Korel Laloix: And that really lets you lie if you are not honest.

Korel Laloix: I can make stats say almost anyting I want them to.. but I don't.
Korel Laloix: Politicians do.

Lucinda Lavender: that is what I was pondering...
Alfred Kelberry: luci, it's a common practice for most stat presentation :)

Lucinda Lavender: makes perfect sense
Lucinda Lavender: that it is part of the education

Alfred Kelberry: even if you present real numbers, you can still use color, placement, perspective, etc to full the perception

Korel Laloix: Lots of ways to distort the inputs to the math.

Lucinda Lavender: right now in our state there is an outbreak of whooping cough
Lucinda Lavender: and a high school was closed due to 150 students testing positive for Pertussis

Lucinda Lavender: babies under age 1 are most endangered
Lucinda Lavender: 50% can die
Lucinda Lavender: they need extreme care to survive

Korel Laloix: Don't know enough about it.. and go figure.. a lot of dissasociated information.
Lucinda Lavender: I cannot really speak to it but this is what I heard.
Lucinda Lavender: statistics can be used to get people to take a position I am thinking... just an interesting thing
Korel Laloix: Stats are just like any tool.. their miss use and be destructive.

Wol Euler: even if I do almost all of the actual drawing, the content is group generated
