The Guardian for this meeting was Wester Kiranov. The comments are by Wester Kiranov.

There were two conversations, one with Paradise Tennant about resting in the space between thought and non-thought, and one with milakel Resident about the best way to deal with nasty peroxided men. I enjoy having such different topics here.

Zaldaan Sirnah was there as well but he didn't say much.

    Wester Kiranov: hi zaldaan
Zaldaan Sirnah: Hi. I'm actually mostly afk. Here for the environment of conversation
    Wester Kiranov: that's fine
    Wester Kiranov: hi paradise
Paradise Tennant: smiles hiya wester a pleasure to meet you :)
    --BELL--
    Paradise Tennant: smiles and listens
Wester Kiranov: this is usually a quiet slot :-)
Paradise Tennant: smiles :) what would you like to talk about :)
Paradise Tennant: or do you prefer just to sit ?
Wester Kiranov: Silence is as welcome as talk, and talk is as welcome as silence
Wester Kiranov: so it's up to you :-P
    Paradise Tennant: smiles ok :)
Paradise Tennant: we could talk about silence :) read a very good quote :)
    Wester Kiranov: tell me
Paradise Tennant: Break off the way of speech. Destroy the place of thinking. Awaken the mind to no-mind. Find silence and ... sudden understanding.
Wester Kiranov: nice. It's also a nice one to look at and see if the opposite is true too
    Paradise Tennant: yes :)
Paradise Tennant: suspect though that thinking is often distraction we seem to think same the thoughts over and over again
    Wester Kiranov: that's true
Wester Kiranov: but that doesn't mean that not-thinking is the answer
Paradise Tennant: :) maybe thinking skillfully is the answer :)
Wester Kiranov: it does help :)
Paradise Tennant: what else helps :) ?
Wester Kiranov: and finding the spaces inbetween thinking and not-thinking
Paradise Tennant: spacious pause .. the brink of a thought or non thought :)
    Paradise Tennant: ;)))
    Wester Kiranov: :)
    --BELL--
    Wester Kiranov: The brink of a non-thought. That's a nice non-image.
Paradise Tennant: smiles do you find you are able to rest in that space ? :)
Wester Kiranov: sometimes. sometimes you have to keep going back. and of course, often you just forget
Wester Kiranov: which is why it is nice to come here occasionally to be reminded
Paradise Tennant: nods yes it is easy to be swept away
    milakel Resident: hi :)
Paradise Tennant: hiya milakel :) nice to see you :)
    milakel Resident: zal wins
milakel Resident: *looks at the black box*
Paradise Tennant: we are talking of resting in the space between thought and non thought :) :)
    Wester Kiranov: hi mila
milakel Resident: para, like in a dream? :)
Paradise Tennant: yes the waking and nonwaking varieties :)
    Wester Kiranov: :)
milakel Resident: i've learned yesterday that while we sleep serotonin is being produce, which affects our feelings (happy, hungry, sad)
milakel Resident: no wonder why sleep deprived people are rather indifferent
Wester Kiranov: so how is that different from when we're awake?
    milakel Resident: what is different?
Wester Kiranov: is serotonin only produced when we're asleep, or when we're awake too?
milakel Resident: mostly when we sleep
Wester Kiranov: btw, have a seat
milakel Resident: i'm fine, thanks :)
Paradise Tennant: smiles going to say thank you and good night - really late here I should be producing serotonin :)) was nice to meet you wester and a pleasure to see you again milakel .. take care zal :)
    milakel Resident: night, para :)
    Wester Kiranov: bye para
milakel Resident: enjoy the in-between state :)
milakel Resident: oh my, what lovely dress :)
Paradise Tennant: smiles namaste my friends :)
    --BELL--
milakel Resident: wester, how things are in holland?
Wester Kiranov: in holland in general, or at my place? :)
    milakel Resident: both :)
Wester Kiranov: at my place things are fine. The children just had their first swimming lesson, and I thought they did well
    milakel Resident: :)
Wester Kiranov: I'm not that much in touch with the rest of holland at the moment, I'm afraid.
milakel Resident: heh, it's so tiny :)
    --BELL--
Wester Kiranov: how are things with you?
milakel Resident: hard not to be in touch :)
milakel Resident: i'm good... yet have a few undisclosed issues at the moment :)
milakel Resident: isn't that nationalist guy taking over the government any time soon?
    milakel Resident: forgot his name
    milakel Resident: "geert"?
    Wester Kiranov: wilders, you mean
    milakel Resident: ah, yes
    Wester Kiranov: the peroxide guy
milakel Resident: he's rather popular from what i heard
    Wester Kiranov: he's frighteningly popular
Wester Kiranov: and he scares the heck out of me
milakel Resident: fear is the best friend of a politician
    milakel Resident: especially his kind
Wester Kiranov: well, he's very good at working with it
Wester Kiranov: I guess i shouldn't let his kind gte to me
milakel Resident: yea, it's sad to see this happening all over
Wester Kiranov: but, then it can also help to keep you on your toes
milakel Resident: canadians managed to elect conservatives who now pushing the bill that allows to eavesdrop on citizens online without court order
Wester Kiranov: instead of this cosy feeling that here in holland we have no problem with the racists
Wester Kiranov: the thing is, it is awful, but there is so little i can do about it
Wester Kiranov: and it depresses me to keep in touch with polictics
milakel Resident: i guess it's not like it was in the time of inquisition when many scientists found refuge in holland from the blood-hunger church
milakel Resident: who else can do if not you?
Wester Kiranov: you're right, of course
Wester Kiranov: but then, i also have limited energy, as does everybody. and is this really what i want to spend it on?
milakel Resident: it may be too late when you ask this question
Wester Kiranov: but then, of course staying in touch is important as well, even if you don't actively do anything about it
milakel Resident: perhaps many people thought the same (why bother) while hitler was climbing up the ladder
Wester Kiranov: i'm sure they did
milakel Resident: ok, i've just once again proved the godwin's law :)
milakel Resident: "Godwin's Rule of Nazi Analogies"
milakel Resident: still true after almost 70 years
Wester Kiranov: yes, you demonstrated it well :)
    --BELL--
Wester Kiranov: although I'm sure that just after the war it wasn't true yet. still too fresh
Wester Kiranov: I have to go. bye mila, bye zal
    milakel Resident: swim well :)
    milakel Resident: meep!

So easy to forget or underestimate the hugely important and awe inspiring commitment of parent's toward the young developing human beings in their care, and the amazing outcomes that in turn has on human society. First the children learn to swim and feel a part of things, later society not only stays afloat, but moves with confident healthy strokes... all because mother or father (or guardian) cared, and put in the time and energy. Three cheers for parents!
