    Aphrodite Macbain: Salve Qt
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hiya Fc
Qt Core: 'Sera Aphrodite, hi all
FcSeeker Resident: Hello Aphrodite and Qt
    Dash Earthboy: hey y'all
Aphrodite Macbain: Hope you’ve both been enjoying the day
    FcSeeker Resident: Hello Dash
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hi Dash. GTSY
Qt Core: not really, hoping it may improve with a Pab session :-) You ?
Aphrodite Macbain: I've just been selling my old books at a garage/lawn sale
Dash Earthboy: doing well with that Aph?
Aphrodite Macbain: nope! Haven't sold a thing yet. :-(
    Dash Earthboy: dang
Dash Earthboy: well this is the season for it
Aphrodite Macbain: I buy too many books. I should use the library more
    Dash Earthboy: lots of competition?
Dash Earthboy: I’ve had the same problem Aph
Aphrodite Macbain: lots of lawn sales all over the neighbourhood
Aphrodite Macbain: Maybe we should just have a book exchange
Aphrodite Macbain: How can we make your evening better Qt?
Dash Earthboy: but when I tried to donate to the library where my home is, they told me to take it all to the dump :(
Aphrodite Macbain: Hmm. That's too bad. They could at least be recycled
Qt Core: just being there is almost enough
    Aphrodite Macbain: ((Qt))
    Qt Core: Hi Bruce!
Aphrodite Macbain: Hi Bruce. Glad to see you made it!
    Dash Earthboy: hey Bruce
    FcSeeker Resident: Hello Bruce
Aphrodite Macbain: still got that can of coke Dash?
Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Dash and Aph. . . (I'm not really sure whether I've made it yet.)
Aphrodite Macbain: yes I notice you crashed a while back
Qt Core: as garage sales are unheard around here I’m going for another solution to my too many books.... I’m going to buy a couple new bookshelves ;-)
    Aphrodite Macbain: Ha ha
Aphrodite Macbain: Good solution. If you can’t sell it, store it!
Aphrodite Macbain: Bruce- I've been trying to sell my books at a garage sale
    Aphrodite Macbain: unsuccessfully
Bruce Mowbray: kk. good luck, Aph.
Dash Earthboy: good you have that storage space Qt :)
Aphrodite Macbain: Basically I have too much stuff. But it is time consuming and boring to go through it all
    Lugh Fehr: hellow
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hi Lugh
    Aphrodite Macbain: welcome back!
    Qt Core: hi Lugh
    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Lugh.
    FcSeeker Resident: Hello Lugh
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hi Steve
    stevenaia Michinaga: waves
Bruce Mowbray: Hello, Qt and Fc (I neglected to greet you earlier.)
Qt Core: Hi steve (np bruce)
    stevenaia Michinaga: hi everyone
    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, steve.
Aphrodite Macbain: We're talking about the stuff we accumulate and how to get rid of it. Any suggestions?
Lugh Fehr: move out to new house ;P
Aphrodite Macbain: He he. So accumulate more!

    Dash Earthboy: *waves to newcomers
stevenaia Michinaga: real stuff or baggage that weighs us down?
Bruce Mowbray ponders all the mental 'stuff' he's accumulated and how to get rid of it.
    Dash Earthboy: hey Zen
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hi Zen
    FcSeeker Resident: Hello Zen
    Lugh Fehr: hey zen
    Zen Arado: Hey all
    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Zen.
Qt Core: I throw away some while making space for the new bookshelves, but found some I thought lost or didn't even remember I had
Aphrodite Macbain: Yes, it's nice to find old treasures- reminders of things past

Aphrodite Macbain Wonders what mental stuff I have that I could drop
stevenaia Michinaga: do you need to drop things you don’t know you have?
    Dash Earthboy: Aph/Bruce, I think I've forgotten more than I remember :)
    Bruce Mowbray: Hmmmm.
Aphrodite Macbain: then you don't need to drop them!
Zen Arado: if you don't hold onto it will fall away itself:)
Aphrodite Macbain: It's old habits and constructs and attitudes I think I need to drop
    Bruce Mowbray: good point, Zen.
Dash Earthboy: or slip through your fingers, Zen :)

Bruce Mowbray likes "Slip through the fingers of your mind."

