The Guardian for this meeting was Eliza Madrigal, stepping into a newly open session which it would be wonderful for someone to volunteer to host each week. :) The comments are by Eliza joined by FcSeeker, Xirana, Korel, Arch, Susan, and Aphrodite.

    Eliza Madrigal: Hi FcSeeker :)
    FcSeeker Resident: hi Eliza
Eliza Madrigal: Hope you are well and happy today
FcSeeker Resident: hope the same to you
    Eliza Madrigal: Thanks :)
Eliza Madrigal: Nice to see (and read) that you enjoy the group so much
Eliza Madrigal: Have you also read some of the wiki, FcS? Former conversations etc?
FcSeeker Resident: sorry but I have not had time for that
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, that's okay... was just curious. When I first found PaB I plundered the wiki, so like to hear new observations
FcSeeker Resident: well...I have new observations all the time when I'm awake in human world
Eliza Madrigal: And here you have panda eyes?
FcSeeker Resident: what kind are panda eyes ?
Eliza Madrigal: not sure, thought you may know ^^
FcSeeker Resident: ...I take myself to be in human world also when I'm in SL...so ...
    Eliza Madrigal: :)

FcSeeker Resident: I'de prefere say that I dont have eyes at all
    Eliza Madrigal: interesting
FcSeeker Resident: meaning that I do not look 'around' with my eyes so much but the text...when I look at it...hard to describe how I use 'eyes'...
FcSeeker Resident: maybe there could be such av in SL that is just a bunch of eyes...
Eliza Madrigal: maybe! I bet so... everything seems to be here in some form or another
Eliza Madrigal: I do recall seeing someone with an eyeball avi
Eliza Madrigal: just a huge eye
    FcSeeker Resident: aha
FcSeeker Resident: yet; one eye can see only to one direction at the time
Eliza Madrigal: yes, I'm sure misses most of what there is to take in

    FcSeeker Resident: hi Xirana
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Xirana! Ltns
Xirana Oximoxi: hi Eliza and FC!!!
Eliza Madrigal: We've been talking about 'eyes' in SL, but please feel free to bring another topic if you like
    Xirana Oximoxi: 'eyes' ??? :))
    Eliza Madrigal: :)

    --BELL--

Xirana Oximoxi: I'm excited because I've rented a space to make my first exhibition in SL
    FcSeeker Resident: <3
Eliza Madrigal: What excellent news! Look forward to seeing that
Xirana Oximoxi: and, I've been learning how to 'create'... to put txtures and to hang the pictures on the wall:))
Eliza Madrigal: Do you have to design the space as well?
Xirana Oximoxi: I hate when a picture is not aligned... and here I think I have it not well done
Eliza Madrigal: there is an alignment feature in the tools... Storm is great using that and could teach you I'm sure
Xirana Oximoxi: no, it was a space ready for exhibitions... I think not a very famous place:)) I am alone:)
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, well maybe you will draw in others then :)
Xirana Oximoxi: ah great, I will try to ask him:)
Eliza Madrigal: Zen too, has been exhibiting for a while and I'm sure can help
Xirana Oximoxi: yes! I've thought about Zen :)
Xirana Oximoxi: I'm sure he knows all the secrets:)

Xirana Oximoxi: how are you both???
Eliza Madrigal: people love to share their skills in SL... this is one of my top five impressions of SL
    Xirana Oximoxi: oh great:)
Eliza Madrigal: that many people come simply to be generous
    Xirana Oximoxi: that's wonderful!
Eliza Madrigal: I guess that's a big part of what 'play' means? :))
    Eliza Madrigal is well, thanks
Xirana Oximoxi: yes... to share things with others is gratifiant..
Xirana Oximoxi: and now I must look for this wod in English:)) probable iit does not exst
    Eliza Madrigal: gratifying?
    Xirana Oximoxi: yes! rewarding too

Xirana Oximoxi: and what were you discussing about 'eyes'?
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, well I asked FcS if here in SL he had Panda eyes
Eliza Madrigal: wondering if pandas see the world differently :)
    Xirana Oximoxi: ahh :))

Eliza Madrigal: maybe we can discuss creativity?
Xirana Oximoxi: that's a nice topic:)
Xirana Oximoxi: I think SL is full of it
    Eliza Madrigal: agree!
Eliza Madrigal: do you feel that people are naturally creative or do we have to stir it up?
FcSeeker Resident: imo all of the people are creative
FcSeeker Resident: sure some skills can come better when stir it up
    FcSeeker Resident: hi Arch
Xirana Oximoxi: I think there are all kind of people... but mostly creative
    Xirana Oximoxi: in different field
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Arch :)
Xirana Oximoxi: one can be creative playing Football , or teaching, or painting...
Xirana Oximoxi: hi ARCH, NICE TO SEE YOU:)
Eliza Madrigal: maybe it is easy to see a painter or poet and call them creative....
Archmage Atlantis: I was listening to "the dog whisperer" program on national geographic tv
Archmage Atlantis: Adn it called me here
Eliza Madrigal: but yes people are creative in cleaning houses and cooking even the most basic of meals...
Eliza Madrigal: called you here Arch?
    Archmage Atlantis: yes

