The Guardian for this meeting was Adams Rubble. The comments are by Adams Rubble.

There were two sessions today. Korel and I met for the first part and then she departed and SophiaSharon and others arrived. The common denominator was winter but our conversation heated up along with our playfulness. I was having a problem with my keboard this morning and there are some odd sentences coming from me. I left them in because of comments.

    Adams Rubble: yes
Adams Rubble: I haven't learned why
Korel Laloix: I have a good frien that just had brain surgury and she is finding she use wrong words sometimes.
Adams Rubble: that must be distressing
Korel Laloix: And does not realize it until she reads back when typing or people give her blank stares when face to face.
    Adams Rubble: :(
Adams Rubble: our brains are so compicated
Korel Laloix: Especially since she is a teacher of English.
    Adams Rubble: oh my
Korel Laloix: So that is a matter of prayer and though for me.
Adams Rubble: we cantedan take much for gr
    Adams Rubble: whoops
Korel Laloix: But she is just out of the hosptial for a few days now, so we will see what the long term results are.

Adams Rubble: Thank goodness for central heating :)
    Korel Laloix: King size fleece.
    Adams Rubble: :)
Korel Laloix: We have it on, but grandma tries to freeze me to death in the summer by having the AC all the way down.
Korel Laloix: And during the winter, she bundles up and does not turn the heat on...
    Adams Rubble: :)
    Korel Laloix: I can't win.
Korel Laloix: Amazing how a cup of warm something can warm you up so quickly.
    Adams Rubble: yes
Adams Rubble: warms ones hands too
Adams Rubble: laptops are a good source of warmth too :)
Korel Laloix: Yes, if on your lap.
Korel Laloix: Oh yum... she is cooking now.
Korel Laloix: Will wait on the shower then.... smiles
    Adams Rubble: :)
    Korel Laloix: Should be good.
Korel Laloix: I should probably go help, to at least make sure she does not cooke nough for 10... smiles
Korel Laloix: Thanks for the chat.
    Adams Rubble: bye Korel :)

    Adams Rubble: wb
    SophiaSharon Larnia: thanks
SophiaSharon Larnia: nice to see Alfred's pabbox working :))
Multiverse1 Resident: I was contemplating winter, before arriving here. We are very fortunate to be able to enjoy this. As I can see outside from my comfortable living room and "see" the 2 degree temperature outside.
SophiaSharon Larnia: it would be nice it I could just highlight the floating text and copy paste, but it doesn't work like that lol
Adams Rubble: wow 2 degrees. We are having a heat wave at 17 then I guess
    SophiaSharon Larnia: 2 degress??
SophiaSharon Larnia: degrees* (it made me stutter)
Adams Rubble: Even at 2 though we can bundle up and have a nice waalk as long as the snow is not too deep :)
Multiverse1 Resident: I cannot fathomliving pre" electricity" and surviving in this environment
Adams Rubble: winter was much harder then
SophiaSharon Larnia: the rooms were very small!
Adams Rubble: Someone had to get up and light the stove
SophiaSharon Larnia: yea. the women :)
Adams Rubble: those stoves gave off much heat though
    Adams Rubble: hehe, Sharon
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hi Bruce :)
Multiverse1 Resident: heat, a narrow avenue in which to survive
    Multiverse1 Resident: Hi Bruce
    Adams Rubble: Hello Bruce :)
Adams Rubble: They spent much of their time in the warm room
Bruce Mowbray: Hello, Multi, Adams, and Sophia.
SophiaSharon Larnia: life is much simpler that way
SophiaSharon Larnia: i find myself doing it now
    Adams Rubble: more communal
Multiverse1 Resident: Yes, and to plan for the then unknown events of a new winter
    Adams Rubble nods
Bruce Mowbray needs to stoke woodburning stove --- (brb)
Adams Rubble: lots of fire wood chopping
SophiaSharon Larnia: aw nice Bruce :)
    Adams Rubble: :) Bruce
    Multiverse1 Resident: A village's efforts for all
SophiaSharon Larnia: its something to think how easy we have it now, comparitively
Adams Rubble: and how stresssed we are. hehe
SophiaSharon Larnia: although the environment is suffering for it
    SophiaSharon Larnia: yes
    Adams Rubble: yes, that too
Multiverse1 Resident: Yes, I wonder if I would have made it, back then.
SophiaSharon Larnia: life spans were shorter as well
    --BELL--
SophiaSharon Larnia: i dont think i wouldve, but then again...
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hi Eliza :)
    Bruce Mowbray: [back]
    Adams Rubble: Hello Eliza :)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: wb
    Bruce Mowbray: Hello, Eliza.
Multiverse1 Resident: We are fortunate as a speices, to be able to take advantage of the worlds discoveries, and so quickly these days,
    Multiverse1 Resident: Hi Eliza
Adams Rubble: we are talking about staying warm in winter Eliza
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Everyone :) Oh... hm, come to Florida? Best way
Adams Rubble: and enjoying winter too
SophiaSharon Larnia: yay, great idea Eliza
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Adams Rubble: hehe Eliza
Multiverse1 Resident: snow can be a blanket for some lost in the cold
Adams Rubble: I mind the snow more than the cold
Bruce Mowbray: It's 8 degrees Fahrenheit here today -- but my woodburning stove keeps the whole place cozy.
Multiverse1 Resident: tis the opposite for me
SophiaSharon Larnia: i love woodburnign stoves, they really pump out the heat
Multiverse1 Resident: and the smells are wonderous
    SophiaSharon Larnia: mhmm
    Bruce Mowbray agrees.
Multiverse1 Resident: How much do you use the stove, percentage wise, Bruce
Bruce Mowbray: I only fire it up when the temps drop below 25 degrees (F).
Bruce Mowbray: Recently, that's been all day long.
Bruce Mowbray: but it will warm up soon.
    Adams Rubble: Hello Stevenaia :)
Multiverse1 Resident: It is highly efficient at depleting the cold then
    stevenaia Michinaga: Hello
    Bruce Mowbray: Hello, stevenaia.
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Stevenaia
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hi Steven :)
    Multiverse1 Resident: Hi Stevenaia
Bruce Mowbray: yes, very high efficiency...
Bruce Mowbray: and virtually free. . . since I live in a forest.
SophiaSharon Larnia: when I lived in a house with one, i would open the door for a few minutes, the downstairs got too warm
Multiverse1 Resident: Muti is reminded of the marshmallows
    Adams Rubble: :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: thanks Bruce, now wheres the fire hahaha
stevenaia Michinaga: thx bruce (don't we need a fire for these?
    Eliza Madrigal: watermallows
SophiaSharon Larnia: hehe (and eww) :P
Bruce Mowbray: No fire here today to roast marshmallows. . .
    Eliza Madrigal: hehe
Multiverse1 Resident: got that one too
Bruce Mowbray: ahhhh! There it is!

