Bruce Mowbray: Heya, Kori.
Bruce Mowbray: Well, I've been pretty good, I guess. Thanks for asking.
Bruce Mowbray: I'm able to pick up litter at two freeway intersections for the first time in three years...
Korel Laloix: Great.. any big adventures or efforts?
Bruce Mowbray: So I guess I'm doing all right.
Bruce Mowbray: Big adventures?
Bruce Mowbray: Well, I got hooked on perpetual motion machines (YouTube) this afternoon.
Bruce Mowbray: Does that count?
Korel Laloix: Great.. health issues were keeping you back?
Korel Laloix: Or some silly legal thing?
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, health issues. I wasn't able to do it for two years due to low stamina.
Bruce Mowbray: You have no stamina issues, of course!
Korel Laloix: That sounds fun... any favorite vid you can share?
Korel Laloix: OH OK.
Bruce Mowbray: I clean the interchanges (volunteer) for our state dept of transportation.
Bruce Mowbray: Well, there are several vids that really intrigued me.
Bruce Mowbray: They say that there is no such thing as perpetual motion,
Korel Laloix: Great.. my running club is looking for something like that.. we wanted to do some park maintenance, but we are not legal allowed.. only by paid staff... silly.
Bruce Mowbray: but all the way back to the ancient Greeks folks have been inventing them - or trying to.
Bruce Mowbray: yes, that sounds silly.
Korel Laloix: I don't know enough about the subject to even comment.
Bruce Mowbray: Maybe you could talk to the OK dept of transportation about it.
Bruce Mowbray: I can show you the intersections that I clean up every month...
Korel Laloix: I will bring it up.
Korel Laloix: Thanks.
Bruce Mowbray: Here is my sister's (dedicated to her):
Bruce Mowbray: http://www.hermitdog.com/kathy/happy_birthday_kathy.htm
Korel Laloix: Oh thanks.
Bruce Mowbray: and here is my brother's:
Bruce Mowbray: http://www.hermitdog.com/bob/Page.htm
Korel Laloix: Oh cool.
Korel Laloix: That could be fun really.. and get some freeze advertising.
[ I give Kori links to Ohio's required contract form for Adopt a Highway volunteers -- and also the contract form for Oklahoma --- in an IM.]
Korel Laloix: All that just to pick up trash.. wow
Bruce Mowbray: Usually groups do it -- but I always do it alone.
Korel Laloix: Why is that?
Bruce Mowbray: But I still had to sign the contract forms --
Bruce Mowbray: as you would have to do in OK, as well.
Bruce Mowbray: (and if you're going to do it as a group, someone needs to be designated the "coordinator")
Korel Laloix: Yes... just makes me so irritated sometimes.. all the legal crap.
Bruce Mowbray: of course, I am my own coordinator!
Bruce Mowbray: ha ha.
Korel Laloix: O I am sooooo not doing that... smiles
Bruce Mowbray: Well, the state thinks it has to protect itself against lawsuits.
Korel Laloix: You can coordinate yourself?... wow.. wish I could do that sometimes.
Bruce Mowbray: So they "train" people in things to do and not to do.
Bruce Mowbray: (it's called, covering their butt).
Korel Laloix: Exactly.
Bruce Mowbray: Well, I'm not as coordinated as I was three years ago, but I do the best I can,
Bruce Mowbray: and that's all right for the Ohio Dept of Transportation, I guess.
Korel Laloix: But it sounds like progress at least.. you are out more.
Bruce Mowbray: I actually enjoy getting out there early in the morning and collecting all the litter.
Bruce Mowbray: Last week I actually found a $20 bill
Bruce Mowbray: at my brother's intersection.
Korel Laloix: Find anything interesting? Money, drugs, bodies?..
Bruce Mowbray: First time I've ever found money - in over 4 decades of picking up litter.
Korel Laloix: Great.. smiles
Bruce Mowbray: yes, a $20 bill, last week.
Korel Laloix: What did you buy me?.. smiles
Bruce Mowbray: They teach us what to look for in the way of drugs.
Bruce Mowbray: I bought five salad meals --
Korel Laloix: Like what?
Bruce Mowbray: and ate them all.
Bruce Mowbray: ha ha!