FcSeeker Resident: some painters and poets does 'monkey' the earlier art, so they are not creative...
    Eliza Madrigal: imitations, ah
FcSeeker Resident: meaning with their 'art'
Archmage Atlantis: the lession was to be calm, so the dogs understand
FcSeeker Resident: they sure are creative in something else
Eliza Madrigal: and yet one can learn a great deal by trying to replicate
Eliza Madrigal: until their own voice or gift emerges perhaps

    --BELL--

Xirana Oximoxi: welll I always learn and see my predecessors... I learn from them and try to find my way... imitation is how humans learn
FcSeeker Resident: and that's imo to be creative; that own voice or 'voice' rises for other to see or hear
    Archmage Atlantis: yes Xirana
Archmage Atlantis: we learn to love
Archmage Atlantis: or we learn to fight
Archmage Atlantis: My mother taught me to be

Eliza Madrigal paused with :::calmness::: in the 90 seconds just now, inspired by Arch

Archmage Atlantis: My grandmother taught my dad to be
Eliza Madrigal: a lineage of learning and in some ways imitation
Xirana Oximoxi: we learn to talk imitating the sound we hear too:)
Eliza Madrigal: once a took a painting class... it was hard for me because I liked to 'just see what happens' but the first assignment was to replicate....
Eliza Madrigal: and I did imitate the artist's tree... but when adding leaves, mine were so different
Archmage Atlantis: I have to go
Eliza Madrigal: it was the same but with a completely different movement
Eliza Madrigal: OK Arch, have a lovely day
Xirana Oximoxi: bye Arch, nice day
    Archmage Atlantis: Blessings and Namaste
    Eliza Madrigal: Blessings, Arch

    korel 8-13_001.jpg

    Korel Laloix: Ciao
    Eliza Madrigal: Ciao Korel :)
    Xirana Oximoxi: hi Korel:)
Eliza Madrigal: you're very fancy today Korel :)
    FcSeeker Resident: hi Korel
Eliza Madrigal: sophisticated, I love the look
Korel Laloix: I men's steampunk thing... and free... smiles
Eliza Madrigal: we've been talking about creativity, originality, and finding one's voice/gift
Korel Laloix: I am about as creative as a ham sandwhich.
Korel Laloix: On a good day.
    Eliza Madrigal: haha
    Xirana Oximoxi: :))
Eliza Madrigal: I can think that of myself too, when I compare myself to some

FcSeeker Resident: do yuo make all food as the recepie says ?
    FcSeeker Resident: hi Susan
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Susan :)
    iwandertoo Resident: waves
    Xirana Oximoxi: hello Susan:)
Eliza Madrigal: we're musing on creativity
Eliza Madrigal: I do follow the recipe until I know the dish well enough to be improvisational
    Eliza Madrigal: generally
FcSeeker Resident: so then you create the food
    iwandertoo Resident: hi xirana...long while
Xirana Oximoxi: yes Susan... nice to see you:)
Eliza Madrigal: well I mix it up
Korel Laloix: I follow the recipes as much as I can.
FcSeeker Resident: that's also to create
    Eliza Madrigal: interesting point

FcSeeker Resident: when ever you 'step out' of the recipe you create the food by yourself
iwandertoo Resident: my best friend cooks by taste. reads a recipe and morphs it
Eliza Madrigal: and it turns out well?
FcSeeker Resident: even if not, it's created by him/her
iwandertoo Resident: 99.9% of the time fantastic
FcSeeker Resident: somebody may like, somebody not
Eliza Madrigal: that's a gift though... some seem to come into the world knowing things already, that others of us have to learn?
    iwandertoo Resident: nods...I can't cook
FcSeeker Resident: many people creates also such sounds that even hurts me, but they call it to be 'music'...so; they have created even I dont like their creation

