    Almost

The Guardian for this meeting was Riddle Sideways. The comments are by Riddle Sideways joined by Adams and Alfred.

Please to forgive gentle reader, of the opportunity afforded and not completely taken.
Adams' purposely sets up an interview situation where Riddle might get on the Soapbox and regale you with the way it is seen.  Alas, no the bait was not taken. Or fell far short.
Like so many times in life, there are the after-thougths of 'Oh sh*t, I shoulda said ... blah...'

Traditional reader please pass this belated and blatant hijack of what was said, by a came too late GoC.

Adams Rubble: Good Morning Riddle :)
    Riddle Sideways: good morning, Adams

Riddle Sideways: such a long time no chat
Adams Rubble: yes but reading about you :)
Riddle Sideways: and reading about your adventures :)
    Adams Rubble: How are you?
Riddle Sideways: which me? nevermind that
    Adams Rubble: hehe
Adams Rubble: tell me about it
Adams Rubble: How can you be two persons at once when you're not anyone at alllllllll
    Adams Rubble: ?
For a really fun session search on Firesign Theater in the Wiki and read our brain dumps hehehehe
Riddle Sideways: phys. body is in damage me phase, Couple days of bumps and pulls
    Adams Rubble: ohhhhh
Adams Rubble: sorry to hear that
Riddle Sideways: hehehe remembers the Firesign theater session we did :)))
    Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: hope you do mind if I sit closer
    Riddle Sideways: please
Adams Rubble: my eyesight is not so good any more :)
Riddle Sideways: am liking the red pillows lately
Riddle Sideways: please to excuse, but have not finished reading your sunday session yet
Riddle Sideways: but a great theme
Adams Rubble: I got a bit long winded
    Riddle Sideways: topic
    Riddle Sideways: no, is good
Adams Rubble: I came across some wonderful sessions of yours when I was searching the logs
    Riddle Sideways: really?? think not

Adams Rubble: Found it interesting your equating Judaism with family. Never thought of it that way
Riddle Sideways: this one is the chit-chatty
    Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: oh, hmmmm. That is the way our family/sect does it
Riddle Sideways: maybe there is book/pamplet descriptions of religions vs practice
Adams Rubble: The part of the Jewish Museum in NYC that I found most interesting was the room about Shabat
Adams Rubble: I could have sat in that room for hours
Riddle Sideways: yes, Shabat is a home/family thing
Adams Rubble: There were comfortable seats and music relating to Shabat
Riddle Sideways: a Museum would show the great art and collectables
Adams Rubble: Your comment stoood out from that experience
Read a lay description of a religion, a beginner's guide, the 101 syllabus, intro to <some religion> and get the big view, the intellectual view or the scholar view.  Live the religion and you'll see the day to day practices and the core things that make the differences.
Riddle Sideways: it is often fun to think back
Riddle Sideways: to a time when humans had no weekends
    Riddle Sideways: no time off
Adams Rubble: There were objects in cases in the four corners but it is funny, while I looked at them, it is not what I remember
Riddle Sideways: Judism invented the weekend
Adams Rubble: There was a booklet on the table with readings
    Adams Rubble: :) to weekend
Adams Rubble: yes, we need time off
Judism, invented/put in practice the 'Weekend' the 'day off' the take time off, take time to think, take time to be you , take time to BE, to BE with BEING and Play as Being :)
    Adams Rubble: prayers, poems
                      --BELL--
    Alfred Kelberry: hi :)
    Adams Rubble: Hello Alfred :)

Riddle Sideways: the family would stop the busy busy of the week and seat around and spend time
    Alfred Kelberry: hi :)
    Riddle Sideways: Hi Boxy-puppie-alfread

Alfred Kelberry: funny, invisible... er, cushion
Riddle Sideways: did you not see the red ribbon somebody put up :)
Adams Rubble: Can see where the ritual might help them focus away from the world
    Adams Rubble: red ribbon?
Alfred Kelberry: yes, a lovely red ribbon :)
Adams Rubble looks around in vain
Riddle Sideways: ritual/traditions but family time
Alfred Kelberry: adams, only glowing during the pause
Riddle Sideways: Adams, an alfred put the red circle here
Riddle Sideways: around the outside of pillows
    Adams Rubble: ohhhh
    Adams Rubble: hehe
Riddle Sideways: it gets bright red on 15min
Adams Rubble: sometimes we look in the wrong places for things
Riddle Sideways: and can be asked questions
Alfred Kelberry: named "ribbon" by wonderful eliza
    Riddle Sideways: yes, we do

