The Guardian for this meeting was Eos Amaterasu. The comments are by Eos Amaterasu.
Eos Amaterasu:
"Some people tell us . . .
Nothing special is needed
Just relax; just let it go
Sounds so easy; what a trickeroo
To weave the moments of empty time
Into the fabric of ordinary magic" -
- a friend
...
Korel Laloix: Bohzo
Hana Furlough: Hi Eos and Korel!
Eos Amaterasu: Hi Hana (long time no see) and Korel
Korel Laloix: What did I miss?
Eos Amaterasu: Only this:
Eos Amaterasu: "Some people tell us . . . Nothing special is needed Just relax; just let it go Sounds so easy; what a trickeroo To weave the moments of empty time Into the fabric of ordinary magic" -
Hana Furlough: nice!
Korel Laloix: Interesting words.
Eos Amaterasu: Is there a topic for this week? (I think the "stillness" topic has now ended....)
Eos Amaterasu: which words, Korel?
Korel Laloix: I think so.. not sure what it is though.
Korel Laloix: What Eos pasted.
Eos Amaterasu: trickeroo? "empty time"? "ordinary magic"?
Hana Furlough: lol! trickeroo!
Korel Laloix: Hard for me to determin what is meant by things like that.
Hana Furlough: yeah
Hana Furlough: ordinary magic sounds pretty fascinating, though
Eos Amaterasu: such words are in the transportation business, not so much about themselves but about taking you somewhere
Hana Furlough: : )
Korel Laloix: Good words are nice to read.
Korel Laloix: But a lot of time I miss the real intent.
Korel Laloix: So.. never really been a poetry person.
Korel Laloix: Looking in the logs and I don't see a designated new topic.
Eos Amaterasu: ordinary magic.... not so much Hollywood or Disneyland style magic, but the magic of this very phenomenality in front of and within us....
Hana Furlough: ahh but the intent is in you
Hana Furlough: how is that different from disney magic?! ; )
Korel Laloix: And magic is a very odd and broad word as well.
Alfred Kelberry: xiri!
Korel Laloix: osiyo
Eos Amaterasu: disney magic opposes a humdrum "ordinary" world to an extra-special magical world
Hana Furlough: eos -- can you say more about this phenomenality?
Eos Amaterasu: hi boxy
Alfred Kelberry: hi :)
Eos Amaterasu: hi xir
Hana Furlough: Hi Boxy
Hana Furlough: Hi Xirana
Xirana Oximoxi: hello Eos, Korel, Hana :)
Alfred Kelberry: oh my, fancy kori :)
Alfred Kelberry: prom queen? :)
Eos Amaterasu: hollywood magic takes us away from the here right now to the what if there could be there and then
Korel Laloix: I won this. so figured I had to wear it at least once.
Korel Laloix: Before I deleat it.
Korel Laloix: The hat is fun though.
Alfred Kelberry: it looks great on you
Alfred Kelberry: glad you gave it a try
Xirana Oximoxi: yes!! very nice! :)
Korel Laloix: Well, I look good any anything really.. smiles
Alfred Kelberry: :)
Eos Amaterasu: the freshness is inside and as each appearance (like Korel's outfit :-)), not somewhere else - that's my sense of ordinary magic
--BELL--
Alfred Kelberry: eos, seen a hollywood movie lately? :)
Korel Laloix: It is interesting, I find most white people really don't beleive in magic..... but I grew up in a culture that very much realizes it.
Hana Furlough: oooh tell us more
Eos Amaterasu: can u say more about this magic, Korel?
Korel Laloix: So conversations about it tend to go strange when I have them RL.
Alfred Kelberry: like voodoo magic?
Alfred Kelberry: or magic of serendipity?
Korel Laloix: lol.. wrong part of the world boxy.
Korel Laloix: No, First American msyticism.
Xirana Oximoxi: it's interesting to know your view on magic, you know it much beter thant all what I can have heard about
Alfred Kelberry: oh
Xirana Oximoxi: it's a cultural matter
Alfred Kelberry: kind of in the same realm as voodoo, no? :)
Korel Laloix: My aunt are meidicin women and I grew up with our idea of how the other world pears into this one.
Korel Laloix: I really don'tknow much about Voodoo.. but that seems more dark focused.
Hana Furlough: can you tell us how?
Korel Laloix: Well, something we have discussed in here before... In the Tsalagi tradition,we have four souls.
Korel Laloix: And when we pass physically, our spirit takes four differnt paths on its way out.
Korel Laloix: And each of those effects us here differently.
Korel Laloix: And certian plants and animals actually have spiritual significance.
Alfred Kelberry: i think this magic comes from close connection to nature and usage of herbals, that was alien to many whites
Korel Laloix: And cerimonies are not just actions, but those things have been done for generations and have been tuned to bring other powers inot our world.
Korel Laloix: Interesting.... did anyone else just get a stream of random Group Invites?
Alfred Kelberry: nope
Hana Furlough: no
Alfred Kelberry: you must have said something, kori :)
Alfred Kelberry: awoken ancient powers :)
Hana Furlough: :)
Korel Laloix: lol
Xirana Oximoxi: how have these magical believes coexisted with catholic religion?...in Europe during inquisition time, all women that used plants as medicine and so on were seen as witches and burned
Alfred Kelberry: yes, most pagans were prosecuted
Korel Laloix: NO idea.
