The Guardian for this meeting was Korel Laloix. If there were any comments, they would have been by Korel Laloix...smiles.
Raffila Millgrove: hi San, Korel.
Korel Laloix: Osiho
Korel Laloix: Osiyo
Korel Laloix: Going to be one of those typing days again today I see.
Santoshima Resident: hello to you both
Raffila Millgrove: how does that sound Korel when you speak it. is it oh see yo
Santoshima Resident: type once, appears twice, Korel?
Korel Laloix: O' see yhoooo'
Raffila Millgrove: ah
Raffila Millgrove: cool.
Raffila Millgrove tries saying it outloud. What does that mean?
Korel Laloix: Depending on the dialect and whom you are saying it to and context of course.
Korel Laloix: Hello
Raffila Millgrove: easy to remember cause it sounds like.. oh.. see you
Korel Laloix: In Tsalagi and a few other First American languages.
Korel Laloix: Heya Frenchie
Frenchie Riverstone: hi :)
Raffila Millgrove: hello Frenchie
Santoshima Resident: hi Frenchie
Frenchie Riverstone: :)
Raffila Millgrove: oh you say First American now. oh i like that.
Raffila Millgrove: i will use it then.
Korel Laloix: I preffer that.
Raffila Millgrove: yes it seems better than Native.. altho Native was not bad.
--BELL--
Korel Laloix: ALthough some do no understand the background meaning.
Raffila Millgrove: i think it means.. related to the first people who came to land we call America... is that correct?
Korel Laloix: Better then Injin, Indian, Red Skin, etc
Korel Laloix: Yes... just more accurate I feel.
Raffila Millgrove: it's good sounding. i think i will go for it.
Korel Laloix: Please do... smiles
Korel Laloix: I don't get offended by other terms (unless deliberatly a slur).
Raffila Millgrove: i refused to go with AFrican-American because like Whoppie.. i feel American should be first .. no one calls me northern european American.
Korel Laloix: Why I don't support the NFL or MLB.
Korel Laloix: Besides the fact that few things are more boring.
Santoshima Resident: hey FC !!!!!
Korel Laloix: Heya
Raffila Millgrove: I will be glad when we don't use any phrases referring to heritage or race tho.. that day seems far away.
Frenchie Riverstone: hi :)
Santoshima Resident: welcome ~
Korel Laloix: lol
Raffila Millgrove: Hello FC
Raffila Millgrove suddenly ended up sitting on the other side of everyone.
Korel Laloix: JOin us... smiles
FcSeeker Resident: San Frenchie Raffila Korel
Raffila Millgrove: oh I see now. Fc has a personal sized seat.. Nice.
Santoshima Resident: yeah, perfect
FcSeeker Resident: smiles
Korel Laloix: Yes.... our only tiny seat.
Frenchie Riverstone: :)
Korel Laloix: Try sitting in it some time... intertaining.
Raffila Millgrove: ooh these hearts actually smell like a lightly scented rose perfume to me. lovely
Santoshima Resident: yes, lotsa fun
Santoshima Resident: nice, raffi
Korel Laloix: If you dn't mindSL tourture yoga.
Raffila Millgrove: don't get smells too often in SL but these hearts definately have a light fragrance.
Korel Laloix: Smells like.... lag... grins
Raffila Millgrove: haha. naughty woman!
Raffila Millgrove: lag is all stinky smelling.. these are lovely.
Korel Laloix: You like my qualifying spelled out emote?
Raffila Millgrove: hehe. of course!
Santoshima Resident: very contrary, Korel ~ FINALLY you are living up to your moniker :)
Korel Laloix: I am on a role evidently, been that sort of day.
Santoshima Resident: { teasing you, of course ...}
Raffila Millgrove: of course . me too.
Korel Laloix: YOu have to put a qualifying emote with that.
Santoshima Resident: :)))))))
Raffila Millgrove: adds a fake smiley emoticon to prove it.
