     Sylectra Darwin: Hey Adelene!
    Bell: *ding*

I had brought my scripted yellow labrador, Sophy, to the PaB meeting.

    Sylectra Darwin: sophy come

    Sylectra Darwin: sophy come

    Sophy whispers:      Greeting Play .
Sylectra Darwin: good to see you guys!
    Adelene Dawner: ^.^
    Sylectra Darwin: sophy settle
Sylectra Darwin: this is my doggie Sophy
    Adelene Dawner: Cute ^.^
Threedee Shepherd: Hi Syl, did you finally decide to keep your dog in SL, so you could rent a place to live :)
Adelene Dawner needs to afk for a minute.
    Sophy whispers:      Greeting Principia .
Sylectra Darwin: keep my what in SL?
    Sylectra Darwin: sophy down
    Sylectra Darwin: dog! Ohhh
    Sylectra Darwin: hehe
    Sophy whispers:      Greeting Crow .
Sylectra Darwin: Yeah, it's cheaper to live virtually
Sylectra Darwin: there's no controlling that dog.
    Sophy whispers:      Greeting Windchime .
Threedee Shepherd: How's RL housing going?
Sylectra Darwin: what's this pretty object on the table?
Sylectra Darwin: Oh, very well, thank you!
    Sophy whispers:      Greeting Threedee .
Sylectra Darwin: The day after that terrible disappointment, I got back on the Internet, signed up for Roommates.com, em-mailed people on Craig's list, and got a roommate by 2 p.m. that day.
    Adelene Dawner: Wow.
Threedee Shepherd: But, did the roomate have a room?
Sylectra Darwin: I was pretty anxious.
    doug Sosa: quiety hi.
    Sophy whispers:      Greeting FX1-Black .
    Sylectra Darwin: Sure!
Sylectra Darwin: I called her, and she is a nice student in North Brunswick, not far from Princeton.
    Sophy whispers:      Greeting doug .
Sylectra Darwin: Today, I got a call from a recruiter about interviewing for a web content job.
Sylectra Darwin: Not that I think this one will work out - it's in Pittsburgh.
    Threedee Shepherd: great!
Sylectra Darwin: But it's very hopeful! :)
    Sophy whispers:      Greeting doug .
Sylectra Darwin: I haven't been sleeping late, with that much uncertainty facing me :)
Sylectra Darwin: It's good for me though
    Adelene Dawner: Awesome, Syl.
Threedee Shepherd: Yeah, even my geography knows the issues with that if you can't telecommute
    Sophy whispers:      Greeting Threedee .
    Sylectra Darwin: Hi Doug!
    Sophy whispers:      Greeting PaB .
    doug Sosa: sophy?
Sylectra Darwin: Ade, I love your wing/lion combo
    Adelene Dawner: ^.^ thanks
Sylectra Darwin: so what have you guys been up to this week?
    Sophy: .
    Sophy whispers:      Greeting Adelene .
Threedee Shepherd: Too much, not enough and life is good.
    Adelene Dawner nods.
Sylectra Darwin: life is good - that's what I like to hear!
Adelene Dawner has picked up a new craft :)
    Sophy whispers:      Greeting Sylectra .
doug Sosa: ade helped me look less dead. otherwise, work and garden.
Sylectra Darwin: what did you learn to do?
    Sylectra Darwin: grins
    Sophy whispers:      Greeting Adelene .
Sylectra Darwin: you look very nice :)
Sylectra Darwin: I always thought you preferred the chiseled ivory look.
Adelene Dawner: Not sure if it counts as 'learn to do', but I've started making ACEOs. - little baseball-card sized pieces of artwork.
Sylectra Darwin: with what media? paint?
Adelene Dawner: Collage, with a side of computer-printout, for now.
    Sylectra Darwin: hehe
    Sylectra Darwin: why not?
