The Guardian for this meeting was Bruce Mowbray. The comments are by Bruce Mowbray.

    Bruce Mowbray: Heya, Kori.
    Korel Laloix: Bozho Bruce.
Korel Laloix: Fun outfit.... what is that... not rezzing for me clearly.
Bruce Mowbray: Those are my pajamas.
    Bruce Mowbray: For dreaming in.
Bruce Mowbray: They say "DREAMS" all over them.
Korel Laloix: Oh Ok.. looks comfy.
Korel Laloix: Oh Ok...you make yourself?
    Bruce Mowbray: yeppers.
    Bruce Mowbray: Made myself.
Bruce Mowbray: especially for this month's Art as Being project.
Korel Laloix: I have not made much clothes in the last couple years.
Korel Laloix: need to redo my tats though at least.
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
Bruce Mowbray [ponders getting a tat.]
    Bruce Mowbray: or making one.
Bruce Mowbray: My typist did the "DREAMS" thingie in WORD, then did a screen save of that, then uploaded it as a texture, then applied it to shirt and jeans.
    Bruce Mowbray: Voila!
    Korel Laloix: Cool...
Bruce Mowbray: "Dreams" is a cool word - -
Korel Laloix: I just need to get back into it.. I made a lot of stuff a couple of years ago.
Bruce Mowbray: because it works both horizontally and vertically (on the diagonal, anyway)
Bruce Mowbray: I always use templates from Linden Labs...
    Bruce Mowbray: if I'm making a t-shirt.
    Korel Laloix: Oh of course.
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
Korel Laloix: I just need to get back into GIMP

    --BELL--

Bruce Mowbray: Do that in my paint program, then upload it.
Korel Laloix: I think they are on 3.0 now or so.
Bruce Mowbray: My templates are probably way outdated.
Bruce Mowbray: got them from the book,
Bruce Mowbray: "Second Life - The Official Guide."
    Bruce Mowbray: 2007
    Bruce Mowbray: Heya, Maude!
    Korel Laloix: Bozho
Korel Laloix: There are lots on line now, at least the last time I looked. Bruce Mowbray: I should check that out.
Korel Laloix: GIMP is very good and there are lots of youtube vids on how to do it.

    http://www.gimp.org/

Bruce Mowbray: My typist is trying something new today:
Bruce Mowbray: standing while he types.
Korel Laloix: That is good for you.. I do that a lot as well.
Bruce Mowbray will check out GIMP....
Korel Laloix: I am cooking again.. so standing while I SL.
DR42 Resident: Thumbs up for gimp
Korel Laloix: It is a free download.
Bruce Mowbray: Will I get tired of standing, Kori?
Korel Laloix: Once you get the feel for the layers, it is very easy to work.
Bruce Mowbray: Oh -- thanks, Maude -- I appreciate that input.
Bruce Mowbray: Hmmm. You mean --- alpha layers?
    Korel Laloix: Yes.
Korel Laloix: Just move around a bit.
Bruce Mowbray: Cool. . . I already work with that in my present template version.
    Korel Laloix: yes...
Korel Laloix: Just how GIMP works with them is not very intuitive.. but is efficient once you get the system.
Bruce Mowbray casually glances at billboard to see the topic for this week....
Bruce Mowbray: Thanks. I will definitely check that out after this session.
Bruce Mowbray: Looks to me like we're on the cusp between Daydreaming and Night-dreaming --
Bruce Mowbray: although we can talk about anything else, of course.
DR42 Resident: Inkscape is fairly good as well.

     http://inkscape.org/

Korel Laloix: I don't know that one.. will look it up.
Bruce Mowbray: "Inkscape" -- will check that one out too, thanks!
Korel Laloix: I just need to redo my tats.. that will be my first project.
Bruce Mowbray: Would either of you mind if I lowered the fountain?
Korel Laloix: And need to see if there is a way now to do different tats on each arm.
DR42 Resident: And if you need to rename, resize, watermark, convert multiple image files, then Irfanview cannot be beat.

