    Stones.

    Santoshima Resident: good morning :)
    Storm Nordwind: Good morning both
    Eliza Madrigal: Morning :)
Eliza Madrigal: sorry to pop away... IM from Sun to show something, will be back one moment
Santoshima Resident: how are you Storm?
Storm Nordwind: Fine thank you. A little healthier after deciding to lose some weight over the last three weeks.
Santoshima Resident: oh ~ that's great
Storm Nordwind: Personal weight units are fun. In the UK they still use stones and pounds. In the US, it's pounds only. In most of the rest of the world it seems kilos reign! :)
Santoshima Resident: stones ... like the sound of that
Santoshima Resident: gives a solid picture
Storm Nordwind: Indeed! Equivalent to 14 pounds.
Santoshima Resident: imagining river rocks on one side of the scales, then one can throw off small units at a time.
    --BELL--
Storm Nordwind: What a great image!

    druth Vlodovic: happy thankgiving
    SophiaSharon Larnia: heheh
    Santoshima Resident: trumpets? bye druth
Storm Nordwind: A gentle parody of some of our courtesies ;)

    Planning ahead.

szavanna Resident: Just a question - are you already planning the PaB bday?
    SophiaSharon Larnia: awesome
Eliza Madrigal: we are starting to Sza
SophiaSharon Larnia: bday? isnt that in april?

Eliza Madrigal: maybe two, two hour sessions
szavanna Resident: I love to start planning early
szavanna Resident: that means 4 months of partying hehe
    szavanna Resident: or 5
    Eliza Madrigal laughs
    Storm Nordwind: Apparently!
szavanna Resident: unless the world ends on 21 dec
Eliza Madrigal: we've just begun the brainstorming processes...
    Eliza Madrigal: started the engines....
szavanna Resident: I love that - started the engines °͜°
Storm Nordwind: The world's going to end again?! ;)
szavanna Resident: yes on my birthday!
szavanna Resident: who would have thought
Storm Nordwind: So we know who to blame then
SophiaSharon Larnia: aww Happy soon to be birthday!
    szavanna Resident cries
szavanna Resident: I am sorry ;p
    szavanna Resident: hehe ty ❤
    Eliza Madrigal grins
    SophiaSharon Larnia: :)

    Festivals and feasting.

Eliza Madrigal: I was thinking of driving to a Loy Krathong festival.. but should have gotten an earlier start
    --BELL--
Storm Nordwind: I thought that was next week Eliza (?)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: Hi Stevenaia
Eliza Madrigal: well here in Miami the Thai temple is celebrating today
Eliza Madrigal: I'd never actually heard of this before...
Eliza Madrigal: a festival of thanks for water
stevenaia Michinaga: computer was unpluged by my cat
Storm Nordwind: Oh I see - instead of next Wednesday.
    SophiaSharon Larnia: aww
Eliza Madrigal: tell me more about it Storm?
Storm Nordwind: Well... I'll defer to the short wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loi_Krathong
Storm Nordwind: I like how there are festivals of light that start around now. Diwali for example was last week.
Eliza Madrigal: nice: Apart from venerating the Buddha with light (the candle on the raft), the act of floating away the candle raft is symbolic of letting go of all one's grudges, anger and defilements, so that one can start life afresh on a better foot. People will also cut their fingernails and hair and add them to the raft as a symbol of letting go of the bad parts of oneself.
    Storm Nordwind: :))
    SophiaSharon Larnia: interesting
    szavanna Resident: °͜°
Eliza Madrigal: Stevie does your cat chew your computer cords?
stevenaia Michinaga: no, he makes me move with the cord wrapped around my leg, so it is an indirect unplugging on his part
    szavanna Resident: hehe
    SophiaSharon Larnia: crafty
    Eliza Madrigal smiles...creative
    Storm Nordwind: catz rulez
stevenaia Michinaga: and they know it!
SophiaSharon Larnia: i have to go, some last minute preparation to do...nice to see you all!
    SophiaSharon Larnia: bye for now
    stevenaia Michinaga: bye sophia
Eliza Madrigal: pleasure to see you Sophia
    szavanna Resident: take care Sophia
    Eliza Madrigal: bfn
    szavanna Resident: happy celebrating
    SophiaSharon Larnia: :)
    Santoshima Resident: bye sharon ~
    Storm Nordwind: Bye Sophia!

