stevenaia Michinaga: hi Raffila
Raffila Millgrove: hi Steve
stevenaia Michinaga: how are you?
Raffila Millgrove: i won at the group Greedy today. two weeks in a row.. wow. i played so bad for.. such a long time.. and finally i got some coaching and can win now~
Raffila Millgrove: i don't mind.. not winning. but i .. hate playing poorly. super to finally "get it".
stevenaia Michinaga: group Greedy?
Raffila Millgrove: my group.. plays greedy every Sunday ..
stevenaia Michinaga: never heard of it
Raffila Millgrove: i go and wow i just couldn't play well.. at all. just sit there very stupid. week after week.
Raffila Millgrove: oh you never played.. really fun game.
Raffila Millgrove: big table. eight seats.. you are rolling dice.. a bit like.. poker.. like yahztee.. you know you hold dice and try to roll for points..
stevenaia Michinaga: hmm, been weening myself off of games lately, I have one of those easily distracted personalities
Raffila Millgrove: ah. well i like to do it.. i think of it as focussing. instead of distracting.
stevenaia Michinaga: especially if it's fun
stevenaia Michinaga: :)
Raffila Millgrove: yeah wow.. isn't fun great?
Raffila Millgrove: you don't like to have fun?
stevenaia Michinaga: well I have fun as much as possible
Raffila Millgrove: me too.
stevenaia Michinaga: hence Play as Being = fun
stevenaia Michinaga: Hello Cal
Raffila Millgrove: long ago my son was in elementary school and he was supposed to interview someone.. so.. he interviews me and asks "how would you like to be remembered?" he was so surprised.. he thought i was say.. some heavy thing--some "lesson" to be learned. .but i said.. "remembered as 'really fun'". lol
Calvino Rabeni: Hi, Stev, Raff :)
Raffila Millgrove: hi Cal
stevenaia Michinaga: hmmm, nice, I would jsut like to be remembered :)
Calvino Rabeni: Like me to take the log, stev?
stevenaia Michinaga: sure, feel free
Raffila Millgrove: hehe steve. well now i really don't care one way or another. about being remembered. it's enough to have lasted and lived.
stevenaia Michinaga: thought I'd claim it until you arrived
stevenaia Michinaga: just in case
Calvino Rabeni: Thanks!
Raffila Millgrove: how do you want to be "remembered" cal?
stevenaia Michinaga: (should someone ask)
Calvino Rabeni: "not lazy" "not crazy" "had a wit every now and then"
Calvino Rabeni: that's version 1.0 :)
Raffila Millgrove: nice!
stevenaia Michinaga: actually, I would appreciate a smile at the mention of my name, that would be a lovely enough
--BELL--
Raffila Millgrove: what is the geometric. the 3D word for triangle?
Raffila Millgrove: it is triangle?
stevenaia Michinaga: tetrahedron?
Raffila Millgrove: gosh i dunno. Anyway my mom had a 3d triangle nose.
stevenaia Michinaga: pyamid
Raffila Millgrove: and what i remember most about her.. was how she'd do this heavy work. standing on a ladder. like painting the ceiling.. on the hottest day of year.
stevenaia Michinaga: is this a crossword puzzle question
stevenaia Michinaga: oh
Raffila Millgrove: and she would have this tiny drop of sweat.. roll down forehead.. go down nose and then just sit there on very tip of nose.. and you'd wait longest time to see it drop off.. it always made me laugh. when i think of her. .that's often what i see.. that little drop poised on tip of nose.
Raffila Millgrove: why she would wait til hottest day of year to get up on the ladder for these paint jobs etc.. i have no idea.. but it's what i remember.
stevenaia Michinaga: I'm sure she wouldn't have said "I want to be remembered as that"
Raffila Millgrove: yeah. it makes me think what are my children going to remember. i have good idea of some pretty weird stuff they will recall.
Raffila Millgrove: it's ok. what you find "funny" and endearing.. that is ok by me.
Raffila Millgrove: i don't think my mom minds that i think of her that way.. it is what a hard worker she was and so strong.
Raffila Millgrove: i remember her in her working clothes.. digging up tree roots in the back yard at 75.. like it was nothing.
Calvino Rabeni: Mine is doing well in her 80's for that same reason
Raffila Millgrove: yeah! that heavy gardning is very good for your health.