Aphrodite Macbain: leaving traces on the skin
Aphrodite Macbain: as they slip through
    Aphrodite Macbain licks her fingers

Lugh Fehr: yup i got a habit i sure need to drop
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
Aphrodite Macbain: I have a few Lugh!
Dash Earthboy: Bruce thought that sounded better than "slip through the cracks" :)
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
Aphrodite Macbain: that's where the light gets in
Bruce Mowbray is parked in the nearest library's parking lot - using their wi-fi... The library has been closed for almost 5 hours. (That's why I didn't know whether I was "here" or not.)

    Bertram Jacobus: hi everybody :-)
Aphrodite Macbain: I think I have a habit of being paranoid, looking for ulterior meanings in what people say. Not sure why I do, but it makes me unhappy.
    Qt Core: Hi Bert
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hello Bertram
    Lugh Fehr: hey bertram
Aphrodite Macbain: Zen, you are hovering strangely
    Bertram Jacobus: and lugh :o)
    stevenaia Michinaga: bertram :)
    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Bert.
    Bertram Jacobus: hehe
Aphrodite Macbain: Bruce- I'm glad you can pick up the wifi from the library parking lot.
    Dash Earthboy: hey Bert
Bruce Mowbray: only 3 out or 5 bars, though.
Aphrodite Macbain: Can you not work at home any more with your satellite?
Bruce Mowbray: i don't want to use up the remaining bandwidth -- because I have important things to do on-line this week.
Dash Earthboy: i'm getting less than that at this motel Bruce :(
Lugh Fehr: its better than me bruce and im at home hehe
Bruce Mowbray: wow -- I empathize, Dash.
Bruce Mowbray: also empathize with Lugh. and everyone else who might desire empathy.
    FcSeeker Resident: <3<3<3
    Bertram Jacobus: nice ... ;-)
Bertram Jacobus: i try to do the contrary of what you told before aph : try not to interpretate
Aphrodite Macbain: yes. It is a conscious effort for me Bertram. I must catch myself doing it and then stop
Aphrodite Macbain: We are talking about what we accumulate-both things and attitudes - and how we can drop what is not useful
Qt Core: i often do it to, aph, the funny part is verifying if you were right in the end, understanding people and their way of thinking isn't always evil ;-)
stevenaia Michinaga: why do you keep what is not useful?
Aphrodite Macbain: yes agreed Qt. good question Stevenaia. Why do we?
Lugh Fehr: llazyness steve me thinks there is one reson
Dash Earthboy: to spare another's feelings
Qt Core: maybe we don't see its unusefulness
Aphrodite Macbain: fear of letting go in case we might need it sometime?
    Aphrodite Macbain: perhaps Qt

Sharing what we want to drop

Aphrodite Macbain: Would everyone be willing to go round this circle and say what they would like to get rid of or drop?
    Bruce Mowbray: Sure.
    Bertram Jacobus: nice idea
Aphrodite Macbain: (You can always pass)
Bruce Mowbray: I would like to drop ALL ideologies.

Aphrodite Macbain: OK Who will start?
    stevenaia Michinaga: counterclockwise
    FcSeeker Resident: Hello Lucinda
    Dash Earthboy: hey Luci
    Bruce Mowbray: (I just started.)
    stevenaia Michinaga: Bruce just did
Aphrodite Macbain: Oh Luci. Do join us.
    stevenaia Michinaga: :
Bertram Jacobus: Bruce already started - right ?
    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Luci!
Aphrodite Macbain: We are saying what we would like to drop
    Bertram Jacobus: hi luci
    Qt Core: hi luci
stevenaia Michinaga: where did the fish go, Aph?
Aphrodite Macbain: No idea. They were my fish. Perhaps Storm has been tidying and decided to "drop" those
Lucinda Lavender: they might have gone away when logging was a problem recently
Qt Core: they were eliminated while trying to use the log a couple days ago when it wasn't collaborating
    stevenaia Michinaga: found them, hehe
stevenaia Michinaga: they were swimming deeply
Bertram Jacobus: where steve ? ;-)
Aphrodite Macbain: actually they are still there circulating below
    Bertram Jacobus: ah okay

    stevenaia Michinaga: sorry, pls continue
    FcSeeker Resident: takes humble bow
    FcSeeker Resident: namaste
    Dash Earthboy: bye Fc gtsy
Bertram Jacobus: you leave Seeker ?

