The Guardian for this meeting was Bruce Mowbray. The comments are by Bruce Mowbray.
Moon Fargis: hi bruce
Bruce Mowbray: Hello, Moon!
Bruce Mowbray: Oh MY!!!! Beautiful!
Moon Fargis: i missed that :)
Bruce Mowbray: Why not keep the flowers here all the time?
Moon Fargis: heh
Moon Fargis: im not the one who decides that
Bruce Mowbray is taking photos.
Moon Fargis: :)
--BELL--
Bruce Mowbray: So beautiful!
Bruce Mowbray: Good for the soul.
Moon Fargis: indeed
Bruce Mowbray: Any particular thought today, Moon?
Bruce Mowbray: perhaps something about sallying -- that I missed this week....
Moon Fargis: hmm well not been on a pab session since.. a few months
Moon Fargis: i missed ab it i guess
Bruce Mowbray: I've hardly been to any this week, actually.
Moon Fargis: maybe a thought to express, nature can give often more peace than thousand thoughts about it
Bruce Mowbray: Ahhh! Yes. . . and that's why my typist lives in a forest.
Bruce Mowbray: The experience of being part of it ---
Bruce Mowbray: This week I've been reading Spinoza . . . and re-discovering my own pantheism.
Moon Fargis: that's nice
Bruce Mowbray: I'm impressed by how "Buddhist" his philosophy is.
Moon Fargis: les say you reminded yourself about it
Bruce Mowbray: Well, I've thought of myself as being "pantheistic" since my youth....
Bruce Mowbray: For Spinoza, it's all "one substance" in different modes.
Bruce Mowbray: Everything for him is a mode of the One Substance . . . which he calls God.
Bruce Mowbray: Feels like Buddha Nature, to me.
Moon Fargis: oh yes it is in the human mind to express same things with different words
Moon Fargis: and theories
Bruce Mowbray: Indeed.
Bruce Mowbray: I didn't realize that he was so opposed to Descartes. . . He really rants about the illusion of separation that Descartes says exists between mind and matter.
Bruce Mowbray: For Spinoza -- no separation!
Bruce Mowbray: and that's partly why I said he feels "Buddhist."
Moon Fargis: well its not important how you see those things, connected or not, its about what theory resonates best with you, with what you can life best with
Bruce Mowbray: I agree. . . care of the soul . . .
Bruce Mowbray: I'm also getting a feel for how important it is that we do not invalidate others' experience.
Moon Fargis: it's always good to share points of view
Moon Fargis: but ppl usually decide what fits best to them
Bruce Mowbray: If it is their experience, that is enough. . .
Bruce Mowbray: I am happy if their experience helps them be happy -- whether it "agrees" with my experience or not.
Moon Fargis: that's the way it goes
Bruce Mowbray 'drops' into experiencing others' being happy. . .

Aphrodite Macbain: Wow!!
Moon Fargis: hi Aphrodite , been awhile :)
Moon Fargis: *bing* says his microwave
Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Aph!
Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Boxy!
Aphrodite Macbain: Hi Moon. It is always nice being where you are!

Alfred Kelberry: das ist moon!
Alfred Kelberry: hi :)
Aphrodite Macbain: even though I get hay fever
Alfred Kelberry: lovely garden... as usual, moon :)
Aphrodite Macbain: Hi Boxy
Moon Fargis ponders how people recognise him..and gives up on that thought without solution
Alfred Kelberry: nice of you to visit the circle, moon :)
Aphrodite Macbain: It's your little green text poking up above the flowers, Moon
Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
Moon Fargis: ahh!
Moon Fargis: how tricky
Alfred Kelberry: how is life, Moon?
Aphrodite Macbain: your bald head helps too
Moon Fargis: hmm like a wobbling wheel
Alfred Kelberry: i assume going well :)
Aphrodite Macbain: smiles
Moon Fargis: up down up down :)
Bruce Mowbray: A wobbling wheel - - - (sounds like my life!)
Aphrodite Macbain: wonders how I could make an animation of a wobbling wheel
Bruce Mowbray: That's an ancient image in Buddhism, I think . . .
Alfred Kelberry: storm can help
Bruce Mowbray makes a note to visit the Dome and see the new exhibits there.
Alfred Kelberry: what brought you here today, moon? :)
Moon Fargis: well wanted to spend some time here, but it sadly soon is out, cus in 10 minutes i have to lead my own meditation
Moon Fargis: but you're welcome to join me of course
Alfred Kelberry: ah, that's nice to start it with pab :)
Alfred Kelberry: please come more often. we miss you.
Moon Fargis: i will :)
Aphrodite Macbain: I used to attend those meditations and discussions. I seem to be running out of time these days.
Moon Fargis: but now i have to go, a tenant requests my attention
Alfred Kelberry: be well!
Moon Fargis: was nice to see you my friends
Moon Fargis: ah hi Santoshima
Moon Fargis: namaste
Moon Fargis: _/!\_
Bruce Mowbray: Good to see you, too, Moon!
Alfred Kelberry: the magic setting has faded in the background :)
Aphrodite Macbain: Bye Moon
Santoshima Resident: greetings, Moon :)
Aphrodite Macbain: aww. sad
Bruce Mowbray: Hey, San!