Xirana Oximoxi: lately cooking is also in the big Art fairs...
FcSeeker Resident: and that's good thing if nothing imo; bamboo made the new way again and again :)****
Eliza Madrigal: I'm not a great cook, but I can cook a few things well enough to be confident serving others
    Eliza Madrigal: :)) FcS
Xirana Oximoxi: like a catalan cook Ferran Adrià... he has won the first price of Berlin Biennale 2 or 3 years ago
Eliza Madrigal: I loved the Batali show where he traveled around SPain eating
    Eliza Madrigal: oh my goodness
    Eliza Madrigal: @@
Korel Laloix: There are very different kinds of crativity though.
    Xirana Oximoxi: yes, exactly:)

Korel Laloix: One of my exes is a multitalent.... sings, dances, acts, composes, paino, etc....
Korel Laloix: But if she gets in a bind with something going wrong, she is helpless.
Eliza Madrigal: she sees differently, maybe misses some things obvious to others
    Eliza Madrigal: practical things?
Eliza Madrigal: 'hears a different call'
Korel Laloix: Being practical was not one of Sama's strong points for sure.... smiles
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: I've met people too, who are creative in the way they appreciate.... they way they notice others

    --BELL--

Xirana Oximoxi: I go now... nice day to all and see you soon:)
Eliza Madrigal: Lovey to see you Xirana
Eliza Madrigal: look forward to your exhibit
    FcSeeker Resident: waves
Eliza Madrigal: How much longer? btw?
    Xirana Oximoxi: ok:)
    iwandertoo Resident: waves
Xirana Oximoxi: it was 4 weeks 240 linden... not expensive, I think:)
Eliza Madrigal: So we'll be invited soon?
    Korel Laloix: TAKE CARE
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Korel Laloix: Sorry for the caps
Xirana Oximoxi: yes... when all hangs well aligned:))
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
    Eliza Madrigal: OK yay
    Xirana Oximoxi: see you soon:)
Eliza Madrigal: 'when all hangs well aligned'... a creative spot :)
    FcSeeker Resident: waves
Eliza Madrigal: wasn't the first lightbulb made with part bamboo?
Korel Laloix: Have nto heard that one.
    Eliza Madrigal: ah, incandecent bulb:
Eliza Madrigal: of a Lightbulb 1809 - Humphry Davy, an English chemist, invented the first electric light. Davy connected two wires to a battery and attached a charcoal strip betwween the other ends of the wires. The charged carbon glowed making the first arc lamp
Korel Laloix: Looked it up... early filiment, carbonized bamboo.
    Korel Laloix: Intersting.
Eliza Madrigal: oh wait... wrong quote
    Eliza Madrigal: yes :)

Eliza Madrigal: there are gardens in Miami that have a grouping of several types of bamboo... amazing to stand in that spot and hear them play the winds
Korel Laloix: I do like a well tended garden.
Korel Laloix: Our garden has be struggling with the heat, but it is good.
Korel Laloix: Giving away a lot this year.
    FcSeeker Resident: brb
    Eliza Madrigal: large garden?
Eliza Madrigal: (didn't mean to whisper)
iwandertoo Resident: watching a thing grow...
    Eliza Madrigal: mmmm
Korel Laloix: THe lot is 6 achres.
iwandertoo Resident: and the vibrant colors
Korel Laloix: We tend two of it I think... and I mean mostly grandma by that.
Eliza Madrigal: that's quite a lot!
Korel Laloix: Most of that ist spreading out stuf like watermellon and pumpkins.
Eliza Madrigal: she must be dedicated
    Korel Laloix: Her hobby.
    iwandertoo Resident: hobby of life
Korel Laloix: But one pumpkin plant can take up 100 sqare yards easily.
    Eliza Madrigal: :) Susan
Eliza Madrigal wonders if she makes a nice pumpkin soup
Eliza Madrigal: it is a tough hobby in some ways... the heat, etc
iwandertoo Resident: a lot of afghani food with pumpking
    Eliza Madrigal: really?
    iwandertoo Resident: ×pumpkin
Korel Laloix: Yes. it is lovely.
    Korel Laloix: Pumkin bread.
    Korel Laloix: Pie.
    Korel Laloix: Cookies.
    Korel Laloix: Lovely stuff.
    iwandertoo Resident: simmered and spiced
    Eliza Madrigal: YUM
Korel Laloix: I am already sick of watermelon though.
    iwandertoo Resident: lol
Korel Laloix: SO we are giving that away.

Eliza Madrigal: that's the thing about a garden...have to use what it gives you
Eliza Madrigal: even if 90% turnips and 5% squash
Korel Laloix: THis year at least she went fo some yellow meat watermellon.
    iwandertoo Resident: loves turnips
Eliza Madrigal: :)) me too, fresh ones
Korel Laloix: I have only had it mashed.
Eliza Madrigal: yellow meat? I've never heard of that
Korel Laloix: Much better taste if you ask me.

