Neela Blaisdale: Hi
Quilty Bookmite: Hello. Sorry, I was doing mundane RL things.
Neela Blaisdale: Hey
Neela Blaisdale: Come and sit Ade
Neela Blaisdale: Like giving you a hug
Adelene Dawner: ^.^
Neela Blaisdale: I missed everyone!
Quilty Bookmite: You did? We're just getting started.
Neela Blaisdale: Hi Quilty
Neela Blaisdale: First time in the new pavillion, quite beautiful
Quilty Bookmite: There is an information post just by you Touch it for a note.
Quilty Bookmite: Me too.
Adelene Dawner: I'm getting used to the openness... it's not so bad in the light.
Quilty Bookmite: You didn't like it in the dark?
Neela Blaisdale: See what you mean about the dark
Adelene Dawner: I'm not too fond of open spaces in general, actually.
Neela Blaisdale: Maybe Storm can add some lights
Quilty Bookmite: I guess you can always set it to daytime.
Adelene Dawner: mmhmm
Quilty Bookmite: that would be a good idea.
Adelene Dawner: I like leaving the lights natural, but, yeah - not being creeped out is important, too.
Adelene Dawner: It will be interesting to see whether that's more or less of an issue when I switch over to my new computer area in a week or so. ^.^
Quilty Bookmite: :-)
Neela Blaisdale: I bet Storm can add candles, laanterns etc
Neela Blaisdale: Yes a little dark at night, just tried it
Adelene Dawner: Thing is, the scripted lightsources are tricky and don't provide the same kind of light as 'daylight'.
Neela Blaisdale: lso don't want to get sleepy!
Adelene Dawner: Adding them would help, but not fix it.
Quilty Bookmite: Neela, I see that which we haven't mentioned yet is emblazoned across your top. :-)
Neela Blaisdale: The other pavillion had good light, how did that work?
Neela Blaisdale: Yes Quilty, just got home this second from Fl where I was working for Obama the last 6 days.
Quilty Bookmite: Cool!
Neela Blaisdale: I'm so relieved!
Adelene Dawner: This actually does have a light, though I see that somehow my 'local lights' option got turned off - maybe in the update? Worth checking.
Neela Blaisdale: Especially for my 2 sons
Quilty Bookmite: You'll be pleased to know that people all over the UK are setting off fireworks tonight.
Neela Blaisdale: Really?
Quilty Bookmite: Yes. But...
Quilty Bookmite: it has nothing to do with the US elections. :-)
Quilty Bookmite: We do it every year on 5th November.
Neela Blaisdale: I was staying with a friend and too tired from going door to door to to the party the staff had, now could use a good celebration!
Adelene Dawner: Oh, that's right. I forgot to get my Guy Fawkes mask, too. :P
Neela Blaisdale: Guy Fawkes Day?
Quilty Bookmite: Yep. :-)
Neela Blaisdale: Yes as in the movie V
Adelene Dawner: I know of no reason the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot!
Neela Blaisdale: :)
Quilty Bookmite: Still, somehow it seems appropriate to use it as a celebration of the election. :-)
Adelene Dawner: ^.^
Neela Blaisdale: Funny I'm wearing my Obama shirt in SL and RL at the same time, that's a first.
Quilty Bookmite: :-)
Adelene Dawner: Yes, come sit. ^.^
Quilty Bookmite: Same shirt?
Adelene Dawner: Also, we log these sessions, will you mind being recorded?
Neela Blaisdale: No with short sleeves in RL
Quilty Bookmite: OK
Adelene Dawner: I think Quilty told him about the info notecard thing.
Quilty Bookmite: I suggested he read the information card.
Neela Blaisdale: Oh well, seems to have goe
Neela Blaisdale: *n
Quilty Bookmite: Yes.
Quilty Bookmite: You must be exhausted Neela.
Neela Blaisdale: Yes was going on adrenaline until they called it last night, then lots of crying and then got so tired I kept falling asleep during his speech...
