Lucinda Lavender: went to a talk list night about a place called Damanhur...heard of it?

Lucinda Lavender: in northern italy... it is a bunch of temples and communities in the northern italian alps
Lucinda Lavender: quite a place...a esoteric community...trying to be self sufficiant, yet not totally as of yet...gorgeous

Lucinda Lavender: they would like it to reach out into the world...the model
Lucinda Lavender: she lived in a neuclio
Lucinda Lavender: a family like grouping...
Lucinda Lavender: maybe 15 people
Lucinda Lavender: worked 2 days a week, cooked one day... and spent time reading and writing
Pema Pera: sounds like a good life . . .

Lucinda Lavender: they have their own currency
Lucinda Lavender: most people are italian there
stevenaia Michinaga: there is at least one community in SL that, I think is trying to create a similr environment

Lucinda Lavender: would help to speak it but it is not necessar for the visit

Pema Pera: do they get into trouble with the tax people?
Lucinda Lavender: I see a plicture on the web sight

Lucinda Lavender: not sure how that works
Lucinda Lavender: they make their own power too and have to sell it back to the government what is extra

Pema Pera: something we don't talk about very often anymore it seems

Lucinda Lavender: I just realized somehow with my car breaking down...
Lucinda Lavender: that I have to make more space...can make more space as a result

Lucinda Lavender: so I have taken the opportunity to push the reset button of a pause

Pema Pera: how did that feel?
Lucinda Lavender: feels like a calmness descends upon me
Lucinda Lavender: less rushing around= more noticing
Lucinda Lavender: the pause is this point where during it I remember who I am...a bigger version
Lucinda Lavender: bigger meaning ...not sure how to describe that

Pema Pera: I find it amazing, the more I work with stopping, resting, dropping, the more everything opens up . . . and opens up . . . and opens up . . . .
Pema Pera: there seems to be no end to it
Pema Pera: as if feeding on itself
Pema Pera: freeing leading to more freeing up
Lucinda Lavender: perhaps it is a view that opens up?
Pema Pera: that too . . .
Pema Pera: and the notion of opening up then opens up too, yes
Lucinda Lavender: and the energetic affect...comes with it
Pema Pera: yes
Pema Pera: when we are moving, we tend to look in one direction, the one we are moving too -- but when we really sit still, we become omnidirectional
Lucinda Lavender: there are so many patterned ways of seeing onesself that it gives the support for to carring them all
Lucinda Lavender: carrying

Lucinda Lavender: omnidirectional ...in view?
Pema Pera: in everything
Pema Pera: in options, possibilities, and yes, view too
Pema Pera: view in a very broad sense of the word
Pema Pera: we tend to walk straight by opportunities
Pema Pera: unless we specifically look for some
Pema Pera: but when we stay perfectly still, without any direct aim, opportunities are more easily heard
Pema Pera: noticed

Pema Pera: it's like the difference between using medicine for a particular illness, and just resting and letting the body naturally recover, when possible
Lucinda Lavender: yes
Lucinda Lavender: :) I am thinking about music...the conducting there and then the conducting of oneself in a chool environment

Lucinda Lavender: where so many things are presenting themselves and one is choosing which thread to deal with
Pema Pera: have you been involved in conducting in a school?
Lucinda Lavender: well it feels like conducting in the classroom sometimes
Lucinda Lavender: listening...attending to some themes that are coming forth
Pema Pera: ah yes
Lucinda Lavender: and just thought I could have a pause in the classroom:)
Lucinda Lavender: for everyone
Pema Pera: the most interesting application of "stopping" or going for a break (9 sec or otherwise) is the possibility of resting in the middle of activity
Pema Pera: though an explicit break may be intriguing too, for the children :-)
Lucinda Lavender: freeing the who efforting

Pema Pera: a very interesting experiment is to "stop" or "pause" while talking with someone
Pema Pera: like giving your horses more leeway
Pema Pera: waiting just a little longer before jumping in

Pema Pera: and picking up more of the thread of the other rather than coming up with something new to say
Lucinda Lavender: yes:) there is a certain unfolding that happens...
