    --BELL--

Eliza Madrigal: :) The theme this week, which we began discussing yesterday, is "stillness"
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey zen
Zen Arado: Hi Eliza, Yaku, Sunji :)
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Zen :)
Eliza Madrigal notices Sunshine is now in black and white... and that Zen arrived within color scheme
    Eliza Madrigal laughs
Zen Arado: yeh I made this shirt
Zen Arado: but collar isn't right
Sunshine Vayandar: sorry was on the phone ;)
Eliza Madrigal: oh, could have played it cool Zen... looks fine to me until zooming
    Sunshine Vayandar: Hi Zenji ;)
Eliza Madrigal: and even then really :)
    Zen Arado: Hi Sunji :)

Eliza Madrigal: there is a phrase my mom used to use.... "be still my heart"....
Sunshine Vayandar: nice to see you ;)
Zen Arado: if it was still she would be in trouble :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Sunshine Vayandar: hi Xiri ;)
Eliza Madrigal: bunch of clowns this morning, giggles
    Zen Arado: Hi Xirana
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Xirana :)
    Xirana Oximoxi: hello everyone:)
Zen Arado: just the usual idiots :)
    Eliza Madrigal: ha ha
    Xirana Oximoxi: hahaha
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;o)
Eliza Madrigal: it is difficult to be 'still' when someone calls friends idiots :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey xirana :)
    Zen Arado: yeh I guess
    Xirana Oximoxi: hi Yaku:)
Sunshine Vayandar: it's just a word .... it should not infuence you
Eliza Madrigal: :) lovely orange top Xiri
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;))
    Eliza Madrigal: non-sticky labels, Sun?
    Xirana Oximoxi: Zen's fashion:)
    Agatha Macbeth: G'day :)
Sunshine Vayandar: just labels .....Sun murmurs to herself
    Zen Arado: Hi Aggers
    Xirana Oximoxi: hello Agg...buenos días:)
    Sunshine Vayandar: hi Aggers ;)
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Aggers :)
    Agatha Macbeth: :)
Zen Arado: bank holiday in pab sigh
    Agatha Macbeth: Yep
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey aggers
Eliza Madrigal: is it? haha.... wonderful :)
Zen Arado: wet and windy here
    Agatha Macbeth smiles

Xirana Oximoxi: I must clarify boxy, that in Spanish 'hasta pronto' means 'see you soon... not' hasta porno:))

    Zen Arado: hasta vista
    Agatha Macbeth: Hasta porno?
    Zen Arado: :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Mama mia
Xirana Oximoxi: hasta la vista is also ok:)
    Zen Arado: hasta luego
    Eliza Madrigal: oy vey
Xirana Oximoxi: yep...Sunday he thought I was saying 'hasta porno' :)) what may he have had in his mind.... :)
    Eliza Madrigal giggles
Xirana Oximoxi: I've read this confusion in the wiki:)
Zen Arado: must start Spanish lessons
Eliza Madrigal: much confusion to read in the wiki ;-)
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe we need lessons from Stormy ;-)
Xirana Oximoxi: yes! I¡ll give some lessons:)
Xirana Oximoxi: Storm can speak Spanish?
Agatha Macbeth: He's learning I believe
Xirana Oximoxi: ohh wonderful! I didn't know:)
Eliza Madrigal: yes he is learning... there is a program...
    Agatha Macbeth: Aha

Eliza Madrigal: after the next pause, if it seems a good idea I would love hear others' ideas on 'stillness'.... First, I have an excerpt / quote.... from the tao te ching
    Agatha Macbeth: Ooh
    Xirana Oximoxi: very good Eliza
    Eliza Madrigal:

    Attain the center of emptiness,
    Preserve the utmost quiet;
As myriad things act in concert
    I thereby observe the return.

    Things flourish,
Then each returns to its root.
    Returning to the root
    Is called stillness:
    Stillness is called
    return to Life,
    Return to Life
    is called the constant;

    Knowing the constant
    is called enlightenment.