Alfred Kelberry: infidels
Eos Amaterasu: nowadays there's a huge intersection of cathoicism and plant spirit medicine and other shamanic traditions in South America
Alfred Kelberry: ah, yes, eos. that's an interesting mix there.
Korel Laloix: Of the groups ... I think I will join... I love Curling, Licorice Pizza and BDSM and International Law.
Eos Amaterasu: people often ignore the priests and do their own religious mixins
Korel Laloix: lol
Eos Amaterasu: BDSM and International Law - interesting group
Alfred Kelberry: *notes kori's group tag* :)
Xirana Oximoxi: I have not received this invite :)
Alfred Kelberry: aph!
Xirana Oximoxi: hi Aph!
Alfred Kelberry: the hiking girl!
Eos Amaterasu: aph is here with the coffee?
Aphrodite Macbain: morning! grins
Hana Furlough: Hi Aphrodite!
Aphrodite Macbain: yes. would yoou like some?
Korel Laloix: Heya.
Eos Amaterasu: thnx, yes
Alfred Kelberry: i'd like cacao
Eos Amaterasu: oh yes, with some cocoa
Aphrodite Macbain: hmm
Korel Laloix: Anyway, I do find it odd to find people that do not have any belief in the "supernatural".
Hana Furlough: agreed
Aphrodite Macbain: I dont
Eos Amaterasu: magic in one frame of reference can be very different from magic in another
Aphrodite Macbain: beliweve
Korel Laloix: I just seems such a ... not sure the word.. maybe sterile.... mind set.
Korel Laloix: It just
Aphrodite Macbain: I guess I have a sterile mind...
Eos Amaterasu: we tend to become how we model our world
Korel Laloix: Not sure that is the right word.
--BELL--
Eos Amaterasu: if the world is a mecano model, we become like that
Korel Laloix: Mecano?
Eos Amaterasu: mechanical..... there were "meccano" (or something like that) toy sets, where you could build stuff
Eos Amaterasu: but, for example, biological cells are not exactly lego brick constructions
Korel Laloix: Not hears of that.
Korel Laloix: NO they are not....
Korel Laloix: Thanks goodness.
Hana Furlough: : )
Eos Amaterasu: (though at sufficient scale you could probably use legos to build up molecules etc)
Korel Laloix: OK.. had enouhg of this outfit... time to delete.. except the hat.
Eos Amaterasu: magicaL!
Aphrodite Macbain: Nods- I dont think we ned to invent super-natural beings when there are so many amazing things already in nature to marvel at. Because it is beyond our comprehension doesnt mean it's supernatural.
Eos Amaterasu: HMM, I smell the waffles... time to depart.
Eos Amaterasu: bye and thanks, all!
Aphrodite Macbain: May I have some?
Hana Furlough: bye Eos
Eos Amaterasu: :-)
Aphrodite Macbain: waves at Eos
Korel Laloix: I agree.. I think the word supernatural makes some assumptions that are not really correct.
Aphrodite Macbain: yes. anything is "magical" if it is a phenomenon qwe don't understand yet
Aphrodite Macbain: Hi Hana - long time no swee!
Korel Laloix: Not sure I agree with that though.
Aphrodite Macbain: see
Hana Furlough: Yes, long time no see, Aph!
Korel Laloix: There ar ethings that I think are magic.. they are still natural though.
Aphrodite Macbain: are you in Japan?
Hana Furlough: Yep ^^
Korel Laloix: But if I see something very sci-fi... I wuowld conclude that it is just technology.
Aphrodite Macbain: I guess you need to define "natural" and "magic"
Korel Laloix: I think magic is natural.
Aphrodite Macbain: Magic, to me, is an unexplainable phenomenon.
Aphrodite Macbain: whethr it is natural or cultural
Korel Laloix: But if you saw something you could not explain..... would you conclude it was magic or technology?
Aphrodite Macbain: We miss you Hana
Aphrodite Macbain: I wouldn't conclude anything
Hana Furlough: I miss you all too! It's nice to see you all again! : )
Aphrodite Macbain: I would look into it further and assume it was somethng I cant explain
Alfred Kelberry: hana, come more often :)
Hana Furlough: thanks, I will definitely try!
Aphrodite Macbain: Are you very busy in RL Hana?
Korel Laloix: I guess I am just too curious.. I would have to make a first conclusion and go from there.
Korel Laloix: But that is how my mind works.
Hana Furlough: Yeah, things have calmed down a bit recently, though
Aphrodite Macbain: I'm afraid I should go
Korel Laloix: Ciao bella
Aphrodite Macbain: Bye all - there's a Guardian meeting now
Hana Furlough: Hope to see you again soon, Aph!
Korel Laloix: OH yes...
Korel Laloix: Be right there.
Hana Furlough: Nice chatting with you all
Korel Laloix: Thanks... smiles
Korel Laloix: Take care.
Hana Furlough: You too! Bye for now ^^