Neela Blaisdale: But now plenty of time to catch up on sleep and back to the rest of life
Neela Blaisdale: theres that trigger word again
Quilty Bookmite: Sleep?
Neela Blaisdale: no I think it starts with g and ends with o
Neela Blaisdale: if I say it I'll be up again
Adelene Dawner: ^.^
Quilty Bookmite: I don;t see a word starting with g and ending with o.
Adelene Dawner: starts with g, ends with o, nothing in the middle. ^.^
Neela Blaisdale: cause I cant say it it wont type it- lets see- going- then take away the ing
Quilty Bookmite: I see.
Adelene Dawner sits on Neela. Now try going!
Quilty Bookmite: If I say it it doesn;t do anything?
Neela Blaisdale: hehe
Neela Blaisdale: no only me
Quilty Bookmite: Not like omigokko.
Quilty Bookmite: Which I just misspelt. :-)
Neela Blaisdale: similiar except the trigger word seems to stay...I have to back in and find the animation and I can remove it
Neela Blaisdale: whoops
Neela Blaisdale: Exhausting!
Quilty Bookmite: Sounds like some sort of post-hypnotic suggestion. :-)
Adelene Dawner chuckles.
Neela Blaisdale: :) useful...
Quilty Bookmite: Makes you stop I suppose. :-)
Neela Blaisdale: How have you both been?
Adelene Dawner: Good. Busy. Life's been interesting, in a good if chaotic way.
Quilty Bookmite: I've been well, other than the usual stuff at this time of year.
Quilty Bookmite: Ah yes. Chaos too. :-)
Adelene Dawner: 'motivation' is being interesting.
Neela Blaisdale: motivation?
Quilty Bookmite: Lack of it?
Neela Blaisdale: How so Ade?
Adelene Dawner: Surprisingly no, Quilty, at least in the way I'm thinking of.
Adelene Dawner: You might be aware, Neela, that things have been interesting-in-a-bad-way with my boyfriend recently... basically I've gotten sick of putting up with some stuff that's been being problematic for some time now.
Adelene Dawner: And a few weeks ago, I finally decided that enough's enough, I want to move out. Not that I *want* to move out, but I want to move out more than I want to keep dealing with this stuff.
Adelene Dawner: Well, BF found out... which went predictably poorly... and after he finished freaking out we talked and things have actually turned around here.
Quilty Bookmite: Sorry Adelene.
Adelene Dawner: Of course, it's only been a couple of weeks, and the problems have been there for years, so, yanno, I don't really trust it. And he's still making promises that he's not keeping - minor ones, but that's a big deal to me.
Quilty Bookmite: He gets sick whenever things don't go his way?
Adelene Dawner: o.O @ Quilty.
Neela Blaisdale: Do you and he have a third person to talk to together? Sometimes very helpful
Adelene Dawner notes that she is not looking for advice...
Adelene Dawner: 'lo Pem :)
Quilty Bookmite: Hi Pema.
Pema Pera: hi there!
Quilty Bookmite: Fair enough Adelene. I won't offer any. :-)
Neela Blaisdale: Hi Pema
Pema Pera: Good seeing you again, Neela!
Pema Pera: Hi Quilty, Adelene
Neela Blaisdale: Good to be back Pema
Pema Pera: How've you been?
Neela Blaisdale: Great, was telling Ade and Quilty just back from Fl and working for Obama there, so I'm in heaven!
Pema Pera: congratulations!!
Neela Blaisdale: :) to all of us!
Neela Blaisdale: and the environment!
Pema Pera: The first US elections I witnessed from within the US was in 1980, when Reagan got elected .. . . .
Adelene Dawner: ^.^
Pema Pera: this is my eigth round -- how time flies
Quilty Bookmite: :-)
Pema Pera: I was a grad student then, visiting Ann Arbor, MI
Neela Blaisdale: It's been a long 8 years
Pema Pera: in 1980 we said: at least it can't get much worse! Little did we know . . . .
Neela Blaisdale: I know, I said in the 70"s that if Reagan was ever President I would leave the US but didn't.