    - Tao-te Ching

Agatha Macbeth: It's all perfect ;-)

    --BELL--

Eliza Madrigal: :) of course there are many versions and where one may read 'enlightenment'...another may read 'perfection'
Agatha Macbeth: Is that the Wayne Dyer (sp?) version?
Eliza Madrigal: I'm not sure actually... it is from the web, and a version I excerpted a few years ago to lead into meditations
Zen Arado: I ordered a translation with commentary
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah, ok
    Zen Arado: Stephen Mitchell
Eliza Madrigal: when I post the log I will see to find the sourse
     (added -- > http://www.davemckay.co.uk/philosoph...teching.cleary )
Agatha Macbeth: His is the one I'm most familiar with...
    Eliza Madrigal: source*
    Agatha Macbeth: Sauce

    Zen Arado: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvZs35QPXz4
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Zen Arado: Eckhart Tolle talk on it
Eliza Madrigal: thanks Zen, I saw this too... quite good....
    Agatha Macbeth nods
Eliza Madrigal: what I like about the verse is that it speaks to stillness not as a kind of imposition but resource
    Eliza Madrigal: naturally there
Zen Arado: hard to know what it is saying
Eliza Madrigal: :) sure...but what is your personal sensibility of stillness?
    Eliza Madrigal: Agatha?
    Agatha Macbeth: Mm?
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Agatha Macbeth: Not sure I have one...will ponder
    Eliza Madrigal: k, ty :)
    Eliza Madrigal: Yaku?

Yakuzza Lethecus: i wonder how many ppl have to giggle while watching that video :)j
    Eliza Madrigal: giggle? :)

Yakuzza Lethecus: i am very often uncomfortable with stillness

Zen Arado: I put quote on a notecard if anyone wants it
    Zen Arado: saves scrolling back

Agatha Macbeth: Well to me I guess it's like when you cut a shape out of a piece of paper and are left with a 'no-shape' in the middle

Yakuzza Lethecus: but maybe i just have to allow myself to be uncomfortable to become comfortable

Xirana Oximoxi: yes, thank Zen..I was going to do the same
    Eliza Madrigal: thanks Zen
Eliza Madrigal: an empty center Agatha?
    Eliza Madrigal: core of openness?

Agatha Macbeth: An empty anywhere...not necessarily the center
    Agatha Macbeth: Is nowhere anywhere?
    Eliza Madrigal: :)

Agatha Macbeth: That's pretty much how I understand the wu-wei thing
Zen Arado: should have saved it first :)
Eliza Madrigal: can see how that might be uncomfortable... when one stops and senses something like that... and may feel to fill up that space....

Agatha Macbeth: Isn't the whole point that one *doesn't* fill it up? ;-)
Eliza Madrigal: interesting connection, wui wei and stillness
Zen Arado: it seems 'the master' just goes about his business quietly
Agatha Macbeth: Sounds good to me
    Zen Arado: no drama
Agatha Macbeth: 'Dharma not drama' :p
Eliza Madrigal: Yaku is that what feels uncomfortable? It can be very hard to 'do nothing'
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;)
Zen Arado: notices how some create drama about things lately
    Agatha Macbeth grins
Zen Arado: make everything so important...life or death

Xirana Oximoxi: the video is very long... and I've also understood , that let yourself sit uncomfortable and it will become comfortable
    Xirana Oximoxi: at the begin

Zen Arado: but I guess I never ever did get too excited about things :)
Xirana Oximoxi: I'lll watch it later
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe the best way Zen
Zen Arado: yeh it's a long video
Eliza Madrigal: nods... he points to an 'underlying' stillnes... beneath the discomfort
Eliza Madrigal: but one might say at the heart
Zen Arado: but can be just our presonality type

Eliza Madrigal: Korel mentioned that for her, she finds stillness when most active, such as when running
    Zen Arado: yeh
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, can understand that
Zen Arado: Tolle talks a lot about a stillness underneath
    Agatha Macbeth: 'running meditation'
Sunshine Vayandar: it can be any activity ...

Sunshine Vayandar: I find stillness when I play the violin

Agatha Macbeth: Oh I wish i could!
Eliza Madrigal: I've tasted stillness hearing you play the violin :)

Xirana Oximoxi: about the poem...I understand, that if you get the point of emptiness, when you 'return' to the 'world' is like rediscovering things and their essence

Sunshine Vayandar: I usually close my eyes ......
Agatha Macbeth nods @ Sun and smiles
Sunshine Vayandar smiles back at Aggers ;)
Eliza Madrigal: 'rediscovering things in their essence'... beautiful, just in time for pause :)

    --BELL--

Xirana Oximoxi: maybe it can be applied to playing the violin...you get a point where you find the essence of your music