    http://www.irfanview.com/

Korel Laloix: I have everything de-rezzed so i can't see it anyway.
    Bruce Mowbray: "Irfanview" ---
Bruce Mowbray makes note of that one, too.
Bruce Mowbray: How do you de-rez, Kori?
Korel Laloix: cntrl alt shft 9
DR42 Resident: Point at something and select "derender"
    Korel Laloix: That also works
    Bruce Mowbray: omg.
Bruce Mowbray: I just lost my hair.
Korel Laloix: I speeds things up for me with my bad connection.
DR42 Resident: This is very strange. My viewer says you are all 120 meters away, and your text appears as if you are almost out of chat range.
DR42 Resident: Bruce, you suddenly appeared.
    Bruce Mowbray: strange.
Korel Laloix: It might think you are at a corner still.
Bruce Mowbray: I got my hair back, but now it's big enough for a grown elephant.
DR42 Resident: And to me, you appear normal.
Korel Laloix: Normal does not seem to be a common occurrence here.
    Korel Laloix smiles
DR42 Resident: After this morning, I explored courseca, also found some interesting things at iTunes U.
Bruce Mowbray: For me, appearing "normal" seems pretty strange, actually.
Bruce Mowbray: What is courseca, Maude?
    Korel Laloix: Free education programs.
    Bruce Mowbray: Ohhh!
    Bruce Mowbray: Yes!
    Korel Laloix: Soom seem good.
DR42 Resident: Free intense collage level courses.
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, I was checking some of those out this week myself.
    Bruce Mowbray: https://www.coursera.org/courses
Bruce Mowbray: I think there will be a group meeting on the Epigenetics course, actually.
DR42 Resident: Sorry, I misspelled it.

    --BELL--

    Bruce Mowbray: https://www.coursera.org/course/epigenetics
Bruce Mowbray: We live in amazing times.
    Korel Laloix: Heya
    Korel Laloix: brb
    Bruce Mowbray: Heya, Zon.
    Zon Kwan: heya
Bruce Mowbray: kk, now that I know how to de-rez, how do I rez again?
Bruce Mowbray: I'd like to get my normal hair back.
Bruce Mowbray: afk someone arrived in driveway.  Be back asap
    DR42 Resident: Any topics? Dreams?
Bruce Mowbray: sry, folks. My neighbor just dropped off her laptop for me to fix (blind leading the blind, here).
    Korel Laloix: same way..
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
Korel Laloix: cnrtl alt shft 9
DR42 Resident: I tried that, and nothing happened
    Korel Laloix: wow lag
    Bruce Mowbray: yeppers.
    Korel Laloix smiles
Bruce Mowbray: But I think I now know why I lost my hair.
Bruce Mowbray: cuz I hit CTRL ALT F9
Bruce Mowbray: Also my viewer is all screwed up now.
Bruce Mowbray: I'm going to reboot.
    Bruce Mowbray: brb.
    Korel Laloix: Hurry back.