Calvino Rabeni: if you want health and longevity, grow your own vegetables
stevenaia Michinaga: my parents had had some recent medical problem, but my dad retired last june at 81
Raffila Millgrove: yes and then eat them too. what kind of vege does your granny grow, Cal?
Calvino Rabeni: mother ... you name it, almost, hard to recall I think it was 39 things last year
Raffila Millgrove: Korel's step granny grows some wonderful veges. she was telling us about helping her big garden. 39! wow
Calvino Rabeni: multiple varieties of some things like beans
Raffila Millgrove: my mother in law is 91. and she swims almost every day and does weight training. she's in super health.
stevenaia Michinaga: wow
Calvino Rabeni: let's see... artichoke, 4 beans, raspberry, blueberry, strawberry, fig, apple, plum, asparagus, brussel sprouts, eggplant, peppermint, onions, garlic, carrot, corn, cabbage, tomato, fennel, parsnips, peas, potatoes, white squash, yellow squash, turban squash, zucchini, lettuce, amaranth, arugula, parsley, chive, spinach, mild pepper, hot pepper
Calvino Rabeni: I'm probably drawing a blank on something obvious
Raffila Millgrove: oh wow... that sounds so good! fig, berries, plum. wow i love those.
Raffila Millgrove: and home grown asparagus and brussels are nothing like store bought.
Calvino Rabeni: I have 3 bottles of plum wine, from the tree, courtesy of Lucinda
Raffila Millgrove: oh? do you live by her? she made the wine?
Calvino Rabeni: the brussels over-winter through freezing weather
Calvino Rabeni: it's not so far away, her husband likes brewing all kinds of things
Calvino Rabeni: fermentation is fascination
Raffila Millgrove: Storm was telling us about mead.. and special kind he would have when he was in England.
Santoshima Resident: friendly greetings
stevenaia Michinaga: hi San
Santoshima Resident: hi
Raffila Millgrove: hi San
Calvino Rabeni: good evening Santo !
Santoshima Resident: are you all enjoying plum wine?
Raffila Millgrove: Cal said Luci's husband made wine from his mom's plums.
Calvino Rabeni: it needs to age a few years

Lucinda Lavender: I will ask husband:)
Lucinda Lavender: were they calling...drink me?
Lucinda Lavender: thinking of Alice in Wonderland
Lucinda Lavender: brb
Calvino Rabeni: would I get bigger or smaller?
Lucinda Lavender: yes it is ready since you tasted some a christmas..
stevenaia Michinaga: probably depends on how much you drink
Calvino Rabeni: :)
Lucinda Lavender: but the question is also are you ready for it?
Calvino Rabeni: No, not yet
Lucinda Lavender: :)
Lucinda Lavender: the date for harvesting the dandelions is April 23
Lucinda Lavender: St Georges day:)
Lucinda Lavender: I thought it tasted great
Lucinda Lavender: Cinda passes tastes all round:)
Calvino Rabeni: Speaking of tastes, I tried that television series you mentioned, Cinda ... the guy who has two lives and two therapists who each claim the other one is unreal
--BELL--
Lucinda Lavender: Luci is thinking oh good! and then trying to drop that...
Lucinda Lavender: so curious to hear your thoughts
stevenaia Michinaga: what was it called Awakenings?
Lucinda Lavender: Awake
Lucinda Lavender: Awakenings was a movie from some time back I think
Calvino Rabeni: well, the premise was so intriguing that I let it in .. it turned out to be a trojan horse, and a serial killer got into my house that way :)
Lucinda Lavender: whoa...how do you mean?
stevenaia Michinaga: awww ok
Raffila Millgrove: i think Cal's in good shape for the "wit" to be remembered. lol. good one~
Lucinda Lavender: a dream one you mean?
Calvino Rabeni: A fictional one ... got into my imagination through the TV
Calvino Rabeni: I usually don't watch dramas that have a murderer every week
Calvino Rabeni: although I realize most of them do
Lucinda Lavender: me either...but I focus more on other parts of it I guess
Calvino Rabeni: and I used up 2 meditation sessions with that serial killer, just worrying about it all
Calvino Rabeni: now he's after the wife
Santoshima Resident: oh dear ...
Lucinda Lavender: Hi Paradise:)
stevenaia Michinaga: hi Paradise
Calvino Rabeni: Para !
