Wol Euler was the guardian for this Good Friday session.
Wol Euler smiles.
Wol Euler: good morning, aggers
Agatha Macbeth: Mornin Wolbunneh :)
Wol Euler grins.
Agatha Macbeth: Happy Good Friday
Agatha Macbeth: How's yer black eggs?
Agatha Macbeth: Hello Raff
Wol Euler: hello raffi, haven't seen you for a while
Raffila Millgrove: hi Agg and Wol
Wol Euler: the eggs are eggy, thanks
Agatha Macbeth: Yay
Agatha Macbeth wonders if the yolks are black too
Agatha Macbeth: brb - kitchen
Wol Euler: me too, coffee is ready :)
Raffila Millgrove: intresting Easter ouffit Wol. very cool
Agatha Macbeth: Back
Agatha Macbeth: Sorry, still waking up
Wol Euler: back
Agatha Macbeth: Both of us then :p
Wol Euler: thank you, made by a really great designer called Vitabela Dubrovna
Agatha Macbeth: How are you feeling today Wol? Better?
Wol Euler: not really, thanks
Agatha Macbeth: Aww
Agatha Macbeth: *hugs*
Wol Euler: I have two more days of antibiotics here, then I'll see the doc again on Tuesday if still sick
Agatha Macbeth: Seems to be lasting a while
Wol Euler: this is the fourth day
Agatha Macbeth: Hm, usually about a week with flu I think
Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler: so I'm not worried yet
Raffila Millgrove: hope you will feel better soon.
Wol Euler: thank you
Wol Euler: What's new with you, Raffi?
--BELL--
Raffila Millgrove: getting ready to have the kids over for easter egg dying.. and traditional ham. my patio flowers.. not as lush as i'd wish--but weather will be very warm.. so we can color the eggs outside .. in the garden. will be a nice day.. looking forward.
Agatha Macbeth: That sounds nice :)
Wol Euler: awww, great
Wol Euler: I hope you have a lovely day
Agatha Macbeth: Indeed
Wol Euler: but, um, shouldn't you get some sleep first? :)
Wol Euler: not that I'm sending you away or anything
Raffila Millgrove: mm it's thursday night. i was talking about Sunday Easter.
Wol Euler: oh of course
Wol Euler blames the flu
Agatha Macbeth: Wow, my thursday night is long gone :p
Raffila Millgrove: my daughter sent me photo of the cherry tree in bloom outside her house. stunning.
Wol Euler: nice
Agatha Macbeth: Sakura
Raffila Millgrove: Tokyo. she was married there.. 3 years ago.. just now.. as the cherry trees were in bloom.
Wol Euler: ooh
Agatha Macbeth: Beautiful
Agatha Macbeth: Wish I was there
Raffila Millgrove: i nave nearly finished my.. landscape and build here in SL.. for cherry blossom season. i will be sending you both invites.. to the viewing party.
Raffila Millgrove: so we can have cherry party here too as they do there.
Agatha Macbeth: Ooh great
Agatha Macbeth: Look forward to that
Raffila Millgrove: i am trying to figure best solution to so many different time schemes. Will proably do an 11-1am slot. Could you make that?
Raffila Millgrove: sl time?
Agatha Macbeth: Hopefully i won't be as lagged as I was at the party
Agatha Macbeth: Er...which day Raff?
Raffila Millgrove: no day set right now. just trying to get time slots figured.
Wol Euler: 11am is great for me, that is 8pm in RL
Wol Euler: saturday is bad, if I may make a wish
Agatha Macbeth: Oh right
Wol Euler: I have a long-standing party commitment 8pm saturday :)
Raffila Millgrove: no. i think not weekend. weeday.
Agatha Macbeth: Well let's see, that would be fine for me any day but saturday
Raffila Millgrove: so you think you could do 11 AM sl time?
Agatha Macbeth: Right.
Agatha Macbeth: Great
Raffila Millgrove: that is one of my slots.. 11 AM on weekday.
Agatha Macbeth: Yep
Wol Euler: that should still work, I can probably be home by then
Raffila Millgrove: speaking of SL time.
Raffila Millgrove: 11 am- 1 pm?
Agatha Macbeth: Indeed
Wol Euler: mmhmm
Agatha Macbeth: That's 8 - 9 for me
Raffila Millgrove: or did you mean the 11 PM- to 1 am?
Wol Euler: no, 11am SL
Agatha Macbeth: 7 - 9 rather
Wol Euler: as you said
Raffila Millgrove: well i said 11 pm to 1 am.. at first.
Raffila Millgrove: haha. i think i did anyway.
