counter
Eliza Madrigal: aw, difficult... nice that she reaches out
Riddle Sideways: she needs to decide all the future right now
Eliza Madrigal: that is what everything is telling her I guess
Riddle Sideways: yes nice, but how to help
    Eliza Madrigal: modeling restfulness?
Riddle Sideways: the anxiety over perhaps making the WRONG decision now
Eliza Madrigal: she is indeed at a pivotal point in life, so denying that is surely no help...

Riddle Sideways: this parenting stuff is an for the weak
    Riddle Sideways: *not
Eliza Madrigal: and yet the anxiety doesn't leave when one crosses that point, so... hm...
    Eliza Madrigal: agree Riddle
Riddle Sideways: nope, new point just ahead
Eliza Madrigal: have been struggling a bit here too
Eliza Madrigal: thought we got through the 'tough years' ...
Eliza Madrigal: thought they were supposed to happen at a 'certain place'
    Eliza Madrigal: and then >whew<
Riddle Sideways: please to remind.... which are the tough years :)
Eliza Madrigal: hahha... well, for me I measured when mine were
Eliza Madrigal: and thought theirs would be around that time
    Eliza Madrigal laughs
    Eliza Madrigal: silly goose
    Riddle Sideways: lol
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: I suppose what is important is that she feels she has room to make mistakes
    Riddle Sideways: she knows that
    Eliza Madrigal: adaptability
Riddle Sideways: it is more about... is she going to miss something
    Eliza Madrigal: ah :))
Riddle Sideways: university has 1,234 really interesting classes to take
Eliza Madrigal: wow I feel like that :))
Riddle Sideways: which is the best
                         --BELL--
Riddle Sideways: Hi Zen, come sit front row
Eliza Madrigal: Send her to Stim's class, Riddle :) It will seem an addition but maybe put things in perspective :))
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Zen :)
    Zen Arado: Hi Riddle, Eliza

Eliza Madrigal: just in time to restart
    Zen Arado: oh
Riddle Sideways: oh, did not see note
Eliza Madrigal: Shall we move to Kira?
Riddle Sideways: in 3 min go to kira
    Riddle Sideways: c'ya
    Eliza Madrigal: K :)

             This Area Restarts.

    Riddle Sideways: back
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: back in proper context
Riddle Sideways: now then, what wear we talkin abou
    Riddle Sideways: oh never mind
Riddle Sideways: just love mixing movie dialogues
Riddle Sideways: was that the gong?
Riddle Sideways: did that couple weeks ago too

At Kira Cafe there was talk of retreat locations.
    Zen Arado: I posted email
    Eliza Madrigal: thanks Zen
Riddle Sideways: thanks, is always good to get mail
Riddle Sideways: going to the postal box and having nothing is really depressing
    Zen Arado: :)
Eliza Madrigal: nothing can be a gift
Zen Arado: you have to write them to get replies :)
    Riddle Sideways: ah yes
Zen Arado: that's the hard part :)

Eliza Madrigal: I was intrigued hearing a prison librarian describe sky writing that goes on ... complex but people learn to read letters drawn in the sky :)
    Eliza Madrigal: mail without traces
Eliza Madrigal: or like Luci's idea of having the students sent imaginary emails to make plans, so cute :)
    Eliza Madrigal: *send
    Zen Arado: imermanent writing
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Zen Arado: impermanent
Zen Arado: do skywrites make typos?
    Eliza Madrigal giggles
Riddle Sideways: maybe forget to dot the i's
Eliza Madrigal: pointing may be dangerous
Zen Arado: not proper punctuation tut tut
Zen Arado: French skywriteres mus have a hard time
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
Eliza Madrigal: love the term in Zen calligraphy, "flying white"
Zen Arado: never heard of that?
Riddle Sideways: hmmm, now imagining 7 plances flying parallel dotting smoke puffs like a dot matrix printer
    Riddle Sideways: *planes
Eliza Madrigal: brush strokes that have much dry brush, in a sense
                         --BELL--
Zen Arado: we have a flying group does that...the Red Arrows