Santoshima Resident: evening Paradise :)
stevenaia Michinaga: gtsy

Paradise Tennant: smiles hello luci cal san stev raf :) nice to see everyone :) happy easter :)
Calvino Rabeni: yes, they went viral in there !
Lucinda Lavender: Happy dDay to you:)
Lucinda Lavender: wow! fertile topic then
Lucinda Lavender: then
Calvino Rabeni: Or it could be because I've been reading the complete Grimm's Brother's fairy tales before bed
Calvino Rabeni: and there's no lack of wicked in those
Lucinda Lavender: ah that too...
Calvino Rabeni: Even the best ones ...often have serial killers
Calvino Rabeni: oh well, i guess things don't change :)
Paradise Tennant: likes fairy tales
Paradise Tennant: and kid's literature in general .. there are some wonderful stories
Santoshima Resident: what's your favorite?
Raffila Millgrove: hi Paradise. sorry.. i was afk a few there.
Santoshima Resident: ok ... too personal ..nix that question
Raffila Millgrove: eh?
Raffila Millgrove: you think what's your fav fairy tale is too personal San?
Lucinda Lavender: thinking about a dream I had once...
Santoshima Resident: it's a joke, raff
Raffila Millgrove: i like one by Hans Christian Anderson but i cannot remember title. that's why i didn't answer.
Raffila Millgrove: oh sorry.
Lucinda Lavender: in a library a professor handed me a book which I opened and found a red dot sticker next to the name Ted Bundy....end of dream
Lucinda Lavender: oops here is the dream ..above
Raffila Millgrove: wow.. I fear this session will get titled, "Serial Killers"
Raffila Millgrove snickers
Lucinda Lavender: the thought can shake one to the core
--BELL--
Raffila Millgrove tiptoes out.
Calvino Rabeni waves silently
Calvino Rabeni: There are likely many thousands of fairy tales that haven't yet been discovered
Calvino Rabeni: (if that's a word for it)
Calvino Rabeni: a new batch was recently dug up
Calvino Rabeni: http://www.periscopepost.com/2012/03/a-cache-of-hidden-fairy-tales-revealed-500-new-cinderellas/

Lucinda Lavender: felt like a warning...and completely disconnected from my life

Paradise Tennant: wonder how something like that happens to someone .. how they become like that
Lucinda Lavender: am looking it up in the journal
Paradise Tennant: funny I was reading mine today too
Paradise Tennant: found it when I was cleaning up :)
Paradise Tennant: for some reason when I wirte fresh out of a dream may handwriting is terrible . just a scrawl
Paradise Tennant: lol only marginally than mine typing it seems :)
Lucinda Lavender: ah...93 August
Calvino Rabeni: I have a hard time reading my writing under those conditions also
Lucinda Lavender: some how powerful affect it has...the topic
Lucinda Lavender: power involved
--BELL--
Paradise Tennant: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Bundy
Calvino Rabeni is afraid to click that link :(
Paradise Tennant: there is always something wrong with the eyes of people who have that horrible affliction
Paradise Tennant: their eyes never look right to me
Santoshima Resident: me, too ...
Paradise Tennant: they are profoundly crazy
Santoshima Resident: will pass on that link
Paradise Tennant: should maybe cut it out of the log cal it is pretty scary
Calvino Rabeni thinks of a diversionary, well, diversion :)
Calvino Rabeni: there's a google game
Paradise Tennant: loves games
Calvino Rabeni: you type "calvino is" into google and see what comes up
Calvino Rabeni: (substitute your name)
Calvino Rabeni: I get -
"Calvino is a fictional Bangkok-based private eye created by ...I have a suspicion that Calvino is dreaming all this, for he writes like a bookish, near-sighted man who has mislaid his glasses: objects held close-to are vividly ..."
Paradise Tennant: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vincent_Calvino
Paradise Tennant: smiles
Calvino Rabeni: And found some good "Lucinda" results also
Lucinda Lavender: :! must look that up too...
Calvino Rabeni:
"Lucinda is the sunlight ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfJsIb7dm0k
Lucinda is a teen-aged Australian heiress who has an almost desperate desire to liberate her sex from the confines of the male-dominated culture of the ..."
Calvino Rabeni: (oops, should I strike that one from the log?)