Wol Euler: oh,
Agatha Macbeth: Oh, hang on
Agatha Macbeth: Now I'm confused
Agatha Macbeth reads back
Raffila Millgrove: anway.. it's not critical. i am doing 3.. so.. i am sure something will fit into your schedule.
Wol Euler: you said both actually :) but I only listened to the second
Agatha Macbeth: 11 AM SLT should be fine...yes
Wol Euler: 11am SL is fine, 11pm is in the middle of the working day
Raffila Millgrove: i switched. my frist time i ask was 11- 1am.
Wol Euler: right
Raffila Millgrove: and then.. i heard her talking about 8 pm.. .so i assume she thought 11 am.
Wol Euler: we both did :)
Wol Euler: funny
Raffila Millgrove: well don't worry about it. as things go.. maybe i don't even do it anyway.
Raffila Millgrove: lol
Wol Euler: well, if and when you do, I
Wol Euler: I'd love to attend
Agatha Macbeth: Moi aussi :)
Raffila Millgrove: the only reason taht i would be sending out like an invite ahead.. is that i truly don't want people coming who won't wear kimono.
Raffila Millgrove: that's just me. i want kimono dress code.
Wol Euler: fair enough :)
Agatha Macbeth: Kimono are totally fine with me :)
Wol Euler: I can do that
Wol Euler: I'll even wear a traditional one instead of latex :)
Agatha Macbeth: Aww :(
Agatha Macbeth pouts
Raffila Millgrove: hehe. i feel like i want a real cherry viewing party.. in old style.. and if people like to come see it.. they can come anytime.. just not when we're trying to do a real party in dress.
Raffila Millgrove: there's lot of free ones in SL japan.. it's no big deal to get ready.. i think it's ok to be strict on that.
Agatha Macbeth nods
Wol Euler: agreed
Raffila Millgrove: i also don't want my femdom buddies hauling their subs in on leashes.. so that is another hurdle to over come. lol
Agatha Macbeth: 0.0
Wol Euler: and for people who want to do it with style, include perahps two or thrree LMs to kimono stores in the invite
Wol Euler: heheheheh
Raffila Millgrove: probably lose half my friends over this.. but i am.. what is the equipoised.. or robtustly tranquil on it. (we were talking that the other day)
Wol Euler: equanimity is the noun, not sure what the adjective is
Agatha Macbeth: Equanimous?
--BELL--
Raffila Millgrove: yes but i liked that equipoise even better.. i am spelling it all wrong of course.
Wol Euler: equane?
Agatha Macbeth: Isn't that to do with horses?
Agatha Macbeth: or is that equine?
Wol Euler smiles.
Wol Euler: i is horses, yes
Raffila Millgrove: inner equipoise. i just checked the logs.
Wol Euler: very nice
Agatha Macbeth: I like that word :)
Raffila Millgrove: and also robust tranquility. those two were from Epicurean philosophical tradition.
Wol Euler: ha
Wol Euler: robust tranquility is good too
Raffila Millgrove: based on the idea.. that you're freed up.. once you don't have to worry about eternal life--threatening you with hell etc.
Wol Euler: standhafte innere Ruhe, the Germans would say
Agatha Macbeth makes the sign of the cross
Raffila Millgrove: ah. inner peace.. what is standhafte meaning?
Wol Euler: close to robust, standing firm, not easily shaken, like an oak
Raffila Millgrove: ah yes. good. like that too
Agatha Macbeth: Nice
Raffila Millgrove: that robust tranquility was appealing because it's such an unusual juxtaposition of words.. you don't associate tranquility with robust. .it seems/sounds more delicate.
Raffila Millgrove: oh.. wow.. WHy no. i respelled it.. because i mispell the first time. ii respelled into logs.
Agatha Macbeth: Mm, yes
Wol Euler nods.
Raffila Millgrove: it really is there.
Raffila Millgrove: that is sad.. that the ribbon doesn't find it.
Raffila Millgrove: maybe it has to be capitalized?
Wol Euler: yep, I'll twit bosy about that when we meet
Agatha Macbeth: I'll have to tell Alf :p
Raffila Millgrove: hehe.
Wol Euler: snap
Raffila Millgrove: oh look there. once again. no luck.
Agatha Macbeth: Yep
Raffila Millgrove: wow. that ribbon!
Wol Euler grins.
Raffila Millgrove spanks the ribbon gently.
Agatha Macbeth: It needs a new dictionary
Wol Euler chuckles.
Raffila Millgrove: i was on this Japanese hunt.. and i got these prizes.. and wow. they are so.. complicated.. and the manuals are all in Japanese. i gotta find someone to translate.
Raffila Millgrove: cuase maybe this is good stuff!
