Adams Dubrovna: Good Morning Cal :)
Caledonia Heron: hey there Adams :)
Caledonia Heron: how are you today?
Adams Dubrovna: I am pretty good. How about you?
Caledonia Heron: good :) I was really involved in what I was just doing - I'm glad I looked at the clock
Adams Dubrovna: Haha. Me too :)
Adams Dubrovna: I haven't seen you in quite a while
Adams Dubrovna: Last time on the other world
Caledonia Heron: a little bit yes :)
Caledonia Heron: I guess that's right, seems so long ago :)
Adams Dubrovna: Yes, you were looking down the skylight
Caledonia Heron: lol, a little fun :)
    Adams Dubrovna: :)
Caledonia Heron: it's all so _profound_, sometimes a little fun is good :)
    Adams Dubrovna: Yes
    Adams Dubrovna: Hello Pema :)
Caledonia Heron: hey there Pema :)
Pema Pera: Hi there, Cal and Adams!
Caledonia Heron: how are you today?
Pema Pera: fine, busy, but what else is new? :)
    Adams Dubrovna: :)

Pema Pera: Fun, to think that only ten days ago we were all three here in Princeton in RL !
Adams Dubrovna: We were just recalling :)
Caledonia Heron: I was mentioning to Adams it seems so long ago :)
    Pema Pera: doesn't it!
Pema Pera: Especially in SL, time seems to speed up so much . . . . and yet, these texting sessions seem slower than in RL, more relaxed . . . .
Adams Dubrovna: yes, much more relaxed
Pema Pera: in SL networking seems futuristic and text-chatting seems happily oldfashioned
Caledonia Heron: yes, so many signals to parse in rl, it seems easier to make apoint here for some reason
Adams Dubrovna: We'll have to keep working on the talk thing
Caledonia Heron: yes, maybe it takes longer to find a comfort zone in the physical world
Adams Dubrovna: We've been at it for a while here
Caledonia Heron: yes, plus people who might be more shy to talk in rl perhaps feel more free to share here :)
Pema Pera: or more thoughtful :-)
    Adams Dubrovna: or slower :)
Caledonia Heron: yes, d.) all of the above :)
    Adams Dubrovna: :)
    Pema Pera: brb (phone)

Caledonia Heron: you are rigorous about your blog Admas, tell me of your 9sec of late :)
    Adams Dubrovna: sorry interruption
    Caledonia Heron: s'ok :)
Adams Dubrovna: I have been through a slightly rough period and my nine-seconds have been kind of empty although a good pause in my work
Adams Dubrovna: I have had a couple of minor shocks which made me wonder who I am
    Caledonia Heron: really?
Adams Dubrovna: I realized this morning that as I began this project I started to connect with my pre-PaB, pre-SL self
Adams Dubrovna: Actually I turned into my former self in a way
Adams Dubrovna: I didn;t realize it; I just realized things weren't fitting right
    Adams Dubrovna: I was confused
Adams Dubrovna: Why was this person emerging?
Adams Dubrovna: It is great that we have learned to recognize such things happening now. before I would have been at a total loss
    Pema Pera: b, sorry
Adams Dubrovna: But I have been withdrawing into myself and confused about PaB and why it was using some of my time
    Caledonia Heron: :)
    Pema Pera: :)
Adams Dubrovna: I ralized that was because it wasn't in the view of this other self
Adams Dubrovna: Funny that some other people seem to be more comfortable with this old self returning
    Pema Pera: some other people?
Adams Dubrovna: people very close to me in RL
    Pema Pera: ah!
Pema Pera: For me, the whole SL experience has been an experiment in shifting
Pema Pera: consciously shifting, rather than aimlessly drifting
Pema Pera: like exercising a new kind of muscle
Adams Dubrovna: Yes, for me too and I think that helped me see this unconscious shift
    Adams Dubrovna: finally :)
    Pema Pera: congratulations!
    Adams Dubrovna: thanks