    Cooking.

Storm Nordwind: I'm thinking I should start cooking too. We are being hosted today, but I do want to take a contribution
Eliza Madrigal: nice, what are you making?
szavanna Resident: can I have some?
Storm Nordwind: Nothing fancy. Deviled eggs (curried naturally) and some onion rings
    szavanna Resident: mmm °͜°
    Eliza Madrigal: mmm :)
Storm Nordwind: I'll drag some onto your inventory Sun... unless you prefer email ;)
    stevenaia Michinaga: nice
    szavanna Resident: hehe tyty
stevenaia Michinaga: we have a turkey in the oven that we are delivering to mother-in-law
szavanna Resident: drop some eggs on my head
    szavanna Resident: ;p
stevenaia Michinaga: feeling less thankful after reading Korel's links from her alone session the other day
stevenaia Michinaga: an First Nation's perspective
Storm Nordwind: I must check them - thanks for the heads up
stevenaia Michinaga: I have the link handy....
Eliza Madrigal: my son and I were talking about how holidays aren't really about what they seem to be about
Eliza Madrigal: there is some energy about getting into the same rhythm with others
    stevenaia Michinaga: http://www.alternet.org/story/28584/no_thanks_to_thanksgiving
Storm Nordwind: Thanks. History, especially where I come from, is full of invasions and often assimilations.

    Making your own.

szavanna Resident: I like to make my own holidays
Eliza Madrigal: what do you do Sza?
szavanna Resident: hmmm since I am far away on another continent
szavanna Resident: the holidays are different too
szavanna Resident: and so I make up my own Christmas and things
Eliza Madrigal: :) Nice Sza... guess I'm like that too though am situated close to where I was born
szavanna Resident: we made a nice celebration for the kids
    --BELL--
szavanna Resident: when they were born ...we planted a tree and burried their umbilical chord next to the tree, lit candles and played music
    Eliza Madrigal: ooooh :))
    szavanna Resident: :)
szavanna Resident: just before my first son was born, my dad passed away
szavanna Resident: so the tree symbolised - my dad born again ...
    szavanna Resident: makes sense lol
Eliza Madrigal: into the ground up to the sky
    Eliza Madrigal: connection
    szavanna Resident: °͜°

    Advent calendars.

szavanna Resident: its nice to make your own festivals :)
Storm Nordwind: I used to create advent calendars for my kids
    szavanna Resident: really
    Eliza Madrigal: oh, nice...
    szavanna Resident: :)
Storm Nordwind: The next window was always drawn the night before, so peeking was to no avail!
    Eliza Madrigal: hehehe
    szavanna Resident: :))
Storm Nordwind: We always told a story, and had no idea at the start how it would go - like spontaneous storytelling
    szavanna Resident: sounds lots fun
    Eliza Madrigal: lovely
Storm Nordwind: I didn't patent it, so you're welcome to try! ;)
    szavanna Resident: :)

    Making music.

szavanna Resident: my sons are forming a band
szavanna Resident: and doing all sorts of arty stuff now
szavanna Resident: they love to write stories too
    Eliza Madrigal: blooming
szavanna Resident: our summer holiday is starting tomorrow
Eliza Madrigal: can go on the road soon
szavanna Resident: and they created a music room
szavanna Resident: and play John Lennon
    szavanna Resident: °͜°
    Eliza Madrigal: :)

    Unraveling rituals.

Eliza Madrigal: our rituals are unraveling here... kids getting older... son not so interested - but, if not for holidays there is family they'd probably never see
    szavanna Resident: hmm true
szavanna Resident: enjoy the cooking Stormy
Storm Nordwind: Be well friends. Time to put the chef's hat on
Eliza Madrigal: :) save a chair for us
    szavanna Resident: :) happy cooking
    stevenaia Michinaga: bye storm, enjoy
stevenaia Michinaga: I should be off too, have a good day
    Eliza Madrigal: bye Stevenaia....
    Eliza Madrigal: you too
stevenaia Michinaga: good seeing you all
szavanna Resident: take care Steve ;))
