Adelene flies about the room to show off the great winged cat av.  Lands and moves onto Pema's lap.  Within seconds is purring in contentment.  This is a big cat with a loud purr.

Riddle Sideways: it throws me right into one of those 9-sec events

The normal ending of a song is an edge moment.  Reflection on how much that song gave to us.  Anticipation of the next song to start.  A normal time to take a deep breath, settle and await the transition.
Now add to the experience the sound of a gong.  A sound that for many months has keyed the moment when for a few seconds I should slice out of current state, experience/play/watch Being, jot down a comment and then reinstate the current stack.

Adelene Dawner: I was actually thinking about that ,a while ago - purring, particularly - cats don't just purr when they're happy, yanno. That's just the situation when most people are close enough to hear it.
Riddle Sideways: my cats can BeCome the wood deck while waiting to catch a bird
Adelene Dawner: I think it more accurately means 'I'm *present*'

Pema Pera: I'm trying to come in more regularly . . . have been very busy these last two months, starting up Kira, but now that is running quite well -- yesterday we had two events with ten to twenty avs each, and this morning we just had one with more than a dozen again

Pema Pera: I just gave a talk in the Kira Cafe, for the Japanese evening session
Adelene Dawner: Wow, Pem. I'll have to start coming by more often. ^.^

Pema Pera: yesterday we had "ask an astronomer" first, then "happy hour"
Pema Pera: the HH is everyday at 2 pm SLT

Pema Pera: Riddle, if I may ask, how is the 9-sec changing over time; is it different now from say a few months ago?
Riddle Sideways: yes,

Riddle Sideways: over the months it has sort of settled down
Riddle Sideways: my early notes have it all over the board in subject matter
Riddle Sideways: now it is very regular and can be targeted
Riddle Sideways: there are subjects like APAPB that can be repeated for a week (almost)
Pema Pera: can you say a bit more about APAPB?
Riddle Sideways: probably should have started/maintained a blog
Pema Pera: blogs help, yes, compared to making scattered notes -- I keep an electronic kind of journal for this
Riddle Sideways: the introduction and investigation of APAPB threw me at first
Riddle Sideways: each word held such depth
Riddle Sideways: yet had trouble relating to its neighbor
Pema Pera: :-), yes I know the feeling -- took me quite a while too!
Riddle Sideways: there was a point when I stopped trying to get ONE resolution
Pema Pera: and for me, the words are still becoming friends more intimately, the words and what they stand for
Riddle Sideways: and PLAYED with how many combinations
Pema Pera: yes, that's a great way to let APAPB express itself
Riddle Sideways: to seed that the next 15min gong I would see something of APAPB
Riddle Sideways: a gong would go off
Riddle Sideways: and one of the words in a new way would throw itself at me
Riddle Sideways: to be attached by a word or the edge effect of 2 words

Adelene Dawner: It's a miniature piece of art, the size of a baseball card - other than that, it can be anything ^.^

Adelene Dawner: Mostly they're collages, drawings, or paintings, but some are more interesting things like sewn cloth, ceramic, leather... all kinds of stuff.

Adelene Dawner: I came up with the idea of hanging cloth pannels and attaching playing-card sleves to them, for ACEOs and my collection of bus passes.