Adams Dubrovna: I am rather enjoying this experience this morning
    Caledonia Heron: I'm glad :)
    Pema Pera: me too
Caledonia Heron: When I met you I thought you seemed a very kind person and should there be an opportunity I would like to speak with you more personally in rl, - like with Maxine and the group since for the most part I felt awkward jumping in to such personal matters
Adams Dubrovna: Yes, me too :)
Adams Dubrovna: We unconsciously fell into rl small talk for a while
    Adams Dubrovna: Hello Wol :)
    Pema Pera: hi Wol!
Wol Euler: hello adams, pema, cal
    Caledonia Heron: hi Wol :)
Wol Euler: sorry I'm late, I was distracted.
Caledonia Heron: :) I made it in the nick of time - I was so immersed in what I was doing :)
Pema Pera: And I'll have to bolt in a couple minutes, RL meeting . . . .
    Caledonia Heron: sure :)

Pema Pera: Wol, we were just talking about the RL meeting in Princeton
    Wol Euler: mmm?
Pema Pera: I'm wondering how it would be to have a meeting with some of us, somewhere else than this pavilion, for example in the Kira Cafe, using voice -- as something in between meeting in RL and meeting here in SL using text
Pema Pera: might be an interesting and yet different experiment
Pema Pera: but probably not everybody would be comfortable with that
Pema Pera: we'll have to see
Pema Pera: I certainly think that text is best, here
    Pema Pera: for many reasons
Wol Euler: I can't do voice. First because I have mo microphone, but mainly because I simply cannot follow the conversation. Sound quality is so miserably poor for me.
Adams Dubrovna has no microphone either
Wol Euler: like listening to taxi drivers' radio convesrations...
    Adams Dubrovna: :)
Caledonia Heron: we can certainly float the idea and gather interest levels, there are a lot of good reasons, technical and personal, to stick with text but I see your point about it being an intermediary state
Adams Dubrovna: Where ya wanna go bub?
Wol Euler: schwrzrzrzrzr fffft brosans frererrer
Pema Pera: in New York, I have had very interesting conversations with taxi drivers; generally well educated people from India or Pakistan ;-)
    Caledonia Heron: take the parkway....
    Pema Pera: hehehe
    Adams Dubrovna: :)
Wol Euler: oh sure, the drivers themselves. I meant eavesdropping on what comes out of their radios.
Pema Pera: yes, I got it now :-)
Pema Pera: Hey, Joe, switch on you radio!!!!
    Pema Pera: (my favorite example)
    Wol Euler: heheheheeh
Pema Pera: (said to Joe who of course can't hear)

Adams Dubrovna: Joe the tAXIDRIVER... HASN'T GOTTEN ALOT OF ATTENTION IN THIS ELECTION
    Wol Euler: lovely
    Pema Pera: hahaha
Adams Dubrovna: Whoops sorry about the Caps
    Pema Pera: he can't vote
    Pema Pera: illegal alien
    Pema Pera: of no consequence
Caledonia Heron: how many plumbers make over 250K anyway?
    Adams Dubrovna: :)
Wol Euler: but we all know that the world ecomony would stop overnight without them.
    Caledonia Heron: ridiculous
Caledonia Heron: my household economy would stop if I needed a plumber and couldn't get one :)
Wol Euler: true; and the day off work slows down your company, which slows down its customers ...
Caledonia Heron: so many negative issues floating around right now .. wonder how that affects personal being, the group gestalt of being, etc
Wol Euler: you're right, cal :)
    Pema Pera: very much so
Wol Euler stops and takes a few deep breaths.
Caledonia Heron: yes, good idea Wol :)
    Caledonia Heron: more oxygen :)
Wol Euler: negativity is so damned seductive, though :)
Caledonia Heron: it's often framed that way for sure
Wol Euler: I have that with a woman at work, it is _so_ difficult not to reply on her level.
Pema Pera: so we have a nice challenge to seduce even more, with our positivity :-)
    Adams Dubrovna: :)
    Wol Euler smiles
Pema Pera: sorry, have to leave now, RL meeting. See you all soon again!
    Caledonia Heron: bye Pema :)
Adams Dubrovna: bye pema. have a good meeting :)
Wol Euler: bye pema, bis heute abend!
    Pema Pera: ja, mach's gut!
    Pema Pera: bfn