Quilty Bookmite: When W was elected I wasn't happy but thought that the bumbling fool couldn;t do too much damage...
Neela Blaisdale: Last month I told my husband that if Palin ever became President we have to leave!
Pema Pera: Compared to previous presidents Reagan seemed to be so obviously ignorant of so many basic things -- but I have to admit, at least he was sincere in his own way; something I don't think could be said in the same way about Bush
Quilty Bookmite: Hi Corvi.
Pema Pera: hehehe
Pema Pera: Hi Corvi
Wester Kiranov: hi
Neela Blaisdale: Hi Corvi!
Pema Pera: And hi Wester!
Neela Blaisdale: New look!
Pema Pera: Yes, quilty, how wrong we can be!
Corvuscorva Nightfire: Hi all!
Pema Pera: Feel free to take a bath, Corvi!
Quilty Bookmite: I think the damage done was more than I could ever have thought possible.
Quilty Bookmite: Hi Wester.
Pema Pera: Wester, have you been here before?
Neela Blaisdale: Hello Wester, nice to meet you!
Pema Pera: You fit in very nicely, Corvi!
Corvuscorva Nightfire cackles.
Pema Pera: hehehe
Wester Kiranov: Hi - i seem to be somewhere different than last time.
Pema Pera: hope it's a steam bath!
Quilty Bookmite: Indeed. Welcome to the new pavillion.
Quilty Bookmite: My first official visit here.
Wester Kiranov: so is there a pavillion and a bar here or did that change?
Pema Pera: Have people told you about the Play as Being group? http://playasbeing.wik.is/
Pema Pera: we talk about the nature of reality, but in a very loose and informal way
Pema Pera: and we generally put our conversation on a blog on the web (the URL I just wrote down).
Pema Pera: Do you mind if we include this conversation too?
Wester Kiranov: a weird choice of "place" for talking about reality
Adelene Dawner chuckles. "Not as weird as you'd thnk." ^.^
Quilty Bookmite: Quite appropriate in a lot of ways. :-)
Wester Kiranov: no i dont mind
Pema Pera: thanks!
Corvuscorva Nightfire: really, it's sort of perfect.
Wester Kiranov: explain
Adelene Dawner: Am I a woman dreaming I'm a lion, or a lion dreaming I'm a woman? ^.^
Neela Blaisdale: Well everyone, sorry to leave but have to pick up my son who I haven't seen in a week
Adelene Dawner: cya, Neela. ^.^
Neela Blaisdale: Bye, good to be back!
Quilty Bookmite: I'm a fat bald bloke dreaming I'm a fat bald bloke. :-)
Pema Pera: and alas, I have to leave as well -- other meetings in SL . . .
Quilty Bookmite: By Neela.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: bye, Neela!, Pema!
PaB Listener Master: Removing "Neela Blaisdale" from list.
Pema Pera: Hope to be able to stay longer next time!
Adelene Dawner: cya, Pem. ^>^
Corvuscorva Nightfire investigates WEster.
Pema Pera: see you all!
Pema Pera: hope to continue talking soon, Wester!
Adelene Dawner: What'cha think, Corvi? Does he need sitting on?
Quilty Bookmite: Wester I'll try and explain a little...
PaB Listener Master: Removing "Pema Pera" from list.
Wester Kiranov: please do explain
Quilty Bookmite: A lot of our discussions about reality centre around just how real it really is...
Corvuscorva Nightfire swings her beak from side to side....
Quilty Bookmite: So maybe what we perceive here in SL is no less real than what you perceive sitting at your computer.
Wester Kiranov: so you mean, I can use this to experience being two days old?
Corvuscorva Nightfire: or...a crow.
Delani Gabardini is Offline
Quilty Bookmite: Yes. :-)
Corvuscorva Nightfire: It's no more real, either.
Quilty Bookmite: We all create our own reality so being in SL is just a little more immediate.
Corvuscorva Nightfire pulls a strand of Quilty's hair.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: It's good to see you again, Quilty.