    --BELL--

    Korel Laloix: And less seeds.
    iwandertoo Resident: have to go...waves
    FcSeeker Resident: waves
    Eliza Madrigal: Bye Susan :)
Eliza Madrigal: nice to see you
Eliza Madrigal: do you grow the same things every year generally?
FcSeeker Resident: (working with some pc probs)
Eliza Madrigal: I've only grown peppers and tomatoes, haven't done well with much else.. a few herbs
Korel Laloix: The same sorts of things.
Korel Laloix: Our spice bed is self seeding now.
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, OK FcS :)
Eliza Madrigal: that sounds intriguing... spice bed
Korel Laloix: Beans we can't grow without a lot of chemicals, so we don't.

Korel Laloix: WE just try different things from the seed bank.
Eliza Madrigal: so if something does well in the test area you move it to a large space?
    Korel Laloix: http://www.nativeseeds.org/
Eliza Madrigal: my grandfather has a bit of a garden but he doesn't stay in one place long enough to tend it well... he plants things, uses a drip line, then leaves , lol
    Eliza Madrigal clicking
Korel Laloix: We grow corn and squach/pumkins.
    Korel Laloix: Toms.
    Korel Laloix: Okra
Korel Laloix: SOme beans, but not a lot... just use Ivory liquid diluted as the bug spray and ladybugs.
Eliza Madrigal: "We promote the use of these ancient crops and their wild relatives "
    Korel Laloix: Potatoes.
    Eliza Madrigal: love that
    Korel Laloix: Devils claw
    Korel Laloix: Tobaco
Eliza Madrigal: I'm not a huge fan of okra, but what is devils claw?
Korel Laloix: Same family, you can eat it when it is very young.
Eliza Madrigal: in stews okra can be good but mostly people seem to deep fry it
Korel Laloix: Esle it gets very woody
    Eliza Madrigal: ah
Korel Laloix: I like it cast iron fried in spice cornmeal

Eliza Madrigal: it feels like we're (in modern society) so far away from basic knowledge
Korel Laloix: That is why we do Nativeseeds and our own garden
    Korel Laloix: https://www.nativeseeds.org/index.php/store/34/2/seeds/devils-claw
Eliza Madrigal: always amazes me to eat from someone's garden, how different the same food tastes from place to place
    Eliza Madrigal clicking
Korel Laloix: That is so true.
Korel Laloix: brb.... at work on Saturday.

    Aphrodite Macbain: Hello everyone
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Aphrodite :)
Eliza Madrigal: nice to see you
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Zon :)
Aphrodite Macbain: Nice to be here on this sunny day
Eliza Madrigal: wow... pretty dress Aph
Aphrodite Macbain: Thanks Eliza. I bought it yesterday to celebrate
    Eliza Madrigal: celebrate?
    Aphrodite Macbain: yes.
Aphrodite Macbain: being alive on this beautiful planet
    Eliza Madrigal: yay!
Eliza Madrigal: but if you celebrate that every day it will cost a lot
    Eliza Madrigal: heheh
    Aphrodite Macbain: hehe
Aphrodite Macbain: true but I have many ways of celebrating
    Eliza Madrigal: TRUE

Aphrodite Macbain: I also had to celebrate having a root canal and surviving!
    Eliza Madrigal: ack!
Eliza Madrigal: that one is no fun
Eliza Madrigal: but celebrate having teeth I guess
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Aphrodite Macbain: Very painful, tiring and expensive-$1300!!
    Eliza Madrigal: ouch
Aphrodite Macbain: Now I have to get a crown put on it which will cost another 1000
    Eliza Madrigal: no dental insurance?
Aphrodite Macbain: tyhank god for Blue Cross
    Eliza Madrigal: ah
    Eliza Madrigal: nods
Aphrodite Macbain: yes they pay 70%
Korel Laloix: I can get dental stuff done from the tribe, but as it is free, you get what you pay for.
Eliza Madrigal: :)) like back in the old days....
Aphrodite Macbain: hmmm. Not good dentists?
    Korel Laloix: Hit or miss.

    --BELL--

Korel Laloix: And don't need something after June either.
Aphrodite Macbain: oh. yes. I went to a specialist who used a magnifying binoculars to work on my teeth as they have to find the tny nerves
    FcSeeker Resident: b
    Eliza Madrigal: ooooooo
    FcSeeker Resident: Hi Aphrodite
    Aphrodite Macbain: b?
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hello Fc
Aphrodite Macbain: Good to see you sitting there
FcSeeker Resident: (was away for pc trouble)
    Korel Laloix: Sounds very painful.
    Aphrodite Macbain: all fixed now?
    FcSeeker Resident: yes
Eliza Madrigal: I have to get going for a bit, thanks for a nice conversation today everyone... hope to be back later
    FcSeeker Resident: hi Zon too
    FcSeeker Resident: waves
Eliza Madrigal waves and is hungry... wants pumpkin soup or cookies
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
    FcSeeker Resident: bon apetite
    Aphrodite Macbain: mmmm pumpkin soup!
Eliza Madrigal: yes... heading for Korel's gramma's garden
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: Bye for now :))
    Aphrodite Macbain: hehe
Korel Laloix: Please do some weeding for us please.

