Wol Euler was guardian for this session.

Agatha Macbeth: Hm, unusual for Wol to be late....
    Agatha Macbeth checks the emails
Agatha Macbeth: Yay, here she comes
Agatha Macbeth: Morning o late one :)
Wol Euler sneaks up behind you and nuzzles the back of your neck
    Agatha Macbeth: Mmmmm
    Wol Euler: good morning
    Agatha Macbeth: How iz we?
Wol Euler: late out of bed :) no breakfast, no coffee
Agatha Macbeth: Well go and make it now then, I'll hold the fort
    Wol Euler: great, thank you
    Agatha Macbeth: YW ♥
    Agatha Macbeth: Hi QT
    Qt Core: Hi Agatha, Wol
Agatha Macbeth: (Wol is in the kitchen atm)
Agatha Macbeth: Good to see you again
    Qt Core: :)

    --BELL--

Qt Core: how is life around here, lately ? i hadn't much time or been in the mood to come here.
Agatha Macbeth: Well, pretty laggy as always ;-)
    Agatha Macbeth: otherwise as normal
Agatha Macbeth: The Art in motion thingy is going up in the dome
Agatha Macbeth wonders if Wol is back yet
Qt Core: well, if it is really "in motion" the display should be installed on the train ;-)
Wol Euler: yes, thanks, but struggling with IM
    Agatha Macbeth grins
    Agatha Macbeth: Yes!
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh, ok
Agatha Macbeth: How does one struggle with IM? :p
Wol Euler: by being in too many of them
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah
Wol Euler: pleas continue. QT, what's up?
Qt Core: trying to have more than 10 ?
Agatha Macbeth: You should just set busy
Agatha Macbeth: I was picturing three falls and a submission or something
Agatha Macbeth: 'Help my IM is attacking me'
    Wol Euler: heheheh
Qt Core: just noticed, after years of seeing IM that it just lack an ' to become i'm
    Agatha Macbeth: Mm, true
    Wol Euler smiles.
    Agatha Macbeth: Or 'im
Wol Euler: I talk, therefore I exist
    Agatha Macbeth: Muchly :p
Qt Core: it is more i have an online presence therefore i exist (being that one of facebook and skype lately)
    Wol Euler: also true
    Agatha Macbeth: Yes
Wol Euler: all these different "I"s
Agatha Macbeth: The I's have it
Qt Core: (i'm vanishing as i lack both)
    Agatha Macbeth: aww
Wol Euler: I do use Facebook, as it's a way to keep in contact with my family without having to filter myself too much
    Agatha Macbeth: Good idea
Wol Euler: the *real* me goes into my blog and twitter, which are pseudonymous
Wol Euler: and of course SL
Agatha Macbeth: So much of you going so many places
Qt Core: tried both twitter and this blog thing, too much to read and i have nothing to say
    Wol Euler: awwwwww
    Agatha Macbeth: Yeh, same here
Wol Euler: twitter is ideal for "nothing to say", facebook is made for saying nothing to your family :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah
Wol Euler: what I get out of twitter these days is a kind of recommendation service, people use it to point at URLs
    Agatha Macbeth: Yes, that's true
Qt Core: you know, having most of my family in less than a 10 km radius (and that was an huge expansion since a few years ago when it was 100 meters...
    Wol Euler: heheheheh
    Agatha Macbeth: Must be nice
Wol Euler: yes, it's different for people who are far distant
Wol Euler: wow, I actually said "far distant", I really do need some coffee. brb
    Wol Euler: hello alpha
    reachashishs2 Resident: hi
    reachashishs2 Resident: hi everyone
Agatha Macbeth: Good morning Mr Spiritual Thinker
    Qt Core: hi reach
Wol Euler: we met at Adams' recent presentation on religious art

