    Solobill Laville: Hi, Scath

    Wol Euler: hello solo, scath

    Scathach Rhiadra: Hello solo, Wol:)

    Solobill Laville: Hi, Wol :)

Wol Euler: how is everyone this evening?

Scathach Rhiadra: I'm fine, looking forward to a long weekend

    Wol Euler nods and grins

    Scathach Rhiadra: how are you?

Wol Euler: nearly drunk, on one glass of beer. A half-litre, but still ...

Wol Euler: too little practice :)

    Scathach Rhiadra: :)

    Solobill Laville: Sorry...gone and back

    Wol Euler: no worries

    Scathach Rhiadra: :)

Solobill Laville: work and economy fun... :/

    Solobill Laville: But, alas

Solobill Laville: Here we are in beautiful bieup!

Wol Euler: ah well, 'tis an imperfect world of joy and sorrow commingled, as the poet said.

Solobill Laville: Yes, it rings sweetly and still stings...daggone poets.. ;)

    Solobill Laville: Long weekend, Scath?

    Solobill Laville: Holiday?

Scathach Rhiadra: yes, it is here, bank holiday monday

Solobill Laville: Nice...we had Memorial Day (veterans day) last Monday

Solobill Laville: THat was my long weekend! :)

    Scathach Rhiadra: :)

    Solobill Laville: Going anywhere fun?

Wol Euler: staying in bed :) and a picnic tomorrow if it doesn't rain

Scathach Rhiadra: no, just not to work:)

Solobill Laville: hehe, both sound great :)

    Solobill Laville: Here's one...

    Wol Euler: mmm?

Solobill Laville: I feel very confortable...at ease...with the future

    Solobill Laville: BUT...

    Wol Euler raises an eyebrow

Solobill Laville: When it comes to supporting my immediate family (with young kids), the attachments ring so much stronger...

    Solobill Laville: totally normal

    Wol Euler: mmhmm

    Scathach Rhiadra nods

Solobill Laville: yet, interesting to taste it

Solobill Laville maybe needs to get his kids to do prostrations....

    Solobill Laville: nah ;)

Wol Euler: would their prostration solve your anxiety? :)

    Solobill Laville: hehe, nope...

Solobill Laville: Just put them in charge of their own destiny sooner than expected!!

    Solobill Laville shrugs and laughs

    Wol Euler: :)

Solobill Laville: My son, speak of the lil' devil, said something this morning

Solobill Laville: "ya know, Dad, I think that in the Earth...

Solobill Laville: ...is love, and gravity, and air."

    Wol Euler: hello mick

    Wol Euler: heh!

Solobill Laville: I said, 'I agree!"

    Scathach Rhiadra: Hello Mick

    Solobill Laville: Hi, Mick

    Mickorod Renard: Hiya WolScathSolo

    Mickorod Renard: Solo,,,,

    Solobill Laville: Yes?

Mickorod Renard: I think I am doing your scribe slot any day now

    Solobill Laville: Ah!

Solobill Laville: I think that is the 4th, 5th, and 6th of the month

Mickorod Renard: I keep forgetting which days they are?

    Solobill Laville: zing

Mickorod Renard: u read my mind

    Mickorod Renard: amazing

    sophia Placebo: greeting all

Solobill Laville: Your due date is the 9th, my friend :)

Wol Euler: solo has many talents

    Solobill Laville: Hiya, Soph

    Scathach Rhiadra: Hello Sophia

Wol Euler: hello sophia. And another fresh new look :)

    sophia Placebo: :)

    Mickorod Renard: Hi sophia

    Solobill Laville: Yes, very nice

    Mickorod Renard: very sophisticated

Mickorod Renard: I have not done a scribe yet

Mickorod Renard: so please excuse if I mess up

Wol Euler: I like the contrast of the bone and feather necklace with the very delicate earrings

Solobill Laville: Mick - 2 pieces of advice then, for their worth

    Mickorod Renard: ok

    Wol Euler listens

Solobill Laville: Don't try too hard...and don't underestimate how much time it will take :)

    Wol Euler: yeah, really.