Aphrodite Macbain: Eliza - Girish shouts boo in your ear
Eliza Madrigal: haha... Oh forgot about him in IM
    Eliza Madrigal: hahahah
    Eliza Madrigal: oops
Aphrodite Macbain: He laughts Eliza, and says good
    Eliza Madrigal is apologizing
    Eliza Madrigal: hah
Aphrodite Macbain: OK I'm going to stop being translator
Aphrodite Macbain: and leave you to your IMs
Eliza Madrigal: K, thanks for that
    Eliza Madrigal: hah
Aphrodite Macbain: I've just become a member of perfect paradise :-)
Eliza Madrigal: Oh.. took their test eh?
    Aphrodite Macbain: nice sim
    Korel Laloix: Odd sim that.
    Eliza Madrigal: yes, both
    Aphrodite Macbain: yes
    Eliza Madrigal laughs

    Aphrodite Macbain: how odd Korel?
Korel Laloix: They have had some strange internal strife
Korel Laloix: With people getting baned and kicked out.
    Aphrodite Macbain: Oh. too bad
Korel Laloix: And mass spams berating other members.
Korel Laloix: I finally quit it.
Eliza Madrigal: they do have some drama... but also a lot of warmth
Aphrodite Macbain: wonder why. They have some strict rules about what you wear and how you behave
Eliza Madrigal: girish is sweet, and that's where I met sunshine
Aphrodite Macbain: no bling, bare feet, no rezzing of stuff
Aphrodite Macbain: yes, people know sunshine there
Korel Laloix: Not sure, it was just odd.
Korel Laloix: I guess I need to give it another try.
    Aphrodite Macbain: yes.
Aphrodite Macbain: I haven't been to any event there yet

Aphrodite Macbain: Is that where you meditate Eliza?
Eliza Madrigal: no.... Zen Retreat is where I used to hold meditations
Korel Laloix: The first time I went it was for what turned out to be a Tantric Sex lecture.... lol
    Aphrodite Macbain: oh right
    Eliza Madrigal: heheh Korel
Eliza Madrigal: sorry to miss that one
    Eliza Madrigal giggles
Aphrodite Macbain: tantric sex in SL. Hmmm
    Aphrodite Macbain: sounds fascinating!
Korel Laloix: I just got there for the last bit of it.
Korel Laloix: And it was not that interesting.
Eliza Madrigal: they have an interesting idea
    Eliza Madrigal: of being shipwrecked
Eliza Madrigal: and starting from scratch

Aphrodite Macbain: I suppose when you talk about things it may not be as interesting as doing them
    Eliza Madrigal: one hopes
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Korel Laloix: Good point.
Korel Laloix: And it seemed to be a rather penis centered talk.
Korel Laloix: So... trying a new word her.
    Korel Laloix: Phalocentric?
Korel Laloix: Is that right?... lol
    Eliza Madrigal: ah, yes
Eliza Madrigal: much of the world is, heheh
Aphrodite Macbain: yes, I like the idea of starting again but with knowledge and experience- I'm talking about PP not Tantric sex (
    Eliza Madrigal nods
Eliza Madrigal: yes just being silly
Eliza Madrigal: they've also had sustainability lectures
    Korel Laloix: Try both.
    Aphrodite Macbain: Ok I will!
    Aphrodite Macbain: environmental sustainability?
Eliza Madrigal: yes... for a while that was a big interest
Aphrodite Macbain: Fc have yu ever been to perfect paradise?
Eliza Madrigal: but has sort of fallen by the wayside it seems
Eliza Madrigal: anyway... I better go
    Eliza Madrigal: Bye!!!!
    Korel Laloix: Take care.
    Aphrodite Macbain: Bye
Aphrodite Macbain: Bye! Eliza. I'd love to spend time talking again. Bon appetit
Aphrodite Macbain: I think I might visit PP right now and see what's happening
    FcSeeker Resident: waves
    Korel Laloix: OK... take are.
    Korel Laloix: care
    Aphrodite Macbain: Bye
Aphrodite Macbain: Bye! Fc and Korel