Aphrodite Macbain: OK Bruce has said he would like to drop all his ideologies - a big project!!
Aphrodite Macbain: Dash, can you continue?
Aphrodite Macbain: Dash is typing and drinking coke at the same time
Dash Earthboy: well, being sincere and serious, I would like to sell most of what I've left behind in GA, sparing only some art, lps, and books
Lucinda Lavender: oops thought I could stay but have to go:) will listen for a moment:)
Aphrodite Macbain: Thanks Dash. I hope you find a way of doing so!
    Dash Earthboy: bye Luci
    Bertram Jacobus: okay luci ...
    Lucinda Lavender: :)
Dash Earthboy: oh, and then my car too when I can

Aphrodite Macbain: I would like to drop my anxiety over small things that lead me to feel hurt and disrespected
Aphrodite Macbain: To see things as they really are

    Aphrodite Macbain: Qt?
Qt Core: I’d like to drop my laziness (mostly a non physical one)
Aphrodite Macbain: you mean a mental laziness Qt?
Qt Core: mental, moral, social whatever
Aphrodite Macbain:! You're exercising right now in SL!!
Qt Core: and obviously the physical one too ;-)
    Aphrodite Macbain smiles

    Aphrodite Macbain: Lugh?
Lugh Fehr: i like to drop heroin and hate
    Aphrodite Macbain:! two mean "h"s

    Lugh Fehr: HH

    stevenaia Michinaga: hi Mila
    Zen Arado: Hi Mila
    Bertram Jacobus: hi mila
    milakel Resident: hi :)
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hi Mila
    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Mila.
    Qt Core: hi mila
Aphrodite Macbain: Please join us. We are saying what we'd like to drop.

    Dash Earthboy: hey Mila

Aphrodite Macbain: Thanks so much Lugh. Stevenaia?
stevenaia Michinaga: Sorry, thinking, I'd like the drop the few things of my own that seem to affect other people badly, there are many, but being tired and cranky is the worst for me
    stevenaia Michinaga: aren't many
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
    milakel Resident: example?
Aphrodite Macbain: can you drop those? or drop the cause of those?
stevenaia Michinaga: as soon as you "act out" it’s too late
stevenaia Michinaga: so I’m getting close
stevenaia Michinaga: as I understand this
stevenaia Michinaga: you just have to catch yourself
Aphrodite Macbain: and see what triggers it?
stevenaia Michinaga: being tired and to lazy to think before I act
    Bertram Jacobus: hmmm ;-)
    Aphrodite Macbain: tired…
Aphrodite Macbain: wonder why you're tired?
stevenaia Michinaga: stay up to late on Sl :)
Aphrodite Macbain: :-) are you willing to drop that!?
milakel Resident: so you'd like to drop laziness and tiredness?
stevenaia Michinaga: would rather take naps, love naps
    Aphrodite Macbain grins
    Zen Arado: love naps?

stevenaia Michinaga: dreams when I take 20 minute naps
    Zen Arado: like those

Aphrodite Macbain: Zen? what would you be willing to drop?
Zen Arado: I don't want to drop anything
Zen Arado: prefer bad habits to fall away naturally
Zen Arado: or I might develop worse ones :)
    milakel Resident: :)
Zen Arado: or I might still need them
Aphrodite Macbain: Great. Thanks. It never works for me that way. I have to make an effort to go against the flow
Zen Arado: yes but I practice
    Aphrodite Macbain: yes, you do!
    Zen Arado: that's my effort
    Zen Arado: seeing comes first
Aphrodite Macbain: yes. By practicing you are dropping?
    Aphrodite Macbain: Thanks Zen

stevenaia Michinaga: these showed up in my emailbox today from a friend, seems to relate
    stevenaia Michinaga: From Bill Martin
stevenaia Michinaga: If you want to live a Taoist life, here are ten important precepts:

    1. Avoid urgency. Don't push yourself through the day.

    2. Cease believing your own opinions.

    3. You don't have to do it right.

    4. Enjoy the little surprises throughout the day. Nothing ever unfolds according to plans and schedules.

    5. Working is natural. "Earning a living" is not. Living does not have to be earned.

    6. Remember, you actually don't have anything more important to do.

    7. It's no use trying to be useful. Just do what you do for the pleasure of it.

    8. Assume that everything that happens is for your benefit. It's happened anyway, so what's to lose?

    9. Stop thinking about it, whatever it is.

    10. You don't have to "find the energy," you are the energy.

    Dash Earthboy: :)
Aphrodite Macbain: Thanks Stevenaia. Good words.