Wol Euler: what kind of stuff, raffi?
Agatha Macbeth: If it's japanese it probably is good
Wol Euler: yep
Raffila Millgrove: ok i demo this one thing.
Agatha Macbeth: Ooh
Raffila Millgrove: see?
Raffila Millgrove: it eve talks.
Wol Euler: wow
Wol Euler: no idea what that is :)
Agatha Macbeth: Hm, we need Pema here :p
Wol Euler: looks ceremonial
Raffila Millgrove: and i got a matching stand that i can put on the floor too
Agatha Macbeth: MM, no description
Wol Euler: "Hamaya is an arrow-shaped goodluck charm. It is said to ward off evil spirits and bring in happiness."
Wol Euler: marketplace
Raffila Millgrove: ok well there it is.
Raffila Millgrove: like.. i dont' know how to work it.
Wol Euler: neat
Agatha Macbeth: Ah...nice
Agatha Macbeth: a ritual object then
Raffila Millgrove: yeah well it's cool looking.. gotta admit.
Wol Euler: absolutely
Agatha Macbeth: Like a juju stick :P
Raffila Millgrove waves the stick about at Wol and Aggers and hopes she is blessing them with good luck.
Wol Euler smiles and nods gratefully
Agatha Macbeth: Well Wol certainly needs some :)
Wol Euler: awww
Raffila Millgrove: yes this could be it.
Raffila Millgrove says a few Japanese sounding. voodoo type words for added power to the ritual.
Wol Euler shivers as the occult forces are dispelled
Raffila Millgrove waves the stick around both of them again and declares they will now be happy with good fortune and good luck abundant.
Wol Euler: _/!\_
Agatha Macbeth: Japanese voudou is a fascinating concept...
Raffila Millgrove: i don't think they have any.
--BELL--
Raffila Millgrove: Gretchen goes to temples and has fortune read and puts in little prayer paper requests etc... and lots of festivals.. all seem very cheerful in nature. no dark ones. boats on the river of paper and candle to remember souls that passed etc.. very pretty scenes i get.. from her descriptions.
Wol Euler nods.
Agatha Macbeth: Wonderful
Raffila Millgrove: i think that things are getting dark over in the Caribean (sp!) and of course.. in Latin America.
Wol Euler: I was struck when I was in Kyoto by how ... commonplace Shinto seems. People walking from work to the sandwich shop would turn in at a temple, ring hte bell and toss a coin and go out again
Agatha Macbeth: Not another hurricane I hope
Raffila Millgrove: i once had a nanny. i had to take her to the police station because her family was being invesitgated for being witches.. this is in So Cal.. was very surreal experience. Brujas
Wol Euler: good god
Agatha Macbeth: Hmm
Raffila Millgrove: yeah the real police. looking into a case of threats about witches and sorcery. i believe poison was mentioned.
Raffila Millgrove: they were not kidding. we were both very scared to be sittin gin a police station on this.
Wol Euler: okay, threatening behaviour is a crime, that's fair enough
Wol Euler: but threatening by witchcraft? well
Raffila Millgrove: they wanted to know what happened.. on a certain occasion.. that she was present. i was translating and holding her hand.
Raffila Millgrove: some other person related to her daughter in law.. was making a big stew in the kitchen and certain dreadful threats were being uttered in the midst of some family fight.
Raffila Millgrove: unfortunately my nanny .. she said that these people were mixed up in this. for real and eeryone was terrfied that they would make good on the threats.
Wol Euler: O.O
Raffila Millgrove: she wouldn't eat anything after that in her daughter in law's house. she refused all food and drink. so the police were inclinded to believe maybe some truth in these things.
Raffila Millgrove: ah well.. now that i have pepped you up. blessed you and freaked you out.. i think i will continue my unpacking from the Japanese hunt. lol
Agatha Macbeth: Sayonara Raff
Agatha Macbeth: have fun
Raffila Millgrove: bye ladies. hope you feel much better soon. Wol.
Wol Euler: tahnk you, raffi
Wol Euler: sleep well, enjoy the holidays
Agatha Macbeth: Indeed
Raffila Millgrove: ty. hope to see you again before Sunday!
Wol Euler: :)
Wol Euler: I'll be here
Agatha Macbeth: Were those Vox shoes she's wearing?
Wol Euler: I don't think so
Agatha Macbeth: they look like Eidolon's
Wol Euler: haven'T been to her store in ages, to be honest
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, I keep meaning to take a look
Agatha Macbeth: she'd added a bit on last time I was there
Wol Euler: ah :)
Wol Euler: well, why don't we do that right now?
Agatha Macbeth: Could do
Wol Euler grins.