    Mickorod Renard: lol

sophia Placebo: :) amazing art in sl

Wol Euler: even doing as sloppy a job as I did takes ages.

Solobill Laville: My shortest took I think 3 1/2, longest 6

    Solobill Laville: hours

Mickorod Renard: how come I am so easily talked into these things,,he he he

    Solobill Laville: hehe indeed :)

    Wol Euler grins ruefully

Solobill Laville: But it is actually great to tdo

Mickorod Renard: so every one tells me

Solobill Laville: Our focus tends to increase sometimes when we know others are looking in

    Solobill Laville: Maybe all times

Mickorod Renard: is that whatv every says to someone who is a posible taker?

Wol Euler: some of us just say "please! please! I'll bribe you"

Solobill Laville: Yes, I begged... ;)

Mickorod Renard: hey,,I missed out on the bribe

Wol Euler: well, you settled for Solo :)

    Solobill Laville: lol

    Mickorod Renard: he he he

Mickorod Renard: well,,I have looked at a few,,and they are all so diferent

Solobill Laville: I can mind read but I'm a terrible dancer ;)

    Mickorod Renard: ;)

    Mickorod Renard: lost for words

    Wol Euler chuckles

Solobill Laville: Eliza's last one can be a good start...pull out poignant spots and then write transitions

Mickorod Renard: Storm did a huge poem like thing

Mickorod Renard: I saw that it looked scary

Solobill Laville: Do what you want

Mickorod Renard: others just cut and pasted

    Mickorod Renard: almost

Solobill Laville points to his last comment

    Mickorod Renard: yea

    Solobill Laville: Seriously...

    Solobill Laville: You'll do great

Mickorod Renard: I suppose its open to atrtistic licence

    Mickorod Renard: artistic even

    Mickorod Renard: has sophia gone?

    Wol Euler: crashed, I assume.

Mickorod Renard: I tell u watz wierd about SL and here

    Wol Euler: mmm?

    Scathach Rhiadra listens?

Mickorod Renard: when I have discussions in RL,,nobody is on the same wavelength

Mickorod Renard: yet here everyone is so either accomodaying,,or similar in idea's

    Mickorod Renard: or thoughts

    Solobill Laville: "Breathers" vs. "non-breathers"

Mickorod Renard: I think that is the key

Wol Euler smiles. This is the epitome of a self-selecting group though. Try going to Madame Fred's Bondage Parlour And Animal Fetish Saloon and asking about phenomenology :)

Scathach Rhiadra: hmmm, have you never been involved in conversations where different threads get mixed?

Mickorod Renard: Are they good Wol?

    Wol Euler: oh yeah.

    Wol Euler laughs.

    Mickorod Renard: grin

    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey everyone

    Mickorod Renard: Hi Yak

Wol Euler: just an example. I made it up, but something disturbingly much like that probably does exist

    Wol Euler: hello yakuzza

    Scathach Rhiadra: Hello Yakuzza

    Solobill Laville: Heya, Yakuzza

Solobill Laville: Don't most PaB sessions have different mixed threads though?

Scathach Rhiadra: some more so than others

Wol Euler: to some extent, yes.

Solobill Laville: Some more than others too

Solobill Laville: SL issues today it would seem

Yakuzza Lethecus: everybody had a good week ?

Yakuzza Lethecus: i am not tat talkative usually but someone has to start .p

    Scathach Rhiadra: :)

    Solobill Laville: I've had a week :)

Wol Euler: sorry to hear it, solo.

    Solobill Laville shrugs

Solobill Laville: thanks! It is a beautiful day

Yakuzza Lethecus: on what kind of topics is PaB focused by the way ?

