Adams Rubble: Since I was hanging around the Zen retreat the week before, it semed approriate to come today :)

People had arranged themselves oddly around the pool, so I decided to remove it and reduce the number of cushions from 24 to just 8, and together we reflected on a year ago.

Storm Nordwind: A year ago, I could not have envisaged where we are now. Now I just expect anything at all to happen in the next year!

Storm Nordwind: A year ago I was swept up in the enthusiasm for this new project called Play as Being
Wol Euler: yeah, that is a large part of what kept me here.
Storm Nordwind: Well my life is richer for your all having stayed here! :)

Storm Nordwind: So if you could sum up in one sentence why you stayed in SL after all after coming into contact with PaB, how would you describe it? And how have you changed?
Storm Nordwind: Mick, we are recalling an near anniversary of Adams - of coming here
Storm Nordwind: and we are all reflecting similarly
Mickorod Renard: wow,,fantastic
Adams Rubble: Pema had much to do with me staying and I am a much calmer person, learning about Love
Adams Rubble: but I had a wonderful introduction from Storm that kept me here until I met Pema (the second week)

A few words here, a little kindness there. It becomes simply a part of everyday life. We may no longer think about it as it becomes who we are. But the effect we have can change a life - and we may never know it.

Storm Nordwind: but it's not a family that excludes others - it seems to constantly grow

Qt Core: i'm having some little doubts about my permanence in SL and PaB is one of the few things keeping me there at the moment
Wol Euler: why is that, QT?
Wol Euler: (the doubts)
Qt Core: as i'm not (and i don't plan to at the moment) a builder or a scripter or nothing i have a little lack of a goal here
Qt Core: the lack of well stated goals is one of the nice things of sl but it is one of the if not flaws, downs
Storm Nordwind: Perhaps that is like Real Life Qt?
Mickorod Renard: I can understand wht you are saying QT..as i often only come on to come to PaB too
Qt Core: yes, even too much, Storm ;-)
Wol Euler: RL is harder to log out of ...

Storm Nordwind: Do you mean in a workshop? Or someone that is knowledgeable in it?

Qt Core: being an amateur astronomer i've read several books about QM, but only some month ago i had a "revelation" about it
Mickorod Renard: please tell QT
Qt Core: i started circling and wondering if there is a connection between QM and free will
Mickorod Renard: mmm can u go further?

Qt Core: if the universe is newtonian, all stated and you can do some math and calculate the state of it at any point in time there is no free will
Mickorod Renard: ok
Qt Core: so all the problems with religion and sin
Qt Core: and grace
Storm Nordwind: I've heard that argument before but have never been convinced
Qt Core: but then QM stir it all ;-)
Mickorod Renard: yes
Mickorod Renard: I am facinated too,,with sort of similar thoughts
Qt Core: well, i'm not an expert, in both of the area of this, QM nor religion
Mickorod Renard: not about religion
Mickorod Renard: but about what we observe
Wester Kiranov: But if you know the wave function of the universe it's all determined too - in QM
Qt Core: it was one of those flash i sometime got while driving home in the evening... and risk to crash ;-)

Qt Core: still a probability function, not a "sureness" one
Mickorod Renard: but what we observe may be governed by a time line narative,,but outside that there may be any number of posibilities?
Storm Nordwind: Perhaps you are thinking that QM is bringing a measure of social science into the natural sciences! :) Introducing the idea of probabilities instead of 100% determinism
Mickorod Renard: yes,,for me its the idea of probabilities
Wester Kiranov: there are so many things here philosophically problematical - probabilities, free will, determinism, observation - each of those can be interpterted in many ways
Qt Core: i still like the idea of someone coming out from a place well hidden and bringing us the simple and definitive equation that would explain everything ;-)
Storm Nordwind: Like God's final message to his creation in H2G2? :)

For those wishing to know God's final message to his creation and who have both wanderlust and a deep purse, they should make their way beyond what used to be known as the Limitless Lightfields of Flanux (until the Grey Binding Fiefdoms of Saxaquine were discovered lying behind them) to the Grey Binding Fiefdoms of Saxaquine. Within the Grey Binding Fiefdoms of Saxaquine lies the star named Zarss, around which orbits the planet Preliumtarn in which is the land of Sevorbeupstry. And in the land of Sevorbeupstry, they should come to the Great Red Plain of Rars, which is bounded on the South side by the Quentulus Quazgar Mountains, on the further side of which they will find the message they seek in thirty-foot-high letters of fire. I'll not spoil the Big Surprise by telling you what it is here.

A brief aside about children's books, first in jest but then in seriousness.

Mickorod Renard: mmmmm..I think I will return to reading kids books again/..he he
Storm Nordwind: Actually there are some very profound things in one or two kids' books
Wester Kiranov: it is good stuff to think about, you just shouldn't think you understand it all too soon
Storm Nordwind is thinking especially of "Meal One" by Ivor Cutler
Mickorod Renard: I know how little i understand,,grin,,about zero..but i am fascinated..