Bruce Mowbray: Stuff from meth labs that has been thrown out of cars.
Korel Laloix: Oh Ok.. sounds too healthy for me...
Bruce Mowbray: I've forgotten the details.
Bruce Mowbray: I just pick up everything.
Korel Laloix: That is a big issue down here.
Bruce Mowbray: yes, up here, also.
Bruce Mowbray: They tell us not to pick up dead animals, etc.
Korel Laloix: And people are starting to require in real estate sales tests to see if a meth had been in the property before.
Bruce Mowbray: (so I don't do that).
Bruce Mowbray: wow. amazing.
Korel Laloix: Road kill can be quite tasty.
Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
--BELL--
Korel Laloix: http://www.methlabcleanup.com/testing.htm
Bruce Mowbray: (reading your link on meth lab cleanups)
Bruce Mowbray: I was given a sheet of things to look for -- but I forget what it said about meth stuff.
Bruce Mowbray: Otherwise, you name it and chances are very good that you'll find it out there.
Bruce Mowbray: eventually.
Korel Laloix: The epidemiology of meth use is very troubling.
Bruce Mowbray: I've found everything from telephone listening devices to dildoes - and everything in between.
Korel Laloix: lol.. oh ick.
Korel Laloix: I can just imagine.
Bruce Mowbray: Spreading like an epidemic, huh?
Bruce Mowbray: I usually save the unique objects that I find... in a box that I keep at home.
Korel Laloix: Very much so... and in some studies it is suggested that meth will destroy someone's life quicker than cocaine.
Bruce Mowbray: Bruce Mowbray: really?
Korel Laloix: Not read a lot on it, but what I have is enough.
Korel Laloix: Hopefully not the dildo... smiles
Bruce Mowbray: well, I wouldn't begin to know where I could find either drug... so I guess I'm safe.
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, I still have the dildo (a very small pink one.)
Bruce Mowbray: with a hole in it for batteries.
Korel Laloix: It is just sad to see...
Korel Laloix: I think that is one drug my mom never used though.
Korel Laloix: oh lol.
Bruce Mowbray: I also found a nice glass last week -- brought it home and washed it off to use...
Korel Laloix: Oh nice.
Bruce Mowbray: but I've given up alcohol until I lose about 15 pounds... so it's waiting for me.
Korel Laloix: Some utility out of it.
Korel Laloix: That sounds good...
Bruce Mowbray: yes! I just use it to drink water now, but eventually it will be filled with single malt scotch!
Bruce Mowbray: and then I can start getting rotund again.
Korel Laloix: I am finally back up to the weight I can life with.
Bruce Mowbray: Great!
Bruce Mowbray: I've lost seven pounds so far on my diet.
Bruce Mowbray: Have you heard of green coffee bean extract?
Korel Laloix: I never really go the full taste for any whiskey, although I had to buy it for my last office.
Korel Laloix: No.. do tell please.
Bruce Mowbray: I'm using that -- and it seems to be working.. recommended by Dr. Oz.
Bruce Mowbray: just a sec.. will find a link for it....
Korel Laloix: Great for you.. it is just like a huge does of caffeine?
Korel Laloix: I wish I could find some pill I cold take to gain a bit of weight.
Bruce Mowbray: http://www.premiumgreencoffee.com/?gclid=CNv5rvSl1bcCFahcMgod1xwA4Q
Bruce Mowbray: Just eat more carbs.
Bruce Mowbray wishes he had that problem.
Korel Laloix: Eating is such a chore though.
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, I agree.
Bruce Mowbray: Fortunately, I don't have to eat for anyone but myself.
Bruce Mowbray: (or eat anyone else's cooking).
Korel Laloix: I like to cook more than eat... smiles.. not sure how that work in my brain.
Bruce Mowbray: I cook very little and as simply as possible.
--BELL--
Bruce Mowbray: mostly just fry stuff - like pork chops --- or make simple salads. In winter, I like to make crock pot meals.
Korel Laloix: I really tend to eat bad junk food if I don't force myself to cook.
Bruce Mowbray: I can resist junk food, except popcorn.
Korel Laloix: Hey?.. what is wrong with popcorn?.. smiles
Bruce Mowbray: Had any good daydreams lately (the topic this week, apparently).
