Wol Euler was guardian for this session.

    Wol Euler: good mornin, korel
    Korel Laloix: Oh... heya
    Wol Euler: how's life?
Korel Laloix: How have you been Wol?
    Korel Laloix: Silly busy.
    Wol Euler: family busy :)
Korel Laloix: But in a good way.
Wol Euler: did you read about the blackout in Saskatchewan last month?
Korel Laloix: Glad you enjoy your family busy time...
Wol Euler: four days without power
Wol Euler: landlines out for over a week
Korel Laloix: No, but there seems to be a lot of that recently.
Wol Euler: internet just got reconnected yesterday
Korel Laloix: Washington was out of power for a while recently.
    Korel Laloix: Ouch.
Wol Euler: yeah, for nearly two weeks
    Wol Euler: incredible
Korel Laloix: Interesting how fragile things can be.
    Wol Euler nods.
Korel Laloix: Or at least difficult to put back together.
    Wol Euler: subtle difference :)
Wol Euler: bricks are not at all fragile, but once broken they stay broken
Wol Euler: brb, chilly here this morning
Korel Laloix: I have not been on much the last couple of weeks... guess I nees to read the wiki and find out what went on.
    Korel Laloix: ok.
    Wol Euler: back
Wol Euler: well, I missed the better part of three weeks too :)
Wol Euler: apparently a verbal storm, or at least a few good flurries
Wol Euler: about the meaning and direction and purpose etc
Korel Laloix: I tend to miss the really good ones I think.
    Korel Laloix: Good subjects.
    Wol Euler: agreed
Korel Laloix: About Pab or life in general?
Wol Euler: oh, you meant you miss good subjects? I thouight you meant those are good subjects
    Korel Laloix: Both...
    Wol Euler chuckles.
Wol Euler: then I can agree to both
Wol Euler: and to life in general
    Korel Laloix smiles
Korel Laloix: I was hopeing to be on more during thesummer, but it is not really working out that way.
Korel Laloix: I have really enjoyed and learned from the chats here.
Korel Laloix: But have been frustrated as well sometimes like everyone else.
    Wol Euler nods.
Korel Laloix: What is the topic for this week?
Korel Laloix: I have not looked it up.
Wol Euler: the thing I don't understand about those who say they want to hear X is: why they don't start talking about X.
Wol Euler: there is no agenda, there is no über-boss who censors topics.
    Korel Laloix: That is true.
Wol Euler: nobody needs permission to speak here
Korel Laloix: But I have had some of my attempts to go on a topic pretty much dismissed.
    Wol Euler raises an eyebrow.
Korel Laloix: So it does not always go that way.
Wol Euler: well, I'm sorry to hear that.
Wol Euler: I hope I didn't do that to you
Korel Laloix: People are in different moods, so no worries.
    Korel Laloix: No.
    Wol Euler: good
Korel Laloix: And I don't take it personally.
    Wol Euler nods.
Korel Laloix: My perspective might find soem things interesting that others do not.
Wol Euler: it happens often enough in RL that one tries to introduce a topic, which doesn't "take"
Wol Euler: at least in my experience

