I was a few minutes late due to ‘technical’ difficulties and found Becka already sitting serenely on a cushion when I finally logged on.

Becka Finesmith: I gave up reading newspapers for that reason.
Gaya Ethaniel: I only glance at the headlines once per day online mostly
Becka Finesmith: yes. I tend to look at a news website but only parts these days (THe science parts). There is rarely bad news there :)

Becka Finesmith: I'm not avoiding the bad news it's just it give the impression of so many people in the world taking advantage of others instead of some of the good people around
Becka Finesmith: I'm sure there are many :)
Becka Finesmith: Normally based around Territory or Money

General news vs. science stories

Becka Finesmith: Look for real science stories and often they are good news and balanced

Becka Finesmith: yes. But it is a step towards proper organ replacements :)

Becka Finesmith: I hear about serving staff in restaurants being paid under minimum wage and having to make up the difference with tips purely because the employer doesn't want to pay tax on thier salary
Becka Finesmith: I hear about energy companies making us pay for Carbon licences that they got for free

Becka Finesmith: Maybe. I don't think we should be protected from it. Bad things would not be put right otherwise
W1ZZ4RD Carlberg: im afraid im slightly odd in the sense that all news is good news to me in the sense i would rather know than not no matter how bad
Becka Finesmith: but it would be nice to see that sometimes, those that have the authority to change things think the same way as the rest of us

Quel Karillion: Well, not sure how related it is but I was having a problems with my gerbil's last night :)

Quel Karillion: for a while before I decided to put the lid on top and leave for bed.

Quel Karillion: they suddenly all started crowding on their "bridge" when I was near the box they live in.
Quel Karillion: the bridge being a piece of newspaper folded several times that's used to block one hole in the box.
Faenik: why not?
Quel Karillion: they can use that to stand on the edge but it's 1.6 meters to the ground
Quel Karillion: I played with them for a while and when I stopped, they were all crowding there at once and if I put my hands close, they just ran right into them.
Quel Karillion: I was having slight problems making sure they don't fall :)