    [07:46] Zen (zen.arado): http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=red...w=1440&bih=739

           or http://alturl.com/j8s3r

Eliza Madrigal: eek did I accidentally shut off the listener? if so, sorry...
Riddle Sideways: think it was not running
Eliza Madrigal: pointer with mind on its own
    Riddle Sideways: just restarted it
    Eliza Madrigal: Oh, okay :)

    Eliza Madrigal: neat, Zen, ty
Zen Arado: one crashed last year
    Zen Arado: pilot was killed
Riddle Sideways: air shows are dangerious
                 Business meeting ahead
Eliza Madrigal: (btw, before signing off would like to ask about morning schedules, would like to go back to one but wed isn't good for me each week)
Riddle Sideways: hmmmm, tues and wed are still best
Eliza Madrigal: are you attached to tuesdays Riddle?
    Riddle Sideways: tradition !!!
    Eliza Madrigal: hahah
    Eliza Madrigal: yes
Riddle Sideways: been here so long
    Eliza Madrigal: true...alas
Riddle Sideways: maybe, will think on it
Eliza Madrigal: what about Mondays Zen? Would Wed be better for you since you have OF also on Mondays?
Zen Arado: not much difference I guess
    Zen Arado: drops Monday attachment
Eliza Madrigal: maybe give a few days to think about it, am not quite at brightest during evening sessions
Eliza Madrigal: so would be good to switch back
Riddle Sideways: which do you like better, Eliza
Eliza Madrigal: I'd be okay with either. Monday would be great... or maybe I could try Saturday mornings but sometimes the kids have things then
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, wait... not Saturdays (sorry to be thinking aloud)
    Eliza Madrigal laughs
    Eliza Madrigal: sigh
Zen Arado: maybe Riddle likes doing Wed?
Eliza Madrigal: Tuesdays and Riddle are like apple and pie
    Eliza Madrigal giggles
    Riddle Sideways: giggles too
Riddle Sideways: why dropping tues is hard
Eliza Madrigal: yes would be strange
    Riddle Sideways: wednesday is better
Eliza Madrigal: I'd feel I was always filling in
Riddle Sideways: monday is usually a late night
Eliza Madrigal: I like evenings but sometimes when they are fast paced I'm not really up to it... so...
Eliza Madrigal: don't want to be cranky :)

Riddle Sideways: now stuck in "Tuesdays with Morrie" quotes in head
Eliza Madrigal: oh, give us one?
    Riddle Sideways: http://www.pinkmonkey.com/booknotes/...thMorrie16.asp
    Riddle Sideways: or http://quote2me.blogspot.com/2007/04...th-morrie.html
                         --BELL--
Eliza Madrigal: "You closed your eyes. That was the difference. Sometimes you cannot believe what you see, you have to believe what you feel. And if you are ever going to have other people trust you, you must feel that you can trust them too-even when you are in the dark. Even when you're falling."
    Zen Arado: nice Eliza
    Zen Arado: feeling and trust
    Eliza Madrigal: from Riddle's link....nice
Riddle Sideways: read the book years ago
Riddle Sideways: always am remembering another old man in NYC that would visit when could
    Riddle Sideways: famous photographer
Riddle Sideways: millions of photos in apartment
Riddle Sideways: he would pull out a box and just start talking
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
Riddle Sideways: had so much wisdom
Riddle Sideways: all his aged friends had died
Riddle Sideways: and he was waiting
Riddle Sideways: wanted to tell stories to somebody
Riddle Sideways: we did not live in NYC then, so could not visit every tuesday
Riddle Sideways: that book was like visiting him
Eliza Madrigal: guru in the apartment
Eliza Madrigal: thanks so much for sharing that

Riddle Sideways: worse part is ...
Riddle Sideways: can't recall his name :(
    Riddle Sideways: really is sad
Eliza Madrigal: something amazing about that too...
    Eliza Madrigal: ephemeral
Riddle Sideways: can picture him and all
Riddle Sideways: maybe names are not that important
Riddle Sideways: his memory holds, but not a name
Riddle Sideways: is a name a metaphor
Riddle Sideways: not the real person, story, history, Being
    Eliza Madrigal: yes
Eliza Madrigal: what he imparted remains
Eliza Madrigal: what brought you to visit him?

    Lawrence Vyceratops: hi
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Lawrence, ltns