Yakuzza Lethecus: i know i saw discussionas about everything already, but when i sit here on the pillow i always think that it's supposed to be more an introspective topic

    Solobill Laville: Hi, Susie

    Yakuzza Lethecus: hello susie

    Susie Fussbudget: hi

Solobill Laville: I haven't met an SL Fussbudget yet! :)

    Wol Euler: hello susi

    Susie Fussbudget: lol

    Scathach Rhiadra: Hello susie

Susie Fussbudget: well, here I am

    Solobill Laville: hehe, and welcome!

    Susie Fussbudget: thank you

Solobill Laville: Been here before Susie?

    Susie Fussbudget: no i haven't

    Yakuzza Lethecus: hello mick

Solobill Laville: We are a discussion / practice group that talks about "reality" or "Being"

    Wol Euler: wb mick

    Susie Fussbudget: reality

    Scathach Rhiadra: wb Mick

Wol Euler: and the difference between reality and what we think we see

Wol Euler: which might also be an answer to Yakuzza :)

    Mickorod Renard: Hiya

Mickorod Renard: yes..i just went to check those sites out Wol, that u suggested

Solobill Laville: Anyway, there is also a wiki where conversations and links and such is posted

Yakuzza Lethecus: yeah, its really just because i

Wol Euler: I suspected as much.

Wol Euler hands you a clothesbrush

Solobill Laville: there are 4 sessions a day so the whole globe can play as being

    Scathach Rhiadra: :)

Yakuzza Lethecus: saw discussions on pretty much everything so far, and sometimes it gets so silent

    Solobill Laville: Yes

Solobill Laville: Sometimes that silence is powerful too

    Scathach Rhiadra nods

    Wol Euler: mmhmm

Wol Euler: we are officially a meditation group, after all :)

    Solobill Laville: hehe, are we?

Wol Euler: oh, I thought so.

Solobill Laville: I wouldn't argue that Wol

Solobill Laville: Perhaps some might... :)

Mickorod Renard: Hi Suzie..are you new?

    Susie Fussbudget: yes

    Mickorod Renard: cool..welcome

Wol Euler: btw Susi, there was a purpose to Solo telling you about our website. We do record adn publish these sessions.

Wol Euler: may we have your permission to include your name and your comments in the published log?

    Solobill Laville: Wol Euler, Esq.

    Solobill Laville: ;)

Wol Euler: "Madam" if you don't mind.

Wol Euler: well, I guess she does mind :)

Mickorod Renard: ohh noo,,u scared her off

Solobill Laville: That one usually does it, haha

    Wol Euler: yeah

    Scathach Rhiadra: :)

Wol Euler: ah well, saves some time in the long run

Mickorod Renard: she looked cute too

Mickorod Renard: yeh,,i had a strange crash,,all seemed normal but black and white

    Wol Euler: that is odd

Mickorod Renard: by the way,,i am standing in as gaurdian tommorow at 7am slt

Solobill Laville: Guard well, sir Mick!

Wol Euler looks across at Scath. Won't you be here?

    Scathach Rhiadra: 7 am?

Mickorod Renard: yes,,i may need company

Solobill Laville: I will be in soccer-Dad land

Mickorod Renard: thats in the afternoon for europeens

    Solobill Laville: 10AM for me

    Mickorod Renard: wow,,sounds nice Sol

Scathach Rhiadra: I'm here 1 am

Wol Euler: aah, sorry, missed a step. yes you are :)

Yakuzza Lethecus: does anyone here still watches regular televison ?

Wol Euler: not since about 2005

    Mickorod Renard: nahhhh,,too boring now

Wol Euler: it could never match up to this.

    Wol Euler: wb solo

Solobill Laville: thx...it got me too!

Scathach Rhiadra: true, I haven't seen television since joining SL

    Scathach Rhiadra: wb Solo

    Mickorod Renard: same prob Solo>?