Korel Laloix: Exactly.
Korel Laloix: Just wait till election season hits or the next world peace day....
Raffila Millgrove: lol
Korel Laloix: I get very annoying I am told.
FcSeeker Resident: (has a wish in his mind to understand what 'qualifying emote' might mean is his language)
Raffila Millgrove: that world peace day really bugged you, Korel.
Raffila Millgrove: oh.
Korel Laloix: an emoticon
FcSeeker Resident: hm
FcSeeker Resident: world peace day...
Korel Laloix: I just renamed it world Tollerate Genocide Day.
Korel Laloix: Far more honest.
Korel Laloix: Notice, not qualifying emote.
Raffila Millgrove: mm. Fc.. yes we were talking i think yesterday maybe.. how often these little smling emoticons will show up.. when someone says something that's not very nice.. as tho they are trying like a customer service people to tell you bad news with a smile.
Santoshima Resident: please excuse me, need to answer the door ... back in a while ... avi will stay ~
Korel Laloix: OK... see you soon.
Raffila Millgrove: come back soon San.
Santoshima Resident: i'll trade spots with raffi, ok?
Raffila Millgrove: ok.
Raffila Millgrove switches so she can sit next to the panda.
Korel Laloix: Move ballanced.
Korel Laloix: Fung Shay? (SP?)
Raffila Millgrove: haha. oh good. I am in line with this weeks theme then... I am seeking balance.
Raffila Millgrove: for all of us to have position of equnimity (misspelled of course)
FcSeeker Resident: (sigh)
Raffila Millgrove: i wish they'd picked a word that i could spell reliably. that one really mixes me up fast.
FcSeeker Resident: (might it better to give up even to try to understand)
FcSeeker Resident: is it monday today ?
Raffila Millgrove: one of the definitions of it was equipoise.. i am sticking with that as it's easier for me to type correctly.
Korel Laloix: That wasy yeterday I hope.
Raffila Millgrove: also it sounds kind of "horsey"... which is appealing.
Korel Laloix: I did some reading on it, but from a Jainist persperctive
Korel Laloix: As my first gf was a Jain.
Raffila Millgrove: ah. any insights from that perspective?
FcSeeker Resident: ahh
Korel Laloix: Well.. one big one, I realized we we did not work out....
--BELL--
FcSeeker Resident: (finally some words this little panda can understand)
Raffila Millgrove: uh oh.. someone has to claim this?
Frenchie Riverstone: :)
Korel Laloix: So, to me we hit a sort of wall with the relationship.
Korel Laloix: I think it might have been her equanimity barrier.
Raffila Millgrove: mm. well what do the Jains think about equanimity?
Korel Laloix: But that is just an idea.
Korel Laloix: Similar thoughts.
Korel Laloix: http://www.jainstudy.org/JSC7.10SMJain.pdf
Raffila Millgrove: yes it's only tuesday.. we can roll thru on the topic for the rest of the week, if we chose FC.
Korel Laloix: A quick read.
Raffila Millgrove: wow it rates First with them in the six duties.
Korel Laloix: I still do not agree with it as a worthy pursuit as expalined to me.
Raffila Millgrove: boy. they put a big value on it.
Raffila Millgrove: for me. this struggling.. the word struggle, battle with self. these ... words come up when i hear some speaking of how they are striving.
Korel Laloix: Yes.. so I sort of interpret this in a way that reinforces my negative conclusions on it....( qualifying emote of your choice)
FcSeeker Resident: (as it uses to be the Monday when things dont work out so well)
Raffila Millgrove: and that's where I have to bail on it.. i don't want to strive to be a better person or pressure myself to meet that standard. i already arrived at what is about my best. now i am trying to accept that it's about as good as i can get it.
FcSeeker Resident: (this time I mean my tiny brain)
Raffila Millgrove: lol
Frenchie Riverstone: :)
Raffila Millgrove: well it strains any brain in a way.. i am personally all for elimination stress and strain.