    2012 01 15 PaB Session_009a.png

    Eliza Madrigal: magicians among us
Multiverse1 Resident: a fire on the fountain no less
Adams Rubble: maybe it will thaw it out
Bruce Mowbray: Fire on the Mountain --- I Ching Hexagram.
Bruce Mowbray: Gotta take a photo of this!
    SophiaSharon Larnia: smiles
    stevenaia Michinaga: need more fore
    stevenaia Michinaga: fire
    Adams Rubble: more?
stevenaia Michinaga: these will just brown
Eliza Madrigal: careful, alligators like marshmallows... never know what comes up from the fountain
    SophiaSharon Larnia: really? :)
Multiverse1 Resident: yes I hear it but ...
Eliza Madrigal: yes, an odd thing but that's what people take to feed the gators here
    SophiaSharon Larnia: oh wow
Multiverse1 Resident: I seen fish before
Eliza Madrigal: not I, I am sure it isn't healthy :))
SophiaSharon Larnia: weird ") maybe they bob on the water attractively
SophiaSharon Larnia: to an alligator :)
Bruce Mowbray: Very nice wood fire, Adams.
Eliza Madrigal: careful not to singe boxy's quote box
Adams Rubble: I once saw a boat in tuntainhe fo
    Adams Rubble: whoops
    Eliza Madrigal: :)))
Bruce Mowbray got three very nice photos.
Adams Rubble: I once saw a boat in the fountain
    Bruce Mowbray: thanks.
stevenaia Michinaga: was ther the begining of a limmerick, Adams?
    SophiaSharon Larnia: grins
    stevenaia Michinaga: that
    Adams Rubble: hehe
Multiverse1 Resident: remote control, no doubt
Eliza Madrigal: yup.... think someone with fiery feet who looked like stevenaia was sitting in it
    Eliza Madrigal giggles
SophiaSharon Larnia: im trying to get mine to reach, im lazy
Multiverse1 Resident: the forces of nature, very above us all, yet we can contain them to some degree
    --BELL--
Eliza Madrigal: you are skilled Sophia

Prometheus, fire, sacrifice and the human species. Somehow this stirs our fires.....

Bruce Mowbray: We have Prometheus to thank for this, you know.
Adams Rubble: I loved the steam under the fire
SophiaSharon Larnia: nah Eliza, just restless
Bruce Mowbray: (Prometheus and Adams, of course).
    SophiaSharon Larnia: Prometheus
    SophiaSharon Larnia: ?
Multiverse1 Resident: There are many tales of fire given to man, usually form a playful god
Bruce Mowbray: Stold fire from the gods and gave it to mankind.
    SophiaSharon Larnia: oh right
    Adams Rubble: was punished
Adams Rubble: tied toock a r
Bruce Mowbray: Got his liver eaten out every day as a punishment.
    SophiaSharon Larnia: brutal
Adams Rubble: took one for mankind
Multiverse1 Resident: the times were difficult then
Bruce Mowbray: Has mankind yet learned to use fire appropriately and wisely. . . ?

    Nuclear weapons....

Bruce Mowbray: (considers nuclear weapons and carbon dioxide pollution).
SophiaSharon Larnia: gifts to mankind seem to be accompanied by a lot of sacrifice
Multiverse1 Resident: Mutli, is reminded of nuclear meltdowns

    Fire is.....