Solobill Laville: But i just came back to say have a great long weekend my European friends, I must be off

Yakuzza Lethecus: yeah, me neither only the news in the morning before i drive to work at 5:30

Wol Euler: awwwww. bye solo, have a great weekend, enjoy the soccer-daddery

Mickorod Renard: I watched man united get beat the other day,,very sad

Scathach Rhiadra: ty Solo, you have a good weekend too, Namaste

    Mickorod Renard: bye Solo

    Solobill Laville: :))

    Yakuzza Lethecus: bye

Scathach Rhiadra: I think I will head off too, good night all, Namasté

Wol Euler: goodnight scath, sleep well

    Yakuzza Lethecus: good night scath

    Mickorod Renard: bye Scath

Mickorod Renard: I may be going in a mom..someone in im

Yakuzza Lethecus: sometimes it happens that i even fall asleep at this time

    Mickorod Renard: grin

Wol Euler: yeah, it is very relaxing here

Mickorod Renard: yes,,i am off now,,have an appoinment

Yakuzza Lethecus: literally, because i already am on my couch

Wol Euler: bye mick, take care.

    Yakuzza Lethecus: bye

Yakuzza Lethecus: and how did you come to this place ?

Wol Euler: mmmmm, it was suggested by Fael, whom I met at an animations shop :)

Wol Euler: we were talking about stress and feeling ill at ease in oneself

Wol Euler: and she suggested this

Yakuzza Lethecus: i was on the kira page and then i saw that there was another event

Yakuzza Lethecus: after fefonz mention all this here i was curious and since then i come here just to see

Wol Euler nods. You are often here, I know; but you seem to listen most often

Yakuzza Lethecus: so i came to kira quiet often beofre

Yakuzza Lethecus: it's still an unpleasant silence often

    Wol Euler: why?

Yakuzza Lethecus: it's just an perception, then i get the "need" of saying something

    Wol Euler smiles and nods.

Wol Euler: well, there is no rule against speaking when people are silent (except during hte 90 second periods)

Yakuzza Lethecus: yeah, and even that will be broken most of the time :)

Wol Euler: it often happens that people do breathing exercises during hte 90 secs, and continue on afterwards without hearing the bell :)

    Wol Euler: true

Yakuzza Lethecus: i really should try real meditation

    Wol Euler: mmhmm :)

Yakuzza Lethecus: i don't even know that in real life

Wol Euler: I'm not an expert, there are others who can give you more practical guidance

Wol Euler: but it's basically about learning to turn off the noise :)

Wol Euler: all kinds of noise: body awareness, traffic sounds, the constant whirr and hum of your brain

Yakuzza Lethecus: for example i really just came for the science and philosophy events to kira

Yakuzza Lethecus: but since i saw that stm morane and some others are really qualified on the field

Yakuzza Lethecus: i am also curious about other perspecties

    Yakuzza Lethecus: perspectives

    Wol Euler nods

Yakuzza Lethecus: in real life i alwas had the feeling that those things are just money making mambo jumbo people

Wol Euler shrugs. Some of them are, yes. As are some scientists. There are crooks and thieves in every profession.

Wol Euler: my own experience started with my therapist, nearly 20 years ago now.

Wol Euler: she was advising me on dealing wiht work-related panic attacks

Wol Euler: that I had to get under control for an upcoming presentation project, visiting 12 European branch offices ot present a new piece of software

Wol Euler: she taught me some simple breathing exercises and a few visualization tricks, as a way to calm and center myself

Wol Euler: now, I too thought it was a fraud on gullible people

Wol Euler: but I trusted her, so I tried it.

    Wol Euler: And it worked.

Wol Euler: It is hard to think that something is a fraud once you see it working in your own life!

Yakuzza Lethecus: yeah, sometimes it's something we have to believe in that it works

Yakuzza Lethecus: if we think it's fraud we don't believe so we won't even have the placebo effect

    Wol Euler: mmhmm

Wol Euler: it's like magic: it works if you believe that it will work.

Yakuzza Lethecus: but i think that visualisation techniques can work

Wol Euler: oh yes! I use them every day at work, atcually, they are a great tool

Yakuzza Lethecus: we must have some ways to influence ourselves through our mind

Wol Euler smiles. One thing htat happens when you start meditating is that you become terribly aware of your skin

Wol Euler: and how your clothes sit on it.