    --BELL--

Korel Laloix: And my points of view are sometimes very differting from the groups.
Korel Laloix: But that is one of the reasons I like this place... I like hearing different points of view.
Wol Euler: Topic, Week 1 - application of spiritual practices in real life (e.g. vipassana in dharma is a way to calm down our thoughts and increase awareness of self. its rl application is lessen stress, normalize breathing, settle down. another example is feng shui, which is a play on energies in a closed system. in rl its manifestation is in keeping the house tidy and uncluttered :)
Wol Euler: (this week, from e-mail)
    Korel Laloix: wado
Wol Euler: keeping the house tidy and uncluttered is my weak spot :(
Korel Laloix: lol.. I am way over type A on that.
Wol Euler: I just found something I'd been looking for since early this week. It was about a foot from where it should have been, in plain sight
Korel Laloix: Everything that I own I can put in my car, so I am always tidy.
Korel Laloix: Grandma..... on the other hand.... smiles
    Wol Euler: heheh
Wol Euler: I've noticed that things become invisible when I put them down
Wol Euler: I just walk around them
Wol Euler: so I have two projects for the rest of this year: learn to drive, and clean up my apartment
Korel Laloix: You and grandma have some of the same issues it seems.. smiles
    Wol Euler grins.
Korel Laloix: Lean to drive a car? Motorcycle?
    Wol Euler: car
Wol Euler: I reached the ripe old age of 54 without learning to drive
Korel Laloix: Might be a good hoby.
Wol Euler: but having been in the car with my mother this summer, I realize the time has come
Wol Euler: she's unsafe now, and I will need to be able to take over
Korel Laloix: I am trying to think how old I was when I was driving.
Korel Laloix: Not legaly of course.
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
Wol Euler: farm kids in Canada all learn to drive at 12
Wol Euler: legally, as long as they aren't on the public road
Korel Laloix: I was driving mom back home when she was out of it very early.
Wol Euler: hello bhang, nice to see you again
    Korel Laloix: Heya B.
Korel Laloix: But that was out of necessity.
    Bhang Tyran: hello :)
    Bhang Tyran: i remembered
    Wol Euler smiles.
Wol Euler: who taught you, korel, or how did you learn?
Korel Laloix: Not sure... maybe just watching.
Korel Laloix: Need to dive into the memories.
Korel Laloix: She put me into a lot of very bad situations.
    Wol Euler nods soberly
Korel Laloix: Cleaning up your appartments sounds painful.. how long have you been there?
    Wol Euler: well, 18 years
Wol Euler: still in the same place I landed in when I came here
Korel Laloix: You may want to start with just getting rid of stuff.
Korel Laloix: Then have a fire.
    Wol Euler: ha
    Korel Laloix smiles
Wol Euler: no fires in the city :)
Wol Euler: though it would be an answer
Wol Euler: a lot of it is junk, stuff I simply never got around to throwing out
Wol Euler: some of it is disorganization, things not in their proper place
Korel Laloix: Just trim to you can put it in your new car.... smiles
    Wol Euler shakes her head.
Wol Euler: I'll never get there, my books alone fill several cars
Korel Laloix: Grandma has that issue as well.
Wol Euler: I don't see books as an issue :)
Wol Euler: the rest, yes, granted

    --BELL--

Korel Laloix: lol... What I told grandma is that if she has not opened a book in 25 years, it might be tme to get rid of it.
Bhang Tyran: your gramma probly has some good books
    Korel Laloix: Some are...
    Korel Laloix: Some are crazy.
Bhang Tyran: old things have many stories other than whats written
    Wol Euler nods.
    Bhang Tyran: well books anyway
Wol Euler: more than that, rings for example
    Korel Laloix: rings?
Wol Euler: my sister has her grandmother-in-law's rings. Lovely things full of family stories
    Korel Laloix: OH OK.
Bhang Tyran: yeah ever watch antiques roadshow?
    Wol Euler: yeah :)
Korel Laloix: I don't watch TV.
Bhang Tyran: awesome things tons of history and herstory hahaha
Bhang Tyran: its one show worth watching
Korel Laloix: I only own one old thing I think.
    Bhang Tyran: what is it?
Korel Laloix: My aunts handed me down their buckskin regalia.
    Wol Euler: oh wow
    Bhang Tyran: oooooh
Wol Euler: worth making a place in the car for that :)
Bhang Tyran: my gramma recenctly gave me an old bocket knife that belonged to her dad i kinda choled up
Korel Laloix: I dont' dance buckskin though... I should try it this year though.
    Wol Euler nods.
    Bhang Tyran: chokd
    Korel Laloix: Nice.
Wol Euler: that could be your project for the year :)
    Korel Laloix: What sort?
Bhang Tyran: an old 2 blade folding knife
    Bhang Tyran: classic
Bhang Tyran: he was a butcher
    Wol Euler nods.
    Wol Euler: nice
Bhang Tyran: i wonder what they make now that would last long enough to pass down
Korel Laloix: Grandma was a teacher.... so her book fetish runs back decades.
    Bhang Tyran: smart gramma
    Korel Laloix: That she is.
Bhang Tyran: arent they all lol
Bhang Tyran: you mentoned buckskin dancing?
Korel Laloix: Some more than others.
    Wol Euler grins.
    Korel Laloix: Waht about it?
    Korel Laloix: What
Bhang Tyran: that always looked fun and like riteous
Korel Laloix: To me it is sort of tedious.... grins
Korel Laloix: Fancy shawl is far more energetic.
    Wol Euler: heheheh
Wol Euler: "traditional" is probably the word you are looking for, korel :)
    Wol Euler grins.
Korel Laloix: Funny enough, that is the other name for buckskin dancing...
Wol Euler: somebody once said that's how you can tell a surviving tradition from a recent revival
Wol Euler: if people look bored, like they are doing it from duty, then it's genuine :)
    Bhang Tyran: hmmm
Korel Laloix: I don't do jingle either.
Wol Euler: not sure I believe that entirely, but there is some truth in it