Multiverse1 Resident: fire can run rampant
stevenaia Michinaga: fire seem so much like life, wonders
Bruce Mowbray: Very understandable that the gods wanted to keep fire for themselves. . .
stevenaia Michinaga: what is fire thinking
Multiverse1 Resident: even with our technology, it is a very powerful presence
SophiaSharon Larnia: fire seems hungry to me
    Multiverse1 Resident: yes, consuming
stevenaia Michinaga: and we seem cold to it

Then multiple ideas begin to light up all around us like brush fires

Bruce Mowbray: Fire consumes - - hunger consumes.
Adams Rubble: The Hindus use fire as an example to understand the concept of ssomething not being good nor bad
Adams Rubble: It can warm us or burn down our house
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hmm
Multiverse1 Resident: we consume, so that hunger is sated
Eliza Madrigal: gifts can outrun capacities... zeal without knowledge
Bruce Mowbray: Fire is one of the five Buddhist elements.
Multiverse1 Resident: key, in many if not all societies
    SophiaSharon Larnia: ! Eliza
SophiaSharon Larnia: feel that to be true also
stevenaia Michinaga: is there any society w/o fire?
Eliza Madrigal: hard to reconcile for me... insightfulness without kindness... yet it seems to show up
Multiverse1 Resident: The child will touch the flames to see what they are all about. I did anyway. ouch!
Bruce Mowbray: When the first atomic bomb was tested, some of the scientists involved actually believed that it could destroy the entire planet. . . yet they tested it anyway.
SophiaSharon Larnia: oh Im saving that for later Eliza
Eliza Madrigal: one would think they'd be tied together :)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: yes
Adams Rubble: (our cconversation is getting all fired up)
Eliza Madrigal: nods Bruce... really hard to measure at the time ... "larger good"
    Multiverse1 Resident: hehe
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: (my brain is a little lime in the coconut this am)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Bruce Mowbray loves "lime in the coconut."
Multiverse1 Resident: drink the juice then Sophia
Eliza Madrigal: mix it all up
SophiaSharon Larnia: interesting Bruce, what a risk.....
SophiaSharon Larnia: like this place is repeatable and means so little?
    Bruce Mowbray: War is madness.
    Adams Rubble: /nme nods
Multiverse1 Resident: A mad world at times
Eliza Madrigal: right now there is a controversy over research into bird flu... how to keep the knowledge of how to pass it human to human, contained
Multiverse1 Resident: yet pockets of peace everywhere
SophiaSharon Larnia: insightfulness without kindness huh. Can you say more???
    Multiverse1 Resident: mad science
Bruce Mowbray: I will find a quote used at my morning meditation group a couple of days ago. . . (brb)
Eliza Madrigal: something I've been musing on a lot... how it is possible to be amazingly insightful and hm, enlightened in some way one would even think, yet blind of heart... or, maybe it isn't but I'm puzzling
Bruce Mowbray: “Root out the violence in your life, and learn to live compassionately and mindfully. Seek peace. When you have peace within, real peace with others is possible.” ― Thich Nhat Hanh
Eliza Madrigal: _/ \_ ty Bruce
Multiverse1 Resident: That describes me very well Eliza
SophiaSharon Larnia: Thank you Bruce :)
    Adams Rubble: Yaay Thich
SophiaSharon Larnia: i think me as well, i have anger issues
Eliza Madrigal: yay Thich, on that we all agree
Bruce Mowbray ponders "Blind of heart."
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
Multiverse1 Resident: not anger so much as moving too quickly

Xirana joins us and then others begin to arrive for the guardian meeting

    Adams Rubble: Hello Xirana :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: thats not to say im not compassionate
Eliza Madrigal: yes, speed is an issue for me too
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hi Xirana
    Multiverse1 Resident: nor I
    Bruce Mowbray: reactive anger, Multi?
    Adams Rubble: anger is
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Xirana :)
    Multiverse1 Resident: Hi Xirana
    Adams Rubble: like fire
    Eliza Madrigal: mmm
Multiverse1 Resident: no, not anger at all
Bruce Mowbray: Empathy seems to be a difficult learning . . . for many.
Xirana Oximoxi: hello Adams, Sophie, MUltiverse, Eliza, Bruce
    Xirana Oximoxi: :)
    Bruce Mowbray: Hello, Xir.
Eliza Madrigal: ty for a sparky session
SophiaSharon Larnia: and for some, to seperate themselves from empathy is a contant life task
    SophiaSharon Larnia: constant*
    Eliza Madrigal: wow
Adams Rubble: bye all who are leaving. I will have to leave after this session
Multiverse1 Resident: merely moving on for one item to the next, too quickly sometimes. And not realizing that I may have missed something before
    Eliza Madrigal: amazing mysteries
Bruce Mowbray: On to Guardians' Meeting now.
Xirana Oximoxi: a fire inside the fountain?? :)

Multiverse said: "Merely moving from one item to the next, to quickly sometimes. And not realizing that I may have missed something before". That's how I feel reading this session from this morning. Thank you for the food for thought everyone.