Wol Euler: you feel itchy all over :)

Wol Euler: I learned by acccident a way to deal with that.

Wol Euler: I was doing a mountain meditation (you sit relaxed, breathing deeply, watching your breathing, and think of a quite specific mountain)

Wol Euler: and an itch started on my back. I could feel it moving slowly upwards towards my neck

Wol Euler: and I thought that the itch was on the mountain, and what might it be?

Wol Euler: so I saw it as a party of mountain climbers making hteir way up the slope

Wol Euler: utterly tiny, insignificantly small and slow against this huge bulk.

Wol Euler: but I cherished them for their courage in doing this absurd thing

Wol Euler: and truly since then I haven't been disturbed by a skin itch while sitting

Wol Euler smiles and shrugs. A silly story

    Yakuzza Lethecus: no its innteresting

Yakuzza Lethecus: for example i think much about how i learned to control my body or how i started thinkng

Yakuzza Lethecus: and if i really think in language

    Wol Euler nods

Yakuzza Lethecus: and most of the things we learn are just learned nativly

Yakuzza Lethecus: there are muscles i can't even use

Yakuzza Lethecus: but how to activate them

Yakuzza Lethecus: like shaking with the ears

Yakuzza Lethecus: so there must be tools that are enabling us to control more

    Wol Euler: mmhmm

Yakuzza Lethecus: i don't know how i became the person i am right now and when i picked up the words and thoughts i have

    Wol Euler smiles

Yakuzza Lethecus: but i can even remember the time when i hated the english language

    Wol Euler: :)

Wol Euler: those are very good questions

Yakuzza Lethecus: now i finally think even without any thinking about the translation

Yakuzza Lethecus: ok i can't shift itno a different voice :)

Yakuzza Lethecus: like on science at play

    Wol Euler: :)

Wol Euler: voice is different somehow!

    Yakuzza Lethecus: other sounds sometimes

    Yakuzza Lethecus: slightly different pronounciations

    Wol Euler: mmhmm

Wol Euler: it was the same for me when learning German

Yakuzza Lethecus: i think much about language aquisiton

    Yakuzza Lethecus: acquisition

Yakuzza Lethecus: sorry i am far away from the display

Wol Euler: that's bad for your shoulders and upper back :)

Wol Euler: you hve to reach too far, and you lean forward

Yakuzza Lethecus: for example when i read something like that i think about my own social background

    Wol Euler: dankeschön

Yakuzza Lethecus: and in what terms i am thinking

Yakuzza Lethecus: and how language and the "code" i am usuing shifts my thoughts

Yakuzza Lethecus: and obviously if i think in language at all

Yakuzza Lethecus: sure its only about acquisition for very small children but i believe it's in the same way but not that extreme even later

    Wol Euler: sure

Wol Euler: with the difference that the first language you learn shapes the way you think about languages

Wol Euler: learning a second is different because you do have a first to compare it to

Yakuzza Lethecus: in the first place until you reach the break even

Yakuzza Lethecus: when you don't even think in ur native language anymore

    Wol Euler: mmhmm

Yakuzza Lethecus: its sad that there aren't mor groups in 2nd life really into linguistics

Yakuzza Lethecus: most are prety much dead without events

Wol Euler: yes, when that happens it suddenly gets so much more exciting, and easier to learn more

Wol Euler: another such point is when your grasp of the language is good enough that you can read books or magazines for pleasure

Yakuzza Lethecus: i am even more interested in the theoretical stuff since its just a hobby

Wol Euler: that gives you anohter sharp rush upwards.

Yakuzza Lethecus: so reading about chomsky isn't a pain since i don't have exams :)

    Wol Euler: right!

Yakuzza Lethecus: i really believe that to much pressure can kill curiousity

    Wol Euler: absolutely.