Alfred Kelberry: yes, an illusive bug can stare right at you and you won't notice until someone points it out :)
    Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: or it bites you
Alfred Kelberry: or you go out for a walk and come back with a different perspective and here it is. all clear.
Adams Rubble: and some exercise too :)
Riddle Sideways: software bugs can byte and still not be seen :)
    Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: but you know they are there when the bbyte
Alfred Kelberry: not bugs if not seen! :)
    Adams Rubble: lurking
Adams Rubble: sometimes our thinking is like that too with hidden bugs
    Riddle Sideways: most often
Alfred Kelberry: um, then you make an assumption about a hidden bug
    Riddle Sideways: then it appears
Riddle Sideways: ah, like starting at the end
    Riddle Sideways: knowing it exists
    Riddle Sideways: and going forward
    Adams Rubble: :)
Alfred Kelberry: it may be hidden when it shows up itself irregularly and can not be reproduced
Riddle Sideways: remembering PaB doing that
    Alfred Kelberry: illusive rather
    Adams Rubble: toughest bugs

Adams Rubble: like the mice in the garage. You knw they are there but not when you look for them
Riddle Sideways: well, actually in our cars parked outside :(
Adams Rubble: ohhh, I've heard about them
    Alfred Kelberry: mice :)
Riddle Sideways: 2 cars have mouse leavings in them
Adams Rubble: bad when they chew wires
    Riddle Sideways: yes = $500
    Adams Rubble: ouch
Alfred Kelberry: wait, mice living in a car?
    Riddle Sideways: yes
    Alfred Kelberry: odd
    Riddle Sideways: not here
Adams Rubble: has heard of it too
Adams Rubble: they go for the warmth
Alfred Kelberry: must be either funny mice or cars :)
    Adams Rubble: cold mice
    Riddle Sideways: or urban adaptation
Alfred Kelberry: i hope rats don't do that
                      --BELL--
Riddle Sideways: all the wildlife adapts to us
Adams Rubble: all kind of sentient beings can crawl up underneath cars :)
    Adams Rubble: whoops sorry
    Riddle Sideways: see the red?
Riddle Sideways: see the red ribbon, pretty red ribbon, pretty red ribbon that means not to type this ... /giggles
Adams Rubble was looking at keyboard
Riddle Sideways: and now for somethin completely... well semi-different... well maybe not

Riddle Sideways: those museum descriptions and pamphlets about cultures
Riddle Sideways: oh dear... the topic

Alfred Kelberry: btw, where did storm go? isn't he supposed to be at this meeting?
    Adams Rubble: Thursday
Alfred Kelberry: he's usually here in the mornings
Riddle Sideways: is often here, but not manditory
    Alfred Kelberry: ok

Adams Rubble listening about the pamphlets
Riddle Sideways: goes for walks more often now days
Alfred Kelberry: opted for a walk in the mountains then :)

Riddle Sideways: think much of Judism was thought up during those long Shabot dinners
Adams Rubble opted to attend PaB rather than go to work. hehe
Riddle Sideways: sit around and argue about everything
Alfred Kelberry: good thinking, adams :)
Riddle Sideways: yep, work computer is not responding. might as well be a PaB
Riddle Sideways: use us as research, Adams :)
    Riddle Sideways: you are working
Adams Rubble: how long are the Shabat dinners Riddle?
Riddle Sideways: sundown until everybody goes to bed
    Adams Rubble: wow
Riddle Sideways: light candles at sundown
Adams Rubble: very long time in winter
    Riddle Sideways: welcome in Shabot
Riddle Sideways: eat some, discuss a lot
Alfred Kelberry: explains the lack of judaism on the north :)
    Riddle Sideways: :)
    Adams Rubble: :)
    Adams Rubble: 23 hour dinners
Riddle Sideways: then Saturday, not watch TV. maybe discuss/argue some more
Adams Rubble: a little like PaB but much longer
Riddle Sideways: maybe go ask some scholars
    Riddle Sideways: yet
    Riddle Sideways: *yep
Alfred Kelberry: pab meetings can be qualified for shabat dinners
Riddle Sideways: pretty soon whatever Rabbi Smartguy said that sounded good gets passed to the next village
Riddle Sideways: and so on and
Riddle Sideways: pretty soon it is 'Tradition'
    Adams Rubble: :) Rabbi Smartguy
Riddle Sideways: [Fiddler on Roff voice]
    Adams Rubble: :)
    Riddle Sideways: *roof *ruff
Adams Rubble: /has the song "tradition" singing in brain

