oO0Oo Resident: 9 low
oO0Oo Resident: Hiya Luci :)
oO0Oo Resident: :)
Lucinda Lavender: HI Sam!
Lucinda Lavender: oops
Lucinda Lavender: sorry for sitting on you...
oO0Oo Resident: no worries :)
oO0Oo Resident: easy to do :)
Lucinda Lavender: as it happens there is a kind of slowness going on here
oO0Oo Resident: and you are so light!
oO0Oo Resident: slownwss as in lag?
Lucinda Lavender: barely a picture
Lucinda Lavender: yes
oO0Oo Resident: *slowness
Lucinda Lavender: nodding
oO0Oo Resident: give a few minutes
oO0Oo Resident: you can also try setting your draw distance to a lower value.. that sometimes helps
Lucinda Lavender: yes settled now but need to get my cell phone as someone is sending a message and it may pertain to work...brb
oO0Oo Resident: kk..
Lucinda Lavender: back
oO0Oo Resident: wb :)
Lucinda Lavender: so...
Lucinda Lavender: all green here
Lucinda Lavender: nice
oO0Oo Resident: open space.. green space
Lucinda Lavender: any thoughts about things to ponder?
oO0Oo Resident ponders, pondering what to ponder... ;)
oO0Oo Resident: I guess until Sunday there is still an equanimity theme.. for one.
Lucinda Lavender: it is spring...the trees are blooming, there is a new season.
Lucinda Lavender: ah yes!
oO0Oo Resident: Ah.. and in the Southern Hemisphere?
oO0Oo Resident: hehe
Lucinda Lavender: so true!
Lucinda Lavender: fall I guess...
oO0Oo Resident: It must be nice where you are .. well.. maybe not "must be" Spring can be though ...
Lucinda Lavender: yes...so much blooming as the school year winds down
Lucinda Lavender: or perhaps comes to a crescendo
oO0Oo Resident: Do you get breaks then? School holidays?
Lucinda Lavender: ysep:)
oO0Oo Resident: Oh.. yes .. imagine lots to wrap up.
Lucinda Lavender: yes...had a birthday yesterday
Lucinda Lavender: can't type yet...after two week vacation:)
Lucinda Lavender: visited my kids and spent very little time typing:)
oO0Oo Resident: Was it a nice time Luci? aside from losing typing continuity ;) ??
Lucinda Lavender: yes very:)
oO0Oo Resident: Maybe refreshing? In more ways than one?
Lucinda Lavender: yes...and so interesting to continue exploring knowing children as adults
oO0Oo Resident: Chickens would have missed you (^^)
Lucinda Lavender: perhaps they did miss but they had a chicken sitter:)
oO0Oo Resident: *children as adults* ("chicken sitter" lol)
--BELL--
Lucinda Lavender: Have any interesting dreams?
oO0Oo Resident: Yes.. but I am not trained in writing them down.. so I lose them after being awake for a while. But I know I have had some. Most dreams seem very interesting.
oO0Oo Resident: Also, I'm a bit wary to talk about dreams .. so personal.. to a world wide unknown audience..
Lucinda Lavender: yes, mine fade as well but when there is something unexpected ...right...I know what you mean...
Lucinda Lavender: thinking about the equanimity theme.
oO0Oo Resident nods
Lucinda Lavender: the word feels like it is related to "equal" for some reason
oO0Oo Resident: indeed
oO0Oo Resident: I posted an etymology in another session...
Lucinda Lavender: tho more for its sound perhaps
Lucinda Lavender: yes... just remembering( in my head I was thinking of the dream I had on my trip in which at a community bookstore I saw Obama and his son arrive...I know that he has the opportunity to watch a dvd/download about a musician of the past who has words to share...I tell him to come back when it is less busy...so that he can have a bonding/learning experience while listening. Next more people arrive to listen as well.end of dream)(Before sleeping I had learned that next my son's garden patch ...there was the dwelling made by emancipated slaves who had lived there!) Very moving...
oO0Oo Resident: wondering about seasons.. and equanimity
Lucinda Lavender: eveness:)
Lucinda Lavender: the world having it's evenly shared seasons
oO0Oo Resident: evanescence of comings and goings
oO0Oo Resident: and some kind of thread of centeredness
oO0Oo Resident: I think to know equanimity.. we have to experience its opposite/s
Lucinda Lavender: hmmm
Lucinda Lavender: can you give an example?