Adelene Dawner: They're fun. Especially with my manic muse. I did, no kidding, 24 of them the first day.
    Sylectra Darwin: haha!
    Sylectra Darwin: excellent!
Adelene Dawner: Only two yesterday, but she woke me up at 1:30 am for the second one. ;P
Sylectra Darwin: thats such a creative time of day
    Adelene Dawner: mmhmm ^.^
doug Sosa: there is an intenet site, an artist committed to oneoil painting a day.they are very good. www.shiftinglight.com
    Sylectra Darwin: thats neat
    Adelene Dawner: Interesting.
    Bell: *ding*
Sylectra Darwin: there's an artist in sl named eshi who built a project per day in one hour.
    Sophy whispers:      Greeting Flying .
    Sylectra Darwin: called one-hour builds
Sylectra Darwin: she destroys them every day and starts over.
    doug Sosa: like sand castles.
Threedee Shepherd: sounds like sand paintings and sand mandalas
    Adelene Dawner: neat ^.^
Adelene Dawner: I do something a bit like that with certain kinds of art that I do.
Adelene Dawner: My doodles, especially - a specific kind of art, that, that I don't have a more specific name for - I do them, I never keep them unless they happen to appear on a piece of paper I need for something else, I don't keep any record of them, photos or anything.
Adelene Dawner: I very rarely have trouble finding someone to take the finished ones, either, even though they're pretty simple things.
doug Sosa: two cats, a dog and a blond. What am i gonna say?
Adelene Dawner: The one exception to the not-keeping-record is the few electronic doodles I've made, and I feel a bit conflicted about those.
Threedee Shepherd: Say something profound ;)
    doug Sosa: bow meo.
    Sophy whispers:      Noticed Threede
Threedee Shepherd: bow meo = we boom
    Threedee Shepherd: also web moo
Sylectra Darwin: I am just coasting now after all the heavy lifting.
Threedee Shepherd: Ok, a topic. What is it like when you are overwhelmed with immediate choices among a dozen things that need to get done?
Adelene Dawner: Good to hear about, though, Syl. I may be going through something similar soon and it's good to hear how easy it can be.
    Adelene Dawner: (Or fast, anyway)
    Sophy whispers:      Noticed Threedee
    Adelene Dawner: Re topic: hm.
    Sophy whispers:      Noticed Windchime
Adelene Dawner: I have 'rules' for those situations, to stop them from being overwhelming... 'do the first thing that comes to mind' is one, though that may be less than useful for people with faster-running brains. ^.^
    doug Sosa: woof!
Sylectra Darwin: that's a good topic considering my state of mind! lol
Sylectra Darwin: I find that I walk into another room to get something and start doing something there. That is tiring me out.
Adelene Dawner: The question was 'what is it like', though... not sure I can answer that.
Sylectra Darwin: For me, my internal report card is telling me that I am missing the window...
    Threedee Shepherd: ???
    Sophy whispers:      Noticed Play
Sylectra Darwin: while I continue to flit from thing to thing, wasting my energies.
    Threedee Shepherd: ahh
Sylectra Darwin: Like, I was trying (not well) to put my shoes in a bag for transport.
Sylectra Darwin: Every time I went to the kitchen to get the trash bags, I saw something in there that needed to be put in that box or this one
    Bell: *ding*
Adelene Dawner: That sounds extremely familiar, Syl.
Sylectra Darwin: So the "noise" from not getting the first thing done was creating a headache
    Sophy: .
    Sylectra Darwin: grins
Adelene Dawner: Except the headache part.
Sylectra Darwin: some times when I get like that, I stop and take some breaths and say to myself, "just finish something, in this moment"
Sylectra Darwin: that might have been from forgetting to eat.
Adelene Dawner: I tend to just forget the first thing if I do the second... which doesn't necessarily mean I won't do the second. And yes, I've been known to forget to eat, that way.
Threedee Shepherd: Earlier today, I got to the point where my brain was yelling, "where the hell are the maid, the butler and the secretary?"