Zen Arado: This stillness could also be thought of as the source, that which we all come from, and go back to, like waves on the ocean
    Eliza Madrigal: :)

Sunshine Vayandar: I often don't play any specific melody ... I just let it happen as it wants to

Agatha Macbeth: We seem to be mentioning source and heart a lot
Sunshine Vayandar: very nice experience ;)
Zen Arado: but also being able to return to the relative and be active in everyday life
Eliza Madrigal: dynamic... seems to touch the 'flow' experience... of when one feels tapped in, connected to the greater sense of 'what we are'
Zen Arado: the "return to life"
Eliza Madrigal: what we are 'dropping things' to remember....

Zen Arado: or maybe the return to life is rememberingthe absolute, the stillness underneath
Sunshine Vayandar: "flow" I can identify more than "stillness" hmmm
Xirana Oximoxi: the source I think is the enigma we always look for., generations of humans asking who I am...
    Eliza Madrigal: yes
Zen Arado: and we realise that we are just a manifestation of the source

Eliza Madrigal: Sun shared a video with me this weekend, about forgiveness...
    Agatha Macbeth nods
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;)
Eliza Madrigal: what can bring someone who has been terribly wronged... to forgive... think it must be this search for peace
Sunshine Vayandar: yes ...I am learning about it Liz
    Agatha Macbeth: Indeed
Sunshine Vayandar: all the hectic stuff that happened in SA
Sunshine Vayandar: but people seem to want to go beyond revenge
Sunshine Vayandar: and wanting to just be happy
Sunshine Vayandar: but it's very hard

Xirana Oximoxi: do you have the link to the video, Eliza/Sun?
    Eliza Madrigal: http://bit.ly/KOEjdH
    Xirana Oximoxi: ahhh ty! :)
Sunshine Vayandar: wow you are fast Lizji ;p
    Agatha Macbeth: She is :)
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;)
    Xirana Oximoxi: :)

Zen Arado: can we change our feeling of what is right and what is wrong?
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: I think we don't have to change it really Zen...
Eliza Madrigal: in this case it was about facing and acknowledgement
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe that assumes we know the difference to begin with :p
    Eliza Madrigal: is about
    Eliza Madrigal smiles at Agatha
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;) Aggers
    Eliza Madrigal: true, that
    Agatha Macbeth grins
Zen Arado: But it makes me realise that it is difficult to apportion blame

Sunshine Vayandar: right and wrong seems to change with time .... rights can become wrongs later on ...
Zen Arado: because my feeling of right and wrong has been conditioned in me
Sunshine Vayandar: lol was that English
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Zen Arado: exactly Sun
    Agatha Macbeth: Understand Sun
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;)
    Eliza Madrigal: yes, contexts fluxuate
Sunshine Vayandar: but some things seem to stay
Zen Arado: the hard thing to come to terms with in non-duality teachings is that we don't actually seem to have much choice
Eliza Madrigal: but that is also a basis for forgiveness...
    Zen Arado: or control
Eliza Madrigal: because if one can face something and open it into a wider context/situation, perhaps more can be seen... some way to relate
Zen Arado: but one has to want to do that
Eliza Madrigal: and then not to justify but in some cases yes, just aspiring to forgive is enough
Eliza Madrigal: maybe it can not be 'done'
Zen Arado: do you realise that forgiveness implies a former judgement on someone?
    Agatha Macbeth: True
    Zen Arado: Or something
Eliza Madrigal: a judgment on an action...
Eliza Madrigal: which can still hold, in a way

Zen Arado: and if you realise that we all act because of all the influences and conditioning on us, our genetics and abilities and interests and experiences etc
Eliza Madrigal: while seeing a person as, yes... under those sways
Zen Arado: can we be held accountable?
Eliza Madrigal: 'forgive them for they know not what they do'
    Zen Arado: ha yes
    Eliza Madrigal: they're disconnected.... perhaps....
Zen Arado: you suddenly realise that Jesus said all this to0