    Aphrodite Macbain: Bertram?
Bertram Jacobus: i would like to drop wanting
    Aphrodite Macbain nods
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, the best, Bertram
Aphrodite Macbain: yes Bertram. If I could do that, everything would become easy
    milakel Resident: too easy :)
    Aphrodite Macbain: too?
milakel Resident: what's your motivation to do anything without wanting?
    Lugh Fehr: nods
stevenaia Michinaga: Being is not wanting
milakel Resident: mere instincts? eat and sleep?
Bertram Jacobus: i am not without wanting, so i don´t know. but i agree with steven’s answer / reaction to this question

Aphrodite Macbain: Mila, what would you give up or drop?
    milakel Resident: pass :)
Aphrodite Macbain: Thanks everyone for your honesty.

Dash Earthboy: and on a related note I would like to ACQUIRE more friends who enjoy making music together as much as I do
    milakel Resident: yay! :)
Aphrodite Macbain: I find that just by saying what it is, I am more able to act on it
    Zen Arado: yes Aph
Zen Arado: when we see it, some things we hang on to are so silly
Zen Arado: how about attachment to life? Can you drop that?
Qt Core: i'm wondering if there is a difference between what we want, what we like and what we should drop
milakel Resident: yes, when you die :)
Zen Arado: yeh but that's forced dropping
Qt Core: tell that to ghosts, mila ;-)
    Zen Arado: :)
milakel Resident: ah, yes, those :)
Zen Arado: drop identification to this body?
    milakel Resident: stubborn life-craving creatures
    Zen Arado: who am I?
Aphrodite Macbain: W/O an attachment to life there is despair and hopelessness

Zen Arado: I think it is fear more than the event Aph
Aphrodite Macbain: I love living Zen. I would hate to loose that state of being
Zen Arado: I enjoy it too Aph

Qt Core: only if i can get one younger and slimmer, Zen ;-)
Dash Earthboy: *when a weight watchers member sits there eating donuts and talks about wanting to lose weight, what can one deduce?
milakel Resident: would you trade your body to one in sl? :)
stevenaia Michinaga: isn’t that what we do here
    milakel Resident: um...
    milakel Resident: not quite
Aphrodite Macbain: @Mila - oh yes!
Qt Core: weadd one here, we don't trade
milakel Resident: qt, yes... it's like an extension of ours

stevenaia Michinaga: time to go my friends
    Qt Core: bye steve
    stevenaia Michinaga: thank you
Bertram Jacobus: byee stevenaia ! ...
    Bruce Mowbray: Bye, steve!
Aphrodite Macbain: Thanks Stevenaia! Get some sleep!
    Aphrodite Macbain: Bye
    Zen Arado: bye Steve
Dash Earthboy: sry, been dealing with the motel manager here for a few

Bruce Mowbray: This car is getting REALLY HOT! So, I am heading back home now.
Bruce Mowbray: May all be well and have a fine weekend.
    milakel Resident: what car?
Dash Earthboy: i feel for ya Bruce
    Bertram Jacobus: byee bruce :-)
milakel Resident: oh, he's in a car :)
    Aphrodite Macbain: Bye
Aphrodite Macbain: OK Open the window and drive safely. Bye! Bruce!
    Lugh Fehr: bye Bruce
    Dash Earthboy: bye Bruce
    Zen Arado: bye Bruce

    milakel Resident: neat
Dash Earthboy: yes Mila, he was in the library parking lot
Dash Earthboy: must have a good battery on his laptop
milakel Resident: stealing library wifi? :)
    Dash Earthboy: no stealing :)
Dash Earthboy: most libraries I've found along the way don't even have secure wifi
Dash Earthboy: just point and click and you're in
Aphrodite Macbain: woof. Somehow I got attached to Bruce when he left and had to come back
milakel Resident: i heard parents are concerned about kids watching porn in the libraries
    Dash Earthboy: :)@Aph
Dash Earthboy: many libraries have parental controls and blocked sites Mila
Lugh Fehr: heehe i don’t know why you can learn alot anyway
milakel Resident: i guess it's fine watching porn at home
Qt Core: wondering if said parents are able to stop said kids doing it at home
    milakel Resident: qt, exactly :)
Dash Earthboy: as good as anyplace Mila :)
Aphrodite Macbain: I've enjoyed this session everyone and feel I’ve got to know you a little better