    --BELL--

    Agatha Macbeth: Oh, right
Wol Euler: I'll give you a notecard and a brief introduction in IM
Agatha Macbeth: Thought the name was familiar
Wol Euler: please continue, qt and aggers
Agatha Macbeth: What's the weather like there QT?
    Wol Euler sighs.
Wol Euler: I was hoping you'd continue the topic
    Agatha Macbeth: :0
    Wol Euler grins.
Agatha Macbeth: What was the topic?
Agatha Macbeth: Actually I think weather's a bloody good topic
Qt Core: this week we reached 29/30 C but mostly windy, so basically great (sadly it mostly rained where the earthquake hit past sunday)
    Wol Euler: earthquake?!?
    Agatha Macbeth: Earthquake? Oh wow
Agatha Macbeth: Hope the leaning tower is still up
Qt Core: yes, it was north of Pisa, but many other historical towers centuries old came down
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh hell
Wol Euler: oh no, I didn't hear.
Agatha Macbeth: I never look at the news so didn't know
Agatha Macbeth: I didn't know Robin Gibb died til Zen told me
    Wol Euler nods.
Qt Core: lately i follow little news too, but sunday night that earthquake awoke me
Wol Euler: you felt it? over that distance? wow
Agatha Macbeth: We had one here seven or eight years ago
    Agatha Macbeth: Spooky feeling
    Wol Euler nods.
Agatha Macbeth: It must be terrible in places like Japan and California where they happen regularly
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
Qt Core: don't know, there you know that they can hit, around here we didn't since a few years ago so it crumbs your "viiew" and "security"
    Wol Euler: yep
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh yes, totally
Wol Euler: but there is probably nowhere on earth that they *cannot* happen
Wol Euler: when I was growing up, it was known that Toronto was entirely safe from earthquakes, geologically impossible that one could happen there. Lucky us!
Wol Euler: well, there was one there about 3 years ago
Agatha Macbeth: Safest place to be is in the middle of a plate, far away from the edges
Qt Core: let say the middle of australian deserts ? same place for a nuclear war if i remember itr right
    Agatha Macbeth: Mm, could be
Wol Euler: or the middle of siberia
Agatha Macbeth: Damn hot there tho
Wol Euler: or ... directly on top of the Yosemite supervolcano
Agatha Macbeth: Australia - not Siberia
    Agatha Macbeth: Erk
Qt Core: that too, you have not to worry, if it goes boom it will end quiclk...
    Wol Euler: agreed
    Agatha Macbeth: Ha!

    --BELL--

reachashishs2 Resident: the aftershocks are more devastating than the main tremor
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, they cause tsunami
Qt Core: yes, reach, i heard that the kids are taking it the worst as it really wont stop (about 5 little earthquake a day now in the area)
    Wol Euler nods.
Qt Core: shaking the damaged buildings and souls
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
Wol Euler: I can see that being hard to explain to kids
Wol Euler: hard enough for adults to understand
    Agatha Macbeth: Yeh
reachashishs2 Resident: kids can escape the wrath easily
reachashishs2 Resident: they can slip under tables
reachashishs2 Resident: and thus survive a building collapse
Agatha Macbeth: I might try that myself
reachashishs2 Resident: its the adults who need to worry
reachashishs2 Resident: most of them are outsized
reachashishs2 Resident: for their own pyjamas even
Agatha Macbeth: Would need to find a big table :p
Qt Core: as you are speaking to a fatty guy you are not helping ;-)
    Agatha Macbeth grins
Wol Euler is on the second floor of a seven storey building. Would need to find a table made of concrete and steel
    reachashishs2 Resident: tone down fella
    Agatha Macbeth: Aww
reachashishs2 Resident: a wooden one wud suffice
Wol Euler: I doubt it, not with five storeys of rubble on it
    Wol Euler: anyway :)
    Wol Euler: cheerful topic today
    reachashishs2 Resident: hehe
reachashishs2 Resident: but that's ur best
    Wol Euler: poor kids
Agatha Macbeth: I think I'd just head for the nearest open space
    reachashishs2 Resident: and only bet
Wol Euler: adults know, at least in theory, that the ground under their feet is a raft floating on a sea of liquid magma, and therefore might move
    Wol Euler: kids don't
    Agatha Macbeth: True
Wol Euler: that must come as a hell of a shock to their world view
reachashishs2 Resident: kids are hyper these days
    reachashishs2 Resident: u never know
reachashishs2 Resident: and they r smart, too
Qt Core: thy learn it at about 8 at school around here
Wol Euler: does it sink in, though? I learned it at that age too, but I am pretty sure I was in my late 20s before I really *understood* it

Aggers now says something that in my opinion has the makings of a great theme for a week of sessions.