    --BELL--

Xirana Oximoxi: I must go now... I wish you a nice day and see you soon! :-)
Eliza Madrigal: could Jesus have been saying something like "ack, look at this utter confusion!" hah
Yakuzza Lethecus: have a good day xirana
Sunshine Vayandar: take care Xiri have a great day ;)
Agatha Macbeth: Hasta porno Xira :P
    Xirana Oximoxi: ty, bye all:)
Eliza Madrigal: Bye Xiri nice to see you
    Sunshine Vayandar: lol
    Zen Arado: bye Xiri
    Eliza Madrigal: "all this drama"
    Agatha Macbeth: Where?
    Agatha Macbeth looks round
Eliza Madrigal: just thinking of Jesus :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah
Eliza Madrigal: maybe a bit irreverently
Eliza Madrigal: :) apologies to anyone I may offend

Agatha Macbeth: Well he had a fair bit of drama in his life I think you'll find ;-)
Zen Arado: well Jesus forgave his tormentors
    Eliza Madrigal: yes
Sunshine Vayandar: I see this so well in SA ....
Zen Arado: in fact his message of forgiveness is all through the new Testament
    Agatha Macbeth nods
Zen Arado: how many times should I forgive someone? 7x7?
Eliza Madrigal: it is rather the same stance isn't it Sun?
Yakuzza Lethecus suddenly thinks of ,,alwasys look on the bright side of life" :P
Zen Arado: "Do good to those who spitefully use you'

Sunshine Vayandar: yes hmm Jesus is everywhere in SA ;)
    Sunshine Vayandar: hehe Yaku
    Eliza Madrigal: :) ::::whistles::::: Yaku
    Yakuzza Lethecus: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlBiL...unblocked=true

    Agatha Macbeth: Happens so rarely

Sunshine Vayandar: I hope I get to doing the Pemayana thing
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Pemayana?
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;)
Sunshine Vayandar: yes it's a new word by Boxy
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh
Eliza Madrigal: that thing, that thing, that pemayana thing..
    Agatha Macbeth: another one? :p
    Sunshine Vayandar: hehe
    Sunshine Vayandar: yes ... hehe
Sunshine Vayandar: it's gonna be a manga
    Agatha Macbeth: Hasta porno Pemayana
Eliza Madrigal: the vehicles ... hinayana, mahayana, vajrayana, pemayana
    Sunshine Vayandar blushes
Eliza Madrigal: pemayana is like a short cut :) according to adams
    Agatha Macbeth: Vajra I recognise
    Sunshine Vayandar: lol yes shortcut

Eliza Madrigal: rather than do all kinds of prep, everything is already prep
    Agatha Macbeth: That sounds good
Eliza Madrigal: now play that way
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Agatha Macbeth: Kinda like fast food?
    Sunshine Vayandar: lol
    Eliza Madrigal: haha....

    Sunshine Vayandar: lol ;p
Sunshine Vayandar: yes I was busy coining a word
Sunshine Vayandar: but Aggers is supper fast
Agatha Macbeth: Alf will think of one ;-)

Eliza Madrigal: sort of opposite... no loss of quality... beginning and end dropped
Agatha Macbeth: How about 'middle' ;P
Sunshine Vayandar: we don't need Alf when we have Aga
Eliza Madrigal: all middle all the time, giggles
Agatha Macbeth: Middle, heart and source....

Eliza Madrigal thinks Aggers is hiding Boxy in her hair
    Eliza Madrigal: :) Agatha
Agatha Macbeth: wonder what goes on at the periphery?
    Sunshine Vayandar: lolllll
Eliza Madrigal: (has the log title)
Sunshine Vayandar zooms in on her hair
Eliza Madrigal: "Middle, Heart, and Source"
Agatha Macbeth: I wondered why I hear barking
Sunshine Vayandar: Boxy must be phantom and transparent
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Agatha Macbeth: 'Waiter there's a dog in my hair'
    Sunshine Vayandar: lol!
Eliza Madrigal: :::eliza sniffs agatha's hair::::

Agatha Macbeth: Like i said to storm recently, I never get bored
Eliza Madrigal: that would be an interesting angle to come at stillness from.... 'boredom'
Sunshine Vayandar: THe School of Agayana
    Agatha Macbeth: Hmm
Agatha Macbeth: Are we having any more music sessions anytime soon?
Sunshine Vayandar: hmm Agayana ...sounds great