Santoshima Resident: aw, yes, instant garden ... hello!
Aphrodite Macbain: There seem to be new cushions again
Aphrodite Macbain: Hi San
Santoshima Resident: was nice to see all the flowers from the air:) his Aph, Bruce, boy
Alfred Kelberry: the brown ones from kori
Santoshima Resident: boy = boxy
Santoshima Resident: sorry, typo
Aphrodite Macbain: :-)
Alfred Kelberry: boy is also correct :)
Aphrodite Macbain: ah. Must have had a busy session
Santoshima Resident: hi = hi
Aphrodite Macbain: Does anyone know what the theme is next week?
Bruce Mowbray: Don't have one that I know of, Aph.
Aphrodite Macbain: I think there was something...
Aphrodite Macbain: will have to check
Bruce Mowbray: I vaguely recall that, too. . . .
Aphrodite Macbain: San- you look most mysterious
Alfred Kelberry: how's wg business going, aph/bruce?
Bruce Mowbray thinks it's her cigar.
Aphrodite Macbain can't imagine san smoking a cigar
Bruce Mowbray: Haven't had a wg meeting for a few weeks, Boxy.
Santoshima Resident: ... perhaps ... cigars are mysterious for sure
Aphrodite Macbain: I think one is due in a week or so
Santoshima Resident: does wg set the topic?
Alfred Kelberry: cigars give you time to think
Aphrodite Macbain: it's once a moth
Aphrodite Macbain: Yes but the wg responds to the issues raised by its members
Alfred Kelberry: once a moth, now a butterfly :)
Aphrodite Macbain: giggles
Alfred Kelberry: aph, i think wg responds to issues raised by pab :)
Aphrodite Macbain: I sent out a call for people to come to Venice and haven't heard from a soul
Aphrodite Macbain: yes that's what I thought I had said Boxy
Bruce Mowbray: Oh! I read your invitation, Aph, and it sounds WONDERFUL!
Alfred Kelberry: yes, seen your lovely email, aph
Santoshima Resident: if only i could, Aph ... it does sound wonderful
Aphrodite Macbain: members=PAB
Santoshima Resident: { btw, there seems to be a reclining penguin in the pool }
Aphrodite Macbain: I do hope we can get 4 people
Bruce Mowbray: The last time I was in Venice was 1966. . .
--BELL--
Alfred Kelberry: san, it's dead... presumably
Aphrodite Macbain: red and dead
Alfred Kelberry: or maybe just asleep
Santoshima Resident: dead? {shhh, we'll confer ...}
Alfred Kelberry: :)
Aphrodite Macbain: can u hear it breathing?
Santoshima Resident: yours, boxy?
Alfred Kelberry: nope
Alfred Kelberry: *turns his head away* :)
Aphrodite Macbain: I am afraid it's past lunch time and I should go into RL for a while
Alfred Kelberry: be good, aph
Santoshima Resident: bye, Aph ... be too, just came here for a smoke
Aphrodite Macbain: smiles
Aphrodite Macbain: I wont be good but I'll be happy
Bruce Mowbray: Bye, Aph.
Bruce Mowbray: Bye, San!
Santoshima Resident: so long for now ~ cheers!
Alfred Kelberry: smoke well
Bruce Mowbray: bye bye. See you again later.
Alfred Kelberry: how's life in Ohio (if I'm not mistaken), Bruce?
Bruce Mowbray: In Ohio we have a beautiful spring day!
Alfred Kelberry: ah... lovely
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, it is lovely.
Alfred Kelberry: no twisters?
Bruce Mowbray: Nope, it has been a quiet spring, actually.
Bruce Mowbray: Temps going up and down like a roller-coaster. . .
Alfred Kelberry: tornado chasers must be disappointed :)
Bruce Mowbray: Well, they can find them mostly farther west....
Alfred Kelberry: ah
Bruce Mowbray: and that's just fine with me. . . I don't miss them a bit.
Bruce Mowbray: I was raised in tornado alley, though.
Alfred Kelberry: i'd like to see one in rl
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, they are fascinating -- and very dramatic.
Alfred Kelberry: thunder clouds tend to be majestic in the Midwest
Bruce Mowbray: One came through here last year -- ripped the metal roof off a barn and wrapped it around my neighbor's tree... and it is still there!
Alfred Kelberry: ouch
Bruce Mowbray: way up in the tree.
Bruce Mowbray: Hewy, Kori!
Alfred Kelberry: kori girl :)
Korel Laloix: Heya
Alfred Kelberry: i have an odd feeling that Kori is my gf when i see her
Korel Laloix: What did I miss?
Alfred Kelberry: er, not much
Bruce Mowbray: Do you think Mr. Penguin might be able to breathe better if he floated a bit higher, Boxy?
Korel Laloix: Penguin?
Alfred Kelberry: well, his beak is above the water line
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, there is a penguin (or, I think it's a penguin) floating in front of Boxy.
Alfred Kelberry: Kori, yes. in the pond. a mysterious penguin.