    --BELL--

    Wol Euler: "jingle"?
Korel Laloix: But I will join in for some of the purpose dances.
Korel Laloix: The dancing regalia has a lot of bells on it.
    Wol Euler: ah, gotcha
Korel Laloix: I just love the energy and feel of Fancy Shawl... eventhough it is a fairly modern creation.

A retreat is in the offing! Stand by for details.

Wol Euler: damn, korel, you really should organize a retreat for us
Wol Euler: with a visit to a powwow and some dancing
Korel Laloix: I want to.... I have a plan worked out.
    Bhang Tyran: sweat lodge !
    Wol Euler smiles.
Wol Euler: great, go for it
Wol Euler: feel free to mail me if you want to discuss details
Korel Laloix: Next summer north west OK.
Wol Euler: and Eos is the retreat coordinator, he can give lots of practical tips
    Korel Laloix: Thanks.
Korel Laloix: I just have to work some things out about the mobility impared folks.
    Wol Euler nods.
Korel Laloix: Think I am finaly tired.
    Wol Euler: good :)
Korel Laloix: So off to bed.
    Korel Laloix: Take care.
Wol Euler: not that it isn'T nice to talk with you
Wol Euler: but sleep is a goodness
    Wol Euler smiles.
    Wol Euler: goodnight, sleep well
    Korel Laloix: ciao
    Bhang Tyran: haha bye
Bhang Tyran: how have the meeting been going?
Wol Euler: I haven'T attended many lately, I was out in the wilds of Canada wihtout internet access for three weeks
Wol Euler: apparently there were a few hefty discussions about the nature and purpose of Play as Being
Wol Euler: this is being discussed as an ongoing series of theme sessions, monday 7am
Bhang Tyran: the wilds sound good right now
Wol Euler: yeah, it was good
Wol Euler: I enjoyed the quiet
Wol Euler: very different life to here
    Wol Euler: sun-directed
Wol Euler: rose earlier, went to bed earlier
Wol Euler: much less sitting around, too
    Bhang Tyran: fishin or hikin?
Wol Euler: neihter :) on a farm
    Wol Euler: with relatives
Wol Euler: there was a lot of work to do, setting up for a big party
    Wol Euler: 60th wedding anniversary
    Bhang Tyran: cool
    Wol Euler: yeah
Wol Euler: there aren't many of those
Bhang Tyran: yeah my g.parents had their 62nd not to long ago
    Wol Euler: cool
Bhang Tyran: puts most coupples i know to shame
Wol Euler: I doubt if anyone in our generation will manage that, we all marry so late - or not at all
    Bhang Tyran: agreed
Bhang Tyran: trying to resolve our independence from dependency is tough
    Wol Euler nods.
Bhang Tyran: but then again i knowsome couples that you look at and know their gonna work
Bhang Tyran: so not all is lost
Wol Euler: it's up to us
Wol Euler: whether our desire to stay together is stronger than the momentary annoyances

    --BELL--

Wol Euler: and whether that is more valuable than stroking our little egos one more time
    Bhang Tyran: yesh
Bhang Tyran: but it feels so good lol
Bhang Tyran: with a bitter aftertaste
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
Wol Euler: anyway, I must leave, time for work
Wol Euler: nice to see you again, B
Bhang Tyran: hahaha have a productive and enlightening day
    Wol Euler: hehehehheh
Wol Euler: I shall do my best