Korel Laloix: Yes, but not at the expense of deep relationships.
Raffila Millgrove: but that's just me. however, I think Korel does highlight that idea that... this concept can bring some strain to people esp when they contemplate the close relationships they might have with others.
Korel Laloix: This way seems to me a bit ... not sure the word... not brave....
Korel Laloix: Like an excuse not to really love someone.
Raffila Millgrove: also she made this point.. which might have been lost a bit.. that some anger.. Call to anger.. it's good.
Raffila Millgrove: anger is not ALL bad,
Raffila Millgrove: it's healthy response to some things.. and a call to action sometimes.. to do something about a wrong.
Korel Laloix: Thank you.. never sure I am clear in this sort of chat.
Raffila Millgrove: feelin sad or angry. she talked about it.
FcSeeker Resident: ...anger is the baby of the sorrow...
Raffila Millgrove: can be Fc.. can see it is sorrowful sometimes.. well anyway Korel didn't want to give up what i would term "Righteous anger" ...
Raffila Millgrove: she might put it differently. but that is kind of how I think of it. heathly, right anger. reason to do something to fix a wrong.
Korel Laloix: True... being made or sad is natural... and if worked right, can be a good motivator.
Raffila Millgrove: yes. exactly.
Korel Laloix: Yes.. thanks.
FcSeeker Resident: ...thinks how anger can guide to wrong actions to fix anything...mostly...
Santoshima Resident: *
FcSeeker Resident: ...thinks that one sure must not decline it, but not either to be the motive to act...
Korel Laloix: Yes.. the trick to guide your actions with you mind, but take the motivation from your hearth.
Korel Laloix: heart.
Raffila Millgrove: I totally heard you on that one. and agree 100 percent and the explanations. on why that's not.. the right way to deal with anger.. that we need to be dispassionate or objectively balanced and distanced--didn't buy into it.. just does not fit to my view. personally.
Korel Laloix: An example for me personally, I have a lot of anger toward my mom.
Korel Laloix: At first I did things to make her life suck.
FcSeeker Resident: well...thinks that it's the point, that anger mostly gets off the point...to be objective...
Korel Laloix: But then I fixed my thinking, and decided to channel that anger into me doing well in school.
FcSeeker Resident: as it can completely blind the mind if it's given the power to be the motive...
Korel Laloix: Yes, but that is why we work on our brains and hearts.
Frenchie Riverstone: love or anger?
Raffila Millgrove: it's true Fc.. that anger can be and often is very destructive.. but we were talking about.. a different type of anger.. one that is more like this--sad to see the planet... abused.. feeling angry.. wanting to do something about it... channeling the sorrow-anger etc. as Korel points out in what she decided to so with the negative energy.. turn to something positive.
Korel Laloix: Both can produce some realy stupid results for sure if you let them.
FcSeeker Resident: ok...this we; I do not work my brain that way ...so...
FcSeeker Resident: have nice time again
Korel Laloix: OH well.
Raffila Millgrove: mm. the word "we".. mm. i was talking about the way Korel and I were looking at anger. that is upsetting that Fc.. maybe thought something else it it? what did Fc think there?
Santoshima Resident: oh, bye Fc ~ take care and see you very soon
Korel Laloix: She might have just ran out of language so much.
Raffila Millgrove: ah maybe a language misunderstanding. maybe Fc thought.. we was .. a group or this group.
Raffila Millgrove feels sad that the panda went away.
Korel Laloix: Or.. it just could have been dinner.
Korel Laloix: I have gotten sort of offended before and just logged off... so I can understand that a bit.
--BELL--
Korel Laloix: Anyone know who's session it is?
Santoshima Resident: nope
Korel Laloix: I can claim it if no one else wants to.
Korel Laloix: I take that as a no.... smiles
Raffila Millgrove: ty Korel.
Korel Laloix: No worries.
Korel Laloix: I think it is an interesting point FC I think made.