    Adelene Dawner laughs. "Yup."
    Sylectra Darwin: ThreeDee, how funny!
Sylectra Darwin: I've had a song stuck in my head and it's playing the same chorus again and again for days. It's "Fledgling" by Blues Traveler.
Adelene Dawner: As someone who 'lives there'... well, it's not much better when you're used to it, in a functional sense, but really most of the time, if you've kept your workload sane (or, maybe more accurately, kept your workload flexible enough to handle it) it does work just to catch as catch can.
Sylectra Darwin: This also is what happens when I have trouble focusing.
Sylectra Darwin: Catch as catch can works great if you have enough time to handle tasks organically.
Threedee Shepherd: don't know that song, or group
Sylectra Darwin: did you know I had my last day at work on the 28th and hadn't put a single thing in a box by the end of that day?
Sylectra Darwin: I had three days to get it all in the truck - it's looking better now but I had hoped to be mostly done by now.
Sylectra Darwin: The song is so beautiful...if I may share some of the lyrics...bear with me as it applies to my journey so closely...
    Adelene Dawner: http://www.mp3lyrics.org/b/blues-traveler/fledgling/
Threedee Shepherd: just found the lyrics
Sylectra Darwin: here it is: The sky
    Is beckoning your coming
    Your feathered nest
    Has grown too small
    The wind
    Is here to greet you
Spread your wings and simply fall
Spread your wings and simply fall
    Spread your wings
    Spread your wings and simply...
    Fall
    Into the rushing air
    And struggle
    And fight to rise above
    And then surrender
    To your freedoms
For these are the pains of love
    Sophy whispers:      Greeting Corvuscorva .
    Adelene Dawner: Corvi! Steve! ^.^
Sylectra Darwin: greetings, Steven and Corvi.
    stevenaia Michinaga: hello
Sylectra Darwin: Good to see you
Adelene Dawner: Yes, very very pretty song.
Adelene Dawner: It will be ACEO'd. ^.^
    Corvuscorva Nightfire smiles..Hello
Sylectra Darwin: I was just sharing some lyrics for a song stuck in my head, "Fledgling" by Blues Traveler.
    Sylectra Darwin: It's heartbreakingly lovely.
Threedee Shepherd: I find it deeply ironic that on the web page that has these lyrics, I am seeing an advertisement for bird control products to keep birds from landing on ledges :>
Sylectra Darwin: And it's so much about my journey these days :)
    Sylectra Darwin: oh no!
Adelene Dawner: I'm surprised it's not on youtube. Are you sure it's by blues traveler?
    Corvuscorva Nightfire smiles..lovely!
Sylectra Darwin: Those darn lyrics sites. We need a more pleasant alternative.
    Sylectra Darwin: john Popper.
    Sylectra Darwin: yep.
Threedee Shepherd: says Blues travelers above the lyrics
Sylectra Darwin: perhaps he covered someone else.
Sylectra Darwin: well actually the site says John Popper wrote the lyrics so I would say they did it first.
Sylectra Darwin: I had such a beautiful going away party at work - the sincerity of the moment really surprised me.
Sylectra Darwin: My own director - who I have not always got along with - gave such a great talk about me.
Sylectra Darwin: I was just blown away by the kind words.
    Threedee Shepherd: neat
    Adelene Dawner: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gAqqW5aDrE
Sylectra Darwin: One thing they said was that above all else they would miss my smile and my kindness - this surprised me so much as I did n't know that I was moving in that direction at all. I knew I was trying to, but not that I had succeeded in showing it at work! lol
    Corvuscorva Nightfire smiles.
    Sophy whispers:      Greeting zabuton_relax .