    Sunshine Vayandar: musical meditation?
    Sunshine Vayandar: 10pm for me
    Sunshine Vayandar: i think
Agatha Macbeth: Or just a jam maybe?
    Agatha Macbeth: Ok
Eliza Madrigal: yes :)) music none other than stillness
    Sunshine Vayandar: jam is meditation
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;p
Sunshine Vayandar: if you ask me
    Agatha Macbeth: Yeh, could be
    Sunshine Vayandar: musical quietness
Eliza Madrigal: the quote I gave earlier speaks of 'harmony'...
Eliza Madrigal: that 'intimacy with all things'
Eliza Madrigal: so not about being separate from activity or expression

Agatha Macbeth: Whenever I hear 'harmony' i always think of hairspray....
    Sunshine Vayandar: hmm ;)
    Sunshine Vayandar: lol
Eliza Madrigal: :) well, you do have geat hair
Sunshine Vayandar: no you ruined it hehe
    Eliza Madrigal: *great
    Agatha Macbeth: And geat ;P
    Eliza Madrigal: yeah, that too
Sunshine Vayandar: hairspray makes me think of John Travolta
Agatha Macbeth: I see your typing anim came back Liz
Eliza Madrigal: who is connected to kevin bacon how?
    Sunshine Vayandar: what?
    Eliza Madrigal laughs
    Sunshine Vayandar: kevin who?
Agatha Macbeth: You don't usually have it on
    Sunshine Vayandar: ah true
Sunshine Vayandar: you are all type-y

Eliza Madrigal: "6 degrees of kevin bacon" - the idea is that 'everyone' is connected to him somehow by six degees
Eliza Madrigal: yes... I upgraded viewers a few days ago
    Sunshine Vayandar: really
Agatha Macbeth: Ok, so who is Kevin Bacon pls?
    Sunshine Vayandar: ahh that's why
Eliza Madrigal: and it came back...not sure whether to keep it... doesn't seem to help pacing
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: Ohhh... guy from Footloose
Sunshine Vayandar: this reminds me of the song "7 seconds" - youssou n'dour
Agatha Macbeth: And what is footlose? ;P
Eliza Madrigal: and A Few Good Men, etc... played a lot of supporting roles
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh, a film
    Agatha Macbeth: Hm
Eliza Madrigal: not sure I know that Sun
Sunshine Vayandar: oh you must know that!
    Sunshine Vayandar: lol
    Agatha Macbeth: and fancy free?
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Sunshine Vayandar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqCpjFMvz-k
Eliza Madrigal: it was a very popular movie in the 80s... about a guy moving into an oppressed small town that wouldn't let them dance :)
    Eliza Madrigal clicks
Agatha Macbeth: Oh, sounds familiar now you mention it

Sunshine Vayandar: hmm we had no American TV in the 80s
    Eliza Madrigal: groovy
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;)
Sunshine Vayandar: so no bacon ;p
    Agatha Macbeth: Lucky you :p
    Sunshine Vayandar: hehe
Eliza Madrigal laughs.... but I have been surprised at the tv shows you have seen
Agatha Macbeth: I never watch TV any more
Agatha Macbeth: don't seem to have time
Sunshine Vayandar: me neither .....I did watch Educating Rita during the weekend
    Agatha Macbeth: Ahh, Julie walters/
Eliza Madrigal: we had a talk once at perfect paradise... and everyone there , india, australia... everyone knew Love Boat and Baywatch
    Agatha Macbeth: ?
    Agatha Macbeth: Riiiight
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Sunshine Vayandar: ah yes Love Boat
Sunshine Vayandar: hehe and baywatch ;p
Agatha Macbeth: My mother used to watch all the Aussie stuff

Eliza Madrigal: only know the one la la song
Agatha Macbeth: Lala is a Tellytubbie :p

Sunshine Vayandar: we had Baywatch in Hungary
    Sunshine Vayandar: hehe
    Eliza Madrigal: hahah
Agatha Macbeth: Was it dubbed Sun?
    Sunshine Vayandar: i think so
    Sunshine Vayandar: everything was dubbed
    Agatha Macbeth: OMG
    Sunshine Vayandar: lolll
Sunshine Vayandar: it was natural for us
Agatha Macbeth: That is sheer Kafka
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;D isn't it
    Agatha Macbeth: Baywatch in Magyar
    Sunshine Vayandar: yes ;p
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Wow
Sunshine Vayandar: well all American things were in Hungarian
    Agatha Macbeth: hard to follow

Sunshine Vayandar: I remember watching the musical "Hair"
Sunshine Vayandar: many times ...in the movie houses
