    Pema Pera: whole swarms of them, here, these days!
    stevenaia Michinaga: yes, some enter, other just walk right by
    Pema Pera remembers the confusing first days of being in SL . . . .

    Pema Pera: and learning to talk!
    Pema Pera: whole separate culture here
    Pema Pera: I felt like an immigrant straight of the boat, at first
    stevenaia Michinaga: you having big dinner anywhere tomarrow?
    Pema Pera: nope
    Pema Pera: I am Dutch, my wife Japanese
    Pema Pera: niether of us have that tradition :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: unfortunaltely I am eating someone elses bird, another bad tradition when they can;t cook
    Pema Pera: :)
    Pema Pera: I guess it's quiet because everybody is either preparing or traveling to a place to celebrate elsewhere
    stevenaia Michinaga: I will be in town tomarrow and away on friday, the dificulty of having too many parents
    stevenaia Michinaga: and why Jewish holidays are two days long
    stevenaia Michinaga: I assume Princeton empties out this weekend?
    Pema Pera: sounds complicated!

    stevenaia Michinaga: I'm sure it has a lasting affect on how I approach the world
    stevenaia Michinaga: if you're around saturday, join Dharma and me for our annual BD fest at her palace

    Pema Pera: yes, I have made a note of it. I'll try, but I'm not sure; some other possibly conflicting schedules

    Pema Pera: sorry that I'm replying quite slowly -- my computer freezes up for a whole minute at a time sometimes

    stevenaia Michinaga: is that on all Intel mac's? I will be upgrading in the spring
    Pema Pera: actually, I was about to go to bed, just stopping by to see how things were going here!
    Pema Pera: not all Mac's -- it depends on the graphics card
    Magdalena Colclough: are you in Japan or the States?
    Magdalena Colclough: oh, I guess the States
    stevenaia Michinaga: you once said there was a way to IM in SL from an iPhone, do you happen to know the name of that app?
    Pema Pera: In NYC, yes
    Magdalena Colclough: SLIM

    Pema Pera: next week I'll fly to Japan