Agatha Macbeth: To be honest, I have forgotten how I thought as a kid
    Wol Euler smiles.
    Wol Euler: mental archaeology
    Agatha Macbeth: Which is sad
Wol Euler: it's probably still with you, somewhere, at least in fragments (hence archaeology)
Wol Euler: I find bits of the emotions of my childhood from watching the boss's kids
Agatha Macbeth: Somewhere on the hard disk
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, I can believe that
Qt Core: maybe it is all there it is only that we consciously at the beginning and automatically after a while censor it
Wol Euler: it makes me remember my frustration and confusion as a child
    Agatha Macbeth: About what?
    Wol Euler: life
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah
Wol Euler: I felt that I was constantly being asked (told!) to do things that I didn't understand
Agatha Macbeth: Now there's a pretty big topic
    Wol Euler: heheh
Wol Euler: it never occurred to me as a child to make the inference that I now make as an adult: that those doing the telling should have given more and better instructions
Wol Euler: as a child I assumed that they were right and I was wrong
    Agatha Macbeth: Indeed
reachashishs2 Resident: childhood is romaticised in literature
    reachashishs2 Resident: in fact
Qt Core: so in the end you were a nice rule following child, wol
Agatha Macbeth: You do need to be of a certain age before you realise how many idiots there are in the world
reachashishs2 Resident: its a tormneted phase
    Wol Euler: absolutely
    Wol Euler: (to both)
reachashishs2 Resident: many children get bullied
    Agatha Macbeth: True
reachashishs2 Resident: just because they r children
reachashishs2 Resident: only to grow up and bully other children
Agatha Macbeth: Especially the ones who are different in some way
Wol Euler: to be different is to be *wrong*, for kids
    Agatha Macbeth: Yep
Wol Euler: that is why they have such huge fights with parents over what they wear
Agatha Macbeth: And many adults too, sadly
    Wol Euler: (among other things)

