Wol Euler was guardian for this session.

Wol Euler: timezone appropriate greetings, Korel
Korel Laloix: Way too early in the morning... smiles
Korel Laloix: How are you today?
    Wol Euler smiles.
    Wol Euler: pretty well thanks
Wol Euler: looking forward to an afternoon nap :)
Wol Euler: (gotta plan these things)
    Wol Euler: and yourself?
Korel Laloix: Had a hard day at work yesterday... so went ot be early... so up early... way too early.
Korel Laloix: About to go run I think.
    Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler: is the sky brightening yet?

    --BELL--

Wol Euler: probably still too early in the year for that
Korel Laloix: No, it is dark... but the wind is silly strong right now...
Korel Laloix: SO might change my mind when I get out.
    Wol Euler: yeah
Korel Laloix: I like running in the dark.... as long as I feel safe.
Wol Euler: I kept hearing reports of intense storms from the midwestern US yesterday
Wol Euler: people worried about whether tornadoes might spawn
Korel Laloix: We have thankfully missed it.
    Wol Euler: good
Korel Laloix: Just bad wind and electricalstormes here... barely any rain so far.
Korel Laloix: Just lots of wind.
    Wol Euler: hmmmm
Wol Euler: well, be careful out there
Korel Laloix: I am... fortunatly I can outrun almost anyone.....
Korel Laloix: Which has come in handy a couple of times for sure.
Wol Euler: oh, I meant the weather, but that too
Korel Laloix: I don't like running in lightening.
    Wol Euler: quite right
Korel Laloix: I am pretty sure I won't get hit.. but it is just to loud for me.
Korel Laloix: The electrial storms we get here are very inense somtimes.
    Qt Core: Hi all
    Korel Laloix: osiyo
    Wol Euler: hello qt
Wol Euler: having a nice morning?
Qt Core: being awake for 20 min, still alive, yes, a nice morning ;-)
    Wol Euler smiles.
Korel Laloix: Being alive is a good place to start from.
Wol Euler: certainly better than any known alternative
Korel Laloix: THinking of breakfast now.
    Wol Euler: O.O
Wol Euler: but you'll go back to bed after your run?
Korel Laloix: No.. I am up now.
    Wol Euler: wow
Korel Laloix: I went to bed early.
Wol Euler: oh, I get it
Korel Laloix: Don't ask me to explain my sleep, I don't even understand it.
Wol Euler: when I hear "went to bed early" I assume "to sleep much longer than usual"
    Wol Euler: konichiwa Raffi-sama
Korel Laloix: I can't sleep for more than six hours a day unless I am really sick or on drugs.
    Korel Laloix: Heya.
    Raffila Millgrove: hi Wol
    Qt Core: Hi Raffila
Raffila Millgrove: hi Korel and Qt
    Korel Laloix smiles
Korel Laloix: Anyone doing the 99 day thing?
Raffila Millgrove: i was late cause i was deep reading the chatlog of the discussion today on potential topics for themed discussion.
Wol Euler: I sometimes forget to
Raffila Millgrove: (not me on the 99 day) Wol you are in it?
    Qt Core: me neither
Wol Euler: officially yes, but as I said I'm a very poor member
Wol Euler: I tend to get up too late, hit the ground running and then think many hours later "there was something I should have done ..."
Korel Laloix: Was thinking of things I wanted to do, but don't... and I am sadly so type A, that I don't have anything that I think fits the program.
Raffila Millgrove: can i ask you all. Wol you join around the beginning of second year, right? and QT and Korel.. when did you all come into PaB
Wol Euler: the only program is to do whatever-it-is regularly and to write about it
Wol Euler: the activity itself can be anything you wish
Wol Euler: Raffi, that's right, I was fairly early on
Raffila Millgrove: QT and Korel.. when did you come?