Yakuzza Lethecus: in our school system

    Wol Euler: mmhmm

Yakuzza Lethecus: but even in later life

Wol Euler: forcing kids to read books that are too heavy and /or too advanced for them

Wol Euler: it crushes the delight they might have had in reading

Yakuzza Lethecus: or when they are unable to elaborate their onwn interests

    Wol Euler: mmhmm

Wol Euler: the schools take the wrong view of the use of reading, I think

Wol Euler: somebody who is confident and enjoys reading, can teach themselves anything.

Wol Euler: that is what schools should try to give students.

Yakuzza Lethecus: i think we have to be interested in the ideas of our childrens and help them to elaborate the things they are interested in with our own knowledge

Yakuzza Lethecus: but i don't have children so far

    Yakuzza Lethecus: <- 27

    Wol Euler: ah .)

Wol Euler: you have plenty of time

Yakuzza Lethecus: i just think what was wrong in my case

    Yakuzza Lethecus: :P

Wol Euler: a friend of mine had a son, his first child, just before his 50th birthday

Yakuzza Lethecus: oh, thats too late

Wol Euler shrugs. Not ideal, perhaps, but there is no such thing as "too late"

    Yakuzza Lethecus: sure

Wol Euler: it happened now, not before.

Yakuzza Lethecus: its just that children don't have that much time with their parents then anymore

Yakuzza Lethecus: i dunno its hard to imagin

    Wol Euler nods

Yakuzza Lethecus: or the children keep the elderly young :)

Yakuzza Lethecus: my farther was always overworked and finally started doing sports and everything when we were grown up

Yakuzza Lethecus: after the age of 50 he started skiing

    Wol Euler smiles

Yakuzza Lethecus: and he's a sportsfanatic now

Yakuzza Lethecus: now he really got a 2nd life

    Wol Euler: :)

Wol Euler: Mickorod talked a few days ago about having given up his job for several years to take care of his (then) young children. Were you here for that?

Yakuzza Lethecus: no i didn't saw that

    Wol Euler: http://playasbeing.wik.is/Chat_Logs/..._the_man_thing

Yakuzza Lethecus: that really depends on the individual situation

Wol Euler: he said that he had enjoyed it greatly, but that it had had a high price in terms of career, and also his position in society

Wol Euler: being viewed as less "manly" because he didn't have a proper job

Wol Euler: yes, not everyone could do that. That is clear.

Yakuzza Lethecus: i start typing and then i delete everything :)=

    Wol Euler: yeah, that happens.

Yakuzza Lethecus: i was thinking about a coworker issue but those things are always to idosyncratic

Yakuzza Lethecus: and valuejudgements are tricky

    Wol Euler nods

Yakuzza Lethecus: do you have children by the way ?

    Wol Euler: no, I don't.

Wol Euler: I missed that ...

Wol Euler: I have nieces and nephews, and am a surrogate parent to every little child in the street :)

Yakuzza Lethecus: i think much about how parents should behave right and how to deal with the own ignorance and incompetence

    Wol Euler: mmhmm

Yakuzza Lethecus: to have children is easy

Yakuzza Lethecus: to raise them is the problem

    Wol Euler: yes, very true.

Yakuzza Lethecus: a coworker got a daugther in my age she got 4 children and lives on welfare

    Yakuzza Lethecus: it's really surreal

    Wol Euler nods

Wol Euler: I hope she's happy?

Yakuzza Lethecus: i just heard about those issues from the media when i was smaller

Yakuzza Lethecus: i don't even believe that

Yakuzza Lethecus: she just got divorced from her on welfare living man

    Yakuzza Lethecus: ...

    Wol Euler: huh

Yakuzza Lethecus: what does a human being really need

Yakuzza Lethecus: and how does our environment influence us

Yakuzza Lethecus: that are really my main interests

Yakuzza Lethecus: lol i think i talked to eliza about that nature nurture issue before :)

    Wol Euler nods

    Wol Euler: mmm?