Quilty Bookmite: Pesky crows.
Corvuscorva Nightfire feels pesky.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: hehehe
Quilty Bookmite: Must find a scarecrow costume. :-)
Corvuscorva Nightfire pecks his jeans.
Quilty Bookmite: Wester, did you say you had been to these chats before?
Wester Kiranov: well, just one, two days ago, in the kira bar. that had voices too.
Wester Kiranov: I'm still very much getting used to being "here"
Quilty Bookmite: Ah I see.
Corvuscorva Nightfire bobs her head.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: it takes a while.
Quilty Bookmite: Fair enough. It takes some getting used to.
Quilty Bookmite: These particular chats don't normally happen in the Kira bar. We had another pavillion a short distance from here but this is a new and much better place.
Quilty Bookmite: It's also much more open to random passers by than the Kira bar.
Wester Kiranov: Yeah, I have to get used both to SL itself and to the SL kira culture
Quilty Bookmite: WB Adelene
Corvuscorva Nightfire: glad you're back Adelene
Adelene Dawner: Hullo again. *grumble grumble stupid client(
Quilty Bookmite: PaB is just a part of Kira. In fact I wasn't aware of Kira until I had been coming to PaB meetings for a while.
Corvuscorva Nightfire wipes her bill on Adelene's wing.
Quilty Bookmite: Yes. Very stupid. :-)
Wester Kiranov: I started out with kira so for me its the other way round
Adelene Dawner sniffs at whatever Corvi just wiped on her. Do I want to know?
Corvuscorva Nightfire: Just my bill....shining it up.
Adelene Dawner: Ah. Go ahead, then.
Quilty Bookmite: How did you find Kira?
Adelene Dawner: (Corvi and I do get serious occasionally, Wester, honest. Just, when we're not, we're not. ^.^)
Wester Kiranov: I met someone who had been before, and someone who knows pema pera irl
Quilty Bookmite: Ah yes. Pema is really the leading light in all this.
Wester Kiranov: i know
Quilty Bookmite: Have you seen the PaB notecard?
Wester Kiranov: no i havent
Quilty Bookmite: I haven't read it myself yet. :-)
Quilty Bookmite: You can get a copy by touching one of the information posts.
Wester Kiranov: what are the information posts?
PaB welcome information giver owned by Storm Nordwind gave you 'PaB Information' ( http://slurl.com/secondlife/Bieup/64/25/104 ).
Quilty Bookmite: The white posts with a blue 'i' on top that are round this pavillion.
PaB welcome information giver owned by Storm Nordwind gave you 'PaB landmark' ( http://slurl.com/secondlife/Bieup/64/25/104 ).
Wester Kiranov: OK i'll take a look sometime
Quilty Bookmite: It will probablhy explain better than I can what PaB is all about.
Quilty Bookmite: It also explains about the meetings. We meet here 4 times a day.
Wester Kiranov: yeah, i think i like the idea but it might still be a bit advanced for me.
Quilty Bookmite: There is no rush. Just take it at your own pace.
Wester Kiranov: and i always get confused with the time zones. i think it's a nine hour difference but i'm not sure
Quilty Bookmite: YOu are in Europe then?
Quilty Bookmite: I'm on 8 hours difference.
Wester Kiranov: yeah, from the Netherlands actually
Quilty Bookmite: Ah. Then 9 hours sounds right.
Quilty Bookmite: I'm in the UK.
Adelene Dawner: Folks, I need to go do some work stuff. I'll see you around.
Quilty Bookmite: Bye Adelene.
PaB Listener Master: Removing "Adelene Dawner" from list.
Wester Kiranov: i think i'll go too. have to get up early to bring the kids to the playgroup.
Quilty Bookmite: Well, it's my bedtime. My daughter wakes me up early in the morning. :-)
Corvuscorva Nightfire: Bye, Wester, Quilty!
Quilty Bookmite: I hope to see you around Wester.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: I look forward to seeing you both again soon.
Wester Kiranov: see you later then.
Quilty Bookmite: Bye Corvi.