--BELL--
oO0Oo Resident: many i suppose.. being affected by expectations.. notions of gain and loss, pride, and humbleness, loss, and gain, pleasure/pain.. in many ways...
oO0Oo Resident: [sorry bell]
Lucinda Lavender: nodding
oO0Oo Resident: In some frames.. equanimity is said to be our true state.. after confusion falls away
oO0Oo Resident: so.. nothing to be gained in a sense
Lucinda Lavender: ah! that sounds good
oO0Oo Resident: but.. there could still be awareness and discipline, and effort around letting things go.. I suppose
oO0Oo Resident: using the edges of experience.. the boundaries.. in places of feeling and recognising.. experience of non-equanimity.
Lucinda Lavender: letting go of dissipointment perhaps
oO0Oo Resident: I think Tonglen and Metta-Karuna practices do this.. provide a way to train.
oO0Oo Resident: Maybe many ways
oO0Oo Resident: not only dissappointment.. but appointment .. maybe.. What do you think?
Lucinda Lavender: hmm yes
oO0Oo Resident: Not avoiding.. or cultivating.. but just appreciating what is?
Lucinda Lavender: hmmm feels like witholding the charge we put on situations
oO0Oo Resident: I have come to no conclusions ;)
Lucinda Lavender: ah
oO0Oo Resident: can you say more Luci?
oO0Oo Resident: The charge we put?
Lucinda Lavender: an emotional charge perhaps gets projected on to situations?
oO0Oo Resident: How does that happen?
Lucinda Lavender: I don't really know...
oO0Oo Resident: Seems like judgements might be involved...
Lucinda Lavender: I think perhaps grasping too
oO0Oo Resident: or.. averting...?
oO0Oo Resident: or ignoring?
Lucinda Lavender: that too...resisting
Lucinda Lavender: I keep thinking about personal situations that maybe are not so good to talk about but are fertile topics....what I like is to look at situations as gifts for learningg
oO0Oo Resident: touching experience.. noticing.. breathing, allowing.. being with.. abiding.. and then so many storylines/biases.. conceptual righteousness.. and confirmation bias.. Happens all so quickly quite often.
oO0Oo Resident: me nods
oO0Oo Resident: personal seems a powerful place to speak from.. though container is a consideration
oO0Oo Resident: [ note for log.. Luci and 0 talk in IM for a bit ]
--BELL--
oO0Oo Resident: I wonder sometimes the difference between taking action.. and wishing something...
Lucinda Lavender: yes...?
Lucinda Lavender: can you say more?
Lucinda Lavender: action is powerful
Lucinda Lavender: wishing is kind of on a being level
Lucinda Lavender: to my mind
Lucinda Lavender: getting oatmeal...
Lucinda Lavender: back
oO0Oo Resident: Well, passing a homeless person.. I might feel something in me.. fear, aversion, sympathy, empathy, many things.. full of my own reactions and projections.. Do I feel these things.. and internally wish the person, and myself.. peace.. shelter, care, whatever may be needed? and or.. do I help in some way.. with an action.. a share of money, or assistance of some kind.. What is truly needed? So that is a personal example.. which i have been on both sides of. The landscape or perhaps "charge" as you put it.. seems to be layered with each persons energies..
Lucinda Lavender: nodding!
oO0Oo Resident: and the window can be narrow..
oO0Oo Resident: one places oneself in the position of thinking.. one is the one to give something.. It is not fundamentally open..
Lucinda Lavender: thinking about what you have said above...
Lucinda Lavender: complicated
oO0Oo Resident: perhaps not a good example.. in that "homeless person" already carries a charge in societies.. People are much more than that...
--BELL--
Lucinda Lavender: Yes...
oO0Oo Resident: Perhaps better than "much more than that", is to say.. full of open possibility
Lucinda Lavender: Our roles...are powerful whether we are a president or homeless person I am thinking.
oO0Oo Resident: such strong symbols.. but two unique and human beings
oO0Oo Resident imagines person who has been homeless for a period of time.. becoming a leader of a country...
Lucinda Lavender: yes! thanks for your comtribution here
Lucinda Lavender: yes...interesting imaging
oO0Oo Resident: Maybe Robin Williams character in the movie.. The Fisher King
Lucinda Lavender: the suffering they have worked with...informing the new role
Lucinda Lavender: nods
Lucinda Lavender: well I must go for now:)
Lucinda Lavender: thanks again for you thinking:)
oO0Oo Resident: OK Luci.. yes.. see it is past the hour