Calvino Rabeni: "Lucinda is horrified" (next "hit")
Santoshima Resident: :)
Lucinda Lavender: :) fine...
Paradise Tennant: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3DWGPaUPBk
Paradise Tennant: I get a song :)
Storm Nordwind says Hi, but will sit quietly :)
Calvino Rabeni: Good evening Storm
Santoshima Resident: evening Storm :)
Paradise Tennant: hiya storm we are playing a game :) you type your name into google an see what comes up storm is
Calvino Rabeni:
"Lucinda is an alchemist of sorts. Her unique style distills the deepest qualities of island life. It translates into a positive feeling that emanates from.."
Storm Nordwind: Oh OK!
Storm Nordwind: RL name or SL? ;)
Paradise Tennant: we've been doing our sl names
Calvino Rabeni:
"Lightness for Calvino is identified with such properties as mobility, agility of spirit, knowledge of the world, subtlety, multiplicity, the precariousness of things as ..."
Storm Nordwind uses DuckDuckGo, not Google, and finds as the second entry (the meteorological disturbance on Wikipedia is the first entry):
"Storm is a mutant with the ability to perceive and manipulate the forces and elements that govern weather, making her incredibly powerful." ;-D
Lucinda Lavender: :))
Paradise Tennant: duckduckgo lol
Paradise Tennant: love that name :)
Lucinda Lavender: enjoy all this exploration tonight
Paradise Tennant:
"Celt Experience Native Storm is a light beer that packs heavy flavour"
Storm Nordwind chuckles
Paradise Tennant: smiles that what comes up high on the list in google.ca :)
--BELL--
Lucinda Lavender: lost power a moment there
Storm Nordwind:
"Calvino began his career as a communist, but in 1957, resigned from the party. About Portraits by Lucinda "The Spirit always stands still long enough for the photographer it has chosen." Cheeseburger in Paradise - Chain owned by Jimmy Buffett. Santoshi Ma has emerged within the lifetimes of many of her devotees. So, an outsider might call her a new goddess, a pop culture sensation legitimized by her acceptance into the more institutionalized forms of worship."
Paradise Tennant: :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLlsnjWAeJI
Paradise Tennant: this is what I get for san :))
Calvino Rabeni: Mind's a bit of a search engine, aggregating miscellaneous impressions and records by inscrutable criteria
Calvino Rabeni: I got 2 "hits" on "the value of silence" today
Calvino Rabeni: One from SL provided this story:
A young man went into analysis because of various difficulties with relationships, a number of somatic symptoms and sexual disturbance, etc. After the therapist told him the basic principles he lay down on the couch and said nothing for the rest of the session. He came to the next one and for a few months acted in exactly the same way. Then in one particular session, he finally broke his silence and said, “where not there yet, but it's getting better." After that he fell silent again and after another few months in which he said not a single word he stood up at the end of one meeting, declare that he was feeling well today, and that believed he was cured. He thanked his therapist and left. A question for discussion, what did therapist represent for the patient and what are the implications for therapeutic practice?
Storm Nordwind: (1) We may never know. (2) Listening and waiting are good.
Paradise Tennant: hmmm
Paradise Tennant: sometimes being in the proximity of understanding or caring is enough :))
Paradise Tennant: time does the rest
Lucinda Lavender: :)
Calvino Rabeni: time and a sort of commitment...waiting, but in the right way ?
Santoshima Resident: witnessing and presence
Calvino Rabeni: yes !
Paradise Tennant: yes kind of like letting bad weather blow through you :)
Storm Nordwind: For all we know, waiting was simply the right way to earn a fee. The motives are unclear from the story.
Calvino Rabeni: yes Para, taking some of the dust and cob webs along with it
Paradise Tennant: also think no matter the nature of the experience there is something to be gained by it
Calvino Rabeni: yes Para
Paradise Tennant: brb ..going for a popsicle
Calvino Rabeni: I remember trying to get my counselor to rest in silence for half an hour, but it seemed, he felt he had to do something to earn the fee, so I relented and let him go on
--BELL--
Lucinda Lavender: brb writing dates on the eggs...to put in fridge
Storm Nordwind: Sorry to hear that Cal. :(
Lucinda Lavender: 5 eggs today!
Paradise Tennant: smiles at luci happy chickens
Calvino Rabeni: A bumper crop !
Lucinda Lavender: yes
Calvino Rabeni: green?