Yakuzza Lethecus: somewhere in the chatlogs is one transciript where i talked to eliza but not over all this topics right now

Yakuzza Lethecus: but sure envrionemtn is my biggest topic and thats even why i came to 2nd life

Wol Euler: it shold be possible to find htat... google knows everything

Yakuzza Lethecus: yeah i already found it it google

Yakuzza Lethecus: but i won't switch out of 2nd life at since i can't see anything with windows font

    Wol Euler: :)

Yakuzza Lethecus: i can't even see what i am typing

Yakuzza Lethecus: only when its on the display

Wol Euler: ah, get a Mac and a wide-screeen display :)

    Yakuzza Lethecus: on the hud

Wol Euler: I have SL and a browser open at the same time

Yakuzza Lethecus: widescreen but i am on my couch

    Yakuzza Lethecus: :)

    Wol Euler: ah, right

Yakuzza Lethecus: i have even a 2nd monitor

Yakuzza Lethecus: just for 2nd life

Yakuzza Lethecus: i like 2nd life because you can get in touch with people that are really interested in the topics you are interested in too

    Wol Euler: mmhmm

    Wol Euler: it's a social concentrator :)

Yakuzza Lethecus: in real life i don't know anybody who would have ever mentioned chomsky or and philosophers

    Wol Euler: :)

    Wol Euler: or perhaps :(

Yakuzza Lethecus: and philosophers are crazhy people anyway

Yakuzza Lethecus: so the contrast is queit high

Yakuzza Lethecus: i can't even talk about 2nd life in real life

Wol Euler: oh yes, definitely. The level of conversatoin here can be quite breathtakingly high

    Yakuzza Lethecus: only 1-2 friends

    Wol Euler nods. Nor I.

Wol Euler: people who haven't seen it themselves cannot understand what makes it work

Yakuzza Lethecus: yeah, its just a computergame in the eyes of many

    Wol Euler: mmhmm

Yakuzza Lethecus: and they might think about senseless stuff like world of warcraft

    Wol Euler: yep

Wol Euler: to be fair, that is wht they are told. Every newpapre article about SL says two things: WoW and virtual sex.

Yakuzza Lethecus: obvousyl you can have a couple of great contacts fromsuch a game too

Yakuzza Lethecus: yeah, i guess thats right

Yakuzza Lethecus: and that half of the 2nd economy died when gambling became forbidden

Yakuzza Lethecus: i also never came to 2nd life because of those media articles

    Wol Euler: yes, agreed.

Wol Euler: I was sure it would be crap, based on them

Wol Euler: this was a great surprise

Yakuzza Lethecus: yeah, but i pretty much don't leave my philosophy and science places :)

Yakuzza Lethecus: thothica, philosophy house, kira, the fhilosophy class

    Yakuzza Lethecus: philosophy class

Wol Euler: what, no nude-animal-sex-fetish beaches?

    Yakuzza Lethecus: the learning experience

    Wol Euler grins

Yakuzza Lethecus: not so far :)

Yakuzza Lethecus: maybe when i put sartre in my pocket :D

    Wol Euler: hehehehehh

Wol Euler: that would do it.

Yakuzza Lethecus: i am even scared about those party places

Yakuzza Lethecus: i try to be focused on 2nd life , really more on self exploration that on visual elements

Wol Euler: mmmm, consider the possibility that "visual elements" might also be an exploration.

Yakuzza Lethecus: it's already interesting how ur avatar can dance while you can't do that in such a way :)

Yakuzza Lethecus: i already stopped using televison on a regular basis

    Wol Euler grins

Yakuzza Lethecus: i lose my focus when i use to many visual elements

Yakuzza Lethecus: and i believe we decide to be happy

Yakuzza Lethecus: and even text chat can give us pleasure

Wol Euler: of course! who could deny it?

    Wol Euler: strange idea.

Wol Euler: typing "/me reaches across the table and takes your hand" can be very moving.

Wol Euler: if you are embodied in SL that is

Wol Euler: I have been brought to tears in typed conversations here

Yakuzza Lethecus: last week sombody was here who lost his mother

    Wol Euler: oh!