    --BELL--

    Bruce Mowbray: [better now]
Bruce Mowbray: Since we're on the cusp between daydreaming and night-dreaming, does anyone have either one of those to share?
Bruce Mowbray: [whew! Got my hair back, finally.]
Bruce Mowbray: I wonder what it means when I repeat the same dream again and again....
Bruce Mowbray: I dreamt it again last night....
Bruce Mowbray: I'm in New York....
Bruce Mowbray: and there is this skyscraper -- much taller than the Empire State building...
Bruce Mowbray: and northwest of it, somewhere...
Bruce Mowbray: (obviously not the real thing...)
Bruce Mowbray: and I go to this higher tower...
Bruce Mowbray: and it is very scary at the top of it...
Bruce Mowbray: but some "duty" makes me have to go there.
Bruce Mowbray: I keep dreaming this same dream, but can't make sense of it.
    Bruce Mowbray: very ultra-modern city....
    Bruce Mowbray: futuristic.
    Bruce Mowbray: sleek.
Bruce Mowbray seems to have put everyone to sleep.
    DR42 Resident: Attentive listening
Bruce Mowbray: Well, I can see the building... clearly in 3 dimensions,
Bruce Mowbray: but somehow I have to be very brave to go to the top... which is somehow my "duty" to do...
Bruce Mowbray: so I do it.
Bruce Mowbray: I have no idea what I'm doing up there when I get there, though.
Korel Laloix: I like to hear about other people's dreaming.. sort of home I hear something that will help me remember mine.
Bruce Mowbray: I have a lot of trouble remembering mine, Kori, unless they repeat.
    Bruce Mowbray: like this one.
DR42 Resident: When you say you have no idea what you are doing up there, is that you don't know why you went there, or you don't know what actions you are taking once up there, or something else?
Bruce Mowbray: Well, I don't understand why it is my "duty" to be up there..
Bruce Mowbray: and what I am supposed to be doing up there,
Bruce Mowbray: or even how I got up there.
Bruce Mowbray: I just seem to have "arrived" up there...
Bruce Mowbray: I do recall looking from the Empire State Building at this taller tower,
Bruce Mowbray: and somehow knowing it was my duty to go to the top of it,
    Bruce Mowbray: but not why.
    Bruce Mowbray: Bye, Zon.
Bruce Mowbray wonders if he has a "Superman Complex...."
Bruce Mowbray: rescuing someone up there?

    --BELL--

Bruce Mowbray: The building is not rectangular... it is circular.
    Bruce Mowbray: no, cylindrical.
Bruce Mowbray: like the Capitol Records Building in L.A., but several times taller.
DR42 Resident: Interesting that you express a need to go there but cannot state the goal of going there.
    Bruce Mowbray: indeed, puzzling.
Bruce Mowbray: a "duty" to go there.
Bruce Mowbray: Sort of like having a "destiny" but not knowing what it is.
    Bruce Mowbray: perhaps a "calling"?
Bruce Mowbray: If I dream that dream again, I will try to ask why I am up there.
DR42 Resident: But with those, you know the goal, yes? This is quite perplexing.
Bruce Mowbray: with destinies, you mean?
    Bruce Mowbray: callings?
Bruce Mowbray: I usually feel like my "calling" is to be a conduit through which others realize their callings.
    Korel Laloix: brb
Bruce Mowbray: somehow enabling them to fulfill themselves...
Bruce Mowbray: sort of like a bridge, stepping stone, or roadway. . . (in a good sense, though, not as a "victim," doormat, or anything like that.)
    DR42 Resident: meta Calling
    Bruce Mowbray: yes.
Bruce Mowbray: and it is not important to me that I know or agree with whatever callings might be fulfilled through me.
Bruce Mowbray: any more than a pipe cares about whether hot water or cold water flows through it.
DR42 Resident: Understood. Your desire is to help others reach their goals.
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, but in an almost totally passive way...
Bruce Mowbray: I guess I am dreaming that I might be a "freeway" that others travel.
DR42 Resident: Are YOU the building?
    Bruce Mowbray: Hmmmm.
    Bruce Mowbray: Wow....
Bruce Mowbray: Let me ponder that one.
Bruce Mowbray: That would seem to make sense...
Bruce Mowbray: I mean, I get to the top and don't know why I am there....
Bruce Mowbray: because I AM that "top."
Bruce Mowbray: Hmmmm. and also am the whole thing.,
DR42 Resident: That was what I was wondering.
    Bruce Mowbray: Very insightful, Maude.
Bruce Mowbray: I shall "work" on this ....
    Bruce Mowbray: or "with" this.
    Korel Laloix: Take care
Bruce Mowbray: just let me know.
DR42 Resident: kk, I have a VAI thing to attend
Korel Laloix: Thanks for sharing that Bruce.
    Bruce Mowbray: kk, thanks, Kori.
    Korel Laloix: Ciao
    Bruce Mowbray: yw!
    DR42 Resident: byebye