Paradise Tennant: think forgetting
Paradise Tennant: is as important as remembering
Calvino Rabeni: forgetting, the underrated capability, yes
Calvino Rabeni: a skill to be cultivated
Paradise Tennant: yes!
Storm Nordwind: And the second thing that happens anyway as you get older :)
Santoshima Resident: really
Paradise Tennant: what is the first thing?
Storm Nordwind: I forget
Calvino Rabeni: He forgot
Paradise Tennant: lol
Santoshima Resident: :))
Calvino Rabeni: walked into that one eh?
Paradise Tennant: nods
Lucinda Lavender: what "should" we remember then?...maybe how things get formed...my mind says
Paradise Tennant: yes
Zon Kwan: hi
Santoshima Resident: hi Zon
Paradise Tennant: I think letting go of the negative or plain forgetting it .. is a good plan
Paradise Tennant: brings back some of the strength of childhood that strength being a fresh mind :) an open exploring wonderment
Calvino Rabeni: Today a friend told me "The wise man learns more from the fool than the fool learns from the wise man"
Calvino Rabeni: So I told him, "It's my privilege to be your educator!"
Santoshima Resident: :)
Paradise Tennant: lol
Storm Nordwind waits to hear the further reply... :)
Lucinda Lavender: I think of something I read recently about marrying the field...
Storm Nordwind: Remembering wonder! There's a should, if ever there was one :)
Lucinda Lavender: what is deeply interesting...
Lucinda Lavender: yes
Paradise Tennant: marrying the field ?
Lucinda Lavender: this came from a Robert Moss Dream Blog I think
Lucinda Lavender: I just like the words
Lucinda Lavender: will look for a link
Calvino Rabeni: That's right on topic, CInda
Paradise Tennant: http://blog.beliefnet.com/dreamgates/2011/01/the-courage-to-create-1.html
Paradise Tennant:
The poet marries the language, and out of this marriage the poem is born.” This beautiful, passionate statement was made by W.H. Auden and it takes us right inside the crucible in which all creative action is born. It’s sexy, it’s spiritual, it makes your heart beat faster, it puts a champagne fizz of excitement into the air. It suffuses everything around with incredible light, so you feel you are seeing the curve of a flower stem or the bubbles in a glass for the very first time. Calvino Rabeni: Right inside the crucible .. wonderful quote
Paradise Tennant: a wonderful blog
Calvino Rabeni:
"One is engaged ... and carried along, not in spite of oneself, but beyond oneself. That is, the self, aware in middle mode, bursts the compartmenting of mind, body, and external world"
Lucinda Lavender: smiling
Calvino Rabeni: This reminds me of the "marrying the field" that Cinda proposed, and was sitting on the table to the right of me in that quote. I like it and, I think "burst" injects quite a bit of drama into what could otherwise be a common story.
--BELL--
Lucinda Lavender: sigh
Paradise Tennant:
What is your field? It’s not work in the ordinary sense, or what your diplomas say you are certified to do, or how you describe yourself in a job resume – although it can encompass all of those things. Your field is where you ache to be. Your field is what you will do, day or night, for the sheer joy of the doing, without counting the cost or the consequences. Your field is the territory within which you can do The Work that your deeper life is calling you to do Read more: http://blog.beliefnet.com/dreamgates/2011/01/the-courage-to-create-1.html#ixzz1rVpxWGqG
Lucinda Lavender:
When you are so deep in the Zone that no move can be wrong. Depending on your choice of theme and direction, you may find you are joined by other creative intelligences, reaching to you from across time and dimensions in that blessed union that another poet, Yeats, defined as the “mingling of minds”. Paradise Tennant: smiles
Lucinda Lavender: HI Zon:)
Paradise Tennant: often think that we little channelers for some kind of bigger creativity
Paradise Tennant: when I get idea it always feels like a good gift
Calvino Rabeni: nods I know what you mean
Calvino Rabeni: Thanks everyone for the quotes and log entries, and unpredictable but harmonious contributions
Santoshima Resident: night everybody
Calvino Rabeni: Today was the first warm day of the season
Paradise Tennant: nite nite san
Calvino Rabeni: good night, Santo
Lucinda Lavender: sleep well San
Santoshima Resident: sweet dreams
Paradise Tennant: nite ntie luci :)