Caledonia Heron: I was taken by what you said earlier Adams, about a rough spot ... I'm having kind of a sand papery time of it lately myself
Adams Dubrovna: They aren't much fun
Adams Dubrovna: Do you care to talk about it at all?
Caledonia Heron: I'm not sure I can put my finger on it .... working with people effectively, constant negative data on the state of the country, changing season with less light, colder shorter days ... some kind of confluence ... ack!
Caledonia Heron: feel like a goat butting heads :)
Adams Dubrovna: The light can have a big affect on our outlook
Adams Dubrovna: And the economy has tanked
    Wol Euler nods sympathetically
Caledonia Heron: don't even look at your portfolio right now :)
Wol Euler: well, as long as you don't _have_ to sell, just hold. It will rise again.
Caledonia Heron: sure, take the long term view .... not really worried about that for me but people older than me who rely on it are hurting
    Caledonia Heron: just a factor
    Wol Euler: true
    Adams Dubrovna: yes Cal
Caledonia Heron: not communicating particularly well with people... and everytime there's a repeated factor .... I'm involved ... hmmm, wonder if that means something? :) ha ha
    Wol Euler: heheheheh
Adams Dubrovna: Communication is one of the places I was breaking down
Adams Dubrovna: I was withdrawing into myself as a consequence
Caledonia Heron: I sensed that from your comments and was drawing a parallel
Adams Dubrovna hope it helps a little
Caledonia Heron: yes, of course, thank you ... it reduces a sort of isolation
Adams Dubrovna: The isolation is one of the more frightening aspects
Adams Dubrovna: We need to love and be loved
Caledonia Heron: I can see that, it's very true for someone I know well ... for me I tend to be more of a loner on things but recognize that isolation in and of itself is not optimal
Caledonia Heron: so I very much appreciate your fellowship :)
    Wol Euler smiles
Adams Dubrovna: I have tended to be more a loner too but I am realizing I am happiest when I feel love flowing both ways
Caledonia Heron: :) that rings true
Adams Dubrovna is a bit surprised by what is coming out of his keyboard :)
Wol Euler: yeah, me too. It took me a long while to figure that out, and I am struggling to put it to work.

Caledonia Heron: the what you know and the how to integrate it sometimes bump up against each other
    Caledonia Heron: for me anyway
Adams Dubrovna: yes, that's for sure
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
Adams Dubrovna: we just keep trying :)
Caledonia Heron: yes, many chances, many opportunities to recreate self and renew
Caledonia Heron: this is an example of a nice reset.... thanks :)
Adams Dubrovna: That's the neat part; we can just sort of start all over
Adams Dubrovna: Or mix and match :)
    Adams Dubrovna: like our clothes
    Wol Euler: :)
Caledonia Heron: lol, starting now! or now, or how about now?
    Adams Dubrovna: :)
Caledonia Heron: I'm such a goober
    Adams Dubrovna: :)
Wol Euler laughs and thwaps you with a cushion.
    Caledonia Heron: lol
Caledonia Heron: you guys crack me up
Adams Dubrovna makes note that Wol is a good thwapper
    Wol Euler: it's mutual.
    Adams Dubrovna: yes
Caledonia Heron: Grand Thwapper, Wol Euler
Wol Euler: I am quite envious of the Princeton meetup btw.
Adams Dubrovna: Yes, I hope the European session comes off Wol
Wol Euler: it would be fun.
Caledonia Heron: oh, a Euro meetup?
Adams Dubrovna: But it was also a bit of a shock for some of us too
Wol Euler: apparently I am to organize it O.O
    Adams Dubrovna: Haha Wol
Caledonia Heron: yeah, it was kind of a mixed bag
    Caledonia Heron: :) hehe Wol
Wol Euler raises an eyebrow enquiringly.
Adams Dubrovna: It did raise the questions of "Who are we?" Wol
    Wol Euler: ah, yes.
Adams Dubrovna: But that is on a superficial level
    Caledonia Heron: yes
    Adams Dubrovna: Our selves
Adams Dubrovna: Unfortunately I have to run
    Caledonia Heron: me too ....
Wol Euler: mm, me too. work calls.
Caledonia Heron: nice to see you guys :)
Adams Dubrovna: It was good talking to ya'all
Wol Euler: nice to have been here.
Adams Dubrovna: Have a good day Cal and a good night Wol :)
Wol Euler: take care, have a good wednesday.
    Adams Dubrovna: bye :)
Caledonia Heron: yes, talk to you soon -