    --BELL--

    Korel Laloix: THinking
Korel Laloix: I think 2009 was the first time I came by, but 2010 when I started comming regularly.
Raffila Millgrove: i wonder, if you find time. you could read the chatlog from the 1pm meet today. I think..it's seminal. important.
    Korel Laloix: OK.
Wol Euler: I certainly intend to, after this meeting
    Raffila Millgrove: thanks.
Raffila Millgrove: i won't try to summarize. That's why I ask you to look at it.
    Wol Euler smiles.
Raffila Millgrove: later at your convenience.
    Wol Euler: fair enough
Wol Euler: there will probably be meetings about the meeting, 1pm today
Qt Core: going meta, a favorite of ours ;-)
Raffila Millgrove: well at 8 today is Guardian meet and again at 1 pm.. is set the same subject for discussion--what topics would be good for themed discussions.
    Wol Euler grins.
Wol Euler: oh, right, I need to make a list of all the activities
Wol Euler: because Adams has another Art History presentation at noon
Wol Euler: hmmm, busy day suddenly
Raffila Millgrove: yes i have guests coming at 1 pm today... so.. i cannot make either the art history (which is so good) or the second meet.
Wol Euler: how are the cherry blossoms coming along, raffi?
Raffila Millgrove: at 1 pm today.. which i left another event to come to--the topics.. of themed discussion, this never came up.. we didn't get there.
Wol Euler: oh, so was the good discussion in the 7pm?
Raffila Millgrove: we did not make it to talk about any topics.. we were discussion other issue.
Raffila Millgrove: no.. at 7pm, they were not talking on much.
Wol Euler: I'm confused, which log should I read?
    Raffila Millgrove: 1pm
    Wol Euler: ty
    Raffila Millgrove: of Sat.
Raffila Millgrove: that is where the topics.. for themed discussion were to be.. thought about.
Raffila Millgrove: but it didn't happen. no topics made to table.
Raffila Millgrove: I came prepared with topic possibles.. but it was not possible to mention. I cannot come to the meet today to give any.
Wol Euler: would you like to give them to me in a notecard and I can read them for you?
Raffila Millgrove: i think maybe not Wol. After that meet, I .. am not sure if there's much point.
Korel Laloix: Give it a try please.
Korel Laloix: I think think the theamed chats seem to get more out.
Korel Laloix: But that is not always the case.
    Korel Laloix: Heya
Wol Euler: hello rhi, nice to see you again
    Qt Core: hi Rhi
Raffila Millgrove: hard to say this succinctly--the idea of themed meets seems to be a solution to a variety of problems.. and i question if... it's the right solution. This doesn't mean that themed meets are not a good idea in themselves... i just questioned if they are a solution to other issues.
    Raffila Millgrove: Hi Rhi

    --BELL--

Korel Laloix: I see your point, but that is one of the things I like about this group... it is always different and changing.
Korel Laloix: So it would work some of the time.
Wol Euler: I think it's a reality of being human that no single idea solves every issue
Wol Euler: so we collect a few little ideas and see what is left over between them
Raffila Millgrove: maybe i say this differently. if a meeting held to collect .. brainstorm some topics for theme.. and the topics never make it to the table.. i dunno. what does this say about how the group is functioning. i dunno.. it was an unsettling experience to be there. i know none of you were present. perhaps you wouldn't have felt as i did.
Wol Euler: okay, that sounds odd, Raffi, I'll grant you that
Korel Laloix: There are some session leaders that are less focused than others for sure.
Wol Euler: I would strongly encourage anyone who feels able to bring focus to a session to do so :)
Wol Euler: there are half a dozen sessions without GoC at the moment
Wol Euler: plenty of scope for engagemnt there
Korel Laloix: Over the summer I hope to actually sign up for some sessions.
Wol Euler: that would be great
Raffila Millgrove: yes it would. I am so interested in the things you have shared with us about souls and your step grandma's garden... i learned a lot.
Korel Laloix: Interesting.... that you find them interesting.... THank you.
Korel Laloix: I will keep that in mind.
    Wol Euler: very interesting, sure
Raffila Millgrove: oh we do not hear this every day.. that's for sure. i lived a long time without knowing there could be four souls. i found it fascinting.
Qt Core: rl calling, have to go
Wol Euler: bye qt, enjoy the day
    Qt Core: bye all
Raffila Millgrove: when i was in school.. they would speak of primitive socieities.. i never liked that word for it.. and now of course they quit it.. because you here something as complex as the souls concept--nothing "primitive" in that.
Korel Laloix: It is one way of looking at it.... and I do like hearing of different ways of approaching things.
Korel Laloix: One of the reasons again I like this place.
Korel Laloix: I have learned alot about Budhism here, so that is something I enjoy.
    Wol Euler: good morning, aggers
    Korel Laloix: Heya
Raffila Millgrove: i like it too and this is why when statements made like recent .. meetings are "Dumbed down" or "i skim the logs because there isn't enough red meat in them".. this bothers me.. because i have come to 3 mos of meets nearly every day .. often twice a day.. and it slighty distresses me.. cause that wasn't my impression. i wouldn't have stayed if i didn't find intelligence abounding and lots of red meat.
    Agatha Macbeth: Guten morgen :)
Wol Euler: perhaps the fault is then in the person who found them lacking?
Wol Euler: insofar as "fault" is the right word
Wol Euler: many people come here looking for what they understand to be philosophical debate
Wol Euler: which often means name-calling and personal denigration
Raffila Millgrove: this is why Wol, i asked you all to look at the log.. because.. having theme meets is fine.. i have no objection--fine with me. i even came prepared to contribute a few thoughts--but... those statements.. they were.. distressing.
    Wol Euler: will do, raffi