Bruce Mowbray: Oh -- Well, if the beak is above water, then kk. All is well.
Alfred Kelberry: :)
Korel Laloix: Must not have rezzed for me yet.
Korel Laloix: OH OK.. see the beak now.
Alfred Kelberry: could be an underwater stream that brought him here
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, an underwater stream from Anarctica.
Bruce Mowbray: Antarctica.
Bruce Mowbray: Anarchy-ia.
Alfred Kelberry: which is on my todo list
Korel Laloix: Sounds cold... not fun.
Bruce Mowbray: Anarchy has been on my to-do list for many years.
Alfred Kelberry: kori, heh. remember the penguins from the Madagascar 2? :)
Alfred Kelberry: er, i actually meant the former - Antarctica :)
Korel Laloix: Never saw it.
Alfred Kelberry: storm :)
Korel Laloix: Heya
Storm Nordwind: Good afternoon :)
Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Storm!
Bruce Mowbray: Is the Dome full yet?
Storm Nordwind: The lower floor is full. The upper floor is empty
Storm Nordwind: Plenty of room upstairs for the joint exhibit from Korel and boxy
--BELL--
Bruce Mowbray: Well, you know I have an enormous sculpture . . . . (heh heh. . . ) that fits fine up there....!
Alfred Kelberry: yes, me and my gf
Korel Laloix: brb
Bruce Mowbray: There are 12 plinths downstairs, as I recall.
Bruce Mowbray: Bye, Kori!
Storm Nordwind: 14
Bruce Mowbray: Oh, fourteen!
Bruce Mowbray: I must drop by the Dome later to see the new ones.
Alfred Kelberry: storm, you strike me as a guy who would not mind a trip to Antarctica. am i correct?
Bruce Mowbray: Unfortunately, won't be able to attend the Art as Being Motion tomorrow.
Bruce Mowbray listens . . .
Storm Nordwind: That's a pity Bruce. We'll miss you
Bruce Mowbray: ty!
Bruce Mowbray: Quaker Meeting. . . every other week in RL, for moi.
Storm Nordwind: Maybe once upon a time it would have been fun to travel that far south, though only to the coast
Alfred Kelberry: :)
Bruce Mowbray: Would enjoy going to Patagonia, I think.
Storm Nordwind: But I have no yen to travel like that any more
Alfred Kelberry: Bruce, quite dangerous
Bruce Mowbray: I have the yen, but not the drachma, nor the stamina. . .
Bruce Mowbray: Patagonia is dangerous?
Alfred Kelberry: eh, the irony of life, bruce/storm
Storm Nordwind: If you're not a mathematician, you get confused by all the Patagons
Bruce Mowbray has been thinking about "karma" ever since reading Storm's 99-Days report.
Alfred Kelberry: Bruce, to an average westerner, i presume. all the insects that carry loads of viruses we're not accustomed to.
Bruce Mowbray: Hmmmm. . . .
Bruce Mowbray: So -- don't go to Patagonia?
Alfred Kelberry: go, but... be prepared :)
Bruce Mowbray looks for his typist's air filter mask.
Alfred Kelberry: :)
Storm Nordwind: So which report brought you to ponder karma, Bruce?
Bruce Mowbray: When Boxy mentioned insects and viruses, I thought he was talking about karma... ha ha.
Bruce Mowbray: I think I read it in the 99 Days...
Bruce Mowbray: Or was that someone else's....?
Alfred Kelberry: there seem to be always a balance - payment for the good times. if you go out for a walk in a beautiful forest, you get mosquitoes to keep you company :)
Storm Nordwind: I think maybe in one of these sessions recently?
Bruce Mowbray: Stayed up late into the night - talking about karma with someone . . .
Storm Nordwind: Ah yes
Alfred Kelberry: bruce, did not think of karma :)
Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Breezer.
Alfred Kelberry: may apply though
Storm Nordwind: I remember.
Breezer Tomsen: hello :-)
Alfred Kelberry: hi, bree
Storm Nordwind: Day 52Bruce Mowbray: Welcome back, Breezer.
Breezer Tomsen: thinks it's been a while
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, it has! Good to see you again.
Storm Nordwind: A very very strange conversation. It took me so long - presumably because i was tired - to realize the person was simply trying to defeat me in an argument, thinking he only had to do it once to succeed, whereas I had to be right every time. Very odd.
Alfred Kelberry: nice :)
Bruce Mowbray ponders Sophistry.
Alfred Kelberry: where can i read it? :)
Bruce Mowbray: 99 Days, Day 52.
Storm Nordwind: You can't read the discussion though :)
--BELL--
Bruce Mowbray: Well, it's been a quiet hour. . . but I must adieu. . . Projects to finish before daylight is gone...
Storm Nordwind: Excuse me friends, I' m just going to do some sim support... brb
Storm Nordwind: Or not) :)
Breezer Tomsen: bye Bruce
Bruce Mowbray: Thanks, and have a fine afternoon!
Alfred Kelberry: and into the void they went
Breezer Tomsen: quit evening ?
Alfred Kelberry: quit is probably the right move at this time :)
Alfred Kelberry: so long, bree
Breezer Tomsen: ok boxy bye
