Adams Rubble, retaining almost three months of fond memories from this Friday 07:00 slot, substituted for Quen this morning. The comments are more Rubble.
I arrived and was making sure the chat was being logged when Corvi arrived.
Adams Rubble: testing again
Adams Rubble: OK. Finally :)
Adams Rubble: How are you?
Corvuscorva Nightfire: I'm well..you?
Adams Rubble: Very good, thank you :)
Adams Rubble: A little rushed this morning :)
Corvuscorva Nightfire: rushed?
Adams Rubble: I'm multi-tasking :)
Corvuscorva Nightfire: ah
Pema joined us, making sure someone was here, and was soon follwed by Fred
Adams Rubble: Hello Pema :)
Pema Pera: Hi Adams!
Corvuscorva Nightfire: Hi, Pema.
Pema Pera: Are you taking over from Quen?
Adams Rubble: Yes,no one else volunteered
Pema Pera: I had the same thought: coming in here to make sure someone was here.
Pema Pera: Nice to meet you in SL this time, after our RL lunch yesterday!
Pema had surprised me yesterday by suggesting we have lunch and we had spent a pleasant hour or so. I had been stagnating a little, not sure what I had been seeing. The brief visit helped get me underway again
Corvuscorva Nightfire smiles.
Friedrich Ochsenhorn: hey folks
Adams Rubble: Hello Fred
Pema Pera: Hi Corvi, Fred!
Adams Rubble: Yes Pema. Sorry I keep getting called away
Adams Rubble: Did you see my note Pema?
Corvuscorva Nightfire: Hi, Fred.
Friedrich Ochsenhorn: hi covio
Adams Rubble: For the first time I see the ghost everyone has been talking about with my new viewer
Pema Pera: saw it, yes, Adams, but no time yet to read the blog
A few days ago I had a dream (http://rubblebornthoughts.wordpress.com/2008/10/04/meaningless-dream-113/) which I had found disturbing at the time. It didn't seem to be my dream at all. Over the next few days it began to become less cloudy and finally it all became clear last night. A brief explanation is in http://rubblebornthoughts.wordpress.com/2008/10/10/anchors-aweigh-119/ (#1)
Adams Rubble: I realized what my dream was saying
Adams Rubble: All of my avatars were in it :)
Adams Rubble: Bascially, it was saying get out of this limited space/time
Pema Pera: very nice, Adams, what a wonderful discovery!
Friedrich Ochsenhorn: coming straight from another ghost
Adams Rubble: yes. I still lost sleep thinking about it though. heh heh
Pema Pera: so do you feel things have opened up now further?
Adams Rubble: Yes, I feel the ship is underway again
Pema Pera: that's very nice to hear
Pema Pera: I'm glad we could talk yesterday!
Adams Rubble: Yes, you helped me see some things
Pema Pera: I found it very inspiring too
At this point Fred had to leave us
Friedrich Ochsenhorn: unfortunately, i need to get going. but i wanted to stop by this week and wihs everyone a fun time this weekend.
Pema Pera: thanks for stopping by, Fred!
Adams Rubble: Thanks Fred, that is nice of you
Pema Pera: Sorry we didn't get a chance to talk
Friedrich Ochsenhorn: hopefully, i'll be around sometime this week, on the night shift
Two days before the dream I had had a sudden feeling of spatial freedom
Pema Pera: Adams, would you like to try to describe your "space" experience to Corvi?
Corvuscorva Nightfire smiles.
Adams Rubble: Hmmm. It was hard to describe the first time and the memory is fuzzy noew but for a few seconds I could feel unlimited space. I felt free. It was exhilarating. I realized I have been living in big compartments. The space has felt closed in. Except for the dream I have felt that less since the experience
Corvuscorva Nightfire nods.
Adams Rubble: That is I have felt less closed in
Corvuscorva Nightfire: right.
Pema then picks up the space them and offers a number of observations about space
Pema Pera: I find it very difficult too, to describe such experiences. We normally see space as a container, a nothing that somehow allows material somethings to reside in -- already a very mysterious relationship!
Adams Rubble: We carry our rooms around with us
Pema Pera: But when space really opens up, as you described, you can get a sense as to how space can actually give birth to, or can constitute, all that is
Pema Pera: including a sense of rooms and walls and compartmentalization
Pema Pera: all the walls are still space!!
Adams Rubble: interesting
Is/Are Space...
Pema Pera: all objects are space
Pema Pera: all thoughts are space
Pema Pera: all experiences of thoughts about objects are space
Adams Rubble remembers the space between thoughts in the thought exercise
Pema Pera: appearance is space
Pema Pera: appreciation is space
Pema Pera: yes
Adams Rubble: Is this grand space then freedom from all of that?
Pema Pera: we can look at the world with object-oriented eyes -- but we can change clothes so to speak and look at the world with space eyes
Adams Rubble: from all of what, she thinks
Pema Pera: this grand space is "producing" (the appearance of) all that simply by allowing the appearances to arise
Pema Pera: allowing = producing in a never-created fashion, very thin, very ethereal, appearances only -- more precisely, only the presence of appearance, nothing more!
Adams Rubble: Ah, we are living in the grand space but within our compartments, of course
Pema Pera: the compartments are equally grand space
Pema Pera: nothing can compartmentalize space
Pema Pera: only we can be tricked temporarily into believing in, buying into compartments -- a cosmic joke really
Pema Pera: space just smiles at us playing house, playing compartments
Adams Rubble: :)
And once again the parallels between Second Life and our Real Life experiences....