    --BELL--

Qt Core: i was quite the different one in many of the school i went
reachashishs2 Resident: u must hav been singled out then
Qt Core: somewhat, but showing that it didn't bother me at all make most of it stop
Qt Core: (never been very social, then or now)
    Agatha Macbeth understands that
    Wol Euler nods.
    reachashishs2 Resident: ashish too
Wol Euler: I suspect that is true of most of us in SL, qt :)
Wol Euler: those who understand it and feel it
Qt Core: do you ? ;-)
    Agatha Macbeth grins
Wol Euler: I was definitely an odd kid, yes, out of place
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe we should start a group? :p
Qt Core: i think we love that there is a "big red switch" to log out and send everyone to hell
Agatha Macbeth: Well in SL you can do that ;-)
Qt Core: then you start liking it and log in everyday ;-)
    Agatha Macbeth: Yep
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
reachashishs2 Resident: sl is more expressive than rl
Wol Euler: and before you know it, you find yrself talking to strangers
    Wol Euler: in RL even
    Wol Euler grins.
Qt Core: ok, rl calls going to push the big red switch
reachashishs2 Resident: can give expression to ur darker fantasies
    Wol Euler: heheh
    Agatha Macbeth: Aww, ciao QT
Wol Euler: bye qt, enjoy the day
    Agatha Macbeth: Mind the earthquakes!
Qt Core: bye all and have fun
Agatha Macbeth: Are you taking the log Wol or shall I keep it?
Wol Euler: it#s mine, I will to it
    Wol Euler: thanks
    Agatha Macbeth: Ok
Agatha Macbeth: Didn't know if you were coming at first
reachashishs2 Resident: does india interest anyone here
Agatha Macbeth: Oh yes, I know lots of Indians in RL
Wol Euler: I was only a few minutes late :)
    Agatha Macbeth grins
    reachashishs2 Resident: whoa
    Wol Euler: alpha, yes
reachashishs2 Resident: i dont know so many
Agatha Macbeth: There are many where I work
Wol Euler: I lived in London for many years, lots of Indians there
reachashishs2 Resident: i thought rl wanst so popular with indians and pakis
Wol Euler: I really miss Indian food where I live now :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Aww
    Agatha Macbeth: I love it
    reachashishs2 Resident: hehe
    reachashishs2 Resident: spicy
    Agatha Macbeth: Ricey :)
    reachashishs2 Resident: tantalises taste buds
Agatha Macbeth: Can you not get in Germany then?
Wol Euler: in the bigger cities, perhaps; in Stuttgart not easily
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh dear
Wol Euler: there are two or three only for a half million population
Wol Euler: one is good, but it's a half hour bus ride away
Agatha Macbeth: There's a niche for a business then ;P
Agatha Macbeth: Open a curry house in Stuttgart
    reachashishs2 Resident: alright ladies
Wol Euler: there was a very good one just around the corner from where I live, but they couldn't keep it open. Not enough business
reachashishs2 Resident: its time for lunch here
Wol Euler: the Germans are not adventurous about food
    Agatha Macbeth: Damn
Wol Euler: they think French is exotic
    reachashishs2 Resident: b bye
Agatha Macbeth: Ok Alph, lunch well
Wol Euler: bye alpha, enjoy the day
    reachashishs2 Resident: yeah
reachashishs2 Resident: spicy curry mom has cooked
    Agatha Macbeth: Yum
    Agatha Macbeth swoons
    Wol Euler: mmmmm
    Wol Euler: enjoy
reachashishs2 Resident: yup its piping hot
    reachashishs2 Resident: see ya
Agatha Macbeth: Taht settles it, I'm having a tikka massala for dinner :)
    Wol Euler grins.
    Wol Euler: wish I could
    Agatha Macbeth: Aww
Agatha Macbeth: I bet they do them in Toronto
    Wol Euler: oh yes
    Wol Euler grins.
Wol Euler: lots and lots of strange and truly exotic cuisines
Agatha Macbeth: You can have a few when you're over there then
Wol Euler: which reminds me, I need to send out a few notices about my impending arrival
    Agatha Macbeth: Aha
    Agatha Macbeth: Visiting SLers?
    Wol Euler: Rlers
    Wol Euler: childhood friends mostly
    Agatha Macbeth: Right
Wol Euler: but I will probably see Paradise
Wol Euler: only SLer in Toronto that I know
Agatha Macbeth: Give her my love
Agatha Macbeth: You could get on a plane and see Aph :p
    Wol Euler: will do
    Wol Euler: heheheheh
    Wol Euler: yeah, right
Wol Euler: it's nearly as far from Toronto to Vancouver as from Toronto to London
    Agatha Macbeth nods

    --BELL--

Agatha Macbeth: And Edie's only in Montreal
Agatha Macbeth: Is there a Fracturecon this year?
Wol Euler: yes, but I'll miss it. directly between my two compulsory trips to canada
    Agatha Macbeth: Aww
Wol Euler: perhaps I can get over later in the summer
    Agatha Macbeth smiles
Wol Euler: but with the possible PaB meeting in Venice ...
    Wol Euler: tricky
Agatha Macbeth: You'll be doing a lot of air miles
Wol Euler: lots of miles for somebody who doesn't travel much ;)
    Agatha Macbeth: Yes
Wol Euler: but very little for people who do
Wol Euler: I'm in an odd middle zone
Agatha Macbeth: Oh right, it wouldn't bother Pema
    Wol Euler: yep
Wol Euler: but his probable state of constant jetlag would bother me
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, can't be good for you
Wol Euler stretches and yawns. Time for breakfast
    Agatha Macbeth: Yep
Wol Euler: is there a guardians meeting today?
    Agatha Macbeth: Time for shopping
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, I believe so
Wol Euler: all right, see you then
    Agatha Macbeth: Okies, take care
    Wol Euler: you too!