    --BELL--

    Agatha Macbeth: How iz we?
Raffila Millgrove: we are dumb cause we do too much onigoko. lol
Raffila Millgrove: that lightness and playing on friday.. it's made me happy. i dont' want to be put into a dumb class over it.
Wol Euler: do you feel that we are dumb for doing that? (semi-rhetorical question)
Korel Laloix: That onigoko thing is a bit silly.
Wol Euler: why let their bad opinion override your personal pleasure?
Wol Euler: this is one of my many hobbby horses and I don't need to ride it right now :)
Raffila Millgrove: no i don't.. and that's why the phrases like dumbed down and not enough red meat.. were distressing. I am all for balance.. and theme discussion.. fine by me. i just find the words said around it--distressing.
Wol Euler: but: society assumes that people who disapprove or disagree are clever, and that people who enjoy are stupid
    Wol Euler: why is that?
Wol Euler: why exactly does expressing displeasure - even inarticulately - make you seem clever?
    Wol Euler: absurd
Korel Laloix: I don't think that is the case.
Wol Euler: great! please speak against it :)
Raffila Millgrove: i dunno. i got these great gestures the other day here.. a falling thru the floor laughing. maybe it looked, seemed silly--but to me.. huge few moments of stress relief and pleaqsure.
Korel Laloix: It more has to do with delivery I think....I am fairly bad at forming shades of meaning... but I can detect them well I think.
Raffila Millgrove: that's why i made my park.. for play.. to relax and see enlightenment thru Play.
    Wol Euler nods.
Korel Laloix: I like that approach.
Raffila Millgrove: and on the same topic.. someone said that PAB is a meditative community. this is true. but it's based on the NINE second mediation. that to me is the coolest thing about it.. and somehow.. that nine seconds.. idea--of repetitive.. small tax time--gosh it's really getting lost.
Wol Euler: that I agree with
Wol Euler: it disappoints me that many regular attendees seem not to know that
Wol Euler: or not to care
Raffila Millgrove: that's the point i thought partly for the bell.. i use it.. as easy way to remind.. so i am sure to get in my practice every day.. several times.. but... Bruce says no.. it's for drop down.. to stop us talking. which is ok.. that is a good use too.. but it's things like that. .. losing sight that it's NINE seconds..
    Wol Euler: it's both
Wol Euler: have to drop to clear your mind to do the nine second pause :)
Raffila Millgrove: yes. is is. it's both.
Raffila Millgrove: ty .. for letting me share my thoughts with you... it is helpful.
Wol Euler: thank you very much for sharing, raffi
Korel Laloix: I think different people have different takes on the PaB processes.
Korel Laloix: SOme things work for me, some don't... but I try most things.
    Wol Euler: trying is good!
Korel Laloix: My mediation is done usually between mile 6 an 7.... lol.... So I won't ask anyone to join me.
    Wol Euler grins.
Wol Euler: sounds like a very good place for it actually
Raffila Millgrove: oh wow. mile six and seven. raffi breaks into a sweat thinking on it.. unless maybe i could be on a bike? lol
    Wol Euler: sure, whatever works
Wol Euler: riding a bike was often meditative for me
    Wol Euler: mind-clearing
Raffila Millgrove: oh me too. wow i love bikeriding--esp thru fields.
Korel Laloix: Atually, my mind does strange and lovely things when I run....
Raffila Millgrove: i rode for so long--thru fields on tall grass in Germany. will never forget that feeling.. of freedom. and just sheer joy.
Korel Laloix: I do get a lot of thinking and feeling done.
    Wol Euler smiles.
Wol Euler: there is something about repetitive motion over a long time that does free the mind
Agatha Macbeth: Or sends one to sleep
Korel Laloix: Or get you run over, if you are not careful...
Wol Euler: as long as it's repetitive enough that your body can go into autopilot
Raffila Millgrove: you run too Korel?
    Wol Euler: well, yeah :)
    Agatha Macbeth grins