Sylectra Darwin: then last night I went to a techno concert with my friends Will and Ceci, and it was a hug and smile fest.
stevenaia Michinaga: you can't hide you nature
Sylectra Darwin: Ade, thanks for finding the YouTube link
Threedee Shepherd: It would be nice if folks said such things regularly, not jst as we are leaving ^.^
    Adelene Dawner: Agreed.
    Bell: *ding*
    Sylectra Darwin: yes, Three
Sylectra Darwin: Steven, I hadn't realized it *was* my nature. I think it wasn't, until I chose to cultivate it only recently. (thanks Mom)
Sylectra Darwin: I am telling everyone the Mom story, haha
Sylectra Darwin: sorry if you got to hear it twice. :)
Corvuscorva Nightfire: I haven't heard it at all.
stevenaia Michinaga: what;s that purple box? the new recorder?
    Threedee Shepherd: ART
    stevenaia Michinaga: ok
Sylectra Darwin: what is that cool three-story thing Storm made?
Sylectra Darwin: He leaves these little gifts for us, how fun.
Adelene Dawner: It's a model of the new pavilion.
    Sophy whispers:      Noticed zabuton_relax
    Sylectra Darwin: Lovely!
    Adelene Dawner: Yup ^.^
Sylectra Darwin: Such a brilliant person.
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, can;t wait to see the real thing
    Sylectra Darwin: Me too!
Adelene Dawner: Why wait? It's been built for a few months now. ^.^
Corvuscorva Nightfire grins and gets a landmark
Sylectra Darwin: where is it? I'd like to see
Corvuscorva Nightfire: grab the landmark by touching the pagoda
Threedee Shepherd: I'll try again. Does multitasking mask Being?
Sylectra Darwin: I knew the spot had been picked out but that we'd been waiting I think for the autologger?
    Sylectra Darwin: thanks Corvi
Three storey white pagoda - miniature - LM giver owned by Storm Nordwind gave you 'Play as Being Pavilion, Bieup (64, 24, 104)'  http://slurl.com/secondlife/Rieul/178/147/74 .
Sylectra Darwin: It's a rule in SL - always click the stuff. :)
Corvuscorva Nightfire: yes, 3D, I think it does.
    Corvuscorva Nightfire smiles at Sylectra
Corvuscorva Nightfire: adelene..is that something you did? the purple box?
Corvuscorva Nightfire laughs a t the puppy
Corvuscorva Nightfire: and trys to push him off
Sylectra Darwin: hehe, sophy is on the table!
Corvuscorva Nightfire: he's as hard to shift as you, Adelene
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: He's on me!
    Sophy whispers:      Noticed Windchime
Sylectra Darwin: oh my , sophy is on you.
Sylectra Darwin: She has a thing for lions.
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: oh
Adelene Dawner: Yup. I was talking about my doodles earlier, briefly, as an example of impermanent art. The electronic doodles are the only ones I've made that I still have any record of.
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: I see...
Sylectra Darwin: so she kind of circles Ade and ThreeDee
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: hahah
Sylectra Darwin: She met Dharma not too long ago and was GLUED to her side the whole time
Corvuscorva Nightfire: my chat box keeps telling me I am colliding with sophy.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: guess that's what I get for sitting with the lions.
Sylectra Darwin: oh, sorry, you can turn your collision notifications off but I think I can move her.
    Sylectra Darwin: sophy come
    Corvuscorva Nightfire laughs.
    Sylectra Darwin: sophy greet steven
    Sylectra Darwin: sophy down
Threedee Shepherd: Just remember: Lion Pride
    Sylectra Darwin: hmm
    Sylectra Darwin: sophy good.
Sylectra Darwin: I need a lion av. Mine would be RED.
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: red?
    Sylectra Darwin: Rowan! Hihi
    Adelene Dawner blinks.
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: Hi Rowan!
    Sylectra Darwin: Fire engine red.
Adelene Dawner: With tones of brick red?