Bertram Jacobus: dear friends - ty for the talk and for the company - i´ll leave for now - may all beings be happy pls (!) ...
    Dash Earthboy: bye Aph
    Dash Earthboy: bye Bert
Aphrodite Macbain: Thanks Bertram. Good to have you with us
Qt Core: at lest they can blame someone else at the library ;-)
    milakel Resident: poof bug
    milakel Resident: 2 pm
    Aphrodite Macbain: Namaste
Bertram Jacobus: ty again everybody ... :-) ...
    Qt Core: bye bert, aph
    Aphrodite Macbain: Take care
    Lugh Fehr: bye bert
Aphrodite Macbain: I'm off too. Going to try and sell those books again!
    Lugh Fehr: bye aph

    Warning: Tech talk

Zen Arado: why do women always buy computers with crap graphics cards?

Zen Arado: have a friend who just got new one and can't get into SL
    milakel Resident: zen :/

    milakel Resident: too bad
    milakel Resident: aph selling books?
Dash Earthboy: mila, aph is having garage/yard sale

Dash Earthboy: weekend here at the motel with no disposable cash is a bit limiting to one's sociability
    milakel Resident: ah
milakel Resident: dash, you know everything! :)
    Dash Earthboy: nope
Dash Earthboy: just where to look :)
milakel Resident: what gpu she's got?
    milakel Resident: built-in intel?
    Zen Arado: she doesn't know
Zen Arado: but looks like it to me
    Zen Arado: INtel HD maybe
    milakel Resident: what model?
    milakel Resident: laptop
    Zen Arado: I don't know
    Zen Arado: Toshiba c660
Dash Earthboy: Zen, she can ignore the warning about it not meeting the standards of SL
Zen Arado: is all she knows

Zen Arado: it starts to load and then disappears
Dash Earthboy: just ignore the warning and proceed to connect
milakel Resident: zen, it should be on the bottom
Zen Arado: told her to try to update graphics drivers
milakel Resident: c660 is the series
Dash Earthboy: ah!, okay zen, try re-installing the viewer she's using :)
    Zen Arado: tried all that
milakel Resident: need 3 more characters to get the model
    Zen Arado: rebooted etc
Zen Arado: she doesn't know the model
Zen Arado: (should be on box I thought)
milakel Resident: well, yea. all the series has intel gpu.
Dash Earthboy: or on the bottom of the laptop Zen
milakel Resident: from 3k to hd
milakel Resident: i think hd would be fine
milakel Resident: low to mid settings
Zen Arado: works fine except won't run SL
    Zen Arado: it won't load
    milakel Resident: weird
    Dash Earthboy: which viewer Zen?
    Zen Arado: I know
Zen Arado: tried 3 of them
milakel Resident: she's probably messed something up
    Zen Arado: V" Imprudence, Firestorm
    Zen Arado: yeh
Dash Earthboy: hmmm, Firestorm may be a problem
milakel Resident: various clients may conflict with each other too
Zen Arado: told her to uninstall all of them and reboot then install V2
Dash Earthboy: Imprudence should work tho
Dash Earthboy: and yah V2 too
    Dash Earthboy: in Windows?
    Zen Arado: yeh Win 7
Dash Earthboy: i think your advice is good Zen
milakel Resident: i'll have to buy a touch screen monitor for win 8 :)
Dash Earthboy: uninstall all and try the base V2
    Dash Earthboy: :)@Mila
milakel Resident: i hope keyboards and mice will be gone soon
Zen Arado: don't know what else to do