Yakuzza Lethecus: and i didn't know waht to say at all

    Wol Euler nods

Yakuzza Lethecus: it's really easier to make contacts anonymously

Yakuzza Lethecus: and even to be more open in that case

    Wol Euler: mhmm

Yakuzza Lethecus: and most of the people are not even in germany :)

    Wol Euler: heh

Wol Euler: and some of them are dogs.

Yakuzza Lethecus: so you can reflect and for me it's easier since they are far far away

    Yakuzza Lethecus: lol

Yakuzza Lethecus: göttingen ist aber immer noch weit weg

Wol Euler: well, what does "close" mean? you are closer to me than my upstairs neighbour.

Wol Euler: ja, das ist es!

Yakuzza Lethecus is in the sauerland

    Wol Euler: ah

Yakuzza Lethecus: its really countryside here

    Yakuzza Lethecus: no university libarary

    Wol Euler: ack!

Yakuzza Lethecus: no possibilities to get in touch with philosophy at all

Wol Euler: I couldn't live without at least one library nearby

Yakuzza Lethecus: 20 km and all i am interested in has to be distant orederd

    Wol Euler: eeep, poor you!

Yakuzza Lethecus: 3 euro if its distant

    Wol Euler: :(

Yakuzza Lethecus: and driving since they don't deliver home

Yakuzza Lethecus: sure there are even other ways to get books

Yakuzza Lethecus: but even to read is still problematic

Yakuzza Lethecus: i was never reading much

Yakuzza Lethecus: i was glad that i read a book in a week at the beginning of this year

Wol Euler: well, you know, that is as much as many read in a year.

Yakuzza Lethecus: i know that exactly

Wol Euler: there was a survey in a programmers' chatlist htat I subscribe to. Most of us read less than 2 non-work books per year

    Wol Euler: that is shameful.

Yakuzza Lethecus: i never read any books on my own until last year

    Wol Euler: wow

Yakuzza Lethecus: before that it was only for school

Wol Euler: so, this book: did you enjoy reading it?

    Yakuzza Lethecus: no

    Wol Euler: ah. why not?

Yakuzza Lethecus: because i never elaborated my reading

Yakuzza Lethecus: i never associated positive elemtents

Yakuzza Lethecus: i never tried to read loud and pronounce in a better way :)

Yakuzza Lethecus: there is a reason why i just sit around at science at play

Yakuzza Lethecus: i like listening to them

Wol Euler: well ... it should be enjoyable not an effort.

Yakuzza Lethecus: because they are devoted

Wol Euler: your written English is excellent, by the way.

    Yakuzza Lethecus: not right now

Yakuzza Lethecus: and even when i am not with my wireless keayobard i still have grammar issues

Wol Euler: many Americans of your age cannot speak English as well as you do.

Yakuzza Lethecus: yeah, i think my spoken english is better then my written

Yakuzza Lethecus: but that came also through gaming and watching tv shows in english

    Wol Euler nods

Yakuzza Lethecus: i watch dr house, the startrek series

    Wol Euler: :)

    Yakuzza Lethecus: pushing daisies

    Yakuzza Lethecus: not on tv

Yakuzza Lethecus: always when they were aired in the states

Yakuzza Lethecus: so i don't plan my day around the tv schedule

    Wol Euler: :)

Yakuzza Lethecus: there are still people planning they day after the tv magazines!

    Wol Euler: yep

Wol Euler: well, I plan my day to be here for PaB and meditation and meeting my friends ...

Wol Euler: but this is different to TV

Wol Euler: Yakuzza, I'm sorry but I must head to bed. It is late and I am tired. We old people need our sleep.

Yakuzza Lethecus: it's active its even stressful sometimes here and you care about what you do

Wol Euler: it was great getting to know you at last :)

Yakuzza Lethecus: yeah, i am also over my time

    Yakuzza Lethecus: good night!

    Wol Euler: güt's nächtle :)

    Yakuzza Lethecus: schlaf gut

    Wol Euler: danke, dir auch.