    --BELL--

Korel Laloix: I run about 8 miles a day.
Agatha Macbeth: Did you catch anybody yet?
    Raffila Millgrove: lol Agatha
    Korel Laloix: I wish.
    Wol Euler chuckles.
    Agatha Macbeth: Heh
Korel Laloix: Did date someone I met at a run once.... did not work out of course.
    Wol Euler: different pace?
    Agatha Macbeth: Interesting
Korel Laloix: YOu could say that.
    Wol Euler smiles.
Korel Laloix: I am in a running club as well.. so there is a good sociao part to it.
Korel Laloix: ANd I used to run cross country.... but was never really that good.
    Agatha Macbeth: Nice
Agatha Macbeth: What's the countryside like around there?
Korel Laloix: All sorts.... but mostly flat.
    Korel Laloix: Grass and trees.
Korel Laloix: Lots of streams in the parks.
Agatha Macbeth: Well that certainly helps if you're running
    Wol Euler: nice
Korel Laloix: I amone of those silly people that will drive to go run when I have great places to run right around my house....
Agatha Macbeth: I'll be honest I don't know much about Oklahoma except the song
    Wol Euler laughs.
Agatha Macbeth: I only know it's kind of in the middle
Korel Laloix: It is nice in it's own way.
    Korel Laloix: Lots of lakes.
    Agatha Macbeth nods
    Agatha Macbeth: Sounds good
Korel Laloix: We have two small mountiain ranges.
    Wol Euler: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbrnXl2gO_k
Korel Laloix: Lots of tribal lands and parks.
Korel Laloix: And lots of people I can identify with.
Agatha Macbeth: Well that always helps :)
    Wol Euler nods.
Korel Laloix: It matters more sometimes than others.
Agatha Macbeth: Yes I can believe it
Korel Laloix: Overall, I like it here...and I am finding out more about the state all the time.
    Wol Euler smiles.
Korel Laloix: I had never been to teh Wichita Refuge before my camping trip.
Agatha Macbeth: Refuge as in retreat?
Korel Laloix: Oh, and I will put up some more pictures on my PaB plot soon.
    Agatha Macbeth: Yay
Korel Laloix: No.. Witchita National Wildlife Refuge.
Agatha Macbeth: Oh the camping thing...right
    Wol Euler: nice
Korel Laloix: It is a big area... love it there... going to go back over the summer I think.
    Wol Euler: great
    Wol Euler: after tornado season
Agatha Macbeth: Wonder how Storm's getting on with his?
Korel Laloix: It was scarey a bit over spring break a cople of times.
    Agatha Macbeth nods
Korel Laloix: But that part of the state is really bad for it.
Agatha Macbeth: Get caught in a twister you never know you might land in Oz
Korel Laloix: We have the earthquake up here....
    Wol Euler nods.
    Korel Laloix: I wish.
    Agatha Macbeth: Eek
Korel Laloix: I have been through a few tornadoes.... so I am "used" to them.
Agatha Macbeth: We had an earthquake here not long ago
Korel Laloix: As much as you can be at least.