    milakel Resident: old tech
Qt Core: and an arm rest for the arm you'll use with it ;-)
milakel Resident: qt, better than having wrist problems :)
Dash Earthboy: i've been working with voice recog and OCR since 1994
    milakel Resident: oh, cool
Dash Earthboy: well OCR since 1990
Zen Arado: don't think I could use a touchscreen
    milakel Resident: dragon?
Dash Earthboy: looking forward to the Dick Tracy wrist computers
Dash Earthboy: dragon and Via Voice Mila
Zen Arado: Dragon doesn't work well with SL
milakel Resident: zen, you have an iphone or android?
    Zen Arado: misses letters
    Zen Arado: iPhone
milakel Resident: well, it's the same :)
milakel Resident: just a bigger screen :)
Zen Arado: but have to move my arm
    milakel Resident: ah
Zen Arado: and haven't got range of movement
milakel Resident: yea, may not be comfy for you
Dash Earthboy: Zen, watch out for auto-muting on laptop mics when using dragon or even the built-in MS voice recog
milakel Resident: anyway, the general keyboard and mice setup seems so ancient to me
Dash Earthboy: it's old audio "limiter" technology at work
Zen Arado: I have good mics
Zen Arado: don't think computer is fast enough
Zen Arado: letters get missed out
Dash Earthboy: good mics can't compensate for the audio system having clamping
Zen Arado: so the audio isn't good enough?
Dash Earthboy: i've had the same problem with my laptop
Dash Earthboy: i use Google Talk Phone
Dash Earthboy: and my calls all get messed by clamping I can't turn off
    milakel Resident: it's 2011 - time to use brain-computer interfaces :)
Zen Arado: I have used voice typing on and off for years too
Zen Arado: it makes irritating mistakes
Dash Earthboy: i can't record music video (live) because of the clamping either
Zen Arado: I have latest version of Dragon
    Dash Earthboy: cool

Lugh Fehr: bye people tnx I’ll spend sometime with my mom before she sleeps
    Lugh Fehr: adios
    Dash Earthboy: bye Lugh
    Qt Core: bye lugh

    Dash Earthboy: hey H?
    feathers520 Resident: hello everyone
    milakel Resident: hi :)
    Zen Arado: Hello Hidden
    milakel Resident: can you fly?
    Zen Arado: or Feathers?
    feathers520 Resident: feathers
    Dash Earthboy: hi feathers :)
feathers520 Resident: is everyone meditating ?
    milakel Resident: sort of
    feathers520 Resident: hello dash
    Qt Core: hi feathers,
Dash Earthboy: no, this is a discussion group
    feathers520 Resident: ah
feathers520 Resident: what is the topic ?
Dash Earthboy: voice recognition right now
    milakel Resident: :)
Zen Arado: this is me talking with Drago
    milakel Resident: not very meditative
Qt Core: feathers, we log and publish what we say here on a website and we need your permission to do it
Qt Core: and the little note giver on your left may explain you a little what we do here