Bruce Mowbray: nothing, I love it!
Korel Laloix: Last session we wandered over to talking about weddings.
Bruce Mowbray: I pop it in my microwave . . . almost every night.
Bruce Mowbray: weddings?
Korel Laloix: We started talking about thrift shops.
Bruce Mowbray: Did you decide anything about weddings?
Bruce Mowbray: or thrift shops?
Korel Laloix: Then I commented on how I thought it was sad to see wedding dresses at thrift shops.
Bruce Mowbray: oh yes. Very sad indeed.
Korel Laloix: And it went from there.
Bruce Mowbray: also prom dresses, sad.
Korel Laloix: And I guess it was decided that if I ever get married there will be a SL version as well.. grins
Korel Laloix: Not that I had a choice in the matter.
Bruce Mowbray: Maybe folks could start having prom dances at thrift shops... and weddings, too,
Bruce Mowbray: That might take some of the sadness off.
Bruce Mowbray daydreams about weddings in thrift shops.
Korel Laloix: Saves time... lol.. frowns.
Korel Laloix: Sad thought.
Bruce Mowbray: Of course, the whole idea of weddings sort of turns me off.
Korel Laloix: Why is that?
Korel Laloix: I want to have some sort of ceremony at least.
Bruce Mowbray: Mine was really cool,
Korel Laloix: Something nice and for family.
Bruce Mowbray: but never should have happened.
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, for the family, alas.
Korel Laloix: I know a few people that have said that.
Korel Laloix: And then another question for me would be tribal or church wedding?
Bruce Mowbray: Annie and I lived together for two years before getting married. We should have left it that way.
Bruce Mowbray: cool... tribal wedding.... super coooool.
Korel Laloix: I think a lot of people feel that way.
Bruce Mowbray: The support of a community -- wonderful.
Korel Laloix: But I like the idea of being legally committed to a relationship..
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, we thought it would be a good idea, too.
Korel Laloix: But we will see how I feel three years in..
Bruce Mowbray: 3 years in?
Korel Laloix: If I get married or the like.. see if I still like the legally bound thing after three years..
Bruce Mowbray: oh, I understand.
Bruce Mowbray: I'm a radical freedom person,
Bruce Mowbray: so solitude suits me much better than marriage.
Bruce Mowbray: should have realized that before I tied the knot.
Bruce Mowbray: wide-open spaces, no fences, no chains.
Korel Laloix: Radical freedom?
Bruce Mowbray: oh yes.
Bruce Mowbray: that goes along with my claustrophobia
Korel Laloix: I like structure, but that is not for everyone of course.
Bruce Mowbray: need room to stretch...
Bruce Mowbray: both body and mind.
Bruce Mowbray: My dog and I walked to a bridge down the road yesterday.
Bruce Mowbray: and when we got there I looked all around us -- 360 degrees.
Bruce Mowbray: and there was not a house or farm within half a mile in any direction.
Bruce Mowbray: ahhhhh!
Bruce Mowbray: most of the houses are more than a mile away.
Bruce Mowbray: only one is closer than that.
Korel Laloix: I do love that as well.
Korel Laloix: I love going camping by myself.
Bruce Mowbray: wide-open spaces!
Bruce Mowbray: oh yes!
Bruce Mowbray: Camping alone is really cool.
Korel Laloix: My gfs think I am crazy.
Bruce Mowbray: Heya, Kori -- I need to attend to something in RL, so I'm going to cut out during the next drop. OK with you?
Korel Laloix: And really it is not really that safe.
Korel Laloix: But I try not to be stupid.
Bruce Mowbray: I'm sure you're quite able to defend yourself.
Bruce Mowbray: The danger might be in getting bit by a snake -- or twisting your ankle...
Bruce Mowbray: but you could take along a cell phone, just in case.
Korel Laloix: Oh I do that for sure.
Korel Laloix: But I take my Beretta as well.
Bruce Mowbray: Wow!
--BELL--
Bruce Mowbray: bye for now, Kori.
Korel Laloix: ciao bello
Bruce Mowbray: Watch out for those tornadoes down there!
Korel Laloix: I am off as well.