Pema Pera: like playing in SL
Pema Pera: playing as if all this around us, including our avatars is real
Adams Rubble understands playing in SL
Pema Pera: and it is, relatively speaking
Pema Pera: but unsubstantial, free, therefore in some sense more real than RL!
Pema Pera: more pure
Pema Pera: more direct in some ways
Adams Rubble thinks back to the dream...where does Adams stop and *** start
Pema Pera: more the essence of appearance, of what is
Pema Pera: from grand space, Adams and *** are indistinguishable
Pema Pera: waves in the same ocean
Adams Rubble: yes, a lesson from the dream
Pema Pera: pleasantly present
Pema Pera: and nothing beyond that
Pema Pera: just present
Pema Pera: but when you ask what is present?
Adams Rubble: parallel forces
Pema Pera: the answer is:
Pema Pera: nothing further
Pema Pera: just these avatars, just this world, just these forms and colors
Pema Pera: nothing substantial
Pema Pera: (and physics, interestingly, says the same about RL matter!)
Adams Rubble: :)
Pema Pera: btw, my batteries are getting low, I better get going before I run out
Pema Pera: great meeting you by way of Quen :-)
Pema Pera: Thanks for holding the fort, Adams!
Adams Rubble: Yes, thanks :)
Pema Pera: Good seeing you too again, Corvi
Pema Pera: tc
Adams Rubble: bye Pema :)
Corvuscorva Nightfire: good to see you, too..have a good day.
Pema then left and Corvi and I discuss PaB, tags, groups and compare experiences
Adams Rubble: Well...
Corvuscorva Nightfire smiles.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: well.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: Faenik loves wells.
Adams Rubble: Sorry that we just continued our conversation from yesterday. haha Corvi
Corvuscorva Nightfire grins. I'm not.
Adams Rubble: I've been a bit stagnant for a few days and it is good to get out of that
Corvuscorva Nightfire: yes.
Adams Rubble: I haven't seen the logs for a few days except for yesterday morning that Pema pointed us to
Adams Rubble: Anything else going on?
Corvuscorva Nightfire: I haven't either, actually.
Adams Rubble: ah
Corvuscorva Nightfire: I am not sure....
Adams Rubble: I've been looking at old logs instead :)
Corvuscorva Nightfire smiles..it's good to go back sometimes.
Adams Rubble: yes, it is
Adams Rubble: These sleepless nights can be pretty taxing though. i will be glad when I am back on schedule
Corvuscorva Nightfire: yes
Adams Rubble: Were you asking about my tag earlier
Corvuscorva Nightfire: yes.
Adams Rubble: Abigail goes with Adams. She was the wife of John Adams, a very inspiring figure
Adams Rubble: Abigail that is :)
Corvuscorva Nightfire smiles.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: got it.
Adams Rubble: Otherwise it would say John :)
Adams Rubble: hehe
Corvuscorva Nightfire snorts.
Adams Rubble: Is there anything you would like to talk about?
Corvuscorva Nightfire: I can't think of anything off hand.
Adams Rubble: I tend to get pretty focused on one thing at a time
Corvuscorva Nightfire smiles...it's perfect.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: I tend to be scattered.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: til I pounce on idea.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: and gnaw on it til it is bones.
Adams Rubble: Hmm. I can relate to that. I'm in a pounced stage :)
Corvuscorva Nightfire nods.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: I am...scattered.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: though I can feel a pounce getting ready to happen.
Adams Rubble: My dream was kind fo scattered. I haven't dealt with it all. Just what I think is most important. I kind of think it si bringing lots of things together
Adams Rubble: That is a great feeling to have :)
Corvuscorva Nightfire: mmm..yes.
Stargate Tone is Offline
Adams Rubble: looking at your profile :) What is the Second Lifer?
Corvuscorva Nightfire snorts..nothing, yet, maybe "anymore"
Corvuscorva Nightfire: an idea I had when I was bored.
Adams Rubble: Ah
Corvuscorva Nightfire: that second life needed a "New Yorker"
Adams Rubble: :)
Corvuscorva Nightfire: but then...I got busier and busier.
Adams Rubble: busier happens :)
Adams Rubble: Sort of related to that, have you ever heard Doug talk about "I am too busy?"
Adams Rubble not suggesting that applies here :)
Corvuscorva Nightfire: no..I hadn't heard that.
Adams Rubble thinking our identification numbers are kind of long for a group with 32 members
Adams Rubble: hehe
Corvuscorva Nightfire laughs.
Adams Rubble: Doug, says that saying "I am busy" is often used as an excuse but also that it is self-defeating
Adams Rubble: If we say "I have time" we look at things differently
Adams Rubble: I do that now when I am facing an enormous task that seemsinsurmountable (Well, sometimes I do )
Adams Rubble: maybe once in a while I do
Adams Rubble: hehe
Adams Rubble: It sort of creates energy if I think that was though
Adams Rubble: that way though
Corvuscorva Nightfire nods.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: that makes sens.e.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: hmm.
Adams Rubble: Well, I better be getting back to all the things I have time to do :)
Corvuscorva Nightfire laughs..have fun.
Adams Rubble: I hope you have a great rest of the day :)
Corvuscorva Nightfire: and I hope the same for you.
Adams Rubble: bye for now
Corvuscorva Nightfire: bye.