    --BELL--

Korel Laloix: The big one we had here a few months ago really messed things up as no on build with that i mind.
Raffila Millgrove: nice to spend time today with you. See you laters. hugs.
Agatha Macbeth: Bye Raff, take care
Wol Euler: bye raffi, sleep well, and have a nice sunday
    Korel Laloix: Ciao
Raffila Millgrove kisses all the girls bye and floats off in her kimono.
Agatha Macbeth: Oh of course she hasn't been to bed yet
    Wol Euler grins.
    Korel Laloix: ciao
Agatha Macbeth: I just finished breakfast
    Wol Euler: same here
    Wol Euler: coffee now
Agatha Macbeth: Mm, already had that to try an wake me up
Agatha Macbeth: I meant to come earlier than this
Korel Laloix: TIme to stretch and go run.
    Wol Euler: :)
Wol Euler: bye korel, run well
Agatha Macbeth: Run well K, don't get run over
Agatha Macbeth: Is it light there yet?
    Korel Laloix: Not yet.
Agatha Macbeth: Wouldn't fancy running along roads in the dark I must say
Korel Laloix: I know the rodes around here very well.
    Agatha Macbeth: Good!
Korel Laloix: SO I am good with it.
    Wol Euler nods.
Agatha Macbeth: I bet Wol's reading email
    Wol Euler: :-P
Wol Euler: listening to Dorothy singing "over the rainbow" if you must know
    Agatha Macbeth: Aww
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe she's not in Kansas any more
Korel Laloix: They got roughed up a bit last night.
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh?
    Wol Euler: storms?
    Korel Laloix: Yes.
Korel Laloix: We have had a cople of bad ones around here, but not recently.
Korel Laloix: Not going running... it must be blowing 40mph outside.
    Wol Euler: wow
    Wol Euler: intense
Agatha Macbeth: You could run *with* the wind :p
    Wol Euler: hehehehehe
Korel Laloix: I woulb be blown away.
Wol Euler: and then take the greyhound bus back home
    Agatha Macbeth grins

    --BELL--

Korel Laloix: Just looked at the weather.. winds at 20 with gusts to 38.
    Agatha Macbeth: That IS windy
Korel Laloix: Guess I will make some breakfast and drive to campus and use a treamill...
Agatha Macbeth: Have you slept yet?
Wol Euler: sounds a better idea
Korel Laloix: I went to bed early.. so got up early.
    Agatha Macbeth: Aha
Wol Euler: is the university gym open 24/7?
Korel Laloix: Oh crap.. good point... lol
    Korel Laloix: Not sure.
    Wol Euler: heheheheheheh
    Korel Laloix: Let me look.
Korel Laloix: Cna't find the hours... frowns.
Korel Laloix: Anyway.. going to go get some breakfast going... back in a bit.
    Agatha Macbeth: My timetable! :p
    Agatha Macbeth: Work today Wollage?
    Wol Euler: nope
    Agatha Macbeth: Yay
    Wol Euler: indeed
Agatha Macbeth: What are one's plans?
Wol Euler: well, some domestic work. laundry and the like
Wol Euler: otherwise reading, SL, WoW, an afternoon nap
Agatha Macbeth: Oh, done mine already
Wol Euler: guardian meeting at 8, Adams' art history at noon
    Agatha Macbeth: Mmm
Wol Euler: going to be a full day
Agatha Macbeth: did the meeting go well last night?
    Wol Euler: I wasn't there
    Agatha Macbeth: Eh?
    Wol Euler: Raffi was disappointed
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh
    Wol Euler: fracture
    Agatha Macbeth: You went after?
    Wol Euler: oh taht
    Wol Euler: sorry, yes
Wol Euler: it was very interesting, but I was too tired, left halfway into it
    Agatha Macbeth: Aww
Agatha Macbeth: A stayed about 20 mins, then evryone disappeared apart from Tiger so she left
Wol Euler: I gathered that. Funny, the stream continued to work after I tp'ed out, until I quit SL
    Agatha Macbeth: Hmm
Wol Euler: clearly a bug, but a fun one
Agatha Macbeth: Well ß had definitely gone by then
Wol Euler: yep, it was running hte grotbox
Wol Euler: but same stream server
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh
Wol Euler: even though I tp'ed around twice
    Agatha Macbeth: That's handy
    Wol Euler: unstoppable though :)
Agatha Macbeth: You *can* turn it off! :p
    Wol Euler: actually no
    Agatha Macbeth: No?
Wol Euler: because there was no stream running in the place I tped into
Wol Euler: so it *was* off
    Wol Euler: officially
Agatha Macbeth: Just hit the square thingy on your viewer
Wol Euler: nonono, ther was no square thingy
    Wol Euler: it was off
Wol Euler: that's what I mean
Agatha Macbeth: Oh, there is on mine
Wol Euler: viewer thought it was off but hte music kept playing
    Agatha Macbeth: Weird
Wol Euler: sure, there is while the viewer knows that the stream is playing
    Agatha Macbeth: Good, but weird
    Wol Euler: yeah
Agatha Macbeth: I often listen to the grotbox on Itunes
Wol Euler: me too, at work
    Agatha Macbeth: Naughty ;-)
Wol Euler: no different from having a radio playing
    Agatha Macbeth: Headphones?
    Wol Euler: of course