    Voice recognition

Dash Earthboy: try removing Drago from your dictionary Zen
Zen Arado: I tried speaking more slowly but it still misses letters sometimes
    Dash Earthboy: leave Drago in
Zen Arado: although that was perfect!
    feathers520 Resident: er , meh ?
Zen Arado: How do they do that
Zen Arado: how do –?In a hot hot hotI do that Dash?
    Zen Arado: ha ha
milakel Resident: feather, what you say here is being logged and published on the net
feathers520 Resident: ok , so i gotta sound smart
milakel Resident: if you don't want to be logged, please, say so :)
Dash Earthboy: Zen, you've had to "teach" Dragon, haven't you?
milakel Resident: yea, can't say bad words
    Zen Arado: yes of course
feathers520 Resident: i don do it in rl n e way
Zen Arado: I havebeen teaching it for ears!
    milakel Resident: :)
Dash Earthboy: so maybe you can clean up the dictionary
feathers520 Resident: ttfn ppl !! nice meeting u all
    Dash Earthboy: you too feathers
    Zen Arado: bye feathers
    milakel Resident: meep!
milakel Resident: there, the logger scared her away
Zen Arado: what do you mean cleanup
    Zen Arado: ?
Dash Earthboy: your dictionary (-ies) for Dragon can get full of junk just like those for Word or OpenOffice, etc
    Zen Arado: yes okay
Dash Earthboy: you can remove duplicate and semi-duplicate entries
Dash Earthboy: you can remove useless words
Zen Arado: so I should read through them?
Dash Earthboy: and you can re-train on correct words recognition
Zen Arado: Okay I must have a look at that
Zen Arado: but that doesn't solve the problem of second life leaving out letters
Zen Arado: the word recognition works quite well for me usually in word
Dash Earthboy: the letter dropping sounds like audio clamping to me
Zen Arado: yeah okay but how do we stop that then?
Dash Earthboy: do you speak in even tones?
Zen Arado: I try to speak as calmly and clearly as possible
Dash Earthboy: try to speak less naturally and more like a robot :)
Zen Arado: well I probably do already
    Dash Earthboy: :)
Zen Arado: but you see that it is recognizing the words but just missing out letters
Dash Earthboy: i haven't found a way to stop the clamping myself Zen
Dash Earthboy: as I said, can't even record live music videos because of that
Zen Arado: I know you have to persevere with voice typing because the more you correct the better it gets but sometimes we get irritated with it
Dash Earthboy: but I use the built-in voice recog in Windows
Zen Arado: I still think Drago is the best though
Dash Earthboy: and I use Via Voice in an XP virtual machine at this time
Dash Earthboy: i'm just saying Zen
    --BELL--
Zen Arado: I had version of via voice years ago
Zen Arado: I remember when you had to announce each word and stop and pause after each word
Dash Earthboy: no competition for me over what brand you choose to use
Dash Earthboy: i have no dog in that fight
Zen Arado: I actually did of course at one time and they used a version called free speech or something by Philips
Zen Arado: it worked quite well but that was about 10 years ago
Dash Earthboy: ya, I remember the old VR too
Dash Earthboy: my first Via Voice was called something else and required it's own hardware card attached to a mic :(
    Dash Earthboy: sl-o-o-o-o-w too
Zen Arado: that was really primitive!
    Dash Earthboy: yep
Dash Earthboy: many IBM apps revolve around the hardware
Zen Arado: I thin I am being forced to have to use voice typing because the fingers on my left hand are becoming very weak
Dash Earthboy: i feel ya Zen
Zen Arado: I have been using voice typing the last 10 min
Dash Earthboy: i've recommended VR to many to avoid carpal tunnel and similar problems
Zen Arado: it is still recognizable isn't it?
    Dash Earthboy: yep
Qt Core: wonders how VR works for programming
Dash Earthboy: and that's good enough, right?
Dash Earthboy: i've used it in programming Qt
Zen Arado: Yes and they still make a lot of mistakes using manual typing
Qt Core: (in open spaces too)
Dash Earthboy: Qt, I've used it in COBOL, VB, Java, and C++ successfully
Zen Arado: sometimes it makes weird mistakes and you don't notice them
Dash Earthboy: but had trouble using it in my Obj Pascal IDE and some others
    Dash Earthboy: especially ASP situations
Qt Core: it would be fun teaching it vi/vim commands ;-)
    Dash Earthboy: yep
Dash Earthboy: never did try it in Unix
    Dash Earthboy: (yet)
Qt Core: maybe better not to go directly but using a telnet/ssh emulator under Win
    Dash Earthboy: probably
    Dash Earthboy: 's up Zen?
    Zen Arado: I bettr go
Dash Earthboy: have a good 'un Zen
Zen Arado: I tried to type without clicking on the window
    Zen Arado: :)
    Qt Core: bye Zen
    Zen Arado: byeee
Dash Earthboy: methinks I best move onto other projects as well
Qt Core: yeah, like a good night long sleep
    Qt Core: :-)
Dash Earthboy: should be working next week as far as I know now and will need new place to sleep
Dash Earthboy: Qt, it's only 3:30 PM here :)
Dash Earthboy: and i have construction going on right outside my door
Dash Earthboy: power saws, drills, hammering
Qt Core: oh, that is my next project, 11:40 pm here
Dash Earthboy: no napping for me
    Dash Earthboy: cool
Dash Earthboy: hope you rest easy there
Qt Core: (went to bed at 6 am last "night" and slept less than a couple hours
Dash Earthboy: i had "The Man in the Moon" playing in the background here to drown out the noise
    Dash Earthboy: during this session
Dash Earthboy: hope you get more sleep tonight Qt
Qt Core: me too, bye Dash and bye Mila
Dash Earthboy: as St. Francis used to say...pax et bonum, y'all