Korel Laloix: That misguided anger and missguided love can produce similarly bad results.
Raffila Millgrove: yes it was. maybe she will come back to say a bit more on it.
Frenchie Riverstone: :)
Raffila Millgrove: San is going to Im her to see if she's upset or maybe she can rejoin us for a few.
Korel Laloix: Trying to thing if I personally have done more stupid things becuase of anger or love.
Korel Laloix: thnk
Raffila Millgrove wouldn't mind getting spritzed with that nice heart rose perfume again.
Santoshima Resident: yes
Santoshima Resident: ok, will IM
Raffila Millgrove: one time a friend gave me some bottles of perfume .. sl perfume.. that says it's good for ten whiffs. i never tried it.
Santoshima Resident: offline, but sent a message
Raffila Millgrove: ah. well .. hopefully .. she comes again soon...
Raffila Millgrove: or is that a "he".. i am a bit mixed.
Korel Laloix: Thought FC was a she... not sure why I thought that though...
Korel Laloix: Darn pronouns.
Korel Laloix: HOw is that?
Santoshima Resident: where are the hearts coming from?
Raffila Millgrove: well i had a companion here for long time was a he in rl.. but prefers to be a woman in SL.. cuase endless confusion when speaking of her/him. used "he" for rl and "she" for sl. finally people got used to the mixes.
Frenchie Riverstone: :)
Raffila Millgrove: oh this is a nice scent too.. seems a bit different from the other one.
Santoshima Resident: Fc refers to self as "he"
Santoshima Resident: Fc is Fc
Raffila Millgrove: ah. good to know.
Santoshima Resident: a rose is a rose
Raffila Millgrove: lol
Raffila Millgrove: so true.
Santoshima Resident: my friend is going to Nepal ... taking a bottle of Obsession, which holds powerful appeal to big cats, in this case ... snow leopards.
Korel Laloix: Good.
Korel Laloix: That does not sound very smart to me.
Raffila Millgrove: wow really? she's going to use it for real?
Raffila Millgrove: that seems a bit dicey.
Korel Laloix: Attracting something that may want to eat you.
Santoshima Resident: http://greenwoodphinney.komonews.com...ts-your-obsess ion
Santoshima Resident: hmmm. i'll try again ...
Korel Laloix: Enough heats?
Korel Laloix: hearts
Raffila Millgrove: oh it's a male scent? intersting. i thought it was a female one.
Santoshima Resident: maybe they need to be a little more tranparent
Raffila Millgrove: it shows a men's aftershave balm. made of obession perfume.
Santoshima Resident: female/male, who knows ... the big cats love it
Korel Laloix: Ineresting.
Raffila Millgrove: i never thought of that as a unisex perfume. mm
Raffila Millgrove: i wonder. why they thought to spray it around that zoo in the first place.
Santoshima Resident: http://www.wcs.org/multimedia/videos...servation.aspx
Santoshima Resident: does that work?
Raffila Millgrove: maybe some zoo keeper was wearing it.. and they notice the cats seemed drawn to him.
Frenchie Riverstone: i go now ... bye :)
Raffila Millgrove: bye FRenchie
Santoshima Resident: bye Frenchie ~ thanks for coming by
Korel Laloix: Ciao
Raffila Millgrove: wow.. that was so interesting san... they are using scents to stimulate the big cats everyday.. keep their sense of smell.. working. who knew!
Raffila Millgrove: that's such a great story.
--BELL--
Raffila Millgrove: oh the hour is gone already. gosh i really enjoyed to visit with you all.
Korel Laloix: Wow.. yes, thanks for the chat.
Raffila Millgrove waves bye while she ponders why she finds San and Korel so pepping up and refreshing and is just glad she does!
Korel Laloix: OK.. guess I will get back to work as well and post this one.
Korel Laloix: Thanks for the chat.
Santoshima Resident: bye Korel ~ take care
Santoshima Resident: bye Raffi