    --BELL--

Agatha Macbeth: You never know, the boss might be a fan :P
Wol Euler: I still wouldn't play the music out loud, I would hate to set taht precedent
Wol Euler: lest others use it too
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh yes
Agatha Macbeth: Dunno what they might put on
    Wol Euler: exactly
Wol Euler: grunting rap crap. "fuck you in the ass with my AK47" "um, no thanks"
    Agatha Macbeth: Heh
Agatha Macbeth: How's your chinese friend doing?
    Wol Euler: quietly :)
Korel Laloix: grunting rap crap..... lol
Wol Euler: very very reluctant to ask questions
    Agatha Macbeth: Aww
Wol Euler: I infer that she's used to being micro-managed
    Agatha Macbeth: Inscrutible?
Wol Euler: constant doses of tiny commands or information
    Agatha Macbeth nods
Wol Euler: so doesn't have the mental toolkit to ask us
Wol Euler: presumes she would be interrupting and upsetting us
    Wol Euler: (I infer)
Agatha Macbeth: They have a whole other mindset in the East
Korel Laloix: Yummy... smoked salmon and eggs....
    Agatha Macbeth: Nice K
    Korel Laloix: Lovely
Wol Euler: which is really awkward, because G thinks of us as Duracell Bunnies. Wind us up, switch us on, let us get on with it
Wol Euler: lovely, korel :) enjoy
    Korel Laloix: I am...
    Agatha Macbeth: Yes, can imagine
Korel Laloix: My boss is a huge macro manager.... which is ort of bad, becuase I have sort of taken on way too much power in the firm.... smiles
Korel Laloix: But I tend to do that if peple let me....
Wol Euler: as long as you use it for the Good :)
Korel Laloix: I just like to keep thing organized.
    Wol Euler: a useful trait
    Agatha Macbeth: It helps
Korel Laloix: I really don't care for a lot of the employees or clients.
Agatha Macbeth: For some of us more than others
    Agatha Macbeth nods
Agatha Macbeth: Can't pick and choose unfortunately
Wol Euler: especially hard to pick clients
Korel Laloix: All of our clients are very wealthy.
Korel Laloix: Some are really great people.
Korel Laloix: Some are aboslute idiots.
    Wol Euler nods.
Korel Laloix: Some I even manage to feel sory for.
Wol Euler: sounds a lot like life, actually
Korel Laloix: WE have one way famour rapper that is near suisidal becuase he can't get out.
    Wol Euler: that's not good
    Agatha Macbeth: Can't get out?
Korel Laloix: Trapped in a persona.
Agatha Macbeth: Ooh that can be bad
Wol Euler: introduce him to second life :) he can practice being somebody else
Wol Euler: and take that into RL
    Wol Euler: (serious suggestion)
Korel Laloix: That is actually and idea.. thanks.
    Agatha Macbeth: Backformation
    Wol Euler: yep
Korel Laloix: I will see about that.
Agatha Macbeth: and tell him it's way better to have a female av :p
    Korel Laloix: lol
