The Guardian for this meeting was Adams Rubble. The comments are by Adams Rubble. Yaku and I chatted for the first half hour.
Adams Rubble: Hello Yaku :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: hey, good morning adams
Adams Rubble: Nice to see you :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: nice to see you too :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: do you have a subject for the session today ?
Adams Rubble: I had not thought of it. We ae juust back from a little trip last night
Adams Rubble: do you have a subject?
Yakuzza Lethecus: hope it was good
Adams Rubble: yes, it was wonderful
Adams Rubble: we spent the night on an island as guest lighthouse keepers one of the nights
Adams Rubble: then later we went to a Russian icon Museum that also was wonderful
Yakuzza Lethecus: oh, sounds like the seattle retreat last year
Adams Rubble: :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: well maybe not the icon museum
Adams Rubble: hehe
Adams Rubble: it is a one of a kind in the US
Yakuzza Lethecus: just see on the art history workshop that you had a session last sunday about sacred images
Adams Rubble: yes there was a session on Hindu and Orthodox icons
Adams Rubble: Hindu images
Adams Rubble: The museum not only had hundreds of icons but numerous videos about the context
Adams Rubble: It was an immersive experience
Adams Rubble: Are there any icon museums in Europe?
--BELL--
Yakuzza Lethecus: did you use the googleartproject before ?
Adams Rubble: I am not sure what the googleartproject is
Yakuzza Lethecus: http://www.googleartproject.com
Yakuzza Lethecus: the last time i visited the page it was a virtual walk through museums, now they changed the way to access the works
Adams Rubble: Oh yes, sorry. yes I know what that is
Adams Rubble: It is great that it inludes so many museums but I find the technology very fristrating after Second Life
Adams Rubble: I want to look from different angles and go through doors :)
Adams Rubble: They control what you see
Adams Rubble: I get fristrated with the street view too although I am glad it is there
Adams Rubble: frustrated
Yakuzza Lethecus: yes, it´s just an augmentation not a substitute
Adams Rubble: It is a useful tool to see the paintings in their museum context though
Adams Rubble: welll, at least in their room :)
Adams Rubble: but it allows one to see what is hanging next to it
Yakuzza Lethecus: still for someone like me who doesn´t have a particular art interest it´s good to have sources accessible since i wouldn´t drive or plan a weekend (only) for art
Yakuzza Lethecus: discovering new things on accident
Adams Rubble: not everyone is an oddball like me. hehe
Adams Rubble: Yes, discovering new things by accident is a good way to put it
Yakuzza Lethecus: nah, i like that there are so many diverse characters around here, wouldn´t say odd at all
Adams Rubble: :)
--BELL--
Yakuzza Lethecus: i will tp to another location till the session, see you soon
Adams Rubble: OK, Have a good day/evening :)