Alfred Kelberry: in pab's case, the smart guy is the one who came up with the session title
    Adams Rubble: or smartgal
    Riddle Sideways: maybe
Alfred Kelberry: it gets passed in the wiki
    Riddle Sideways: or whatever
Alfred Kelberry: but we hardly argue. we need more of that.
Adams Rubble: I think we all have slipped and argued at some point :)
Riddle Sideways: Judism may have a special kind of intellicual arguing
have thought this before, but never worded it.  Intellectual arguements that do not demean, belittle or ego trash.  No, these are discovery arguement of what-ifs, it could be's and maybe it mights.  And arguments that are as full of questions.
Riddle Sideways: not mad at each other
    Alfred Kelberry: that's good
Alfred Kelberry: i wouldn't like pab to turn into a groupthink
Riddle Sideways: just knowing my point is more right then yours
    Adams Rubble: :)
    Riddle Sideways: ?groupthink
Alfred Kelberry: it's important to have varying points
Riddle Sideways: but it is a groupthink
Adams Rubble: we can have varying practices without arguing
Alfred Kelberry: tendency to align one's thinking with the group
    Riddle Sideways: yes, like that
                      --BELL--
Adams Rubble: not sure my thinking is aligned with the group only that we have the same goal of exploring the nature of reality even if we do it differently
Adams Rubble has always been an oddball
besides the love for each of you readers (yes you!!), there is a special love for Adams.
Dear reader, if you are not in love with Adams then read the early years of dialogues, contributions and explorations of this avitar.  and can I get a "We are not Worthy" ?
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Adams Rubble: and I say that respectfully
Alfred Kelberry: i read it respectfully :)
Riddle Sideways: wondering how many non-oddballs we might have in PaB?
    Adams Rubble: hehe
    Riddle Sideways: 7
Adams Rubble: could be a theme session
Riddle Sideways: ha, can hear Storm chiming in "I'm Not"
    Riddle Sideways: Python-essk
Alfred Kelberry: i'd say a person who's hanging in sl qualifies for the oddball title
    Riddle Sideways applauds!
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Alfred Kelberry: t-9 minutes to take off
Riddle Sideways: what you talkin, ya don't leave often, just often go afk
Alfred Kelberry: all systems are nominal
Adams Rubble: 2. oddball. A person who thinks everyone else is odd
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
    Riddle Sideways: :)
    Riddle Sideways: /listens for #3
    Adams Rubble: hehe
Riddle Sideways: 3. oddball: a ball that is not quite like the others
    Adams Rubble: a square ball
Riddle Sideways: pushing the square ball up the hill again
    Adams Rubble: :)
         Remembering the Theme/Topic
Riddle Sideways: meant to find out Boxy's practices
    Alfred Kelberry: um, what practices?
Riddle Sideways: need Adams' skills at interviewing and drawing it out of Boxy
    Adams Rubble: meditation by programmming?
Alfred Kelberry: there are books on that
    Riddle Sideways: ?
Adams Rubble practices meditation by cataloging
Alfred Kelberry: zen of programming, ruby koans, etc
Alfred Kelberry: meditation in programming terms is metaprogramming :)
Adams Rubble thinks this session went too quickly
                      --BELL--
    Riddle Sideways: yes, too quickly
Adams Rubble: It was very nice meeting with you both today :)
Alfred Kelberry: booster ignition and lift off of the shuttle pavilion :)
    Alfred Kelberry: be good, adams
    Riddle Sideways: yes,
Riddle Sideways: thanks to both of you
Adams Rubble: thank you both too. Have a good rest of the day or evening