    Threedee Shepherd: Hi Rowan
Rowan Masala: Hi Corvi, Ade and other invisible people
    Corvuscorva Nightfire laughs
    stevenaia Michinaga: hi Rowan
    Adelene Dawner is going O.O
    Sophy whispers:      Greeting Rowan .
    Rowan Masala pets Sophy
    Rowan Masala: hi sweetie
Adelene Dawner: Remember I said the muse woke me up at 1:30 am last night to make art? The art was of a red lion. *Not* Threedee.
    Sophy whispers:      Greeting Rowan .
    Sylectra Darwin: you're kidding.
Sylectra Darwin: A red lion? No joke?
Adelene Dawner: No. I am not.
    Sylectra Darwin: OMG
Sylectra Darwin: Can I see it sometime?
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: oh!
Adelene Dawner will go get her camera.
Sylectra Darwin claps. We're having synchronically!ck
    Sophy whispers:      Noticed Rowan
    Bell: *ding*
    Sophy whispers:      Noticed zabuton_relax
Rowan Masala: Corvi I think you're very leonine as it is
Corvuscorva Nightfire smiles..it must be the hair.
Rowan Masala: hmm, maybe in part :)
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: hmm
Hester: but Corvi isn't scary like a lion
    Corvuscorva Nightfire smiles at Hester.
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: I'm a crow.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: irritating, maybe..but not scary.
Corvuscorva Nightfire smiles at the rabbit and offers a carrot.
Rowan Masala: oh, like one of the crow girls in... oh, what's his name... the guy that combines native american/celtic myth/post-apocalyptic stuff
Corvuscorva Nightfire: oh! I'm not sure....
    Hester: munches happily
Corvuscorva Nightfire: but that does sound interesting.
Rowan Masala: are we still logging?
    Rowan Masala: Charles de Lint
    Rowan Masala: that's his name
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: oh yes!
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: right
    Sylectra Darwin: sure
Sylectra Darwin: unless you'd rather not?
Corvuscorva Nightfire: I don't remember reading that.
Rowan Masala: if we're still logging I won't talk about it now
Adelene Dawner reads back, now that the photo is here.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: though I've read stuff by him.
    Sophy whispers:      Noticed Windchime
Adelene Dawner: The yellow is just a background, by the way, and the scroll says 'what about me?'. I don't know why it says that.
    Threedee Shepherd: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_de_Lint
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: oh, Adelene!
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: how lovely!
Corvuscorva Nightfire: You said you didn't draw!
Adelene Dawner: I don't. That's a printout of a graphic a dredged up from the 'net, colored in with a pen.
    Sylectra Darwin: It's beautiful...so subtle.
Corvuscorva Nightfire smiles..it's wonderfully put together.
Sylectra Darwin: what size did you say your artwork is?
Adelene Dawner: The piece is 3.5" x 2.5" in RL - there's to much room for detail or fiddly stuff.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: did you write the "what about me?" or was it on something?
Adelene Dawner: (Actually probably more like 4" x 2.5" with the sticky-outy bits. The background is the size of a baseball card or a standard playing card.
Sylectra Darwin: how did you settle on that size, Ade?
Sylectra Darwin: "Sticky-outy bits" is ALWAYS a great descriptive term. :)
Adelene Dawner: I printed out the words on the paper, Corvi, and then cut it out and rolled the ends - it's 3D, in person. The size is a standard thing for ACEOs, Syl.
    Adelene Dawner: hehe
Rowan Masala: oh... trying to remember
    Rowan Masala: let me look
    Rowan Masala: oops
    Rowan Masala: wrong window lol
    Bell: *ding*
Threedee Shepherd: Well friends, I will be off to other adventures. See you again. g'night :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: night three
    Sylectra Darwin: gnight, three!
    Adelene Dawner: 'night, Love.
    Sophy whispers:      Noticed Crow
    Sophy whispers:      Noticed zabuton_relax
Sylectra Darwin: well I will be off too, if someone is willing to take the rest of the log after this point?
